We've been hiring Aspect to handle our plumbing needs since we moved in, April 2014. We are on a well and septic system. Upon moving in, we weren't properly informed that under current conditions, we were pretty much destined to flood. Unfortunately we learned this the hard way, and had a horrible flood that took out half of our home. Aspect was a major part of the preventative work that went into making sure this wouldn't happen again and have provided in immeasurable amount of piece of mind throughout. All in all, they've helped us on several occasions with issues ranging from pipes that run from the septic to our home, instilling new pipes and ejector pump, they installed a steel sump pump in our crawl space, and a valve box that prevents wastewater from ever back-flowing from our septic system into our home. Matthew, Jared, and the Aspect team has always provided quality work, complete with thorough breakdowns of options, best recommendations for courses of action, and their pricing is fair. Perhaps most importantly, they are always available to take my calls and answer my questions pertaining to past jobs - something that I very much appreciate when it comes to those that work on my home. Finally, they are timely and dependable. I've never dealt with reschedules, they arrive on time, they perform the task at hand in a timely fashion, and are never trying to "advise us" into doing work that isn't necessary. When working with Aspect, I feel like they genuinely treat my home as if it were their own. You're dealing with good, honest people. I had used Aspect about 3 months ago when I had an issue with my garbage disposal. Matt was on time, explained the issue, cleaned up after himself. I was very pleased and thought I had found a company I could call and feel comfortable with for any plumbing issues. About a week ago, my drain started smelling again. I called and scheduled an appointment. Matthew called me the day before and asked if I could change the time. I told him no problem that 11:00 would be fine. At 11:20 the doorbell rings. I open it and the worker from Aspect introduces himself. (I do not remember his name). He proceeds to walk past me into the kitchen and throw the booties that are supposed to have been put on his shoes onto the kitchen counter. He has me turn on the disposal and then turn it off. He pours some disposal/drain cleaner into the drain and turns on the disposal again while lecturing me about what I put down my garbage disposal. He tells me to use this "cleaner" when the drain starts to smell again. I ask how often and he tells me once a week if needed. He left the bottle, grabbed his booties and left. Did this fixed my issue? I can't tell you. The smell is gone but is it gone or just masked. I was very disappointed as my first experience was so positive and this time it was the complete opposite. read more

I was in need of a plumber to solve a drain or sewer issue. Nothing in my home seemed to drain at all so I contacted and made appointments with 3 different plumbers, as I read to always get different opinions when dealing with contractors. Aspect Plumbing had sent Brian out to diagnose my problem. He quickly determined it was just a clogged main pipe and that a cable rooter service was all I needed. The other two plumbers I called both tried to tell me I needed to replace the line, dig up my front yard, and scared me and tried to pressure me into a very large project. Brian from Aspect Plumbing was very nice, explained the situation to me in a way I understood what was wrong and what needed to be done to fix it. He also did not pressure me with any sales pitch like the others did, and there price was significantly lower than the others quoted. Next time I am in need of a plumber or someone to fix our heating and air conditioning system I feel comfortable just calling these guys and giving them the job. I have not had the problem since Brian cleaned the line out, as well he cleaned up the work area and you would have never known he was there. I called Aspect and scheduled for a inspection and quote to get a new Sewage Ejector Pump installed in the basement on 8/23/18. Jaryd showed up for the time scheduled and took a quick look at the old pump and explained how the pump is supposed to work, what the issue is with my current pump, and what the best course of action would be. He didn't try to oversell me on any premiums, just the bare bones cost to replace the pump and ensure it would work for the next 30 years. Process to replace the pump was pretty quick and relatively painless, Jaryd explained the steps as he went along and what the purpose was. When everything was completed, he even took the time to clean up after himself, stating everything they do they treat as if it was their own home! While he was here he looked at the water heater and provided a quote for a replacement in the future (its already 14 years old so it'll be due for replacement soon), stating he would honor the price whether the heater needed to be replaced now or a couple years from now. I had a small punch list of plumbing problems to fix. I called Aspect based on all the very positive reviews I read. Matt was exactly as described. I told him the list of repairs I needed. He told me they could do all of it and he would send a tech. There would be a $40 service call for the tech. The tech would analyze all the problems and give me quotes for each (For some of the problems, the tech might provide multiple prices, based on the solution I chose.). Jaryd arrived exactly at the promised time and went through each one of problems. Two of the problems he fixed while