Terrible customer service! Ordered a headboard for a Christmas present 3 weeks ago. Paid to have it delivered to the store. Went to pick it up on delivery day(last Thurs) and it wasn't there...still in warehouse in Fredericksburg. Said they would make sure it was on the truck for today. Called and it is still in Fredericksburg! 1.5 hours away! Said if I wanted it for Christmas I'd have to pick it up. VERY UNHAPPY! They are definitely NOT reliable! I wish I could give zero stars. But seeing, now, several Yelp reviews of upset customers whose experience has basically lined up with mine, I feel obligated to write this review so that others might benefit from my negative experience. My fiancée and I purchased about $5,000.00 worth of furniture on 8/3/19 to furnish our new home into which we were moving on 8/12: a 6-piece dining room set, a sectional sofa for our main floor living room, and a king-size bed frame for our master suite along with a matching king-size Tempurpedic mattress. We were told at the time of purchase that because of a manufacturing delay on the king-size bed frame (it was a brand new product at the time), we would have to receive our furniture in two separate deliveries: the dining room set, the sectional, and the mattress--all of which were currently in stock--on 8/16; the bed frame not until the week of 9/15. This was not ideal, but there would only be a gap of 4 days between our move-in date and the day we expected to complete our dining room and living room--and since my fiancée and I had our old queen-size bed set up in our new home's guest room, where we could temporarily live for a month or so without our new king-size bed for the master suite, we decided to go through with the purchase. 8/16, the day we had been expecting to receive our dining room set and main floor living room sectional, came and went--without so much as a phone call or explanation from Ashley. We then attempted to call the store and the distribution center to find out what was going on. Every call was transferred to the voicemail box of "Emily" in the ETA department. At least 6 voicemails and emails later, we haven't even received the dignity of a response or explanation from Ashley for a single one of them. Finally, on 8/18, frustrated at the lack of response, we went into the physical store again to try and figure out what was going on. Our two orders were still in the system, but somehow the sectional couch was no longer part of the first order (that was expected on 8/16), and it now appeared as "out of stock" and was a part of the 9/15 order with our bed frame. And there was a note added to our entry in the system saying that someone from the shop had called us on 8/3--the day we placed the order--which actually never happened. This seemed to indicate to me that someone from Ashley had sold the same couch to another customer on the same day we bought ours, then took away the one promised to us, and changed our date of delivery to the 9/15 bed frame delivery--effectively forcing us to wait an extra month for our main floor living room to be useable. Beyond even all of that, I now have the impression that the distribution/delivery center has unilaterally made the decision that it will not make any delivery to us until all of the pieces are in stock. So, this way, they only have to make one delivery and not two. This is completely unacceptable to us. We are now being forced to live in a half-empty house for over a month. We simply would not have purchased from Ashley if we had known at the time that we wouldn't be receiving any of our furniture for at least six weeks. I can't help but feel as if we've been bait-and-switched. And the complete lack of communication from either the store itself or the distribution/delivery center makes us feel that this company is either run by incompetents or people who simply don't give a sh*^. I myself make my career in a customer service-based industry, so I know the difference between good and bad service. And I am also loathe to be a complainer, because I also get it--I know what it's like to have to deal with upset customers. But this experience we're going through with Ashley is just so far beyond the pale... maybe someone from Ashley will see this review and actually reach out to us... It would be the first time anyone did. read more

