Wow! Terrible food tonight. I'm shocked. The chicken and broccoli was good as usual so no complaints there. We decided to try the Mongolian Chicken. The description states: Mongolian Style Chef's Special Chinese BBQ Garlic Sauce and snow peas. As you can see by the photos the chicken was atop a bed of noodles. The noodles were not in the description. I didn't taste any garlic at all and there was no BBQ sauce to be had. Both the lo mein and Mongolian chicken lacked flavor. You know that feeling, when you're craving some good Chinese food and don't know where it try. This place is one of the better ones in the area (3-4 others nearby I do not recommend) but this one is not spectacular but very solid It's moved directly across the street from where it used to be.(same side of the street and parking lot as the shop rite) The happy family was good, a little salty but hits the spot. Asian Delight is one of those places you would pass by, as it appears from the exterior a run of the mill Chinese takeout restaurant. This place exceeded that expectation! The food is always fresh an delicious. The flavor combinations are creative. I have always ordered takeout or a party platter to go, but my daughter was home and wanted sushi, so I chose Asian Delight despite the other Japanese restaurant options nearby. Half the restaurant has seating from booths to tables and chairs. We were able to have a sit down dinner and she was very impressed the quality of the sushi. Very clean and the owners are wonderful and friendly. This place is a hidden gem! read more

This the first time we have taken out from the new, smaller location. The food was fine, but not even bland . . . it really was tasteless. The sauce with the Moo Shu Pork didn't even taste like Hoisin. The only thing that had any taste was the Cold Sesame Noodles and they were way too sweet. Whenever I come to visit family here in Jersey, I always come here! Favorites are the General's chicken as well as the Bernards Roll. They also have started doing dine-in even though there is a sign says take-out only, but you can ask them and they will let you sit. I have to say, it's been a while (years) since we ordered food from Asian Delight. We decided to try them again recently, and we are glad we did. Not only is their Chinese food excellent, but their sushi is the favorite among ask of the sushi eaters in our house. The Chinese staples like chicken and broccoli, chicken and snow peas, general tso's chicken, Happy Family (general chicken plus shrimp) , are all fresh and delicious. Unlike a lot of other Chinese restaurants where the food is overly greasy, this food tastes better and healthier. You don't feel lethargic after eating it. As for the sushi, I admit I was shocked at how great it is. The rolls (try the spicy California and the tempura dragon rolls) are my favorite, but some sashimi orders have shown that their fish is fresh and tasty. They are not hiding behind sauces to make a tasty roll. I highly recommend. By the way, super nice people, too. read more

Nothing on the menu stands out from standard chinese-american fare, though I have stuck mostly to the lunch specials (which have been average). This place just wasn't very good. I had the shrimp with lobster sauce. They gave me a plate with maybe 12 shrimp on it with a bunch of "lobster sauce." It didn't fill me up. My girlfriend had the "philly roll," which was the same as a JB roll. It was pretty bad. I tried it, and wasn't exactly begging for another piece. We told them at the beginning of the meal that we were in a hurry. So, it was kind of disappointing that after waiting far too long for our check, that they brought out the check for the only other group of people in the restaurant, who got entirely different menu items. We let them know of their mistake. They took the check back to the register and talked amongst themselves for about 10 minutes, making us even more late. We eventually just got up and walked to the register where they gave us the right check. Not going back. I really didn't enjoy it. I gave the second star out of pity. :( They made us late to see Jurassic World and we had to sit in the front row of the imax theater. Thanks a lot Asian Delite! read more

Have to confess my expectations were low when I saw that the place serves both Chinese and Japanese food, but it was a solid choice for a quiet and tasty lunch. Sushi is available here with various special rolls but we only tried Chinese: Szechuan beef, chicken and sole. Nice food with plenty of veg but nothing fancy or gourmet, the entrees are thoroughly Americanized food of course and "spicy" doesn't mean much here. The Asian Delite lunch menu price of about $10 included hot tea, bowl of soup and your choice of white or brown rice. The sole Szechuan style arrives deep fried, the menu kinda skips that detail. The large fish chunks were crisp and piping hot, served along with a generous bowl of spicy sauce loaded with peas and other diced veg. Well not actually spicy, altho I ordered it spicy it arrived mild-medium. The food is good. Way overpriced. I went in to pick up food my wife called in. Our usual: soup, egg rolls, broccoli beef and sesame chicken. I couldn't believe the total was over $50. I compared their new menu to the one from earlier in the year we keep at home. The soup went up from $3.95/quart to $5.50. That's an increase of 28%! Broccoli Beef is up from $11.50 to $13.25, a mere 13% increase. I know the economy is taking a hit, but at those prices I am looking elsewhere for Chinese food. read more

For $11.95, I could have gone to Kings, next door and purchased the noodles for $3.00.. Gee, I would have thought for better quality and ingredients. I travel quite a bit and quite frankly get kind of tired of eating the same old thing. While in Basking Ridge I found the aptly named Asian Delight. I used the "maps" app on my phone to find it and as such saw the Yelp reviews. The reviews were kind of mixed, but more positive than negative so I gave it a chance. I will start by saying that the portion sizes are huge for the price. If you are eating alone you may find that a large might be too much, unless you really like leftovers!
