We came in very agitated after dealing with a pushy and annoying salesman at Raymour and Flannigan, so when a saleswoman approached us, I almost said, "no thanks, we're good." Thank God I didn't say that. Nicole warmly approached us with a most pleasant and unassuming demeanor and with a warm kindness we were not expecting. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable, warm and pleasant, but she effortlessly guided us through our picky requests with ease as she settled us into the couches we were meant to own. Then I had to take an important personal call which delayed our shopping by a half hour and put us well past her end time for the day. She just patiently and pleasantly waited and then guided us on to the next area of mattresses and frames. Unsurprisingly she picked the most amazing one for us and we were sold on it instantly. Add in her pillow, sheet, and cover recommendations and we were on cloud nine. Couldn't be happier. Nicole stayed an extra HOUR AND A HALF past her clock-out time to help, advise, guide, assist and treat us like we were long lost friends. Her service was OUTSTANDING, as was her demeanor and overall knowledge and expertise. We're not sure what her actual job title is, but she should be Managing or running her own store. I own several businesses and have a keen eye for exemplary talent, she is top tier. If I had any open Senior Management positions I would hire her immediately. I went in knowing, or at least I thought I did, exactly what I wanted. I needed a nice new couch and wanted to match as close as I could to my existing 2 month old loveseat. After looking myself, I tracked Reggie B., aka, 'the salesman' down and he really helped. Put up with my nonsense and actually was able to put me into an exact match AND have it delivered (scheduled so far) 4 days later. Huge deciding factor. Reggie was super friendly and I'll be back for more, as Reggie I'm sure saw.... after the holidays. Reggie closed the deal and now I'm just awaiting my new couch. I had my living room furniture delivered on January of this year. I started having problems with the arm of my chaise chair and the ottoman. The arm is loose and the ottoman has a really poor fabric. The fabric is pilling all over. That piece looks so old that looks out of place from the rest of the furniture. I called the main office to have someone look at it but they never showed up. My furniture should be under the 1year manufacture guarantee. But when it comes to warranty they try their best not to cover anything. I think my next step would be to contact BBB. Someone named Kieasha answered my review in google and said she sent me a direct message thru Yelp lol and I'm still trying to find it. Upbeat happy employees that set up the delivery date, helped me with ease to accommodate my date change request, (I needed to delay by two extra days since I had to go away last minute) and the gentleman that delivered and assembled the sofa were fantastic. I had the worst experience ever. I placed an in store order for 4 high chairs and a sectional. Received neither an email confirmation or clear delivery date on a $2600 order. After about 2 weeks, I decided to pull out the receipt and closely examine it. I realized that i was overcharged on every item by a salesman named Sam. I returned to the store and got a clear delivery date and confirmation from a nice man named Reggie. Reggie also adjusted the prices. The high chairs were in my home within a few short days. Here's where it got crazy. Two weeks later the sectional was set to arrive. The delivery men came and begin unloading. After about 20 minutes I realized something was wrong. Half of the sectional they bought into my house was from another entirely different furniture set. They delivered me half a sectional. They told me that they were told the day before that a piece was missing but to still make the drop off. Nobody told me about the missing piece and this does not explain why they literally bought in and unwrapped an entirely different sectional piece with my order. I spoke to their boss and the store manager who assured me that the other piece would be delivered within a week. He also took off half the delivery price. A few days later the missing sectional piece was set to arrive between 12 and 4 pm. I got a call at 2:34 that they were 10 minutes away. At around 3:50 I called my sales guy Sam. He said that the actual delivery window began at 12:45 and that sometimes they could be a little early or late and not to worry because they deliver up until 8 pm. At around 6-7 I began calling the store and getting placed on hold and bounced around. I literally was being hung up on. My girlfriend tried calling from her phone but it was linked to the sales transaction so They ignored her calls too. It's 7:20 and I still don't have my sectional. Do not buy from this place. Their products are good I will admit, but they offered the worst customer service imaginable and should be reported. I will file a report with the BBB. Avoid this place. What a nightmare. I bought a couch back before The pandemic started in store and scheduled it's delivery. When I walked into the store we purchased it for almost double the price that was advertised online. They also have a warranty and delivery fee higher than what is available from Ashley.com. I came back the next day and they honored the online price but not the delivery and warranty price. They explained the online store and showroom are two different entities so the prices can be different. As a consumer why would anyone ever walk into a showroom if the SAME company online is undercutting their retail stores? Fast forward to delivery months later. On the day before delivery I get a notice they