We loved our breakfast outside in the little courtyard. Beautiful area right by the water. They don't have a huge menu but they've got a nice mix of healthy and savory and sweet to choose from! Service was good. Good lattes and cappuccino as well!

Absolutely fantastic ambiance. Even in the winter when the outdoor seating is not an option, it is a true pleasure to enjoy the vintage environment of this dining room. On many evenings, they have excellent small-combo music playing next to the window facing Main, super classy music always. Service is always professional and actually notably fast. So fast that you'll want to make an excuse to linger longer because it's such a nice place to experience. I wish I loved the food more. Everything has been fine, but it took several visits before I settled on something I thought was excellent, and that was the Apple Bacon Bleu flatbread pizza. It sounds weirder than it is; the predominant flavor is the bacon, with "apple" and "bleu" coming through as more subtle flavor notes that make the whole thing interesting. I've also had okay Eggs Benedict, Turkey Wild Rice soup, appetizers, and salads. I'm told the Artichoke Dip is good, but that's not my scene so I haven't experienced it. The food is good enough that it's at least worth trying for the overall experience. There are more things on the menu that I want to try, and it's such a lovely space that I'll take whatever excuse it takes to hang out here again.

We had a reservation for 2 on a Thursday, but even with great weather we could have been sat on the patio with no reservation! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food selection was perfect for a quick bite before heading to the Main Theater. We each had a flatbread pizza and it was more than enough for one person. The non-alcoholic drink options were good as well, we love to see a hop water on the menu! Service was nice and attentive. We will be coming back to see the live music some time!

Always love the patio and sangria! Got the breakfast pizza and it was delicious- will be back for it! Such a convenient place to enjoy the views and some good drinks.

Cool spot to listen to some chill live music and have a drink. Places like this typically have solid cocktails (bonus that they have really good coffee here) but the biggest surprise for me was how good the food was. It was like 9pm and I decided I needed a second dinner. I decided to try the savory pie and it was so good! I burned my mouth a few times because I couldn't help but dig in even when it was hot. No regrets. The vibe is cool, think "dark lounge". They also have a large outdoor area with a fire pit and a window by the bar for service. There wasn't much going on out there on this particular November evening because it was quite cold, but on milder evenings it seems like a great place to hang out. I don't live in Minneapolis, but visit occasionally and would find my way back to this place if nearby. Go check it out.

I ate here for brunch one day on their patio at the recommendation of a local friend. I didn't have a reservation, but they were very kind and accommodating, even helping me find a spot in the shade. The patio is gorgeous, right on on the river with lots of trees. The interior is much more of a dark pub vibe, but fun in a different way. The service was a bit slow, with it taking a while to order, get soda refills, and get my bill, but the server was very kind and and helpful when he was around. He provided great recommendations and I ended up going with one of them--the brunch pizza. It was delicious, with a surprisingly strong lemon flavor that I enjoyed (though I couldn't figure out what it was coming from--the cheese? the green onions?). If I were local, I would come back.

Visited 1/31/26. Full disclaimer, they were a bit busier on this day so it may have just been an "off-day." Stopped in for lunch during Mpls winter festival and I ordered the brunch flatbread. It was definitely a bummer and was missing the bacon but our server didn't check in so I just did without. The eggs are more of a hard boiled almost type texture which doesn't lend itself as well to a breakfast pizza and the potatoes felt a bit undercooked. Bummer but the location is still top notch!

Stopped by for happy hour around 5. Ordered brisket tacos, which were $4 each during this time, and a pitcher of sangria which was $30. The brisket tacos were really delicious and so was the sangria. I especially appreciated that it had a lot of fresh fruit in it! The ambience outside is really nice in the summer and the views of downtown are fantastic so definitely recommend sitting in the patio if possible. It does get busy after 5:30 or so!

