First time trying this place and have been dying to go back for more. I ate inside and the workers were so sweet and had awesome service. The food is so fresh and tasty.

I ordered pickup, the family running Koi is pleasant; however, the crab rangoons were barely filled and I was a little disappointed at the quality in comparison of the price... i was a little bummed out when I opened everything at home.

Definitely a cool place to try food and drinks are decent the restaurant itself is a little dated and disorganized. Service was really good.

    Raw chicken

RUN!!!!!!! (Raw chicken, fake reviews, shady website) Just moved to the area, wanted Chinese food so we went with Koi Asian Cuisine. My girlfriend and I ordered delivery. First off the website is super shady, secondly the delivery was very slow, when we called to get an estimated delivery time after 40 minutes (the place is less than a mile away). The lady had to get the manager to give us an estimated and said she would call back. About 10-15 minutes go by and no call back, then they randomly showed and called to say they were outside. We grabbed the food. She ordered orange chicken and took a bite and it was raw. I would not recommend ordering from here.

    Steel wool?

Found a piece of what seems to be steel wool in my food and cut my mouth. This is absolutely disgusting. I had ordered delivery after working a long day at work and when the food arrived (over an hour late) it was soupy and it was nothing like described. I said oh well, and dug in anyways. About halfway through I felt a sharp stabbing pain in the side of my mouth and pulled this thing out of my cheek. No one to get a hold of, and started ignoring my phone calls. Beyond upset and will be going into the restaurant tomorrow to figure this out. If I could give this restaurant less than a one star review I would. Hopefully I didn't consume any other pieces.

    Sashimi combo plate.

Koi is a long-term establishment for Biddeford [right over the river that dives Biddeford from Saco]. If you were just to drive past Koi, I don't think you'd be blow away by the exterior. A yellow, paint peeling doesn't give off a very inviting feel. However, if you can get past that, you will enter and quickly be greeted and welcomed by their friendly staff. They have an interesting array of tables: your typical stand alone tables and sushi bar spot, but it's the booths that are a bit unique as you have to climb up and over the sides to climb down into the seating area. We ordered a combo plate to split, chefs choice, which came with eight pieces of sashimi and six sushi rolls. The fish was fresh and had good flavor over all, but I expected more our of Maine sushi. I couldn't say I could differentiate it from sushi/sashimi I order in North Carolina. Over all, the friendly staff didn't make up for the odd ambiance and OK food. I wouldn't rush back to Koi in the future, I would make a trip further into Portland and try something that will truly knock your socks off.

    Philadelphia Roll
    Shelby R.

Wanted sushi and thought supporting a small local business would be good. I walked in and it was empty but was between meal times. Two adults who worked there arrived at the same time I did and I quickly realized they were the only employees there. 2 children had been there alone and the older one took my drink order. I waited 10 or so minutes to be seen by the server (the mom). I asked if I could still do the lunch special since I got there before 4 and she said no. I ordered a Cali roll and Philly roll. They were cut larger than an inch thick, I couldn't even fit a whole one in my mouth. They threw them together so quick they were falling apart. No music or environment to speak of. Also-the crab was imitation which was concerning to me considering its in Maine and they had multiple specials featuring "fresh Maine lobster" and other seafood. I'll have to find a different place. Would not recommend.

This restaurant is located 7 minute drive from the UNE campus (basically the closest restaurant to…read morethe campus)...very convenient if you're there for a sports events, and need to pick up dinner. Food was good! I tried the fresh garden roll, the crispy veggie spring rolls, and 3 bubble drinks. The fresh garden roll was amazing. Filled with tons are tightly rolled veggies and fresh herbs and just the right amount of vermicelli rice noodles. They came with a Thai sweet chili dipping sauce and peanut sauce. Both sauces were good, but the peanut sauce was a little too thick...it didn't work to dip the roll into it...you have scoop it on the roll, but it tasted delicious. The crispy veggies spring rolls were perfectly slim, and fried to perfection. The sweet chili dipping sauce was perfect for these. Again, just the right amount of rice vermicelli noodle, and lots of veggies. I tried 3 flavors of bubble tea...a lavender milk tea, mango tea and a strawberry tea. All were very good. The amount of tapioca pearls was a little disappointing...could have added a bit more, but despite that, they were delicious. The atmosphere is a casual take out restaurant. There are 2 tables, and a counter that runs along the windows with stools, so one could eat in if you wanted to. There are also a limited amount of Asian groceries on shelves next to the counter...actually a good selection of pantry basics one might need. There is a well stocked bottled drinks cooler as well for picking up drinks along with the take-out. The service was friendly. A teenager boy worked the counter, and lots of people seemed to be working in the kitchen. It definitely felt like a family run restaurant. I placed my order at the counter and was told it would take about 10 minutes. I sat at a table while I waited for the food. I didn't see a sign for a restroom, so I asked where it was. I was told it was the door that says "employees only". The bathroom was clean. When my food was ready, the boy brought the bag to the table where I was sitting, and put the 3 drinks in a cardboard drink holder to make it easier to carry. So nice. I'm looking forward to trying more dishes next time.

First of Lobster Rangoons I mean how do you not. Portland Maine being Lobster Paradise this just makes sense and is a must try staple here. Just takes your normal Chinese Crab Rangoon to the next level. The Char Siu Baos where the best BBQ Pork Bun I have ever had. I know these can be hit or miss sometimes but Empire it doing it right truly the best I have had. The Pork Potsticks were also great. A top 3 dumpling I have had. I honestly wasn't expecting much but these were amazing. The Curry Udon was kind of a funny story. I said we should try this and my friends like me know it was vegan but for once that didn't bother me. This was great and so full of flavor. Plus you can't go wrong with Udon. Kung Pao Chicken is always my go to and this one takes the cake. The Chicken is lighty battered and so full of flavor. One of the best I have ever had. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything we had at Empire Chinese and I would 100% go back and do it all again. I'll end this review the way we started dinner. Lobsta Goooooonnnnsss!

It took a while for the food to come out--maybe 20 mins for the soup and another 15 for the main. The soup was nicely seasoned, maybe being a bit too thick, and not allowing the galangal/lime leaf to breathe as much as it should. But I liked how it came with red pepper, tomato, mushroom and tofu. The main was not really Thai at all, coming with a rather stingy portion of tempeh, two kinds of mushrooms, red pepper, Lima beans, and microgreens. Reasonably seasoned but just not that interesting.
