Still woking and egg rolling. Still delicious. Love what happens here. Tasty dishes and fast service. Usually start with pork fried rice, egg rolls and cashew chicken. My favorite dish will always be fried rice. Perfect blend of rice and oil with plenty of pork and spices for that excellent flavor. Crispy egg rolls stuffed with shredded vegetables and pork with rich red sweet sauce. The cashew chicken, rich brown sauce and fresh veggies over rice is just what you need. I've lived in this area for almost 10 years and never been here. It's definitely a bit misleading and confusing as you see the prices on the front of the building before you even walk in. It always seemed a bit too expensive to me. I've been to all the other shops in this strip mall, but finally decided to take a chance on it. Definitely a hidden gem, hole in the wall place. Haven't been here for years so after yoga tonight, feeling like some beef broccoli and called in an order! Was told 20-25 minutes so took my time driving there. Love wonton soup so added that on to my combo meal and glad I did! Lots of veggies, broccoli, cabbage and a few carrot slivers in with chicken and wontons. A meal by itself! I had a bit and saved the rest for another meal. The combo meal I ordered was more then enough for two people with beef broccoli, chicken chow mein and fried rice. Now onto flavor, a little on the bland side so I added some pepper and soyu to beef it up!( I'm seeing a trend, maybe it's my taste buds!) Definitely satisfied and will be sure to order again! It's been a while since I've ordered from here, and I was really in the mood for soup. As always, my go to is Wor Wonton Soup when I need something hearty. The soups initial temperature typically is hot as hades so the walk a mile home in 40°F weather actually proved useful and everything was a proper eating temperature. The broth was flavorful and required no additional seasoning. The usual ingredients were inside except one; and can be there one time and gone another so expect a little inconsistency on repeat orders. Sliced beef was missing but not a deal breaker. Time from order to receipt of the order was longer than expected at about 45-minutes but worth the wait all the same. They've condensed the menu a bit since COVID-19 began their journey into a busy local business that tries to please their customers as best as possible. I like that they use white meat for many of their chicken dishes and the pork fried noodles are made with really lean pork marinated in a char siu seasoning. I was out in the North Valleys and craving Chinese food again, haha. I decided to return to a place I first tried in 1997. And I was not disappointed! I have been to the Asian Wok in NW Reno, in recent history. And I loved it. So I wanted to go back to the one in Stead. First of all, the staff was friendly and helpful. Even wished everybody a merry christmas! Talked to everyone who came in. There wasn't a big crowd, but a few people there. I ordered crab rangoon, general's chicken and shrimp fried rice. The meal takes a little bit to cook, but thats okay! It was made just right! The chicken was huge pieces and meaty! Lots of rice with lots of shrimp! Asian Wok is a good place to get Chinese, especially since there's no other option nearby. I will say, it's kind of obnoxious that there's no delivery option, even with Post-Mates or anything like that. Now, I'd never say this was top of the line Chinese, but it is perfectly fine. It is good even. It satisfies whatever Chinese food craving you're having, and for SUPER affordable prices. I got 3 entrees and an appetizer for just over $30. Fed 3 full grown men. Ok so...the Pork didn't thaw in time to cook some Stir Fry so we decided to have some Chinese take out. We normally do Egg Roll King in a pinch, but wife wanted to try something new. She was driving so I left it to her. My wife always orders the most Americanized Chinese food. That just what she does. Though I enjoy more Mainland Chinese foods, it's easy to compare these foods she ordered. Here is what we ordered: Generals Chicken Bricolli Beef House fried rice Potstickers Chicken chow mien Sweet and sour pork Vegetarian Delite All at around $55 dollars. I give this take-out a solid middle of the road rating. Though nothing was bad, nothing stood out either. The pot stickers were ok. The battered meat was heavy on the batter. Chow mien was almost taste-less. Add some soy sauce (light) and our own home made Thai chili sauce and the food was bearable. It tasted about the same as the Chinese food you get in the UK, bland. Needed a orange chicken fix. Been seeing people post on fb they come here so tried it out. Got it to go as they have no sit down area. I got orange chicken a side of fried rice. Serving size was enough for 2 and it was a little under 11 dollars which is a bargain these days. First the orange chicken. The pieces were plenty and large. The sauce was just enough not to crazy and the chicken had a crisp to it. The rice was so great that i can't wait to go back and get more. The lady was very nice to me and thanked me. My only thing keeping me from giving this a 5 star was I waited around 30 min. Which is my fault not knowing most people just call in orders. Lesson learned and will be my go to place. read more