TL; DR: Great patio and food Visited Aster Cafe on the Fourth of July and was able to get seated on the patio. We were able to get in right away with 8 people. They had a vibey guitarist playing for a little bit, so the experience felt very elevated with the live music. The Chicken Caesar Wrap was delicious and the Roasted Portobello Sandwich was good (tip: only order if you really like mushrooms). Their dirty martini was good, but nothing too special. Prices were great for the entertainment and eating outside. Location was great for walking around before and after as well.

Welcoming little cafe along the river side. Wanted to sit out on patio but it was closed due to rain. Inside is quaint welcoming cafe bar with well worn old school charm. Tables are close and friendly atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table without reservations. Waitresses were friendly and efficient. The food runners kept the food coming quickly. We really enjoyed our brunch and recommend the experience. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because of my poached eggs. I really enjoy poached eggs and so I want them done correctly. I ordered eggs Benedict with salad and my poached eggs were overdone, cooked hard. See picture. I understand that a busy restaurant can make a mistake but I asked for my eggs to be redone and the new eggs arrived the same, hard cooked. Our friend arrived a little late and joined us, she ordered eggs Benedict with potatoes and her eggs arrived exactly done correctly, see picture. Why the cook couldn't get mine right I'm not sure, but this should not have happened when I asked for it to be corrected. It took away from having a great brunch to a mediocre one.

Met some friends here for a last minute patio drink & app and had a very nice time!! The patio space is gorgeous and is the perfect place to sit at night under the string lights with a drink and talk. The salad was also surprisingly good, very refreshing and good portion for sharing. We were able to get seated right away on a Saturday night as well!

Visited Aster Cafe for my birthday they were super accommodating we brought a group of 12 people in. Our server was fantastic. We tried a lot of items off the menu. Some favorites were spinach artichoke dip, hummus platter and a shrimp bowl. Drinks: my favorite were a mule and an espresso martini. They also have live music very frequently, we didn't stay because it was a $20 cover. Would be a cute date spot with nice weather to walk along the river after dinner.

We went there for Blue Grass and High 48. The band was fantastic. The food was great as well. Had the Shakshuka. It had nothing to do with Blue Grass but was a delightful Meditarian/North African dish. My partners had more traditional brunch dishes. All were great. The brunch, drinks, and service were excellent. Note this is a loud venue, so I would not recommend it for a date event since you cannot talk to each other. Enjoy the music and food, and smile across the table.

It seemed a little loud though, even though the restaurant wasn't close to Full. There was some confusion with us originally getting the wrong menu but after it was all sorted out, seemed like a good selection! A couple of us got there a little earlier than the others and ordered cocktails - right from the beginning the service seemed a little slow. Our cocktails took a minute, and then it took even longer for them to take the orders for the other gals. We got a couple of shareable that were all great and ordered our meal . But again, everything seemed very slow. It took forever for us to get our food - we were nervous. We were going to be late for our show that was just a few minutes down the road because our main courses took so long. I had the Luna burger and it was decent a little dry, but it had good toppings on it. Everyone seemed pretty pleased with their food overall it's just a shame that the dinner experience took so long. I also found the prices were a little high for the quality of food you were actually getting. I wouldn't tell somebody to never go there, but I would tell them to prepare for a wait jic it was always like that.

This makes the burger really chewy and you really can't taste the beef anymore like you used to when it was thicker. I would take this as it's not as good as it used to be. It is not as good as the original hype from the beginning. In conclusion, I do not think it's worth the $19. I rather get a cheesesteak for $16 at Tono's which comes with fresh not burnt fries rather than come back here and get a burger here. It's highly unlikely I will be back here. I honestly feel like the burgers have gone way WAY downhill. The fries here have gotten terrible so I stopped getting the fries a long time ago. They are not soft crisp like they used to be. They are too golden brown color, almost like burnt hard fries. I never like to eat down here. I normally would order the Parlour burger upstairs. The basement part which is Parlour has a weird smell like a locker room smell so that's why I don't like to eat down here.