would be cancelling my delivery because the piece is backordered. I called and apparently the company fulfills the order just a few days before delivery is scheduled not when I placed the order months ago (You would think it would be sitting in the warehouse collecting dust). Anyway, I call again and they tell me the piece should come 2 weeks later. I call again two weeks later and they tell me to call back at the end of the month. I understand we're in the midst of the pandemic but COMMON! Me and my wife are both front line workers (she's a clinician and I'm a pharmacist) we've been working non stop for the past few months and moved for her job during this whole mess. We don't have anything to sit on at home and it honestly sucks. Ashley has done absolutely nothing to clarify delivery dates or provide any help both online or on the phone. Honestly, just avoid them. If your not going to get ripped off in store, you'll likely be subject to their 2nd rate service. We were lucky enough to be subject to both. read more

I WOULD NEVER shop here again..terrible customer service. I strongly urge everyone to stay away from Ashley as a whole organization. We received our delivery, which we paid an arm and leg for to begin with and while the delivery was made the drivers made me sign and then told me to go check if there was any damage on the items. On my way back downstairs the drivers had already left and ran out. When I came back I noticed my stools were too high for my island. I called customer service not even 5 min after and they told me they could do NOTHING because I had already signed. They basically told me once my name was signed, they have nothing do with customer service. I will be reporting this to the BBB shortly. read more

I've waited over a year since our purchase to write a review of Ashley Furniture and here it is, because I want to allow people the opportunity to turn elsewhere: Ashley Furniture is unequivocally the worst consumer purchase I've made in all my life. The customer service is terrible, not returning phone calls and not providing clear information. Mind you, we furnished an entire house with Ashley Furniture, so there are many pieces to this puzzle. Half of our office desk arrived as expected, and they attempted to deliver a completely different other half of the desk and insisted it belonged together. After their "technicians" assembled the hardware for all of our furniture, I tested everything out because it was clear that not one person who showed up knew how to do a halfway decent job. ALL of the opening handles were loose, the desk drawer was installed improperly (more on that), and like a previous review, we only got half our sectional couch! What a joke. We waited months (!!!) for the correct other half of our desk to show up and by this time, the half that had been previously delivered and improperly installed was damaging itself due to the drawer not closing correctly. After I called and complained about that, they sent a "repair technician" two months later with, wait for this, ***SPRAY PAINT*** to touch up our desk. The guy pulled the paint out of his backpack like he was doing graffiti, absolutely pathetic and an inexplicable resolution to this issue. Christmas time comes and we are wrapping presents on our dining room table which was part of the purchase. A piece of scotch tape falls onto the table for not even one second and when removed, it pulled up the lamination from the table. We hysterically laughed because at this point we knew how garbage all of our furniture was already so it was insult to injury. Three quarters of our furniture that has handles have all of the handles wobbly because the screws were installed loose, wore away the wood, and now there is no way for a tight, secure handle. I've had to make multiple repairs myself because who knows what recently released inmate they may send to your house to make such repairs. We won't even get into the scam that Synchrony, their financial institution they use, runs with "deferred interest." Stay far, far, far away from Ashley Furniture, and I mean that as much as I can get through to a complete stranger considering spending one dollar with Ashley. Spend the little extra money to go somewhere else because it will avoid many many headaches. It is all cheap, veneered, Chinese garbage that is designed to look nice until it gets to your home. The only way I would be satisfied with Ashley Furniture is if they offered a full and complete refund for their poor excuse in which they consider furniture. I wouldn't even keep it. I'd burn it as firewood and sleep on the floor. read more

We purchased a bed frame and a table. The bed frame was suppose to be here before the table but that didn't happen because they brought the WRONG bed frame! Who does that?! The sales guy Peter was the one who messed up because it was obvious he was new but wanted to act like he knew what he was doing. After contacting Channel 12 NEWS, she was given an email address to send our complaint to. I sent an email on Friday and received a phone call on Sunday from a "Darlene". She was FANTASTIC. Darlene gave us a full credit towards another mattress and box spring. The Ramy the store manager was also very helpful was very apologetic. The sales rep. We went couch shopping here and had a bad experience. We would not spend money here, definitely get your furniture elsewhere. The staff member followed us around the store even after we said we did not want any help and we were just looking. He kept interrupting our conversations and was extremely pushy trying to get us to buy what he was pushing, without ever listening to what we wanted. We've been to other furniture stores where staff members stand around in