This is lounge area , food hall and study space in one lol . You sit at the table and scan an de and the food hall menu from all the different restaurants pop up for them to bring it to your table . This orders come rather quick and the staff is very friendly. If you need a quick break and snacks the you are walking towards the Gold Coast this a nice gem to step in and have a drink and quick bite .

The matcha here is really good and doesn't give me a headache from being too strong ! I really love the light flavor and the service was very quick, however I don't like how drinks are provided without a top and set out to the public. Many people were coughing and I felt as if my drink could be contaminated due to this . I think any paying customer would appreciate a covered drink upon retrieval especially in a food hall where there are many customers, service pets and passerbyers for food safety. Nevertheless , The food hall is a well lit and a nice place to take a break from shopping.

Ate at small cheval in aster hall. IThis is a very good burger. It's not au cheval but it was so so good and for the price??? Definitely worth it. Au cheval is a bit pricey so it's nice to have an alternative.

As always, Aster Hall is incredible. I stopped for lunch after shopping with my family. They have never been so I wanted to show them. I love the upstairs but they wanted a more casual vibe. So we grabbed a table in front of the huge round window. The atmosphere is always bright fresh and inviting. It is always clean and comfortable. I love the large marble sinks to wash your hands before your meal. Our meals were all hot and delicious. The variety of options is endless. I will return soon.

This place is wonderful. So many options to choose from and very quick & efficient. We went with Small Cheval and also grabbed some fountain pops from the Chocolate stand. This place is beautifully decorated and is a great dining experience.

I went with a group here and it was so nice to cater to everyone's varying food preferences! I opted for a salmon poké bowl from Aster Sushi. It was delicious! My only complaint is that I wanted sriracha and they wouldn't provide any despite having bottles of it in their kitchen. The food hall has digital screens to order from which made it super easy to see all of the food options. I wish there was a bar with the food to be able to enjoy a cocktail with your meal. It was located upstairs and we had children in our party, so it wasn't easy to go and eat in the bar area.

I came here with low expectation as people were recommending it more as a work-from-home spot rather for the food it offers. However, the food was very good an affordable!! The chicken shawarma pita bowl is absolutely delicious, I'd totally come back just for it!

This was such a cool concept and it made it so easy with 5 of us that all wanted to eat something different. You order at a kiosk and you get a text from each place when your food is ready and your receipt tells you which window to go to. They had such a variety of options that everyone could easily find something they wanted. The sinks/soap in the dining area was very convenient but there wasn't paper towel left which left my hands soaked. I believe there was also a bar on the floor above us but we didn't realize that until after we ordered. The food was surprisingly good. The salad was massive and the rest of our dinners were the perfect size for the price. No one in our group complained about any of their choices, even our 3 year old loved the mac and cheese. We will definitely come back on our next Chicago visit. We just wish it was open later.

We were walking around enjoying the Christmas decorations and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat and had seen this food hall before but had never tried it. We walked around to get an idea of what we wanted before heading to a kiosk to order. Ordering is at the kiosks only and it seems you need a physical credit card as it wasn't taking Apple pay so I had to dig out a card. Beverages aren't available from any of the food establishments' sections on the touchscreen which is a little annoying; I learned later you have to place a second order with the chocolate shop to get a cup for fountain drinks. I didn't figure that out before closing out my order and leaving the kiosk, so figured I'd just grab a cup of water but they were out of water cups...and no humans to ask...long lines to get back on a kiosk and then my food was ready so ended up with no beverage. The food was good though! I enjoyed my falafel salad which was fresh and the falafel was crispy. The garlic sauce was a nice touch. Other options looked good as well; I definitely recommend checking out both sides of the food hall to see all the options. Seating is limited so be prepared to potentially walk to another area of the mall to sit and eat if you aren't doing takeout. Not a bad option if you're looking for a quick bite in the Michigan Avenue shopping area. I'd recommend bringing a water bottle from home to avoid the beverage challenges I encountered.

You wouldn't expect much from a food court at a mall but Hogsalt (think Au Cheval, Galit, or Ciccio Mio) took this to the next level. The atmosphere harkens back to an earlier time in Chicago while the food is more modern. We ordered the Half Rotisserie Chicken from The Rotisserie and the Chicken Shawarma Hummus Bowl from Fresko. I would order both again. I don't know what they are feeding chickens nowadays but the Rotisserie Chicken was HUGE and succulent - all for $12.50. The sauce is also delicious as well, we had the honey mustard. The Chicken Shawarma Hummus Bowl was great too. The chicken was well seasoned and the hummus was creamy. I also appreciated the staff who was calling out order numbers and checking receipts. Last time we came he was able to restore order to the huge crowd gathered around Au Cheval. Also, there is a little sink with soap and paper towels where you can clean your hands after your meal which is a nice touch.

