    Surf and Turf fried rice
    Jeanette D.

I met up with friends for a quick dinner at Komodo. We had already been to happy hour and gotten drinks and an appetizer so we really just wanted something tasty to eat. The service was really good. Our server was very attentive and consistently checked up on us to make sure we were ok and answer any questions. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice. It a great spot for a romantic dinner, the bar area is nice to meet other singles, and the restaurant is nicely decorated. I decided to go with the surf and turf fried rice. If fact, most of my table got the same dish. I'm glad I got that dish. I had so much lobster. My friends were shocked and all said I had a lot of lobster. The dish was well seasoned, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I would recommend it and come back for that dish again. Overall a great experience. I may try to fried chicken next time.

Me and my girls had the a girls' night here. Everything -- and I mean EVERYTHING -- was delicious. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. The bathrooms are a bit of a journey to get to, but they're extremely well kept, so the walk isn't too bad. After around 10pm (I think?) there's an upstairs lounge with a bar, a DJ, and it's a good spot if you want to dance and get a little club vibe in. I'll most definitely be back and ordering half the menu.

Talk about the perfect spot- girls' night, date night, solo date... you name it--Komodo fits the bill. I went on a Friday evening for dinner with a few girlfriends, and we will absolutely be back. First, the vibe and decor: it truly has a grown, upscale feel. The lighting is moody, stylish, and there are plenty of seating options throughout the space. The bar is a great size and adds to the lively atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you immediately feel like you're in for a fun night out. The staff was amazing. Every single person who stopped by our table was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They explained dishes, checked in at the right moments, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. Peter and Desiree were our servers for the evening, and they didn't miss a detail. Both had great personalities and struck the perfect balance of being attentive without hovering. They seemed to anticipate what we needed before we even had to ask, and their timing throughout the meal was spot on. We had the chance to try quite a few menu items, and nothing disappointed. With such a large menu, there's still so much we want to come back and try- and based on what we had, I'm confident we will be in for a treat again! After dinner (and a fantastic dessert), we headed upstairs to check out the lounge. It was jamming up there! We didn't stay long, but the energy was great, everyone seemed to be having a good time, and the layout upstairs is just as nice as the dining area. Overall, Komodo is a great spot for a night out. Great vibe, excellent service, and a menu that makes you want to come back again and again. I'll grab better (and more) pictures next visit. Enjoyed the company & staff so much that I didn't get photos of everything

I saw a lot of mixed reviews for this place so we were a little hesitant to go. After dining there, I get why the divide. I think it really depends on what you are looking in your dining experience. Here's my take: Ambiance and Service: 5/5 One of the coolest Asian restaurants that I've been to. The vibe is awesome and the decor is super cool. The music is upbeat and amazing. I wouldn't say it's like a club but pretty close. Our server (Dylan) was super cool and helpful with navigating the menu. Food: 4/5 Truffle Honey Salmon: 5/5 This was our fav dish. The flavor is really incredible and the sashimi is really high grade. We ordered a 2nd set of this. Surf and Turf Maki: 4.5/5 This is NOT your typical maki dish. The combo of the seared waygu beef on the top and the shrimp tempura in the middle was excellent. Crispy King Crab Dumplings: 4.5/5 Super unique, crispy and tasty. One of the most creative dishes I've ever had Surf and Turf Fried Rice: 1/5 Super salty. We sent this back Crab Lo Mein: 2/5 Salty and lacked character Overall we enjoyed our experience but considering the price, I would give it 3.5/5.

If you're asking how a restaurant gets a perfect score from me? Baby... they have to deliver in every single category. And Komodo absolutely did that. First of all, the location? 10/10. Walking distance from my hotel and right by the nightlife -- which I definitely enjoyed after dinner. We love a seamless, soft-life evening. Now let's get into the vibes. The decor is giving luxe, sultry, rich. Deep red tones, Asian-inspired accents, dramatic lighting... it's sexy and elevated. Perfect for date night, birthdays, or Valentine's Day (which is TODAY, by the way). Very much "I look expensive and I know it." The service? Top tier. The hostess understood the assignment -- okay? Taking my pictures in front of that mural, being a whole co-star in my TikTok moment. And my waiter? Treated me like the princess that I am. Patient, attentive, giving recommendations, laughing with me, and even doing a small (but huge) favor at the end of the night. That kind of energy matters. Now let's talk about the food because whew... sushi, steak, fried rice, wine, cheesecake -- some of the BEST I've ever tasted. And if you know me, I've dined at a lot of beautiful establishments. I don't throw "best ever" around lightly. Komodo in Dallas left a forever stamp in my mind. Luxe. Delicious. Memorable. I will always recommend it. Period.

