Beautiful restaurant. Amazing food and good drinks. I've been there twice and have enjoyed myself both times. The only thing I would change is the location because it's located on an intersection on the highway. Which makes it hard to get into. Quick service in house and take out. You never have to wait long for your food. If it's busy, sushi will take a little longer, reasonably. Consistent quality overall, sometimes when extremely busy on weekends you might get a slightly less crisp batch of chicken fingers, but they are very good chicken fingers! I have tried and tried to give this place a chance, especially since there aren't a lot of choices in the area but I'm over it. The food is terrible. Literally terrible. Lo mein is always mush. Eggrolls come with a bag full of oil. Pad thai on a good day is tasteless but just recently it was down right inedible and sickening. We were able to eat the chicken on a stick even though very very oily. We ordered two orders of pad thai after not trying it in a long time hoping for better results and it got worse. It had ZERO taste other than the rotten brown limes they threw on top of it. I tried to put some soy sauce on it but the sour taste could not be covered. I ate maybe 4-5 bites and just couldn't do it anymore and threw it away. My husband maybe ate a third and did the same. Within a couple of hours we were both in the bathrooms vomiting all night. Other than this food we both only had a banana earlier so we know it was the food delivered. They should shut back down and actually take the time to learn how to properly execute clean, authentic, delicious dishes. The only reason this place survives is bc it is literally 1 of only 3 restaurants in the town. Drop this place in a busier town and it's out of business in a month. read more

Just got takeout there for the first time. The sushi was amazingly fresh. The tuna in particular was some of the best tasting I've had. The miso soup that came with my sushi lunch was okay. The salad was just some iceberg lettuce and carrot shavings with no dressing. I'll definitely go back for the sushi, but skip the lunch combos. read more

What a redemption from last visit, when we had refried everything, I think. They must have a new chef and new wait staff. A most attentive server, egg rolls and crab rangoons were great, wonton and hot n sour soup were super hot and tasty, and the serving sizes of our entres were amazing, plus they were served fresh, hot and tasty....... So glad to say we can confidently go back here for some of the best chinese in the area. Oh, we had shrimp egg foo young, chicken and brocolli and general gao's chicken made with white meat. I love Asian imperial! I was out of state for a month and the amazing roll was the first thing I ate when I got back! My favorites are the amazing, torch, butterfly, and Arizona. For the Chinese menu I usually get the lo mein, veggie delight, or tempura. The bar is busy on the weekends, but fun... The drinks are delicious! I always have a good time here. read more

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am completely and utterly addicted to this place. I eat here almost every single week and have for almost two years now. It started from a weekly tradition of grabbing lunch with friends and soon I found myself grabbing takeout any time the group was too busy to make it out. This place has the best sushi, and the best chinese food in the Fitchburg/Leominster/Lunenburg area. Easily. I'll start with the chinese food as it's what I eat most often. Imperial runs lunch specials every single day except for big holidays. The value for the quality is unbelievable. 6.75 is the starting price and you get a main entree, choice of rice, and a small appetizer. In the case of the General Gao's Chicken you can order it white-meat only for an extra dollar. No other restaurant I know of offers this option. And it's the best General Gao's I've had anywhere. The sauce is the right blend of spicy and sweet and the breading is always perfect. I will note that it's better if you eat-in vs, takeout simply because it stays crunchier. Their house rice is excellent as is all the other typical chinese fare. Now the sushi...Good sushi is difficult to find. But the sushi here is quite good and reasonably priced. Again the lunch specials are a great value but their specialty rolls are worth spending the extra money. In particular I'd recommend the Patriots roll and the Amazing roll but I love cream cheese. The balance between rice and fish here is better than most and the fish always tastes fresh. I've had some rolls i wasn't a huge fan of but never due to a quality issue, just personal taste. The classics like spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and of course philadelphia roll are always on point. Also worth noting that the drinks are a big value. The large size scorpion bowl is almost too much even to split with a date and it comes it at only 11.50 or so. If you're in the area check this place out. read more

