Hunan Chicken and Shrimp Egg roll
    Scott H.

I visited Asian Garden for the first time a few days ago. As with all shopping center Chinese places, I ordered the Hunan Chicken with steamed rice and a shrimp egg roll. The food was ready when I got there and they keep your order in an insulated bad behind the counter to keep it warm. That's a very nice touch That I've never seen before. From checking in on Yelp, I also got a free fountain drink as well. The Hunan chicken was cooked very nicely and with an appropriate amount of heat. The vegetable medley was crisp, but not mushy. The egg roll was flaky on the outside with juicy cabbage and some shrimp. Also very flavorful. Outside there is a nice shaded patio area to boot. I had a very good experience and will be back when in the area.

Order: Shrimp Toast + Shrimp Lo Mein LO MEIN: The shrimp lo mein was very tasty and made with love. Perfect amount of seasoning; I really loved the scallions / green onions, and amount of shrimp. Nice slices of carots. I finish it all! Though I thought there would be more lol. SHRIMP TOAST: I was unable to eat the shrimp toast. It's mainly onion inside; which left this disgusting taste in my mouth from the first bite. This WAS my first time trying shrimp toast; which I did not expect finely grained onion. Each bite of the toast felt like I was eating an entire onion. They are cooked to be edible; I was munching on them the entire time. .. I had to spit it out. I'm not sure if I'll be back.

Nice, small, Asian restaurant near the Tanger Outlets area. Has a wide mix of Asian cuisines, from sushi and hibachi, to pad Thai. I opted for the chicken hibachi lunch meal which was a great deal for the price. Good portion sizes, and the lunch portions also come with salad or soup! The food came out very quickly and it was pretty good! Nothing to complain about, but nothing outstanding. A decent pick if you're looking for asian food in the area.

This is your typical Chinese/American type place. Cheap lunch menu. Food average but hot at least. Feels a bit cleaner than most of these places. Weird thing is the 2 people working here must be husband and wife, and the absolutely hate each other, they were screaming at each other the whole time, which was entertaining due to the big window which allows you to see what's going on in the kitchen! Hopefully they seek some marriage counseling, lol!

Very good, mom and I both had a fantastic dinner. Szechuan beef had a nice zing and the chicken and vegetables had good chicken and a lot of veggies as well. We will be back

Today, we had delivery ordered: Combination plates - which included rice and an egg roll or spring roll. 1. Curry Chicken 4/5 - tender chicken, a lot of flavor! A little on the spicy side, but the flavor profile is good for a Chinese restaurant. They had veggies in there, that I could leave out. Ask for only onions and the chicken in the sauce (if anything). 2. Chicken lo mein 3/5 - the chicken again was very tender. They give ALOT for your money. Wasn't overly flavorful - kinda of your basic lo mein add chicken. It wasn't oily - that's a plus as well.

Ordered pad Thai and veggie pad see ew. Both were probably the worst Thai dishes I've ever tasted. Pad Thai was drenched in oil and teriyaki sauce, THATS IT for the sauces. Making it very sweet and none edible. The pad see ew was very dry and had no flavor outside of some sweet sauce but still very dry. No egg either but some bean sprouts which don't even go with pad see ew. I did order some white hibachi sauce for a dollar and it was so runny and flavorless... the only good thing was the fires because they were fresh but those had no flavor either. Overall, they'll never have to worry about my money coming through there again. Hate that there are NO GOOD thai options that deliver downtown.

    Spicy Basil Chicken Lunch
    Lori R.

Counter-service spot that's serving up tasty Asian food for a very reasonable price. Stopped in for lunch, ordered at the counter. Sat at a booth and watched the Chef wok out some good-looking eats. Really enjoyed my Spicy Basil Chicken lunch loaded with peppers and onions, served with a decent fried rice. Liked the bottled Ginger Water drink option. Disliked the super thin plastic fork and that no knives were available. Next time I would probably do take-out and use my own utensils. Generous portion with the bottled drink was under nine bucks (before tip) for lunch. Nice variety on the menu. Plenty of parking as they are in a strip mall in Cary. Would definitely go back if in the area.

One of my favourite Chinese take out places .. we always order wonton soup, kungpao or Hunan chicken and egg rolls (I always tend to crave the same items) (the egg roll is not as crispy as I would like it) overall friendly staff and good food

I ordered the cold flour noodle with sesame sauce and the shaanxi mutton soak buns. Both were tasty and the cold noodles were refreshing. The employee described the mutton soak buns dish as a soup soaked pancake which is pretty accurate. It reminds me of a rice porridge but with chopped dough instead of rice. The restroom is in the back through the kitchen which is kinda cool because you can see them rolling out all the round flat bread that they use for the dishes. I'm guessing it's what they use for the rougamo (I've seen it at other Chinese restaurants described as a Chinese hamburger) and the shaanxi soak buns. It almost has a gnocchi type of consistency. It isn't your average fried rice and stir fry type of Chinese restaurant so if you're looking for something like that it might not meet your expectations. I would definitely come back to try other menu items. Also, get the plum juice. It's delicious!

Although I haven't gotten my favorite waitress during my last few visits, she made a point to come over and talk to me this last time. She even remembered my exact order and that I like it prepared without onions, which I truly appreciated! Unfortunately, the beef itself seemed a little rubbery. A few of the pieces were completely fine, so I am not sure whether the meat was just overcooked or had sat under a heat lamp too long before being served. The fried rice seemed better than ever, though, as was the eggroll. I think I will need to start trying some new vegetarian or alternative dishes here on my next visits to avoid the meat, as I still really enjoy the local atmosphere and excellent service.