Had a fantastic dinner at Komodo Dallas with our wives and it was an all-around great experience. The lychee martinis were a huge hit with the ladies--refreshing, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The old fashioneds for the guys were equally impressive, well-crafted and full of flavor. The food really shines here, especially the variety of shareable selections. Everything we tried was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, making it easy (and fun) to sample multiple dishes as a group. Great atmosphere, excellent drinks, and standout food--Komodo is a perfect spot for a night out or special occasion.

This place is definitely a trendy spot for the ladies but despite being a trendy place they don't flop on the quality of food like some of those other restaurants who focus on ambiance and not quality. The spicy edamame were some of the best dressed edamame I've had. The tomahawk steak was cooked to perfection served with lychee sauce on the side that adds a nice balance to the tender steak. 3 of us shared the steak and it was plenty for 3. The pork ribs were sticky sweet with a caramelized glaze but fell off the bone easily. The night club upstairs is an ok space. As someone who is only 33, I still felt like I was one of the few people above 25 in the space. But it's a good space to dance off a little of the food before going to another spot like Green Elephant. Price transparency Our bill was $400 for 3 Including a $150 tomahawk steak 2 appetizers, 2 shareable sides, 1 shareable dessert, and a couple shots.

Komodo Dallas is an upscale Asian fusion restaurant that also doubles as a club/lounge. I recently visited during Dallas Restaurant Week. The interior is chic and gives off strong zen vibes. Service was attentive--our waiter offered good recommendations. We provided our order for all three courses up front, all of which were brought to us at just the right time. For starters, I had the Wagyu steak tacos served in wonton shells--easily my favorite course of the evening. They were very tasty, though I wish there were more than two per order. I also tried the shrimp spring rolls, which came four to an order. Good for sharing, but the filling-to-fried ratio felt a bit off. For my entrée, I had the duck lo mein. The duck itself was flavorful and not overly gamey, but the citrus mixed into the lo mein created an unusual flavor combination that I'm not entirely sold on. Dessert featured yuzu dumplings and mochi. They are fairly small in size making them good to satisfy a sweet tooth but make sure you order more than one if you plan on sharing. My favorite was the yuzu dumpling--it had a soft, cold exterior with a ganache-like interior. Not what I expected, but still delicious. Overall, Komodo Dallas offers a stylish setting and some standout dishes, but certain flavor combinations and the price point left me feeling a bit underwhelmed.

    Surf and turf maki

I hadn't come to this restaurant since I've heard mixed reviews about this place. We came for restaurant week just to give them a try. Ordered wagyu tacos and the seafood and turf maki rolls for our apps. Only one appitzer showed up. I had to chase down service half the time. As I did with not receiving my appetizer. The waiter finally came when I waived him down and he said he would check on it. Then came out to tell me it's on its way. Well another 5 minutes pass and my dinner is served. My dinner was the Korean fried chicken and my date's was the daring king pao chicken. Both were pretty flavorful but my chicken was on the wrong side of being fully cooked. And with her kung pao chicken, I've never been served that dish without rice. Weird stuff right?. I did finally receive my appetizer halfway through eating my entree. It was not bad but it tasted like regret for coming here. The desserts were the mochi which was ok and raspberry dumplings which was excellent. Definitely not coming back though. I always feel the whole point in doing restaurant week is to bring in customers that normally wouldn't come to your establishment and try to wow them so you will have a new client. These guys served me rawish chicken and their service was so blah. These guys served 2 stars was for the waiter just trying at the end to save things.

Food was amazing! Went for my husbands birthday. Loved the spicy edamame! And the milk bread.

