Ashburn Pub is a gem for Ashburn. The food is great and the service is good. They have a solid happy hour menu along with ongoing specials for every day of the week. I'd frequent more, but if you don't get there as soon as they open, you'll be stuck standing or go elsewhere due to how insanely small the venue is. It was ideal for us when we lived across the street, but usually ended up at Spankys due to such small space. read more

The place is very crowded but be forewarned, it's packed with locals. This is not a place to visit if you're not part of the "in crowd". I live in Ashburn...and have been there at least a dozen times. The place has been almost hostile when you're not in the part of the bar. With that said, the food is great for bar food. Service is excellent considering the place is jammed full of over-paid 50 somethings. *which I am so I'm laughing at myself while writing this. Prices are a little high considering the competition. Was in the mood for wings last night and a friend said, "The Ashburn Pub". I said, I always forget about them... So, we went and got Tortilla soup, Wings with Beaver sauce and Street Tacos​. The food was on point. Flavor, texture, ​and heat of the Tortilla soup was awesome. It was full of shredded chicken. The wings, what do I say? The wings were perfect. We should have ordered 2 pounds. One word. Ridculous. The first time I was here was a total accident. I was visiting a friend in Virginia and we stumbled across this place. That night, they had a DJ and he was pretty much playing all of the Eddie Money, Queen, Journey and other 70's/80's gems that we wanted to hear. There is a Tuaca machine with a ski that has 4 shots in said ski. We watched as a group of guys adorned ski goggles and drank out of the ski at the same time. Sheer epic college douchebaggery at its finest. I wanted in. I revisited the Ashburn pub last weekend when I was back in VA and I can safely say, this bar has quite the cast of characters, the same cheap drinks that I remember, and is always ALWAYS good for at least a few stories to take back home and share. Let's be honest, the real reason we came back was to do the ski shot. But back to the funny stories... I was at this place for about 20 minutes before I heard the worst pickup line of the decade. "did you come here to get pregnant?" Um. No. definitely not. Especially not at a dive bar in northern Virginia. But thanks buddy! You provided the quote of the weekend and a lifetime memory. The crowd reminds me of the regulars at Moe's Tavern; people that've just given up on life so they come here because they don't know what else to do with themselves. This is one of the few places in Ashburn where you walk in and everyone knows you! The bartenders and managers make sure they know your name..... It's just like Cheers but better..... Great place to meet friends in Ashburn. Close to home and a hot spot in "da Burn." The owner, wait staff, and bartenders are very customer oriented and keep your drinks filled. It's great to find a place that knows how to cook a steak. I flew into Dulles relatively late, and not too many places, other than fast food, were open. I saw Ashburn Pub had a full menu and called them to make sure their kitchen was still open. To be honest, my expectations were not very high. I figured it's a bar, I'll grab some bar food, it will be fine enough to swallow, and I'll leave. I was pleasantly surprised! First, the food. I ordered the Steak Tidbits (medium rare) to start and the NY Strip (Medium) for dinner. Both were cooked perfectly! Both were delicious. The menu includes a little bit of everything, so a group with diverse palate can find something they like. Ambience: It's still a pub. It can get pretty loud. It's small, but there is plenty of space so that you don't feel crowded and plenty of room to walk around if you want to socialize. Now for service: Sarah was an absolute gem! She couldn't be more attentive and patient. I have to limit my intake of carbs, and I am not fond of some vegetables, like asparagus, so I was throwing her substitutions for everything. She happily took my order, and I was given EXACTLY what I asked for. Even with several tables to manage, she made sure to give each one attention. She had conversations with every table. We even had a lengthy talk about how Ashburn has changed over the years. She was definitely the highlight of my very long day. read more

The food is well priced and very good - Saturday night they have a "buy two for $22" special on steaks and prime rib. It is noisy, people here love to party and drink, the music is all over the map, but there is no other place quite like it. A little far to go for a Reston-ite like me, but a nice diversion. Moe's Tavern. Couldn't have said it better myself. THIS, is a hole in the wall. Always heard the expression but it's something mystical experiencing it. For one thing, it is way to smoke filled. Now I'm a man who enjoys his Camel No 9's but my god, it is too small for that much smoke. No vents or windows except the door. The crowd seems like they know each other, and they probably do. The bartenders- are ok, servers -are ok but nothing special. I got the feeling that if you didn't know the employees from outside the bar, then you won't as noticed. It's a great place to hide if your on the run or if you're feeling down about your life. Maybe not, well it'll work it's magic. We ordered from the Ashburn Pub tonight using grubhub.com. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. I have food allergies to seafood and nuts so, I opted not to get fries since they're always cooked in the same fryer as fish. When I got my sandwich, I realized that the chicken was sauteed instead of grilled. THANK YOU! I say thank you because I'm sure that upon seeing what I'm allergic to, they decided to use a different vessel to cook my chicken. It was cooked perfectly. My husband got the ribeye steak with the twice-baked potato and veggies. He was super surprised at how good it was. The steak was cooked medium rare just like how he ordered it. He also really liked the potato. We cleaned our plates! Hopefully, next time, we will be able to dine in and thank the staff personally! read more