I went for dinner on a Saturday and it was packed so expect a slight wait at peak hours. Parking can also be tight as it is located downtown. We were seated quickly and our food came out FAST! Great service. My friend and I shared the Scallion Pancake, Bang Bang Shrimp, Dry-Sautéed Green Beans, and Spicy Crispy Fish. We definitely got one too many dishes, but I am glad we got to try them. The Scallion Pancake was solid. It had the right amount of thinness and flakiness. I would love to taste more scallion next time, though. I think that the sauce that it came with was a bit sweet and I would rather a more savory or saltier sauce to pair with the pancake. The Bang Bang Shrimp was under the appetizer category but it looked like an entree. Lots of small shrimp in a creamy, sweet, and spicy chili sauce. I loved it! The Dry-Sauteed Green Beans were probably my least favorite dish. I wish it had a taste (or more of a taste) of soy sauce or garlic, but it was still decent. The Crispy Spicy Fish is definitely one of the most popular dishes here and it lived it up to the hype! Not sure what seasonings were on the fish, but it tasted a bit salty, spicy, and savory. The fish also tasted fresh to me. We also received complimentary rice, which was needed with our savory dishes! I would definitely come back here in the future! There are so many options for food on their menu and almost everything was a hit. Plus, service was fantastic. I've had the pleasure of eating some really good dim sum, and while I can admit that the dim sum here will never be as good as places in New York, I can say that they do a decent job and that the experience will be enjoyable for any eater. Rather than delivering dishes on the traditional cart, Dim Sum Asian Bistro uses a menu where you can mark off the dishes that you want. There are a lot of different steamed, fried, and a la carte options that you can choose from. A lot of the basics are done pretty well. They have good pan fried dumplings, shrimp dumplings, shao mai, and coconut pudding. They also have some other, complex dishes that we really enjoy. Their curry powder turnip cake is some of the best out there. The curry flavor pops and the fry is absolutely perfect. Crispy on the outside, but warm and soft on the inside. They also make their chicken feet really well, which is a tough one to do sometimes. I know that there will be some good options. Although Dim Sum Asian Bistro has some good things, they also serve some things that you would just be better off not ordering. They have three different types of rice crepe dishes with meat. Their best is easily the shrimp, and you should stick to that. In fact, I would avoid the beef version at all costs, it is made with a beef paste and the texture was so strange, it was kind of unappetizing! I also think their fried rice could use some work, and I think some items, like their custard buns, could have come from the frozen section. I think my family can be pretty critical about dim sum since it has been a big part of our personal culture. However, sometimes I feel I need to take a step back and look at it broadly. I've come here with some of my friends who don't eat dim sum consistently and they are always wowed by the experience. From that perspective, I can see how this place hits the mark. They serve pretty authentic food and make it taste good. There is always a buzz about the restaurant and people come and go over the weekend. It's no wonder you might have to wait to get a table, Dim Sum Asian Bistro is definitely doing something right!

I was actually worried about being full myself since I'm keto and I don't eat some of the items but I was plenty satisfied. They have a make your own sauce bar with a ton of offerings. Can't go wrong with peanut sauce and soy with some green onions. Perfect dipper. We also got two soup bases, one spicy one plain and they were both great. Service is really good. One of the kids dropped a tray of meat and they gave us another without asking which was very kind of them. All of the food comes on a cart and there really isn't a ton of room on the table for all of it so we were shifting plates around a lot and they would come by and take the empty or dirty plates very quickly. Drinks were never empty and everyone was friendly. It is a bit of an upscale style for a hot pot restaurant with some asian flair such as the Japanese toy vending machines. You can buy tokens for them at the desk, I think it was 6 for $5. Again, one of the kids dropped one under the machines and they just gave us another. I don't think any of them won anything anyway. I would definitely come back here for a date night but this place excels with groups and is very affordable with a big group so that's what I'd lean into if I was picking a hot pot restaurant.

Both arrived in no time, and were piping hot on a cold winter's day. The fried dumplings were crispy, not at all greasy, and filled with very flavorful filling, coupled with a perfectly paired dipping sauce. The hotpot... oh, the hotpot, was filled with pillowy fried tofu, fatty and tender beef, cabbage, wood ear mushroom shreds, seaweed, bean sprouts, and a ton of noodles. All of this was swimming in some of the most amazing Szechuan peppercorn broth that was spicy, but not numbing and not overpowering. It was the perfect broth to wrap each ingredient in flavor. After I finished all of the delicious beef and veggies, I went for the noodles. I never really new what "bouncy" meant when describing noodles until today. They were truly bouncy in with every bite, silky smooth, tender but with a little bit of bite to them. I ate every morsel that I could fit in my stomach and not explode... this was the perfect winter dish for this South Florida eater.

The quail egg was the heart of it. Got the bone broth this time. While the broth is good, it's not great to the point I'd crave for this. I'm honestly not a big fan of the rice noodles but they went well with the broth. My girl got the noodle dish with the beef tripe, and we also ordered beef tripe for appetizer and milky rice cake for dessert. The beef tripe is one of our favorite appetizers, and it's perfect with Japanese beer. The noodles are a bit spicy but the spice level was adjusted low to my girl's liking. The rice cakes were good but not the best we've tried. It's something we'd order again though. For 2 people, we ended up spending around $50, including tips, so reasonably priced but not as satisfying as a dim sum dinner. | Overall Score: | Overall Score: 4.1/5