Went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. Ambiance was REALLY nice. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food & cocktails. I ordered the surf & turf fried rice, which was delicious. However, we all felt food was overpriced for the portion size. Service was AMAZING! They were really nice, attentive, & helpful with drink & food suggestions. Disappointing thing was when one of our friends was calling to plan, she asked about bringing a cake, which they said was fine. They would keep it refrigerated & bring it out for us to sing happy birthday. However, the night of dinner after we sang, we weren't allowed to cut and serve the cake. This was NEVER mentioned to my friend when she was inquiring about the space & bringing cake. There is valet parking available or you can park in a nearby parking garage.

Food was exceptional. Honestly very very good. Playing was beautiful and flavorful was fantastic. To start I got the cucumber salad, which was refreshing and delicious. Followed by the Thai shrimp which was Packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. I got the brazino with potatoes. This dish was very so flavorful, fish was fresh, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Potatoes were perfectly seasoned and cooked. I appreciated the food runner describing the dish when he dropped it off at the table, something a lot of places has slipped on, and it makes a huge difference in understanding the components of the dish upon arrival. My waitress was very welcoming and frequently checked in on me to make sure I was enjoying everything and didn't need anything. She was very prompt and timely with any request and thoughtful. Ambiance was fun and energetic making the experience more enjoyable. 10/10

Food and service was great! great place for a date or birthday dinner. There is a long wait time even though you made a reservation, nowhere to sit while you wait for your table so be ready to stand for 15-20minutes. there is a small waiting area with some tables but they will be filled up since other people are also waiting for their tables.

Yes! Their Sunday brunch is $72 and comes with the unlimited buffet and a full entree. Check out my review or you can view it @itslegacylee on IG!

    Is there happy hour?

No, there is no happy hour at this restaurant. They are only open for dinner service from 5 PM -11 PM. They do have a nightlife but it's incredibly expensive to attend and not worth the money.

Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.

During my second visit, I tried the Bitter Lemon Soda, which was also very good--simple, refreshing, and without any overpowering flavors. I actually enjoyed The Bowen House so much that I went twice during my weekend trip to Dallas. It has an almost speakeasy-like atmosphere, with low lighting and a cozy, historic feel. It's also in a very walkable area, which made it easy to visit on foot. There is some parking available, although I would say it's somewhat limited. I don't think it would be the best spot for a very large group, but it would be perfect for a few friends getting together. Me and my friends have a relationship with the long time staff as customers as well as the excellent music talent. The cause? Not precisely sure but I think it's new ownership, at the very least a new Food & Bev manager. I also know the staff is very upset about these changes and the relationships with the repeat music talent is now a mess. I wouldn't be surprise if the staff start leaving. If you're looking for a cute holiday pop-up with festive décor and fun drinks, HIDE is worth checking out. Food and drinks start around $15 and up, so you're definitely paying for the experience

I visited here with a group of friends recently. I say "visited" and not "dined" because the food…read moreand service was awful. (I rarely post Yelp reviews so that's how bad it was) I ordered the steak frites medium-well (thinking it would probably come out well-done, as most non-steakhouses tend to do). After a long wait for our food (the restaurant didn't look that busy, but maybe a lot of to-go orders?) I received the pictured steak: I'm pretty sure I can still hear it mooing. How anyone could look at this and think this is medium-well is beyond me. I tried taking a bite, but it was so raw it was inedible to eat - I would've been chewing for ages. I brought this up to my waiter, who said he would take it back and speak to the kitchen. My group needed to leave for another event (didn't anticipate waiting nearly an hour for our food) so we simultaneously asked for our checks. The kicker? My waiter did not follow up with me on how raw the steak was and did not comp my meal/provide any kind of remedy. I wasn't looking for a free meal, but the lack of follow-through to remedy the situation was the icing on the cake (or insert some kind of raw steak pun). My cocktail (which all arrived AFTER our meals were delivered) was pretty good, thus the 2 stars. But I question why/how my steak was so raw despite me waiting 45-55 minutes for it. Overall, only come here for drinks - so long as you're okay with waiting forever & a day for them.