examining them and said they would be covered in the service call price. Two more he gave me written quotes for and fixed while he was there. The final problem was a major one (water hammer) and he said the cost of repair couldn't be justified. He told me how to manage it myself (approximately 30 minutes of maintenance/year should solve it) and he was done. We thought we had an issue with our washing machine as some water was coming out of an overrun pipe in our basement. We called a few places that said they had 24 hrs service. Aspect was the first to call us back and Matthew arrived to inspect the situation the next day. Turns out we had a much bigger issue and would require a huge repair replacement of the water main headed to the street. Because (thankfully!) we live in Downers Grove the city made the repairs and we incurred no expense from it. Matthew was very genuine in trying to help us and didn't suggest or push any expensive repairs that we didn't need. Our experience was very different than what I've experienced with any other plumbing companies in the past at any of our properties. I purchased a home in April of this year that needed the tankless water heater replaced. Prior to calling Matthew, I was working with an unethical plumber, so I fired him and hired Matt. He replaced my hot water heater, installed a relay for my hydronic flooring system, installed thermostat for heated flooring, removed sump pit under basement sink, and installed my new washer and dryer. The previous plumber didn't even acknowledge the presence of hydronic heated flooring on the entire first floor of my home. Secondly, previous plumber was intending to install a tankless water heater that would not have been sufficient for my needs. Matt's integrity is exemplary, his knowledge and expertise merits infinite praise. I recommend Matt without reservation. A one million star rating would still not be enough for this plumber. After debating and researching a long time I called Aspect Plumbing to come out and help me with my plumbing issues. Everything went perfectly well and I am really picky and expect nothing but perfection and when I say it I mean it. Jared and Matthew both are great. Both provided me with better understanding of the issues I had and help me fix those. Matthew went above and beyond and also helped me with extra issues and concerns. They helped me with fixing a pump in the basement, garbage disposal and a bathroom under the sink plumbing plus a bathtub drain issue. Had a leaking toilet and called Aspect after seeing all the positive reviews they have. Jaryd came to fix the toilet. He was on time, professional and friendly. Saw the issue and explained what he is going to do and fixed the issue. After fixing, he cleaned up all the mess and the toilet works perfect now. There was an issue with another bathroom too, which is a little complicated. However, it was not an urgent thing that we needed. So, he had a look at that and gave me the options and a quote. Since it is a little expensive fix, we decided not to fix it now. Will call them to fix it when we are ready. I called Aspect after a sewer backup in the basement. Jaryd and Matt came immediately the next morning to take care of the problem for me. They handled everything swiftly and efficiently. Had a water heater stop working out in Palatine, and called Aspect after getting quotes from others in the area. Aspect had a good price and was able to come out within a few hours which was great. Jaryd arrived within the small window (1.5hr) that was provided, and quickly confirmed the issue and double checked that we had the right replacement part with the manufacturer. He was very knowledgeable and professional. Not only did he repair/replace the issue at hand, but also thoroughly checked to make sure we had no leaks to give us peace of mind. I called Aspect when our water heater was leaking all over our basement. It was an emergency and they sent Jaryd over within 2 hours. Jaryd diagnosed the problem - suggested the best, most cost efficient replacement and got the whole job done within 3 hours. He was very professional and knowledgeable. They removed the old water heater and took it away and replaced with a high efficiency tankless water heater. The cost was very reasonable. This is BY FAR the best company you can call! Matthew was a great communicator, letting us know everything that was going on and all of our options. Jared is extremely friendly and helpful as well. We ended up having tree roots in our lines, which could have been a total nightmare, but they were able to take care of us, pretty pain free! Matthew assured us that he would never have employees/subcontractors on his jobs that he wouldn't send to his grandmother's house and I actually believe him! I contacted Mathew at Aspect Plumbing and described with our master bathroom shower drain leaking into the ceiling in the garage. Over the phone, he estimated the repair would run between $250 - $350. He came out, confirmed the problem, took measurements and made the repair. He provided two options regarding the drain replacement. The final repair was well within the estimate he proved over the phone. They performed a high-quality repair and verified the leak was resolved. They also cleaned up the repair area when they finished. Aspect Plumbing was great! Matthew is very well informed on the phone, addressed my issues and got me an appointment the very next morning. Jared came out this morning and was prompt, professional, and very knowledgable. He was able to give me an estimate for both routes of running a natural gas line, and was very honest with both.
