We ordered the lobster hoagie and hush puppies. Both were... fine. Not bad, but nothing that wowed us or justified the anticipation. The flavors were there in a basic sense, but it all felt a little underwhelming for a spot that's billing itself as a seafood destination. What really got me was the market side of things. The seafood on display just looked sad not fresh, not vibrant, not the kind of stuff that makes you want to throw something in a bag and take it home to cook. I fully understand we're landlocked in Indiana and truly fresh seafood is a challenge, but if that's your entire concept, the product has to be able to hold its own. Left feeling more disappointed than anything. I so wanted to love this place and will be rooting for them to level up but for now, this Florida girl will keep searching.

He said give him 10 minutes but my order was ready before that. The man was super helpful and friendly. There are nine parking places beside the building which are the closest to the front door. If those are full, there is a Home Depot parking lot just a few steps away.

I don't really seek out a place like Slapfish on my own (no offense at all, just not a seafood girlie!!), but I would assume that it's a rather popular establishment as they recently opened a fifth location in the greater Indy area. We decided to order from the Devour menu - $45 for a starter, entree and dessert. Great deal. We ended up taking food home because the portions are pretty big. The buffalo shrimp and the fish and chips we lighting battered. You can really taste the seafood and not a lot of batter. Delish! The steak was very tender. The chimichurri was perfection. Fries were wide and thin. I absolutely loved these fries! The staff was so nice. They made sure we were taken care of (as well as the other guests). They shared drink and food recommendations. The owner, Mark, was so friendly and welcoming! He was actually working the restaurant and took time to chat with us. We will definitely be back!

The regular-sized entrées are generous, filling, and easily satisfy my cravings without needing to size up. Today's Hunan tofu was packed with vegetables, perfectly cooked tofu, and plenty of flavor. If tofu is on the menu, I'm probably ordering it. (I ate plenty before taking the photo). Now for the real addiction: the sesame balls. I honestly couldn't tell you how many come in an order because I never make it long enough to count them. I tell myself I'll pace myself over a few days, but somehow they're usually gone within 48 hours. By day two, I'm down to the last few, trying to convince myself not to eat them all at once. I've also ordered the crab rangoon every single time. I love that they offer both 4-piece and 8-piece options depending on your appetite and budget.