I think today is the happiest day of my life! Asian Wok has been closed for almost 2 months, and I wish I could say that I didn't know how much they meant to me, but I do know. They have always been my family's go to when we want something healthy but don't want to cook, or when we aren't feeling well and want their magical wonton soup! These past two months have reinforced how important they are to us. I'm so glad that we aren't the only ones who have been looking forward to their reopening, as they were very busy today. Our food might have taken a little longer because of it, but that makes me happy that things are going well. Thank you, Joyce, Janet, and the rest of the team at Asian Wok! The restaurant is insanely clean, food is made fresh, and the lady that helped us was pretty nice. If you're in need of a Chinese food fix, Asian Wok should suffice. Since there has been limited places to eat in the new normal of the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to give Asian Wok another try. My first visit back, I had the combination meal of Orange Chicken and Chicken Chow Mein. The Orange Chicken tasted a lot better than my last experience, but it is still lacking in heat for a traditionally spicy dish. The Chicken Chow Mein has great flavor, but the noodles are super soggy, not fresh. My second visit I had the Beef n' Broccoli and again with Chicken Chow Mein. If I could give this place no stars I would. This is the WORST Chinese food I've ever had and the worst in town. Ordered Mongolian beef, general chicken, house fried rice, house chow mein and crab Rangoon. Spent almost $60 to just throw it all away. Generals chicken is spicy and crunchy. This had a runny pink sauce on it and was soggy. The beef in the Mongolian beef was chewy and rubbery. The crab Rangoons lacked most of the filling and had zero flavor. The chow mein noodles were a gross texture and gross flavor. The fried rice was not horrible but could of been way better. Idk how this place has a 3.5 stars rating. I was excited to try this place after moving up here from in town. Unfortunately, this was literally the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I took two bites from two different dishes and that's all I could handle. My wife found it equally as bad, though she did manage to eat the fried rice. My first warning should have been the fact the sweet and sour sauce was as thin as water when we left with the take out order. The generals chicken was literally just chicken tossed in sweet and sour sauce with black pepper? The Mongolian beef was inedible, as was the house chow mein. I'm not a Chinese food snob by any means, I'm familiar with Chinese cafeteria (fast) food. I can eat egg roll king or the late night one just fine. But I ended up just throwing away $50 worth of food and going to a drive through for tacos after. We were a little shocked because of the positive reviews, so we asked some neighbors about it and they all reported the place changed ownership recently and everyone also said it was terrible now. This is my go-to for take-out Chinese food in Reno. Admittedly, Asian Wok is a lot like most other neighborhood food joints. So what makes this place so special, then? For one thing, this is some of the better to-go Chinese food in town, in my opinion. Their menu has a good amount of options, maybe just very slightly smaller than other places, but what they have is really good. I'm personally a big fan of their general's chicken, sesame chicken, and their chow mein, as well as the honey-walnut shrimp. A couple years ago, I nearly died from excitement when they also put crab rangoons on the menu. You can get a combo plate, comprising two entrees with rice or chow mein, for about $7. A la carte entrees with steamed rice are about $8-$9. Specials can go upwards a few dollars more. And appetizers and soups tend to be just a few bucks or so. And portion-wise, you do get a pretty hefty amount for the price you pay. Everything is cooked exceptionally quick, and served up piping hot, right from the wok. Beyond the food, I just have a soft spot for this place. This was sort of my local neighborhood Chinese restaurant when I was growing up. Even to this day, I think their quality has stayed pretty level. I walk in, and the same family that opened it is still runing the joint, they still recognize me, and can anticipate me ordering my usual combo plate most of the time. It is nice when you can find a place like that. And the way they greet every customer with friendly hellos and appreciative thanks for your business is something I always smile at. This is what really nudges Asian Wok into the four-star bracket, for me. It is located in a strip-mall at the bottom of Stead Blvd, really close to the freeway. Parking is pretty good, but getting in and out of the lot can be tricky at certain times since that section of the street is not just near the freeway on/off ramp, but also a big school zone, with two closely spaced lights, and placed along the busiest part of the main neighborhood drag. (yeah, who thought this arrangement up?) Walking in, you clearly see that the decor hasn't been changed in years, the lighting is a bit dim, and you do rarely see people actually sit down and eat their meals there. But that's alright, since given their quick cook times and service, they seem to emphasize more of the to-go aspect of their business anyway. So yeah, this is not the height of Chinese cuisine here. But as far as a good 'ol neighborhood joint goes, this checks all the boxes for me. read more
