Aspen always finds more issues than you present. All add to the bill, which they confuse by adding pages of figures. I had two "procedures" completely unnecessary. Their goal is to add so much detail, it's impossible to determine proper charges vs. insurance payments. Also of note-never think you will get an appointment based on pain. I called and could see a dentist in 3 months. That's the stimuli for me leaving. Leave now when there is no urgency. read more

Called to set up a new patient exam and a cleaning. Was happy they had an opening the next day! Then they called back and explained how it was only my exam and they would have to schedule me after the exam for a cleaning. I explained to them that I had to take time off work to come in, so I would be more than happy to wait until a day they had time to do both. They said they couldn't do that. They couldn't schedule me for a cleaning until after I come in for the exam. Does this place not understand that people work and have to take time off to come in? They she started getting rude when I was trying to ask why and how I didn't want to take 2 days off work. Three sets of dentures in less than six years. Every set cracked right down the middle. Two sets were less than one year old. They replaced the last set free of charge only to have them crack within 8 months. When I expressed my displeasure with the last set, I was informed the dentist would not make any more impression. I went in to that office 1.5 years ago just to ask the dentist a question and not to go throught the whole "first free visit thing", I even paid for it. It didn't matter one iota. They are expected to go throught he whole ordeal dispite what anyone wants. To be fair, the young lady that took the x-rays was very nice and efficient and the dentist was a young lady who seemed very astute and did what I asked and answered my question. Very disappointed in customer service and concern for patient. My teeth are in bad shape. I went in hoping to have a tooth removed and was told I need all removed and tried to sell me a $25k denture plan. I cannot afford that, even on a payment plan. I left several messages to discuss my options but my calls were never returned. Went in again two weeks later and was charged for another exam ($155) and was told it would be another $290 to remove the tooth. I am guessing because I am needy and don't have insurance they would rather not help me. They were very condescending. The only good news is they refunded my second exam fee. Would not recommend unless you have the patience of Job and the pockets of Midas. Cannot comment on the care quality because I never made it that far, unfortunately. read more

This company is awful. i received services from them in 2022 and paid thousands of dollars of what i was advised by them was my out of pocket amount quoted up front before having services done and was advised that my insurance would cover the rest. After receiving service, several months later in May of 2023, i received another bill for more out of pocket for another almost $1600.00 dollars. i could not speak to anyone at Aspen dental about the bill because they had been hacked and their billing was screwed up. So i paid that to keep my credit intact. Today, i open the mail and received a letter from a collection agency saying that i owed $454.00 more dollar that was not shown on my account previously and i never received a bill or a telephone call for. I had a crown and filling done of Nov. 2022. I was given a dentist out of my insurance network. After getting a bill for over $2000. I finally paid it off after bickering with aspen and the insurance company. Got no where so finally paid off the bill to save my credit. A couple of days ago I got another bill for $600.40 dollars. After calling to ask why, I was told they would check into it and call me back, well they never did. Am I to never stop paying these people for something that was their fault to begin with? By the way, I never did go back to them after Nov. 2022, so where is that extra billing coming from? Still in the middle of having multiple issues cared for - among them new partial dentures. Patient discomfort is not a priority issue for them, they have offered solutions that will only result in an extended period of discomfort and the best solution is to show up at the office as a "walk-in" and maybe after several hours wait you'll be seen (or not). They are very good at insisting that everything is paid upfront, but prompt anything seems to be only expected from their patients and not by their staff. Would not recommend to anyone. Also, do NOT become frustrated with their unresponsiveness - because when you express dissatisfaction with their responses, they shut you down and let you know your dissatisfaction is not their concern. - Very unsatisfactory experience in all regards. read more

First let me say that everyone I saw today was pleasant and professional. This was my first visit to Aspen Dental and what was obvious from the moment I walked in was that they were extremely overwhelmed. No one was at the reception desk. I waited for over 10 minutes before being handed an iPad to sign in. That, though, was not my issue. My exam was thorough and after it was completed I was told that before any future work would be performed I had to pay a extremely high copay. I am not having any problems with my teeth no pain or discomfort. While I don't disagree that I will need some significant dental work done in the future, I was told that I could not spread the work out over an mutually agreed period of time. I was also told that they would not even do a routine cleaning unless I agreed to pay the copay and have their recommended procedures done in conjunction with the cleaning. I have never been told that I had to pay for and have a procedure done without given the option to schedule a mutually agreed timeframe. I could understand the immediacy if I walked in in pain or complaining of pain or discomfort. I was not or have not been experiencing any medical or dental problems. All this lead me to think that Aspen was money driven not patient focused. Heather, what your office did was very wrong. Your office was attempting to make me pay for dental work, some of which was totally unnecessary at this time, without giving me the opportunity to discuss their schedule or plan. I was told by your office that they would not schedule a cleaning unless I agreed, in total, to the dental work they presented as well as the cost associated with that work. I believe that is medically unethical and I plan to submit a complaint to the Florida Dental Association. read more

