This is one of those family restaurants that you see the kids folding napkins or doing homework, son does water refills, daughter serves, and parents cook or take payment. The service here is always beyond great. The seating is dim which is so nice for solo dining and usually noise is minimal. The food is great, for their meat pho options u can opt for a smaller size. This is so nice for a lower appetite. The shrimp spring rolls ($4.55) is so huge, fresh, and has a great shrimp portion to sauce. We got the veggie and beef/tripe pho (around $10-11). Both are solid in quality and portion. As someone who loves tripe- this place does it so well. The garnishes and sirarcha/hoisin available were so fresh and plentiful. They charged me for a pot of hot tea which I wasn't happy with cuz most places i frequent usually give free tea. Fried egg rolls- size of them were pretty huge, quite crunchy. The filling was alot of vermicelli and some pork. I only ate half a roll and I thought it was ok. Special combo beef pho- it was OK. It didn't particularly stand out to me. Grilled pork,shredded pork and fried egg rice- the grilled pork was quite thin and disappointing. Shredded pork was ok. Fried egg was just a regular fried egg. The rice seemed like some type of short grain rice. My 1/2 viet husband was quite disappointed with the dish. He was still hungry after eating it. The prices that are shown online on their website is not the same as their current menu in the restaurant. The egg rolls were about $2 more expensive. Pho and rice were also more expensive as well. Despite this place being really dark inside, it had probably one of the best Pho broth I've ever had. I got the XL special combination and it was filled to the top!!! I did not even have room to put any bean sprouts in it. There was so much meat and noodles in it! Some places give you more broth than anything. Not this place, it was great ! The spring rolls were good with a nice peanut sauce. As for the Bahn mi, it was okay. I loved the amount of veggies in it and the bread being so crispy and fresh but....it only had like 4 little piece of chicken. What was really great about this place was the service. 09.26.19 We came across this place after a Yelp search for a Vietnamese restaurant near downtown Dallas. Interestingly enough, they open at 9am and offer a buffet! We got there a little past 10am and were their first 2 customers in the restaurant. Upon entering, it looked a little dark and gloomy. We were greeted quickly by a young server- he told us to sit wherever we wanted. We told him our drinks and headed to the buffet. As we got our plate of food at the buffet and sat down to eat, the man (owner) was on the phone speaking loudly, followed by his wife FaceTiming their daughter. Throughout our time there, we heard phone calls, many loud internal conversations between their family and staff. Despite the ambience (or lack thereof), the food was pleasantly decent. We enjoyed most their dishes; they had good variety and kept their buffet bars full. I would recommend this place for people who want to try some authentic Vietnamese dishes, but do not expect a classy, quiet dining experience. It seems that they are a very casual family-owned environment and you will hear lots of loud conversations from various people (owners staff, frequent customers) during your stay there. To us, it was quite entertaining. To others, it may not be. We learned from the owner that he's been there for 24 years; it definitely shows and they should consider remodeling it. First time trying this place out via takeout. Was in the mood for some noodle soup after a long day and wanted pho. Wanted to try out a restaurant we've never tried before, so decided to search for pho on Yelp. Ordered through the Yelp app & food was ready within 30 minutes. I am SO THANKFUL they packed the soup in an extra bag since my fiancé just had shoulder surgery and while carrying them in, dropped them. Thankfully, each soup portion was nicely contained in each bag and didn't spill everywhere (or even mix together). For sides, ordered both egg rolls & shrimp spring rolls. Egg rolls were very crunchy and had good flavor. The spring rolls had the lettuce served on the side, which I thought was very bizarre, but actually worked out. Their peanut sauce was amazing - to get the sorry spring roll (without the lettuce) to taste THAT good, the secret is definitely in the sauce. For entreé, ordered 1) meatball pho & 2) Beef tendon & tripe pho. I did put in a special comment of "No bean spouts & no cilantro" and found both packed with my meal, but they were on the side and easy enough to leave out. The soup flavor was good, tasted like pho, not too salty. The meat was about average in flavor. Meatballs were about average, no pepper kernels inside.
