I went here with my wife as she wanted to try out the food. The prices you can not complain, on the weekend during lunch time at $16.99. The assortment of food was good. I enjoyed the chicken skewers, chicken was not dry as I was expecting. The goza was okay and I liked the pork. They do sell the pizza and sushi, but I was not brave to try those. I had the fries which was good. The place does get really crowded as the church crowd goes in and even though there was a storm that day. The dessert was okay as well, but the ice cream was icy. The name says it all. Star buffer and it is a star, one star. Probably one of the worst Asian Buffets I have ever been to. Let's start with the food: not all the way cooked, not even the pizza!! I bit Into it and was it raw on the inside, how hard is it to cook pizza? A lot of the foods were not cooked properly. Also I never get pizza but since there is not many options unlike other Asian buffets, the options are low quality. It shouldn't be even 15$ a person, how about 10$. The worst sushi bar. If you like your sushi cold with no fish inside come here. Just don't get any bread it's not cooked all the way. Shrimp is also almost raw. I don't know who is cooking back there, but they need someone who knows how to at least cook all the way thru. I ended up getting desert that I'm sure wasn't made here. No stars!!! The order was placed for Oklahoma, but somehow it was sent to the location in Dallas. So, called the owner Nathaniel to get a refund, the OWNER stated it wasn't his problem, stated he don't know how to do a refund, yelled at us, called me f***ing stupid, asked if we wanted a refund 20+ times, we stated yes every time, then asked if I understood English!! They wanted us to drive 5 hours to get cash, explained many times that was NOT am option! No resolution other than maybe tomorrow he can issue a refund if he knows how. Do not eat here! Took my family here. The restaurant is located in a bad area. There was vomit on the sidewalk outside of the entrance. You must pay first before entering. $35 for two adults with drinks. Inside was a total zoo. Rude staff. Greasy utensils. The food looked absolutely disgusting. I actually felt my stomach turn just looking at the food. The place was so nasty we asked for a refund. Nice and clean, best honeydew melon I've ever eaten (no kidding) and well stocked buffet items. Everything we ate that was grilled was delicious, but I think the fry oil needs to be changed more often because everything that was fried tasted the same, like burnt oil and old seafood. How do you say delicious in chinese? Měiwèi. And that it is! We love coming to Asian Star Buffet. Soooo much selection. Not your typical buffett either. And it is constantly stocked with freshness. We love it here so much, we come at least 2 a week sometimes. My wife loves the egg soup. She can't get enough. I love the hibachi grill. And every chef they've had knows what he is doing. They never miss. And again, we come here alot haha. Don't let some of these bad reviews fool you. It is nothing like other buffetts. The selection is grand, and fresh! And caters to everyone from carnivores and vegetarians! That's what is weird about some of these bad reviews, what are they expecting to see when they walk in to a Chinese buffet?? The decoration and design was excellent and I loved the idea of the entrance and the exit so nobody would bump into each other. Also, the people working there are very friendly and nice. When you come through the entrance door they will greet you. When you get seated, somebody will help you. Not terrible for a buffet place. Decent selection and the food was warm. Several of the dishes were under-seasoned and I did not try the Mongolian grill. The egg rolls were among the best I've had at any buffet (and I've tried them from Washington DC to El Paso.) I would place it above average in terms of buffets I have experienced. The sesame chicken was quite good. Lots of vegetarian and dessert choices. It was clean, the staff was kind, but I did find the Tejano music playing over the speakers and spoken Cantonese from waitstaff to be a bit of an odd combo. I would eat there again. read more

But, I guess I'll do one for this newly opened restaurant since it's pretty clean, and the staff was actually very attentive to everyone that came to the restaurant to eat. That there was a pleasant surprise...and as for the food, it was freshly made, and tasted good. Note: Even though this restaurant has more than enough selections of dishes for most to enjoy. We paid $74 for four people and what a waste of money. Staff looked like they hated being there, when we walked in, the place looked like it wasn't cleaned often. We tried as much decent looking food and still the food was bland, undercooked, under seasoned, and off putting. I went to grab a fork and all of the "clean" utensils were sitting in brown sink water residue. Some of the food was labeled so who knows what you're eating. You can taste the plastic wrap that the food was sitting in, you can taste the dishwater used to cooked the chow mein, and I wouldn't even think of eating any fish there. I'm not one to get mad over little things but what our waiter did just got me mad for some reason. I was going there with my family cause we wanted to try something new when we got there we got seated and the waitress gave the forks and my daughter was like organizing them as she has a little problem with things being messy and the lady so rudely just snatched one didn't even asked or nothing and put it on the paper she put our drink order on. I don't know if it's something normal they do or something but some time later she was getting another's table drinks and for them she didn't put anything on it and that just got me mad . Swift service. Waiters are very friendly quick. Restaurant was busy and has a Very large Buffet and Mongolian Grill. I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon.. Very noisy. Crowded with large families. Most of the Food on the buffet were dried out & lukewarm. Chinese dishes which are usually served with sauces had no sauce in the pan. I usually love a Hibachi Grill, but this cook did not add any liquids to the grill so my food came out super dried out & barely warm, and I had food from someone else's Grill order on my plate. This type issue is due to their type of grilling. They start putting the dishes on the left and as they pulled the one off the right end of the grill the others are moved down one space to occupy the empty spot which causes cross contamination. With most buffets I have to be real careful because a couple of my family members have allergies. Primary among them are mushrooms and Seafood. I saw mushrooms sitting on top of other dishes on the Hibachi line where people had reached across and dropped food carelessly. The Establishment cannot force people to be more careful but they should at least Be watchful and make sure dishes are clean and served untainted. read more

Me and my family went today and keep in mind this is our first time going to this place. Once we walked in we weren't greeted in a nice way at all, instead we were rudely told "where is your receipt?" we were confused because it was out first time here. Then we were told that we had to pay before being seated. After we paid, the hostess very rudely asked us again where is your receipt even though she just saw us pay but whatever, she proceeded to walk us to a very raggedy table in the back corner next to a door. She had an attitude the whole time and spoke to us very rudely. We asked her if she had coke and she told us very rudely and with an attitude "No Pepsi"...After this we are sitting at this table by the door where people keep exiting through and every time the door would open i would get hit in the head with the blinds because of the wind...also where we were sat it was too hot we asked to move but we were told there was no available tables so we stayed but our server(forgot to ask for his name) was so kind and put chairs in the doorway so people wouldn't use that exit anymore. overall i would give this place a 0 but i can't so i'll give it a 1 service was horrible and food was mediocre. Good selection. I'm on the fence here with 3 stars. I'd give it 2 1/2 stars if I could. Food was very bland, everything was bland except for the chicken wings, they were good. The spring rolls were excellent. It was a Saturday night and they kept buffet well stocked. There was a broom and dust pan leaning on the wall right beside our table, the broom fell over twice and hit the chair. Luckily we were at a six top and their were only five of us, it fell on the empty chair. Not too appealing to have to look at that nasty broom and dustpan.