RUN AWAY from this store. Do NOT go in. My experience with Ashley Furniture has been a nightmare filled with gaslighting and lies. Delivery of a broken bed to my home was downright brutal by awful, rude delivery men. I made a call and let Ashley know about this incomprehensibly horrible delivery. I have been trying since April (7 months!) to have the bed repaired. Several dozen emails and phone calls later, they are nowhere near fixing the problem. As a matter of fact, they sent the wrong parts TWICE...by truck! I stopped them from sending the wrong part 3 times. The second time it happened, and after all my efforts, I just broke down and cried. (Had to cut short an afternoon with my kids to get the wrong delivery). And I don't cry easily. Finally, the right parts were sent here via UPS, and each time I've been scheduled for a tech, they've not shown up. I got on Twitter to complain, and sure, Ashley reached out to me for show, but still are doing NOTHING, just more lies and promises and gaslighting. How dare they tell me to hang around for a tech and threaten to charge $140 if I'm not there..pay ME! Now I'm lugging the part around in my car, with no idea when I'm going to be serviced. Lie after lie is told, promise after promise is broken. I've begged them just to take back the bed but of course, that can't happen. I'm paying retail for a broken bed! Kicking myself for not doing my research before I ordered. Nearly every review, wherever it's posted, is filled with stories similar to mine. Oh, and so TODAY, I was called by Ashley who said they would be out November 16 to fix the bed. But not before taking the opportunity to land another shot - threatening to charge me $140 for a tech visit they said I MISSED! No text, nothing, just another lie. The NERVE of these people. After seven months of their non-stop BS, now they want to take more money from me. It's quite unbelievable. read more

I purchased a sofa July 4th weekend this past summer. The latest delivery date was July 28. The sofa came 2 weeks late and with one piece missing. I called to complain and the lady I spoke with gave me $100 credit so I was happy. Then the last piece was said to come 2 weeks after that. I then called again to complain and they gave me a new delivery date. The guys actually showed up this time but then we're mad at me when I thought it was the incorret piece and apologized for my mistakes. Very rude delivery guys. Then my invoice comes in a month later and the $100 credit was not applied. I disputed it and they REJECTED MY DISPUTE. Never buying from Ashley furniture again. Their customer service is a lie and they make fake promises. I would've been okay if they just gave me the $100 credit but they keep making me jump through hoops so they've lost my business and recommendations. read more

Yelp reviews arent very high for this location, but if you buy anything from this store, find Paul to process your transaction. He's an advocate for the customer and really enjoys his job. I purchased a dining room table set from the Ashley HomeStore in Dulles Town Crossing. My salesman was Paul and he was absolutely wonderful to work with. He greeted me when I walked in, introduced himself, and really took time to understand what I was looking for. I can't stand when sales associates turn into your shadow and follow you all over the store - Paul didn't do that for a second. Once I found what I wanted, I grabbed Paul, and he helped process my order. He answered all my questions, worked hard to match the online price, and was just really fun to work with. He's funny, caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I typically dislike furniture shopping, but had a very simple buying experience! read more

Purchased furniture on July 8th 2023 told delivery would be 8/10 (even though signs outside advertise next day delivery). Called today 8/8 to check on timeline for delivery and was told not all furniture had arrived yet so no delivery coming. Explained that we had made arrangements for the old furniture to be out of the house already based on delivery we were given at time of purchase. Asked for sofa to be delivered as scheduled or we would have nowhere to sit in our living room. I was told if we split the delivery it will cost us extra. So to be clear, you advertise next day delivery but then can't deliver it for a month and now you can't even do that. When I asked what happens if rest of order doesn't arrive on Monday was told we would have to keep waiting. Do better Ashley because I'm dangerously close to canceling my order with you and going elsewhere. read more

Two stars at this point because I did have a very helpful salesman when I was in the store. They say he's moved on. I may not blame him. I purchased a substantial amount of furniture on Aug 31 -- dining table and chairs, 4-piece sectional, rocker/recliner, another accent chair, and a full/twin bunk bed. On the date of purchase, I was given a delivery date of 9/20. When that date came and went without hearing anything, I called the store to ask for an update. 9/25 at the latest, absolutely. No communication of any kind since then, so I called again just now (9/26). Yes, everything is in but the bed rails. No, they can't deliver the other items. The bed rails may be in next week. Maybe. Can't schedule anything until they arrive. No guarantees. Vicki tells me on the phone that the 9/20 date was only a tentative date of having things in the warehouse, but--in her own words--"they didn't tell you that". No, they didn't. My biggest beef is the total lack of communication. They know they're only giving me a tentative date, but they don't tell me that, so, having the bad habit of believing what people tell me, I make my plans around the date I'm told. Then, when they can't meet the promised date, there is no attempt to reach out and let me know; rather, I have to call them to find out what's happening. Twice (so far). It seems that a partial delivery (everything but the bed rails) is out of the question unless I can pick up the bed rails myself at some later date. No, I can't. Sorry then, tough luck. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect companies to keep their word or, with unexpected mitigating circumstances, to let the customer know what's happening and offer to do whatever possible to alleviate the inconvenience. I ordered a number of things from Value City (right next door). They delivered the majority of the items within a week, and have diligently kept me updated regarding the back-ordered items. This level of communication makes all the difference. Heaven forbid Ashley would have to make an extra phone call or two or even make an extra delivery run for the sake of customer service and satisfaction. From what I'm reading in the other reviews now (too late), it seems they may not be very well acquainted with that concept. Caveat emptor. read more

