Loved Asian Harbor. I had the Mongolian Beef bento box. We also ordered the gyoza appetizer. Friends had orange chicken and teriyaki shrimp boxes and everyone loved their meals. Everything was wonderful (piping hot Miso-yum). The service was excellent, quick and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back to try more of the sushi rolls. The prices are super reasonable too. $12.95 for a dinner bento that includes soup, salad, spring rolls, Rangoon AND four California rolls with the main dish and fried rice. I wasn't too excited about trying Asian Harbor but I'm so glad I did! From the minute you walk in everyone is smiling and welcoming you. We were served our food very quickly and we liked it all. We tried several different dishes- Japanese, Chinese and Thai. I love that we could order all different types of Asian cuisine in one place- and they were actually made well. We also receive complimentary salads that the chef was trying out and it was delicious. We also had great conversations with the friendly staff members. There is free parking in the Marsh parking garage (same building) and metered parking along the street. The food is reasonably priced and you get a good amount of food for the money. Darn good sushi, I haven't been disappointed yet. I'm not crowning it best in town or anything, but it's quite good at a pretty reasonable prices, especially pricing on the regular maki rolls. They have a specialty roll with mango sauce on top that's probably our favorite, but everything we've tried there has been good. Unagi (eel) is my personal sushi favorite and they do it right here, with good portion sizes. Lunch sushi specials are a nice value as well, adding in soup alongside either 2 or 3 rolls (a shortened list, but many options available). I recommend the hot and sour soup, a solid 4+ star version, to go along with some eel or tuna rolls. read more

Amazing! Fourth time visiting and I can't tell you how great the service is, food is, and overall experience. All the employees treat you like a friend! It's a great atmosphere and extremely friendly!!! Overall I always get the Bento Box, and it's the perfect price for (Rice, Entree, Sushi, Rangoon, Spring Rolls, Soup, and even a Salad!)! YES, that's lunch for the next day as well! I also recommend the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura as an appetiser. I cant tell you the taste because you'll have to experience it for yourself. I wish there was a "get's the job done" option. It was serviceable food, good price, subpar service. I feel like carryout is the way to go. The inside is beautiful and clean, but service is not great. I was nearly finished with my hot and sour soup before they brought our drinks, and then only because I asked for them again. The food was ok, good sized portions, not the most delicious I have had, but tasty. I love General Tso's and this version was alright but too much ginger flavor for me and not at all spicy. The chicken was all white meat, but very overcooked and some pieces were pretty tough. But you got a large portion with chicken fried rice for less than $8. I might get carryout on the way home, but I don't see going back to dine in anytime soon. read more

Ehh... methinks not. A group of 6 friends and I visited Asian Harbor on a weeknight for a birthday celebration and I have to admit I was pretty disappointed. Not by the food. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were huge. However, the service was a huge miss for me and unfortunately, because of that, I don't think I am likely to return. The restaurant was not busy. At any one time, there were not more than 3 tables (including ours) in the place. Yet the servers were still flustered and confused as if the restaurant was at capacity. We started with appetizers - crab rangoons and edamame. The sushi chef also made us a salad on the house with crab, avocado, ginger dressing, etc. and it was delicious! Then we moved on to the sushi, and boy, did our waitress struggle. Not only did she not know what was in a lot of the rolls on the menu, but also she didn't know what was in any of the rolls on the specials board. She also got my order wrong. I don't want to say it was intentional, but I almost feel like it was, as one of the rolls she "thought I ordered" was over double the cost of what I actually did order. Two of my friends' orders were wrong as well. When she brought my incorrect rolls, I pointed out the mistake and she went back to the sushi chef. Then, she came back with the exact same rolls that I had said were incorrect!! I said I would take these rolls since they were already made and the rest of my party was eating, but indicated I did not want to be charged for the more expensive roll as it was not my error. The server agreed I would not be charged. When my bill arrived, what do you know, I was charged for the roll anyway! The server then played dumb and acted as though she didn't recall our conversation from several minutes prior where we agreed I would not be charged for a roll I did not order. I finally got the roll taken off my bill, but it was a struggle. It's disappointing that their service is so lackluster and discombobulated, because I thought the sushi and all of the food was delicious. However, the confusion and mistakes were so much so that I would rather not return. Splitting the checks was such a pain that one of my friends ended up paying for several of our meals just so we could get out of there faster - when all was said and done it was still about an 2 1/2 hour dinner. Yikes! I'd consider getting take out or delivery simply so I wouldn't have to interact with the staff for as long. I hope they can it get together for their sake and for the sake of downtown Indy, we desperately need a good Asian/sushi restaurant in the heart of the city. read more

I had the Chicken Broccoli combo plate. I stuffed myself twice on that and an order of Crab Rangoon. I was so happy with the quality of the food and speedy service. Good Chinese takeout is oddly hard to find around me, but this place hit the spot. The Crab Rangoon were probably the best I've ever had. Not a ton of crab bit they they were fried to perfection and full of filling. The broccoli was fresh and crunchy. It was perfectly sauced. The chicken fried rice was good, but there weren't a lot of veggies in it. Mostly just rice. But perhaps the entree one would have more. It was tasty nonetheless! The egg roll was delightfull! I ordered from the restaurant for the first time through Uber Eats. I was so pleasantly surprised! They package their food so thoughtfully (placed cardboard between my sushi and the soup so that it wouldn't get crushed, included to-go silverware, even placed a small piece of lettuce between the sushi and wasabi/ginger) and I received an extremely generous portion of food for the amount of I paid. I ordered the spicy maki combo and received three large rolls and a healthy serving of miso soup for less than $20. The sushi was fresh and delicious and the soup was piping hot and flavorful. I came here by myself about a month ago and had an amazing time. I sat at the sushi bar and the chef was amazing! He is INCREDIBLY fast if you haven't gotten a chance to see him working. He was very friendly and even gave me samples of some special relish. I ordered a house salad and the ginger dressing was satisfying. I ordered the lobster roll and while it was delicious, it was a little small. I am very partial to the lobster tempura roll at my favorite, TOMO. Overall, I just couldn't get over how wonderful the service was. The chef was so fun to interact with (which I didn't expect at all), that I don't even want to sit at the tables... I'd rather be at the sushi bar! Worth checking out if you are in the downtown area. They seem to have good lunch deals as well. read more