case you have questions but this staff member was following too closely it made us extremely uncomfortable. The communication plan promised by the salesperson was not at all honored. As for delivery, the information communicated by text message and phone message were different. When we called, information on delivery was not available. We cannot, therefore, schedule our own week or the upcoming holiday because of their ineptitude. In times such as these, it would behoove them to be more careful about personal interactions by ensuring in-person deliveries were better managed. It certainly felt that it was more important to make the sale than to serve the customer in a way that was wholly meaningful to them. Whatever you do, don't buy your furniture from here. Ashley makes the worst quality products and while they are an inexpensive option, my wife and I wholly regret purchasing our furniture from here. We bought a table that we've had to replace twice due to manufacturer defects- cracks in the table top and the legs. Now a third time, I am facing similar issues, and they have decided that even within my warranty, I am not eligible for replacement. Ashley furniture has great selections and great prices. The staff is helpful and friendly, but not too pushy. The store in Nanuet, NY is clean and visually pleasing. Delivery time is quick and they offer Saturday delivery. I purchased a TV stand. The only issue we had was that one of the shelves was damaged and another part was put together incorrectly, but they sent a new shelf. The second one had no damaged parts, but the same part was put together incorrectly, the holes didn't line up for the shelves. We ended up fixing it ourselves. We informed them of the issue to prevent it from happening to someone else. Despite the little snafu, I would shop there again. read more

The salesperson misinformed us of the shipping process to get their quick sale. The salesperson was new to this location, and unaware that this location does not deliver furniture broken down and to be built in the home, unlike most Ashley locations and franchises in the United States. As a result, our couch was delivered assembled and did not fit through our doorway. I called the location and informed them of the issue and that I expect a full refund due to their error. I received a call from the salesperson telling me they can still offer me the break down service until Francesa, the supervisor, overheard the salesperson once again misinform me of the process and corrected him, before speaking with me on the phone. My service fee refund of $86 was denied. She told me the only person who could help me is the Ashley CEO, and she refused to give me the contact information. They have still denied me a refund of the $86 service fee, despite the evidence presented. I received irrational phone calls containing abusive language from Brian, the sales supervisor standing up for their salesperson's error. Brian has flat out denied the evidence, despite his supervisor, Francesca, witnessing the second occurrence. This franchise location's leadership and customer service is absolutely abysmal. It has been an absolute nightmare to manage, and emotionally draining to be treated this way. They should be avoided until they have policies in place that are fair to you, the customer. read more

Had a very nice shopping experience, Got a sofa that's very nice and comfortable. They pushed us to buy the warranty saying it covers any and all wear tear or damage. Couple months after purchase a nail/peg design fell off. Since it was only one I didn't call but in the following months 3 more fell off. I called to have them fix it and they said they couldn't do anything cuz it was 3 days past the 1 year mark since I bought it. I was disappointed by the lack of interest in trying to help me. They said the manager would call me back but no one did. The warranty company said they don't fix repairs. Lesson, don't buy warranty they always find a way to get out of actually honoring it. read more

I gave Ashley furniture a great review when I purchased my dining room but today my dining room set came , it was supposed to be perfect , it wasn't. After you purchase it's all over. Make sure you inspect every inch. One chair was clearly repaired and sent out as a new piece. The table had a cut in the wood. It took my delivery man 45 minutes to explain to Omar that the set had defective pieces.I heard the conversation because the driver had Omar on speaker. When I took the phone and told him it should be perfect for $3400 dollars and I wouldn't accept a repair on something that came damaged , he finally agreed to have the two pieces replaced. So now I will have to stay home for another delivery next week. No apologies were given. Omar I have news for your customer service is important, social media can kill business. The next set should be checked before it leaves your warehouse or Ashley furniture will be taking a big return. read more

