    Fried Rice w/ pork
    Terrell R.

This is a quaint Asian cuisine eatery located in the old town area. The space is filled with small wooden tables seemingly perfect for more intimate outings. I stopped in for a quick lunch. it wasn't terribly busy aside from the friendly regulars who were eating at the table next to me. The service was timely and hospitable as I was able to order quickly and was offered drink refills pretty routinely throughout my time there. Their menu features appetizers like summer rolls, veggie gyoza, crab & chicken shumai, and entrees like lemongrass pan fried noodles, broccoli stir fry, pad thai, and lo mein with your choice of protein as prices range from about $10-$20 per item. I kept it simple and tried the fried rice with pork. Overall excellent dish: large portion size, a sufficient amount of protein, and a nice combination of ingredients with the shredded carrots, bell peppers, peas, scallions and onions. I'll certainly be returning to try out a few more of their menu items.

Loved this place! The restaurant had a very cozy vibe to it. I was met with great hospitality and accommodating staff, which allowed me to have a pleasant dining experience. I had several rolls, pad see ew, and mango sticky rice. All of which were tasty and flavorful! Would definitely come back here!

Eel avocado, 2 speciality rolls on right

The ratings are accurate. I would say this is a mediocore sushi/asian spot. I went for lunch. Service is amazing! Food came out very quick. I gave 3 stars because the sushi rolls weren't anything special. Eel avocado was the best one but the California roll and spicy tuna didn't taste super fresh. Plenty of space, a bit dark, but not super busy for being on king st. Crab ragoon was good however miso soup didn't have much flavor. Salad was fresh and used better leaves of lettuce than most asian spots.

After a day on Amtrak and about 8 miles of walking around DC and Alexandria, we were tired and hungry. We literally picked this place because it was right next to our Airbnb. None of us were really craving Asian, but here we were. Well, Look no further if you are looking for an explosion of tastes in Old Town, Alexandria. Starving or not, we would have recognized the expertise in the chef's knowledge this cuisine. Three of us ordered to share. The rolls were outstanding, the warmth complimenting the textures. We could actually taste the crab in the Crab Rangoons. This is not always the case, often times, whatcha get is some cream cheese without any hint of crab. The General Tso's Chicken was fresh, clean and crisp tasting. I'm not really a fan because I usually sense a smokey flavor. No smokey here. Perfection! My friend ordered a tofu dish with vegetables that was probably some of the best flavored tofu I'd ever eaten. THAT takes talent! My choice was a shrimp and cashew fried rice which was so flavorful I couldn't stop. With all the restaurants to chose from in Old Town, I would make it a point to stop here at Asian Bistro. It's on my "gotta go here again" list.

Really shocked by the reviews after eating here. It could be because I had such low expectations but the pad Thai was really good. It 100% had flavor and it was cooked really well. Staff was kind and extremely attentive. I'm very happy with the overall experience here

    Hunan Stir Fry (with beef)

A beautiful and rather large interior. The lighting was calm and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We are pretty happy to have discovered this place and look forward to trying more dishes from them in the future. What we got: Tom Kha soup - 4* I really enjoyed it. The lemon is on the stronger side and to get 5 stars from me it would have to have just a smidge less. It also didn't seem very coconut based and looked more red which surprised me but it was still very delicious. I'd order it again. General Tso - 4* great flavor! I loved scooping up the extra sauce and eating it with my rice. The chicken chunks are rather large and I think I would've preferred them to be a bit smaller, but they were also easy to eat and bite into smaller pieces. (Probably could've cut them easily too, I just never even thought to pick up my knife, chopsticks all the way!) Hunan Stir Fry - 3.5* while a very good dish the sauce seemed heavy on the soy sauce. I was expecting it to have a bit more of a spicy kick to it as it was advertised as a spicy sauce but it didn't. The vegetables were cooked very well and we really liked the beef as our meat option.

First time trying drunken noodles and I loved it! It was so flavorful with just the right amount of spice. I have zero complaints and I can't wait to try them again. Ordered this for lunch and the portion size was perfect and very filling.

This place is so cute. I've heard they have a great lunch special, but we went for dinner and it was perfect. Serving size was just right and the food was super tasty and well priced. It seemed there was only one server on the floor, but he did a wonderful job checking in on everyone and making sure all were satisfied. The food comes out super fast too! Loved the decorations, the vibe, and the experience. Totally recommend!

Asian bistro has always been one of my favorite sushi spots in the DMV. I love how low-key the location is and the flavors are always immaculate. It was my first time trying the crab wontons and I was not disappointed. They were absolutely delicious and came out hot and fresh. Service is always great as well. Service are always attentive.

