We have been ordering from Asian House since they opened and have done so because the food has been very good and fresh. Last night was a third strike for us as we have been having major issues recently with food quality and service. One time the food was inedible due to being overcooked. The crab rangoons were burned to the point there was no filling left inside as it had bubbled away in the hot grease. When I complained to the owner, she did eventually give me a gift card to cover the meal, but I had to keep calling to track her down and when I went to pick it up the first time, she wasn't there and the employee didn't know what incident I was referring to so I had to go back at a later date. Last night we placed our order and were told that it would be ready in 20 minutes. When we arrived at Asian House 25 minutes later, we were told the order got lost and hadn't been started. Instead of making our food at that time, they continued making other orders that were ordered after we had placed our order. Our total wait time was close to an hour with half of that time being spent inside waiting for it to be started and completed. When we were charged for the food, there was no comp... no free appetizer, no comped entree... nothing. They charged full price. I do want to add that whenever we order food from Asian House, our bill is normally $100 or more. One of the things we ordered was shrimp lo mein. In the photo they have online, there are a mix of many vegetables but our shrimp lo mein was not only a very small portion but only contained onions, shrimp and noodles. Half of the rangoons were burned again. I'm sorry to say that I am fed up and won't be spending any more of my money at Asian House. read more

I am now a frequent customer & yes it deserves all five stars. The place radiates good vibes without trying & the staff is incredibly friendly. The building itself is rather small with an open concept kitchen & has 2 small tables inside & additional seating outside. Now for the food! I love me some quick lunches & the Chicken Satay Wrap was a flavor bomb--juicy chicken with peanut sauce and crunchy veggies! The peanut sauce is addicting so I got an extra side of it! My next visit was for dinner with my kids & tried a few things. 1st the beef teriyaki was on point although a bit smaller than what I would've liked. The Orange Chicken was not overly sweet but was balanced and crispy! My picky eater tried the kids chicken and fries and that was tasty too!! It wasn't as basic as I imagined- the chicken was crispy & seasoned just right. Of course the fries were another hit! I may or may not have stolen a few.... One of my kids is a big Boba fan & she really liked the one she picked- there's a lot of options for that. Now for the highlight of my kids night! Rolled ice cream!! Which they make right in front of you! Not only was it Insta-worthy, but the taste was fresh & creamy. There's quite a few options for flavors & toppings. I wanted to take pictures but I couldn't hold my kids back from diving right in! I'm already planning my next trip back to explore new dishes- I see Massaman Curry in my immediate future! My 8 year old wanted sushi and pho noodles. So I googled sushi and pho noodles and Asian house came up. What a great little place. Not much seat but the food is amazing. We had 3 didn't rolls. lovely local restaurant you should definitely check out-- the owner is extremely sweet and was super accommodating to the modifications i needed for some items. i got the drunken noodles with tofu, spring rolls and a soymilk brown sugar boba. the drunken noodles were delicious-- i loved the tofu and the broccoli in it. i feel like the flavor was on point, my only preference is that it could have been spicier (i bet i could've asked for that though). the spring rolls were also delicious-- simple filling, but the sauce was amazing. it was thick and had a nice depth of flavor. the boba was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it was good. there is maybe one table for sitting, but otherwise i think it is meant to be takeout. also this is probably one of the most well priced places here in the portland area. the portion size was great, definitely well worth the price. i really enjoyed it and i'll definitely be back if i come back to portland! read more

I've eaten here before, and the food has been good, but today's experience included issues worth noting. 1. Gratuity Added Without Authorization: We ordered takeout and used Apple Pay to complete the transaction. After leaving the restaurant, a notification from Apple Pay indicated that the amount charged was higher than what we had initially authorized. Specifically, a 20% gratuity had been added to our bill. This required us to return to the restaurant to address the issue. The restaurant refunded the gratuity upon request. 2. Allergy Communication and Menu Discrepancy: I discussed my son's severe allergies (peanuts, tree nuts, and peanut oil) with the staff when placing the order. I specifically stated that these allergens could not be included in the food. The Masamam curry dish we received contained peanuts. Peanuts were not listed as an ingredient for this dish on the print and online menu. When I called the restaurant to clarify, I reviewed the ingredient list for the curry dishes with them. They were unable to provide a clear explanation. Nuts were literally added to this dish! Given these two issues, we decided not to eat any of the food for safety reasons. Never listen to neighbors that you really don't know, when it comes to food. Because opinions on food is subjective. One man's wonderful food is another man's garbage. So here is the low down from my perspective. It seems like a friendly clean place to eat. I ordered noodles and pork fried rice. My wife ordered a yellow curry dish. The damn bill came to $55 dollars! I really didn't expect that. Maybe $25 to $30 for noodles, rice and a sloshing dish of soupy curry. Talk about over priced. Holy Cow, I am really going to have to check menu prices from now on before I order anything. Now for the food end of it. Honestly, this place is nothing to write home about. Mediocre at best. But I was puzzled about just why these people would inundate a simple dish like pork fried rice, with big chucks of broccoli, carrots and onions? I ended up fishing out all that crap and tossing it. I wanted pork fried rice, not the hodgepodge garden throw ins. And to add insult to financial shock. The noodle dish made me sick for 2 days! I think it was an overload of MSG and peanut oil that pushed my tolerance into failure. So there you have it. My experience of Asia House eatery. The wife and I will never go again. read more

I went in today for a boba tea. The owner and his daughter were so friendly, and amazing. The menu looked so good I left with the tea and beef chow fun! That night I ordered shrimp Pad Thai, Chicken Penang Curry, Steamed Veg, Beef fried rice, and chicken skewers. All amazing. What a gem in a place you'd not expect. We were told the order would take 15 minutes and we were actually surprised they could do that quickly. They did and were already super busy at the time. Can't say enough about the freshness of the food and taste. The menu is huge and none of it disappointed. Portions are very large so order accordingly. The packaging for takeout is second to none.