I was at Marsh today and noticed this new restaurant was open. I was not feeling well, so hot and sour soup sounded amazing. They had menus placed outside the front door, so I took a look at it while outside on the sidewalk. I finally walked inside to order a $5.95 lunch combo to go. Upon entering, I was completely wowed. The decor was very modern and inviting and the place was very clean, busy and had a sushi bar. The staff was very helpful at helping me pick out what I wanted to order. My wait time was only about five minutes. Everything was packaged to-go so nicely and they made sure I had all of the condiments and utensils I needed. Only problem was, when I got home, I didn't have my hot and sour soup :( I called them and they were very apologetic and told me they would double the size of my soup when I came back to get it. Thank goodness I only live a couple of miles away. I went back, got my soup and again, they were very apologetic and nice. The food was all wonderful and the portion sizes were generous. I got both lunch and dinner out of it! They deliver too! read more

I came during lunch hour and had the "Sushi Lunch" for 9.99 which is a choice of miso soup or salad, choice of California roll or spicy tuna, then 5 pc of sushi from the chef. The service was great, food was very prompt, however I am becoming disheartened at this spicy tuna trend. So many sushi restaurants are using this prepared spicy tuna mix to cut costs/increase efficiency but it's such a disgrace! read more

Food was amazing and came out extremely fast. There aren't that many people here but lots of door-dash orders and we got our food in under 10 minutes and an appetizer within 5 minutes of ordering. I ordered the 1st day they were open from grubhub for carryout. They accepted my order and said it was ready before I walked in. I walked into the restaurant and not only was my order not ready, but everyone who ordered at the counter getting their meal before mine, and they were getting it for half price. I watched 9 people come in, order, and get their food before me, but pay half what I did because I ordered online. I sat there for 45 minutes despite the fact that I ordered ahead of everyone else there, paid double what they did for their food, and was confirmed that the order was ready. I was apologized to frequently for the wait, but at no point was I offered any explanation as to why I waited 9 times longer than those ordering at the counter, or why they told grubhub it was ready, or why it was charged at twice the price as at the counter (delivered I would understand, but I picked it up). I live a block and a half away (315 N Senate). I had hoped it would be a place that I could carry out from often, but I was thoroughly disappointed. All said, the food was OK, but the experience was absolutely horrible. Due to that experience I would recommend either Bento Asian (mostly Japanese, $2.50 delivery) or the China King at 148 N Deleware (free delivery) for Asian delivery or carry-out. You just wonder kind of why your the only people in there on a Thursday during time. Makes me wonder about their menu because they have a lunch price and a dinner price and they are from $2-4 difference so are you giving me more food during dinner or just charging me more for dinner? I went to this place when it first opened and absolutely loved it. However I went yesterday for lunch and I was shocked as to how bad it was. The food was not as good as last time, it wasn't gross it was just not as tasty and fresh as the first time I went. It also took a long time until we got our food, at least a solid 15 minutes Secondly, the service there is absolutely terrible. There was one waitress for the whole restaurant, and while I usually am very apologetic of the person when it's only one person this case was different. She brought the wrong food to our table, and when asked for an ice water, she responded with "I am too busy to get that for you" and walked off. Went here for sushi with my girlfriend and was pleasantly surprised by this relatively new Asian restaurant! We sat at the bar and ordered 5 sushi rolls. The chef made us an appetizer and gave us free soup while we waited for our sushi! Our rolls were beautiful and tasted delicious. I've tried a sampling of everything here. The sushi is pretty good, but not as good as sushi boss. The Chinese dishes are overly oily and could be spicier--I prefer more authentic sorts of Chinese food and this is pretty Americanized. The Thai (Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai) was really not anything like Thai food. The Tom Yum has canned pineapple in it and the Pad Thai is odd, could use more vegetables, spice, meat--it's mostly just noodles in sauce. The delivery people are fast and courteous. I just feel like the recipes are odd, probably just too American. I echo what people are saying: Indianapolis needs some more 'real' Asian food. This place would really benefit from giving a more authentic taste. read more

Yesterday we ordered two meals one was sweet and sour chicken. No sweet and sour sauce was included so we called back and ask for the sauce to be delivered since all we had was chicken. They called back insisting the sauce was packed. Again we said no sauce was included and we weren't just eat plain chickens. When the delivery person returned he asked to see the bag. We showed him the empty bag and invited him in and showed him the kitchen where the soy sauce and mustard sat on the stove. No sweet and sour sauce. I was really excited to eat carry out from Asian Harbor. I am vegetarian, so I asked if I should get the Mapo Tofu or the Curry Tofu. I was told Mapo, but guess what? It has meat in it, and none of the vegetables listed on the menu. I called the restaurant after I got back to work with the food and was hung up on multiple times. When I spoke to the gentleman on the phone he said both tofu options have meat, and while he did apologize he only offered me a discount on future meals. I asked how that helped me now, because seriously, I trusted the recommendation and I have nothing to eat. After being hung up on again, I finally got a replacement meal ordered on delivery. 20 minutes later, hung up on again when I called to check, but we're less than 2 blocks down the street.