Julio's direction is to call repair companies that can't understand why you even have their number. No willingness to compensate due to the many inconveniences. Ramy and Nicolas (managers in the Nanuet store) have no solutions and fail to return promised calls (I think they have tried) But they have no clue how to provide repair services for shoddy merchandise. we have cancelled our potential $2000.00 sleeper sofa order. chairs are in a heap, and Ashley has dodge yet another very dissatisfied customer. way to go. please don't shop there. july 1, 2016. Mind you that this is my living room set for my second living room that we rarely use. I make sure that I keep the children out of this room as they have their own family room. My husband and I recently purchased a home and needed to buy more furniture (upstairs and downstairs couches and a dining room table and chairs). We began looking a few weeks ago and were immediately greeted upon entering the store, and were asked if we had been there before, what were we looking for etc. This store's employees REEK of salespeople!!! I cannot stress this enough. They want to show you around the store, point out things for you to look at, and sell you on their furniture instead of simply letting you look around to see what you like. It's exhausting. My husband and I left without purchasing anything and went to 2 other furniture stores in the area, one of which was pricier but provided a better experience. We ended up buying couches for the upstairs from this other store, but then returned to Ashley to look at downstairs furniture this past Saturday. We were greeted by the same salesperson (Phaun) and although she was a little overbearing the first time, we let her walk us around but I was careful to nip her sales speeches in the bud. We found a sectional we liked, but needed to re-measure the room. We returned on Sunday and were greeted by another guy who was friendly but again, wanted to really give us the sales pitch. We explained that we had been there the day before and liked a particular sectional but it didn't fit in the room. We couldn't take 2 of the pieces since it would be unfinished. So, he wanted to then show us around the store and point out more sectionals. I personally cannot stand being told what to look at, and how ''elegant'' things are. I have eyes, and I want to be left alone to shop in peace. Well, I think he finally got the hint, and he went off to help a customer he had been with earlier. So, the manager/sleep specialist comes over and he's trying to do the same thing. We finally found a sectional we liked, and then I wanted to look at dining room tables. Again, I found one I liked, but I didn't like the chairs, so the guy kept carrying over chairs for me to look at. He was incredibly pushy and not friendly. He seemed annoyed that I didn't like any of the chairs. When we told him we wanted only the sectional and the dining table, he walked us up to the front where he conveniently added the $249.99 protection plan to our purchase. I said we didn't want it, and he looked at me like I had 3 heads. Then he said he could offer it to us for $199.99-NO! We paid and scheduled the delivery, and he didn't even bother to thank us or shake our hand. I would NEVER EVER EVER return to this store or any other Ashley location if this is the way their employees are trained. The employees are incredibly overbearing and they want to sell to you and talk you into their furniture. In that case, I'm not your ideal customer because I know what I like and don't want to be given a sales pitch. We like the furniture that we decided to purchase, but it was AWFUL dealing with the employees in this store. We left feeling exhausted. I hope the delivery process is smooth and on the day we scheduled, or I'll be writing their corporate office a nice letter. At first everything seemed to go well as soon as you walk through the door they are basically on top of you. We then waited about two weeks for our furniture to be delivered, they were not only really late but about a week into having the new bed set it broke. I called Ashley's to replace it and they refused to do so. They told me they would have someone come out and fix it to show room standards. This store's buying experience started out nicely, but ultimately ended quite poorly. My salesman was genuinely interested in helping me to find a bed for my son. However, I made it crystal clear that I was looking for a platform bed that only needed a mattress and no box spring. When we selected the bed (in their online ordering section), I noticed that the price was not discounted in store, even though it was Labor Day weekend. I then went from my phone to their online site and found that I could order it for much, much less from their website. The manager got involved and said he could price match, so that part worked out in my favor. Next, they tried to sell me a mattress, but I showed them one from a different online site, and they did not have anything comparable, either in terms of price or description. I left the store relatively satisfied since I had saved money on the bed. When the bed was delivered, I had already received my new mattress. However, the delivery men informed me that I needed a box spring, but I told them that I had ordered this bed with a salesman and manager who said it did not. After they assembled the bed (and left), I had my teenage son test it out, and it was determined that we did, indeed, need a box spring. When I called the store, the only thing the manager offered was to now sell me a box spring at 30% off ($250 price) and I would have to pay $45 for delivery. Bait and switch much? No matter how hard I tried to convince them that they had been wrong in misdirecting me, they would not budge. I told them that they had lost a repeat customer and they did not care. Ultimately, I ordered a box spring from another store since Ashley Furniture was undeserving of a single cent more. And, as an aside, only one person (out of a large number of people with whom I spoke) named Jack apologized, even though he could not get his manager to do more for me. Overall, the misdirection and then economic loss I suffered with the additional purchase of a box spring was not worth the trip to the store. I bought two couches from Ashley for almost 4,000$ at the end of November and when they delivered them on December 13th, one was broken and they agreed to send a technician out to try and repair it.  