UPDATE #2 I'm upgrading this to 5 stars . The owner takes great pride in his restaurant and it shows in the quality of the food. Everything was PERFECT. I had the Thai Lemongrass Chicken- it was perfect. The Hot and Sour Soup was just as good as last time. I tried the steamed dumplings. I've been to some pretty high end dumpling restaurants in Seattle. With the exception of those, these are the best I've had. Definitely the Best in San Antonio. And for the price...awesome. The owner called me ti check on my order. What a great guy. He really cares. And that caring is reflected in the quality of the food. THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE ASIAN RESTAURANT. Thank you Mr Lee!! UPDATE! I'm upgrading this to a 3 from a 2- Mr Lee, the Manager saw my review- where I called balls and strikes. He was very polite- and concerned that I had a bad experience. I appreciate that. He explained some issues, believed a mistake was made on my order- he went into detail and was sincere. He was truly interested in finding out what had gone wrong and asked me to give them a chance to fix it. Detail: They are under new management and new ownership starting June 1 so some of the info on Yelp is obsolete and does not reflect current menu and status- in particular, items listed the heath score have been corrected. Despite the fact the next inspection is not due for months, Mr Lee is requesting a new inspection to show the items have been corrected. ORIGINAL POST - edited post conversation with Mr Lee Short version- The appetizers were very good or great- the entree was problematic. Ordered -Tempura Shrimp- not bad, not nothing like the photo- which was light tempura instead of the very heavy batter on these- Mr Lee explained the restaurant website reflects the current photo and that Yelp does not allow deletion of old photos) -Hot and Sour soup- FANTASTIC, among the best I've had - Edamame- pretty standard fare but theirs was a bit better, fresh, big portion, and perfectly salted with sea salt -Chicken Lo Mei - poorly prepared. Noodles were not freshly made.Hey I get it, inflation is tough but I got 3 bite size pieces of chicken for a $13 entree. The carrots and onions were just a gossamer thin veil over a mass of noodles. Mr Lee says this was a mistake- the standard for that entree is 10 Oz (before cooking) of chicken. read more

This place is average at best something was definitely off about the beef and chicken the chicken tasted like Walmart meat that front lady was super nice nothing wrong with customer service but I think for around this area there is just not much around so people think this is delicious which is concerning a bit because that shows me they never had great quality food read more

Run... don't walk! We have a new favorite Asian restaurant. We ordered the edamame, crispy beef, Brussels sprouts, and fried shrimp. I had to beg my kids to let me try the shrimp. They weren't sharing. The shrimp is super crispy with a delicious spicy mayo type sauce to go with it. The crispy beef was lightly fried and flavorful. The Brussels sprouts were perfectly cooked! The people here are super sweet. I think most of their business is to go but we dined in. They came to check on us and and were super helpful. read more

If you haven't tried Asian Bite, you've really missed this gem on the north side! This locally owned family restaurant uses family recipes from Southeast Asia, where you'll see Asian, Cantonese, Chinese, Szechuan influences in their selection. They take pride in each dish, with each one made to order from the wok. And we could tell! Tonight was our fourth visit, and each time really warranted a five star review. We ordered the cheese rangoon to start. Perfectly crispy and warm. We also shared the veggie spring rolls and fried gyozas. Both equally crispy and tasty! Hubby ordered the Thai pineapple fried rice, and I ordered the signature chicken fried rice. Excellent! The Thai pineapple fried rice is not overwhelming or too spicy, according to the hubby, but I'll stick to my low spice lane of signature chicken friend rice. The portions are generous, so we both have enough to share for a lunch date tomorrow. I still didn't get a pic to share, because I didn't want to wait to dig in. Maybe next time... We ordered at the counter, and the sweet young lady brought the order to our table. If that's a big deal to anyone, it's not "full service" dining. I don't think you'll miss it though. San Antonio does not have great Asian food. This place is an exception. It is a very casual almost fast food environment but my meal was great. I had Kung Pao Chicken, white rice and an egg roll. Price was very reasonable. Portions were generous and the food was very tasty. I'll definitely be back. read more

Small cute place. Easy access off the hwy. It took about 16 min to get my food. Bit longer than I would have liked. I was the only customer ordering, one table by the front door had 6 people eating, they already had their food. So I'm not sure what took so long. I got the dish the cashier recommended- chicken basil with fried rice. It was okay, way too many green peppers and sliced onion. It was all white meat and no grizzly pieces so that was nice! The fried rice was good. I also got an order of pot stickers/dumplings also good especially with the dipping sauce. I will probably go back but wouldn't get the basil chicken again. It's was 24.00 bucks which seems kinda pricey for a meal for 1 but it was a decent portion. read more

Came here while driving through SA and ate here based on Yelp reviews. (Easy access off 281) I ate their sesame shrimp and it was nearly the best I've ever had! Only complaint there is it was in too much sauce, but it was super crispy and delicious! Fried rice was not the typically oily rice--it was lightly fried and not overly seasoned. My first time at Asian Bite, my boyfriends second. He loved his experience the first time saying the mongolian beef (his favorite dish) is the best here. Very cute spot, I liked the artwork on the walls and the place was very clean with nice, casual dining tables. The gentlemen at the counter was kind and helpful. We of course got mongolian beef again with fried rice, chicken pad thai, and egg drop soup. The mongolian beef was amazing and the fried rice had lots of flavor! The chicken pad thai was unlike any i've had before but was delicious and I enjoyed something new. The egg drop soup was tasty but I would've appreciated maybe some wonton chips on the side and/or green onion inside with more egg. We appreciated how fast the food came, it was very hot and fresh. So we decided to expand our take out horizons and try some place new, so we tried Asian Bite. First off- let saw that service could not be better for take out orders. The gentleman who took my payment and handed my food to me seemed happy to be there. The food was okay. It wasn't great nor was it bad. To be fair however, we did not know what to expect so we ordered different offerings including an appetizer. Spring rolls were good. I could eat a plate of those with hot mustard. Gyoza seems soft and mushy. To be fair we heated them up later in a skillet and they became quite tasty. The entrees were okay. Nothing stood out which is good and bad. The fried rice and the white rice were both good sides. The fried rice was not overdone nor was it soggy, We will order from here again and give them another try. It was fine for our likings. I visited Asian Bite after reading reviews here. Let me tell you, the sesame chicken was delicious. There was a light crispy crust and yummy sauce. The hot sesame balls for dessert were definitively the highlight though! Warm, crispy with toasty sesame seeds and chewy glutinous rice and sweet bean paste inside. Amazing!!! The owner was super friendly and obviously proud of her restaurant, conscientious about keeping it clean and checking in on the few customers that we're dining in. I found this eat in/take out restaurant from searching on the internet while in the area. The restaurant is clean and bright and they have a A/100 rating from the health department posted inside. I ordered the Yakisoba with chicken which was delicious with freshly cooked vegetables and tender seasoning. The Yakisoba sauce was spot - on. I also got the milk tea which was refreshing and sweet. Great food and service!! I made a last minute decision that I wanted some Chinese food, and decided to try Asian Bite. They knocked it out of the park with a great overall experience. The menu has a good selection, so I went to a classic - General's chicken, with some mini veggie spring rolls, noodles, and a side of vegetarian fried rice. Fed 2 of us with left overs of the noodles and fried rice. Food was very well prepared, Generals sauce could use bit more heat, but still very tasty. Spring rolls were great - they put a good amount of veggie in the little rolls ( a side on the Generals order). The noodles and fried rice were both done perfectly, with fresh vegetables.