    Appetizer Asian Sampler

Clean and bright atmosphere. I wanted to love the food, but it was just ok - aside from the dipping sauce for the spring rolls! It's like pineapple something heaven. Had the appetizer sampler, it was a fun way to try a variety of things. I ordered the crab fried rice and couldn't really find any crab in it. My glass never got below half-full. The service was very prompt.

So let me get this off of my chest... I HATED the sushi from here! It lacked flavor and heat (spice). I couldn't taste any of the fish in the rolls. How disappointing! The jalapeños in one of my rolls was fresh, flavorful and delicious. I guess I should mention what rolls were ordered, huh? Well.... Spicy Yellow Tail, spicy tuna, tuna jalapeño, and the NM roll. The Yum Beef salad was pretty good. The meat was perfectly tenderized and delicious. I also ordered a wonton soup that had 3 wonton. The broth was delicious!

Made a quick stop to Asian Bistro for lunch during the week. The service was quick and staff was friendly. I had an order or drunken noodles that came with a side salad. The salad was fresh but I didn't think the dressing went well with it. The drunken noodles were a little on chopped up but had good flavor and just the right amount of heat. I've never had green beans in drunken noodles before but it adds a nice little crunch to the dish.

They walked us to our table and was so accommodating. On an extremely hot day like today (103F) it was refreshing to walk into a nice cool and nicely lit and decorated place. It was very relaxing. The parking was off the street and is free for 2 hours. There were plenty of spots available just at the front of the restaurant. We ordered the Whole Fried Flounder and the Massaman Curry with shrimp and for dessert the Magnolia Creme Crepe. I am partial to good Crepe dessert... and this place offered different selection. A plus! The food was freshly prepared and was very tasty. I would recommend trying this place out. You will not be disappointed.

4 stars for the food 4 stars for the ambiance…read more3 stars for the service on the water refills, which was sporadic at best. Last night I brought a couple of friends over to the Sisters Thai in Alexandria ... because I had had good experiences in the past. We were seated at our table of four, and had to wait 20 mins to be served water from the start. That was unusual - and although the restaurant was busy it was not packed, so the delay was odd. We ordered the food which was great - high recommendations for the branzino, the crispy eggplant, the roti curry and the mango & sticky rice. The water service was challenging; at one point during the meal when a server came to do a refill, she spilled the water on the table near the food dishes - apologized - but didn't clean up! (It was not a few drops - it was a sizeable amount that warranted wiping up since our group had to reach over for the food dishes in the center). She took off after right after spilling it - and didn't come back! So I eventually caught the eye of another sever and asked for the water to be wiped down. The evening went on - the meal really noteworthy ... but water was clearly becoming more and more of an issue - and this was critical especially considering that the roti curry was spicy! After yet another 20 minutes of trying to catch the eye of anyone with a pitcher I had to get up and request water from the bar area. So although the evening was pleasant it was somewhat disruptive with this lack of coordination - which is really is a basic of any establishment. I would go back again for the food - although I'm disappointed that I brought friends along to try the restaurant and the service was not as expected. As I write this I want to add that if it was a one-off with a water delay I would understand - but it was consistently overlooked, without a spillage being wiped promptly that started to create a less than satisfactory experience. Thank you in advance to the Sisters Thai for more training for their staff on enhancing the customer experience.

Set in Alexandria, off the 495 corridor, is Pasara Thai restaurant featuring a casual dining experience and vibe with interesting tables with wood carvings and artwork throughout. The lighting is nice and you can find intimate settings for a date night or tables large enough for friends and family. The food menu is crazy big, extensive and seems to have something for everyone. The food is usually quite spicy, so if it isn't your thing, as for mild flavoring! Everything I have ordered from the pad Thai, curry Thai dishes and roasted duck have been delicious....full of flavor and of great portions for the price point. This time around, I placed an order to go for dinner later, and the staff was so nice. I ordered Roasted Duck Basil & Fried Crab-Shrimp Balls. The duck dish was one of the best I have ever had. Was seated by a delightful young lady, and found the decor and layout to be quite pleasing; modest by elegant. As for the fare, it was indeed quite worth the walk. The Tom Yum was solid and quite flavorful, a flux of tangy lemongrass with the oniony sweetness of steeped scallions, and enoki mushrooms to provide some heartiness. The Pad Thai Mun Goong was a chef specialty pad Thai made with stir fried rice noodle, prawns shrimp tomalley oil (a crucial element for this version), egg and bean sprouts, naturally topped with green onions, peanuts and a lime for squeezing, and this also was quite phenomenal. Savory, sweet, a little tingle of sourness from the citrus in the mid-palate, and the juicy, briny shrimp balancing the dense carbs and rich flavorful sauce.