The last time I was here was on march 24th 2015 for my oldest daughter's birthday because she wanted to eat sushi. While I have eaten good food there, it isn't consistently the case. The last time the crab Rangoon was so overcooked I was surprised that they'd let that go out of the kitchen. Sushi is good here. Like I said if I'm going to over pay for food I expect consistency and not a 50/50 guess on if it is going to be good or not. I will not go again w/o others pushing for it. Although we had a decent meal my experience with this business was very poor. I left my jacket there (yes my own fault) but called within a few minutes of leaving. I knew exactly where it was and the person on the phone said we will call you if we find it. There was no way anyone else could have taken it by that point. So why they couldn't look when I called is beyond me. Of course no call. Stopped by and again was told we will call if we find it. Sent the manager an email, no response. All I was asking is for the person on the phone when I called is to look on the chair at our table as I am 100% sure it was there as our table was crowded with people behind us so the jacket fell down in the chair. I've enjoyed many meals at Asian Imperial since they reopened the place, usually as part of a family or friend outing, I don't think I can count the number of times we've been there. But the last 3 times we have visited, there's been something wrong and it can't be ignored any longer. We haven't had any issues with service, waitresses seem to do a nice job and bring food on time except when they are packed which is not their fault. The last two times we ate there, one time it was extremely mushy looking sushi which they couldn't Fix even though we asked ; and the other time we ordered Chinese food and I got sick after eating it. Today we went back to celebrate Mother's Day. So much for celebrating. We ordered a few different rolls of sushi and everything seemed ok. Until I got home. I spent about 2 hours hoping to pass out from the stomach pain I had and finally after a few home remedies I vomited all my sushi meal. I was the only one in my party who had saba so I'm kind of wondering if the mackerel wasn't properly kept or it was bad; etc. I'll never know as I'll be avoiding this restaurant going forward. read more

Today was our FIRST time dining at Asian Imperial Restaurant. We've been looking for a new Chinese food place to dine at since our local place closed down. This was across town from us and we've said several times we should try it out. We've heard rave reviews of the food & service from friends & relatives. I have to say this place is very disappointing. The pad Thai tasted exactly like dog food. Not an understatement. I got sushi but the rolls were falling apart. Also the Chinese donuts were not anything like they are supposed to be. They clearly were frozen for some time. Just very unsatisfactory. I've been ordering from Asian Imperial for over 15 years. I've lived in Townsend for over 15 years. They have ALWAYS delivered here. Tonight I was told no delivery to my address and was told they never deliver this far. They also told me they don't deliver more than 7 miles away. I'm 6.4 miles away. I'm completely disappointed. The Chinese restaurants in Townsend are terrible and was always thrilled that Asian Imperial delivered here. A friend took me here a few months ago for a lunch after thanksgiving break. Before this I liked sushi, but not as much as I do now after I had it. (The reason I had a bad vibe was from the first time I had sushi - bad mall sushi. 'Nuff said. Although, maybe it was the spicy mustard she drizzled all over it....) Asian Imperial is literally gorgeous inside. Honestly, I thought it would be run-down, but it was gorgeous. The lighting, the booths and seats, the decorations - everything. We were shown a table within 2 minutes without any reservations and sat down in a comfy booth. The waiter helped us immediately. I wasn't sure what to order, but I love Chinese food. We got rice to share and a side of crab rangoons. My friend had been there multiple times, so he knew what to order. He asked for a Spicy Tuna Roll and the Snowy Mountain Roll. Needless to say, when the waitress came back with our food, namely the sushi, I was so amazed by how great it looked! I was a little hesitant to try it, but as soon as I did I was in heaven. It was such amazing quality and since then I've ordered delivery at least 5 times. I've had the amazing roll and butterfly roll, personally I think the amazing roll is way better, however the butterfly roll is good too I guess. Just not for my taste buds though. I ordered delivery from Asian Imperial through Door Dash. The delivery service was fine, however, the food was the worst alleged Chinese food I've ever had on a plate. The egg rolls were so greasy and salty they were inedible. The Moo Goo Gai Pan was appalling and barely edible. The hot and sour soup tasted like it came from a can. I was excited to try their food since it got such great reviews. Apparently their regular customers don't have much of a palate. Or, perhaps the cooks quit for the night. read more

I go here all the time for Sushi, it definitely the best in the area. A Massachusetts paper recently wrote a story about some of the worst towns in the state, and called Asian Imperial Lunenburg's only redeeming quality. I don't know how true that anecdote is, but it demonstrates just how popular this place can get on a busy night. I know people who drive up from Worcester to get sushi here. That said, the Chinese food is so-so. Don't get me wrong, everything is very good hence the five-stars, but I am big fan of more traditional Chinese food. I really like Asian Imperial, I always stop in with the boys, but last time I ordered from here, I had such a delicious meal, Every bite was fulfilling, and I left me wanting more until my stomach was about to blow. At the end my meal, like usual I opened the bag of fortune cookies to have read the fortune I always look forward to when ordering from here, and passed one out to all of the boys, and took one for myself. Cracked open the cookie, and there was no fortune inside. I decided not to write about this, as accidents happen, about a few weeks later I ordered from here again with the fam, Same thing, delicious food, and no fortune.
