Solid Thai food at reasonable prices. I actually found this place because I was lost, looking for something else, and decided to give it a shot. While they don't do sushi on Mondays and Tuesdays, the Thai options are not bad. They've got rather small portions and they do charge for extra rice, but otherwise, it's okay. Service was a little slow on the night I went, but I'm sure that's due to the fact that it was cold, a Tuesday, and sort of late (apparently dinner at 8pm is late). We have been here twice. Both times service was excellent, our table seems clean and tidy. We got the spider roll along with our dinner entrees. I ordered the pad see ew and my husband ordered Mongolian beef both were hot when they arrived at our table. I placed an order for chicken yakisoba over the phone for pickup. I have done this twice now thinking maybe the first time was a goof and everyone needs a little grace. The price is a bit high at $17 after tax for one serving. I figured it must be very good with sizable portions. I was wrong on both fronts. I've eaten here plenty of times over the years. I've always enjoyed it and found the menu to be good. Unfortunately things seem to have slowly gotten worse over the years. My to go orders are almost always wrong. I've ordered the pineapple fried rice and received no pineapples in it, or it tasted like white rice with some other things thrown in, ordered the honey shrimp and received chicken instead, etc. The service is ok. I've had friendly servers, and I've had some pretty poor ones. The handmade spring rolls are the best I've had in ages. The food always meets and exceeds expectations! This is my go to for dinner when I am in town. The staff are attentive and polite. Positives: Our waitress was so pleasant and prompt. Order came out pretty fast and the eating area was clean. Not so positive: Dish was entirely too sweet (like candied chicken) and had so much sauce that it could have been used on two other dishes. This restaurant has a great layout, with a bar, lots of table seating, and a prominent sushi bar. I was dining alone, so I didn't mind sitting at the bar. I had the pineapple fried rice. It was great- and quite a magnificent hill of steaming rice and pineapple with bits of shrimp, chicken, and cucumber tucked in. I had a total carb-out. I called in a order to go of swimming Ramon , I was told it would be $9.75 , I get there an I was told it was gonna be 13.02 that the guy who took my order accidentally charged the lunch price, I said um ok well I only have 10$ the order wasn't for me , I understand the employee was new hire however I feel that you should Honor the price as just good customer service, the girl said her computer wouldn't let her over ride the price, I really didn't have the other $ on me or I would have paid, so I asked for the mangers name as I would call at a later date, I am a regular customer an I know that the order would just end up in the trash anyway, the server got noticeably annoyed, I responded, don't take it personal I understand I just would like the manger name an handed her the business card for her to provide name, she's fussing with the system then says she can over ride she just needs to note the system that she's a shift supervisor??? So the first time I asked If they'd just honor the pricing as it wasn't for me and I really didn't have the extra dollars she couldn't help me but if because the system wouldn't allow it but when I asked to complain all the sudden she could fix it quite a disappointing customer service experience at one of my favorite places in the valley!!! Good service, the host sat us quickly and the server was really sweet. I would give 5 star for service alone ! The food however was a disappointment. My date orderdd a pad bai and it was very soggy and overcooked. He is usually my human garbage disposal as i am picky and he is not. He did not like this, it was very sweet as well. I had the Mongolian beef. It was deep fried then stir fried so it is crunchy. I really loved the texture but the flavor was off. It was so sweet and salty at the same time. Move over dear Leader, it is this restaurant that is #1 in the hearts and minds of the people! Hard to go wrong with real crab in the sushi, one roll came without whatever spicy sauce was represented by the spicy pepper icon next to the name in the menu, but hey, it was good and clean tasting. My haiku for sakura didn't hold up as far as structure goes, so I won't bother here, though Asian 1 is worth it. Believe you, me, they're worth it. :-) Simple sushi menu which is reassuring that they're not juggling more things that they can't handle. Two words: Pad Thai. Outstanding pad Thai here! The atmosphere is trendy Asian and there is a full bar set up in the middle with the dining area surrounding it. I eat here 2-3 times a week, it's actually kind of embarrassing how often I do. I usually get take out, but have eaten in the restaurant 7-8 times. I've probably had take out about 30-40 times. Everything I've tried is excellent, and the service is always good, too. My favorite menu item here is the Pad See Ew. It's always cooked to perfection and very flavorful. I'm not sure what kind of tiny beans are in it, but I eat a lot of Pad See Ew and it usually doesn't have the delicious beans that Asian 1 does. I've also had: Mongolian beef, Thai fried rice, honey glazed chicken (amazing!), pad kee mao, pad Thai, garlic chicken, and tempura ice cream. All excellent. read more

This place has a pretty good selection of different types of Asian food. This is the second time I've come here and I would come back. The first time we had a couple different appetizers, both were good. Chicken satay and spring rolls. We also had drinks.The second time we got meals. Swimming Rama and Phad Thai. Swimming Rama was really good. Phad Thai was good to except they don't give you an option for fresh or fried tofu. They just gave me the fried and I don't care for it much. I work at Asian1 and I love eating here as well. If you ask me I will tell you exactly what I like and I could go on and on because it's easy when the product sells it self. We have a crazy happy hour from 3 to 5 and 8 to close which is 25% off the whole bill. I mean that's just nuts. My favorite dish is pad tai and my new favorite sushi roll is the muay tai which is a tempura battered prawn rolled up topped with avocado, basil, and siracha with peanut sauce and sweet chilli to dip. The flavors are incredible together. We also have a new martini called the irish summer that I'm very fond of. Our staff is very helpful and accommodating to people's needs. After about 9 months of abstinence from Asian 1, my wife and I stopped in for dinner Monday evening. We were pleasantly surprised! Our last experience was miserable (see below). But we had a completely different experience on Monday. First of all, our server - Kelli - did a great job. She was attentive without being intrusive. And all of the other Asian 1 employees seems to be on top of things as well - there wasn't anyone standing around chatting, ignoring customers. Our appetizer - lettuce wraps with chicken - was great. And our entrees - Pineapple Fried Rice and Sweet & Sour Chicken - were amazing, too. Everything was tasty, and the pineapple fried rice was enough for an entire meal the next day! We got water when we sat down and that was it for about 35 minutes!! we were busy talking at the table so we really didn't notice how long it was then finally someone comes to the table to the right from us gives them food or drinks and passes our table says nothing goes to the table to the left of us and asks how the food is after she starts to walk away at this point I kindly call her and say we are ready to order she tells us she will be right back and never comes I'm not sure if she was our waiter cause after the water came no one else came to talk to us about our food or anything all I saw was coworkers talking and laughing not doing their job just hanging around the bar so unprofessional do not recommend unless they get better staff! We walked out almost an hour after not getting helped by no one while I could see 4-5 employees doing nothing!! When we walked out the guy who sat us down didn't even say bye or anything horrible horrible experience!! Do better!! Mind you when we entered the restaurant that same guy in the front almost ran me and my baby over running trying to tell the people who just left "have a good day" like what!?