I swear I was sold on so many products and the checkup was so quick it was almost impossible to believe that they concluded with needing so many of these products I have to pay extra for. Went to Aspen Dental for a filling. Waited approximately 40 minutes to be seen during a scheduled appointment. XRay tech used me as a funny pig for a new XRay machine. Sat in the dentist chair and was approached by a hygienist who was acting like a car salesman telling me how bad I needed a "deep cleaning!" Enter Dr. Rennie and he started to tell me everything that was wrong except that he never talked about the cracked filling I came in there for. I decided not to go with the treatment recommend, but they charged my insurance for services that were not performed. These butchers are known for over diagnosing patients, particularly senior citizens. CUSTOMER BEWARE!! I was kinda leery of big chain dental offices but I checked out the dentists here and services offered and I was impressed. I like the fact that I can schedule my first appt online. The office is very clean including restrooms and a spacious waiting room. The first person gave me all my X-rays then I go into another exam room to with other dental hygienist with very high tech screens and gadgets. She checked my teeth and asked a few questions all while I was able to look at a screen I from of me and see my X-rays and the particular tooth being discussed. The dentist came in and introduced himself and was a very funny guy. He exams me and made me feel very comfortable in fact everyone did. I truly enjoyed my dental visit. Too bad I must return for some dental work. I hope all goes well as my first visit. read more

And over a month ago, I called the CallCenter for Aspen dental and was given a appointment a month out being told that it was the soonest appointment available. The day before the appointment I receive a text message saying "you need to call the office immediately regarding your next appointment" so I called the office and the receptionist says to me "we don't see you on the schedule, the CallCenter must've made a mistake when scheduling you." I informed her that I've been waiting over a month for this appointment, and asked how they knew to text about the appointment if it was never scheduled. She dismissed the question and said "I'm sorry about the mix up, we can get you in at 2 o'clock instead of 9 am" so I there today and the receptionist says I don't see you on the schedule for today. I told her about calling the day before, the text message I received and how it seemed very nonsensical and strange that I would get a text message that lists my appointment date and time saying to call in. So how and why did you know to text me then in regards to it? It doesn't make sense. She told me I wouldn't be being seen. I was furious. I waited for no reason all month for a quote from this place with dental pain. She asked if I would give my phone number to be called in the morning to reschedule because their computer system was down. I 100% did not leave my number after that experience. I wasted my valuable time to get to this appointment and I waited with serious dental issues thinking this place was going to be worth it. I had a tooth ache and decided to go to this facility. They took an exam and suggested deep cleaning. After paying them a ton of money the tooth ache has got much, much worse. I have not been able to drink hot coffee or cold smoothies for over a month now. And now they do not have any time for me. Earliest they can get me in is months from now. Very nice people, the doctor did am amazing job with a tooth extraction. My negative review is because of the way they treated my friend. She's a 65 year old veteran on a fixed income. They wanted to pull a bunch of teeth, within a 2 week period, even though they work just fine, and she could not afford the work or the partials. She made the mistake of asking if they had a payment plan. They signed her up for financing, at 25% interest, and had her scheduled for 2 appointments, within 2 weeks, to pull the teeth, leaving her with a $3,000 bill, at 25% interest, that she could not afford. I went to her home the next morning and she was in tears. I drove her back to Aspen Dental and we told them to cancel everything. It was cancelled less then 24 hours later, and she still received an interest bill for $5 and change. Aspen Dental told her, very nicely, not our problem. Neither of us will be going back. read more

I made an appointment for a free consultation to have an abutment and crown put on an existing implant. They would not give me a price until they saw the implant. When I arrived, I was told by the x-ray tech that I had to have a full mouth x-ray and comprehensive dental exam first for $129.00 before they would look at the implant. I refused and the tech went to discuss with the dentists who sent the x-ray tech in again to tell me they could just do 5 x-rays, 1 being the implant itself, 2 bitewings, and 2 more. Again I refused the unnecessary x-rays and said I came for a consult on only my implant and a focused exam concerning that implant so I could get a price. Again, the sweet x-ray tech relayed the information and the dentist refused to only look at my implant. What a waste of time! I wonder if they do this bait and switch con with everyone? This place is honestly horrible. I am a young adult with horrible tooth enamel and have needed a root canal. I called and explained the situation and they scheduled me. I got there they did a x-ray which was fine. After telling them I was in pain and really needed the procedure done they made me wait in the chair for over 45 minutes. After they have said well we can schedule the appointment to get it the root canal done but only after they get there money. I told them the amount was way to steep and that my insurance was supposed to cover it ( which they told me when I called). This ended up not being the case and they wanted me to wait months. I went back a few weeks later because I was in pain. They ask if I would go to another location so they can see me faster. THIS IS BULLSHIT but I drive 45 MINUTES to another location and they make me wait a hour and tell me they will not be doing anything because it's not my normal location and then asked for $100 dollars I told them no they did not do anything except make me sit in a chair and havereceptionist talk to me like I was stupid. Worst dental experience I've ever had. Went here because it was on my insurance last March. After doing a round of xrays, they told me I had 3 cavities, gingivitis, and some other issue and it was going run me $1000+. Ive NEVER had a cavity or teeth issue in my life. They told my wife to sign up for a pre-qualifications but ending up charging her for $8k after getting an exam and a quote without asking her if she was ok with that. After my wife talked to the receptionist she told my wife to call to the pre-qualifications place and have them reversed the charges, but when she did the place told her that is Aspen Dental job to reverse it not them. My wife called Aspen Dental asking them to reverse the charges that they have made and told them what the other place have told her that Aspen Dental is responsible for reversing the charges not them. Aspen Dental agree to reverse all charges for my wife. After a few days my wife called the pre-qualification place to see if the charges have been reversed, but they said that Aspen Dental haven't reverse it yet. We then go back to Aspen Dental to see what going on and they told us they need to send the request to their RM for approval. Well why didn't you ask my wife for approval for the $8k charges when you charged her in the first place???? Anyway they got really NASTY about it after I confronted them of their SCAM.
