I am giving Asian Harbor 4 rather than 5 stars because after a few months of being open, they gradually started raising the prices and decreasing the quantity of food in various sushi and sashimi dishes. They also can be hit or miss on giving you all your sides or appetizers on takeout orders, so be sure to take a peek inside before you drive home. Otherwise, they are pretty good! A good selection of Japanese, Americanized Chinese, and a few Thai dishes. I am personally fond of the Spicy Girl and Pink Lady rolls, but the Veggie Combo is a solid choice too and is almost always vegan. The selection of veggie sushi seems to be at the discretion of the sushi chef, so sometimes it has egg, but I bet you can ask for all veggies when you order. I have had great experiences dining in. I wouldn't go so far as to describe it as romantic, but it is definitely a date night spot with low lighting and a polished Chinese restaurant with a sushi bar vibe. read more

Brand new restaurant in a great location! Did not disappoint. Since I saw signs for the grand opening, I have wanted to try out this new and local restaurant. The location is great, right next to the new Marsh under the Axis apartments. The service was all around very good. I don't remember the waiter's name, but he was very attentive. We ordered the crab rangoon as the appetizer and it was fantastic! I ordered the dinosaur roll, which was one of the signature rolls and it was very good. The price was a bit high, but the roll had many ingredients in it and it was very filling. My guest ordered the Mongolian Beef, which was also good. I tried both and enjoyed the sushi more out of the two. I have nothing negative to say about my experience, just that the price was maybe a bit higher than I was expecting. All in all, a good experience and I will go back again at some point when I want to splurge a bit with my sushi cravings! read more

Well, it's hard to even force yourself to go to a place when you walk by the kitchen door (it was opened in the Marsh parking lot) and see one of the chefs drinking from the water bowl and spitting into one of the sinks where food was nearby. I'll definitely be back as the staff was nice and it seems like a good restaurant with nice interior, but the health department should probably inspect this place if they allow their staff to drink out of mixing bowls and spit out water into the sinks where they cook and clean dishes. This restaurant just opened up this week. I visited on Sunday at noon at their opening time. The decor is very modern and inviting. I was seated promptly but did wait a while for the server to come to the table considering I was the only customer in the store. I ordered a luncheon special combo. The beef with garlic/chicken fried rice dish came with wonton soup and an egg roll. The soup was brought to my table within about 5 minutes and was hot and tasty. I waited about 15 minutes for the entree which seemed a little long since I was the first order placed for the day. The food arrived at a little more than room temperature which surprised me since I had waited so long and there were no others being served. The plate was very upscale and the presentation of the vegetables, beef, and fried rice was impressive. The food taste was about average for a Chinese dish. The portion was very generous. (I took some home in a good plastic bowl provided by my server.} The restaurant advertises a free glass of wine to diners over 21 years of age, but I was told they did not have liquor available. From what I could gather from a worker that speaks little English, the beer and wine delivery did not happen for the opening. The menu advertises the Daily Combination specials for $5.95 which is what I ordered. (open to 3PM) The Dinner price after 3 to close is $8.00. When my bill came I had been charged $8.50. I asked about the difference and again in very broken English the server said the special pricing was just on Monday through Saturday and that on Sunday the dinner price was all day for the combo special. Still I was charged 50 cents more. The point being, if price is of concern, you may want to ask the server the specific price of your meal when you order it. Hopefully, you will be able to understand the answer. The staff was very friendly with lots of smiling (partly because most cannot communicate with the customers in English). I will give this restaurant another try as I live in an apartment building right across the street and it is very convenient when in the mood for Japanese or Chinese food. read more

I ordered the orange chicken and pork lo mein tonight for dinner. When I opened the container for the orange chicken, you could see the chicken swimming in a bath of orange sauce. This caused the chicken to be soggy instead of the crispy. The lo mein noodles were extremely soft and mushy. This is the second time I've ordered from Asian Harbor. The first trip was a 4/5, which is why I rated it a 2/5 for the second trip instead of a 1/5. Seems to be pretty hit or miss. When it's good, it's an above average Asian take-out joint, but you just have to hope you don't catch them on a bad night. read more

Asian Harbor was a super easy spot for a quick bite to eat in the city. This place has its own parking garage so there was no stress in that regard. When we walked in, everyone was so friendly and service continued that way for the whole meal. We had come in early for dinner so the food came out of the kitchen at lightening speed. The shrimp fried rice had really good flavor and the salad was fresh. The only reason I gave this place four stars was because my sushi was super average. The service and ambience at Asian Harbor were great. It's a smaller restaurant but the decor is modern and tasteful. A few coworkers and I decided to give this new restaurant at around 11:30. So come early if you're here for lunch in a crunch. It makes sense they're so busy because Asian Harbor has a great lunch deal! An entree, chicken fried rice and a side for $6.25. Not bad. With that being said, I would say my three stars (rather than four) is based off the food. My scoop of chicken fried rice didn't have any chicken in it and the General Tso's was overly smothered in the sauce. And with that being said, it was good, but not great. Perhaps we're too spoiled here in Indy with other great food options. Give Asian Harbor a try if you're in the area. It's a decent joint for your Chinese food cravings! Been trying to get take out from here for several weeks but had difficulty due to quarantine restrictions. Lucked out today getting my order! They were not offering delivery at the time so I do carry out, making the order was a little difficult due mainly to a lil language barrier and I think the person taking my order was a bit stressed rushing me through my order and getting card info, just seemed in a panic and stressed. Street parking was easy but probably not always, I followed instructions and called 20 minutes after placing my order, came to the door and was greeted by a table blocking the door and 3 8x10 letters explaining directions. The man came to the table with my order and set it in front of me but this guy was flexing serious PPE including a large apron, face mask, safety glasses, aaaaaaand a plastic disposable tuber wear lid strapped to his face. He set the food down and yelled some random indistinguishable directions and walked off. I assumed he forgot something so I paced in front of the door for several minutes where I got to take in the sights, smells, and experience the wonderful homeless of downtown Indy wanting money or cigarettes from me. Finally the Asian man came back with another order and started yelling at me through the door, apparently I was supposed to sign the receipt, take the food and go, I should have probably the signs while I stood there. A funny experience picking up food in Covid19 quarantine times. The star of the show was the food though! I posted pictures and everything we had was excellent. Once things blow over this will be a go to place for us, just have to expect a lil crazy placing and picking up food. read more

In full disclosure, we only made it over to Asian Harbor after there was a private event in FortyFive Degrees which was recommended to us. In hindsight, my girlfriend and I couldn't have been more thrilled to have found this place! We had a crab rangoon appetizer and a few Sushi rolls, one of which included fresh jalapeños that added the most lovely element of crunch and spice. Particularly at the price point, we were incredibly satisfied with the meal. The hostess and waiter were amazing, with great senses of humor and they were incredibly accommodating in providing a free appetizer on the house. It was a small plate with imitation crab, which perhaps is a new dish they are testing out but it was great! They also offered free ice cream after the meal, continuing their incredible hospitality. I'd love to return next time I'm in Indy and looking for sushi downtown! read more

I have been here twice, and it is always an interesting experience. The food is always quick and tastes fine--but there is just an interesting vibe to this place. The menus prices have been covered in white-out and rewritten a few times, some of the cutlery is plastic. Everything was wonderful (piping hot Miso-yum). The service was excellent, quick and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back to try more of the sushi rolls. The prices are super reasonable too. $12.95 for a dinner bento that includes soup, salad, spring rolls, Rangoon AND four California rolls with the main dish and fried rice.