He was supposed come out the following Saturday to look at it but call Friday to set up an arrival time.   Never got a phone call and no one ever came.  My wife stayed home the entire day waiting.  She also called Ashley and got the "runaround" with no help.  I went to the store where we bought the couch and asked when things would be resolved and was told it would be another week and a half before they could give me another couch.  I said they can have furniture back and I'll go somewhere else.  I found out then once it's delivered you cannot take it back.  I'm sure it was in the contract but I also know that was never mentioned when they sold it to me.  Unless you are buying something from them, you are connected to anyone that can really help you.  They have "dispatchers" who tell you when someone is supposed to call the day before and tell you they will show you up.  They also advertise they have a "fleet" of trucks.  In truth, they sub the work out to crews who deliver the furniture and if they don't show up, too bad.   I'll never go there again.  I encourage anyone to ask lots of questions when you go in there.  I will not set foot in their store or spend another penny with them. read more

This review is much delayed however I can't stop receiving compliments on my sectional. I am a PICKY person-especially when it comes to interior decorating. I moved into a new apartment in Manhattan and really wanted to make this my dream home. I went without a couch for weeks because I just hadn't found "the one." One a weekend trip to my parents' my mom brought me to Ashley where she swore up and down that she had found the perfect one and she was right! Not only was it bigger (length, width, back, chaise, literally all of it) than anything else i had found. There was just one problem-I found this couch online several times, all varying in price. The manager who worked with us could not have been more patient and accommodating. He was able to grant us a low price, guaranteed delivery date and even let me swap out the accessory pillows that came with it for something more my taste. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!! If I could give this place negative stars I would. I bought a couch from here around the 4th of July and scheduled the delivery for August. When I got home I realized I had to switch the two end pieces so I text my salesman Mike and he said no problem he would make the switch. Well August 6th my delivery date comes and the couch is delivered and the two end pieces were never changed and were the wrong ones. I refused delivery of them and sent them back. I called a few times in the next month and kept getting "the pieces are on truck status" then was told "we just took them off truck status" no one could give me a timeframe for the delivery of the two pieces. Finally on sept 3rd almost a month after receiving my couch I went to the store my self to get it handled and the date of delivery was finally scheduled (have yet to receive, date is for next week) that was issue number 1. Issue number 2 is that a week after I received the delivery I notice the leather on the back seams of 2 of the 4 pieces was splitting, not what you should get from a week old couch! So I called the customer service line and they told me to send pictures of the damage and the tags on the pieces so I did, after a few days of no response I called and the guy on the phone tells me "oh yeah that's not supposed to be like that, we'll get some one out to repair it" so I agreed unwillingly because who wants a "repaired" couch that was only delivered a week ago. After some back and fourth on following phone calls to schedule a date for the repair man to come, he finally shows up. When the repairman got there he looked at the damage and found another spot on a 3rd piece (now 3/4 pieces are damaged in the same way). He asked me if they sent the "parts". I told him no that they never mentioned anything about sending out parts so he tells me he can't do anything and gives me a look as if to say I'm not surprised this has happened (apparently this has happened before). So when I went back to the store that day which is the same day to finally find out a delivery date for the missing end pieces the woman at the store when I purchased the couch (Nanuet) tells me I have to call the customer service number to see about replacement. I called today (9/6) and she tells me they do not do exchanges or refunds and can only send some one to repair the pieces to "showroom quality" I told her I did not pay $2100 for a repaired couch. After some more back and fourth it was clear that no one in this company or even the store itself was willing to do the right thing and even try to salvage a customer. Because not only will they not exchange the pieces or take the couch back and refund my money they were not even willing to offer and compensation for needing to have the couch repaired a week after it's purchase. Needless to say this is the 1st and absolute last time I will ever shop at an Ashley furniture store especially the one in Nanuet. I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB and consumer protection. 5hrs later... I just received a call from a women from Ashley furniture who saw my bad yelp review and said she is going to send some one out to fix it, gee thanks I heard that 4 times already today I told her I wanted my couch refunded and my money back, of course crickets then continued to assure me they won't leave me dissatisfied and I told her it was too late I already was. they did not do a good Job, I ordered my furniture in January 2021, until now i did not get my missing parts in the furniture, staff are not helpful, this is my 5th month of waiting, so dissapointed with the services. read more