I recently purchased a drawer. When I got the item, one of the pieces was damaged on arrival, so my husband and I had to wait an entire MONTH before we got that part again. The parts then didn't fit at ALL together. When we called customer support, they refused to give a refund. I understand that the refund time is 72 hours, but we cannot control the time it took for the part we needed to come. This is truly unacceptable. This place is a scam. I ordered my new couch in March, it was delivered by April and broken by June. The seat portion of the couch just collapsed one day (mind you my husband and I are not particularly heavy people and our corgi is, well corgi sized) and considering it was so new I called Ashley furniture to see what could be done to potentially repair it, they had me email photos of the couch in different angles and said someone would get back to me in 5-10 business days, a month went by with no response so I called again and went through the process once more and was given the same 5-10 business day time frame, that was at the end of July, it is now mid September and I have not heard from them. I finally just decided to order a new couch from a different store because 4 months with a broken couch is just too long, I would not recommend Ashley to anyone. read more

I finally spoke to someone and was told the items had been at the showroom for who knows how long, and I was never called or told. I then scheduled delivery two weeks out. (Is less than a "star" possible?). This review relates to the Ashley Home Store (in Sterling, VA in our case) and its "all sales are final" policy. We bought a couch / chase / ottoman combo from Ashley in late August 2021. The delivery team arrived today, October 26th. The couch - which we measured for length - would not fit into the interior entry into our living room. We tried multiple options to no avail - and we had to put the furniture back on the truck. Ashley called us to remind us of our options and that "all sales were final". I get it - sort of - we really wanted the furniture- but it would not fit inside our home. Ashley Furniture should absolutely make an exception to this arcane "all sales are final" rule. Especially in cases were the furniture bought, cannot fit into the customer's home. Completely done with Ashley Furniture. Maybe more to add as we go to the store to try to spend down our credit. read more

I went to the Sterling store, the couch on display is what I ordered and I specifically asked for a particular delivery date as I was not going to be home prior to that date. They delivered early, and it was the wrong couch! The manager of the store even said it is a different couch, the feel is completely different and the color is off too. I submitted the claim via their "customer care" department which is completely SHIT! Have been going back and forth with them for 1 month now and they have continuously hung up on me, been negligent, extremely unprofessional and provided the WORST customer care service I have ever experienced in my life! We had a generally good experience at the store. Helpful staff and nice options. We ordered a couch the same day we visited because they were able to deliver 3 days later and we had visited so many stores that we were ready to buy. I didn't read all the horrible reviews until after our visit, and got a little worried that the delivery would be delayed. To our surprise, the delivery was on schedule and the delivery truck actually came earlier than the expect timeframe. Delivery guys were nice and quick. Unfortunately, the sales guy ordered the wrong color couch. Luckily we were fine with both colors, so it ended up being fine. But that's a huge mistake since he double checked with us on the color. He put in the incorrect item number so we got the light grey vs the dark grey. Wouldn't have mattered if I complained to delivery guys because that's what's located on the invoice. They should really have a better way to confirm item/color when checking out. The couch isn't as comfortable as it was in the store, but hopefully it just needs to be worn in. Doesn't feel like a lounging or napping couch but a couch you could work on your laptop. I'd consider returning for more furniture but a bit weary now. read more

They also delay the delivery as much as they can. We ordered dining, bedroom, and living room sets that took a whole 2 months away from the delivery date they contractually promised.