Great experience at Aster Hall for quick, quality bites. I enjoyed small Cheval burger and saw dishes from other stands as well that were tasty looking. The space is open and has multiple spaces to sit.

This place looks like a mall food court and an Apple Store had a love child. It's futuristic-looking, well-lit, and open. The ordering process is seamless. You can pick from many cuisines and can order multiple things to try on a giant tablet. Then you can get texts on your phone when your orders are ready, and it'll tell you which window to go to. There are also sinks and wet wipes to clean your hands without going to the bathroom. Tried a few things among my friends and I. Sushi was a bit dry but flavor was good. Highly recommend the mac and cheese from the pasta place, which was super rich and pure al dente perfection--great portion size and not bland at all. Cacio e pepe had a nice flavor and texture as well. The chicken shawarma bowl was a little salty but had a ton of yummy toppings like tabouleh and pickles. I am happy to have discovered this place--a true hidden gem! Will return to try even more soon.

We ordered the venison burger and, honestly, I was hesitant at first because I was worried it might be too gamey. However, our server did a great job explaining what to expect, and she was absolutely right. The venison patty was juicy, flavorful, and exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was attentive and efficient throughout our meal. They also have an impressive selection of signature cocktails. I didn't end up trying one because the drink I was interested in sounded a bit too strong for lunch, but it's definitely given me a reason to come back later for drinks. Overall, I left as a very happy customer and would gladly return.

After we sat down, our server took her sweet time getting to us and was largely absent the entire visit while the servers for the others tables were attentive and present as I've come to expect. We started with the Crispy Brussels and Burrata Toast which was an amazing and fun combination of flavors textures with the sherry glaze and pickled onions providing a perfect counter to the richness of the cheese. Our second course was the Gage Caesar which we've had before and have enjoyed sharing multiple times, but this time the lettuce was full of grit as if the prep chef did not even bother washing the lettuce. The server never came by to check on us so I had to wave the manager to complain about the salad. The server also never checked to see if we wanted refills on our cocktails so we placed our orders with the manager. The final dish was the venison burger which was perfectly cooked and seasoned if you like venison, which I do so we enjoyed that greatly. The condiments that came with it were perfectly matched to balance the game of the meat and the fries were perfect as usual! The server then FINALLY got more involved with our dinner and was predictably perky and present at the end, something that always irks me when they have been otherwise absent for the meal. The ONLY reason they are getting 3 stars instead of less for this visit was the flavor of the food and the response of the manager in dealing with the lack of service (and the gritty salad). I would give the initial server a zero if I could.

We chose to dine at Girl & the Goat in Chicago, a restaurant we had never visited before. The acclaimed restaurant by renowned chef Stephanie Izard truly lived up to its stellar reputation! One of the first things we appreciated was the convenience of the restaurant's valet parking, located right by the front patio. At $22 for up to four hours and $26 for four to eight hours, the rates were quite reasonable for the area. As soon as the three of us stepped inside Girl & the Goat (we had made a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Friday), we were warmly greeted by one of the two friendly hostesses, and were promptly led to a comfortable four-top table with a banquette and two chairs along the wall. We felt fortunate to have one of the better tables in the dining room, as some of the others were positioned very close together. The nearby two-top tables, in particular, were quite small and placed only a short distance from ours. The restaurant's rustic-industrial décor was dark but trendy and stylish, the lively and vibrant vibe was warm and welcoming. However, I have to mention that it was really loud in the dining room, as guests seemed to be enjoying themselves and talked loudly.  It was hard to hear our server and the staff who delivered and explained the dishes to us.  Our server, Yazmin, was extremely friendly and attentive.  It was very sweet of her to wish us a happy anniversary both in the beginning  and at the end of the meal.  She also checked in on us several times during the evening.  Now, on to the food and drinks. I started with a glass of the NA Sparkling Rosé ($17), which was light, crisp, and quite refreshing. My husband ordered a glass of Le Colture Prosecco ($18), while our daughter chose the Sun Kid ($18). She enjoyed her drink, although she felt the portion was a bit small, as the glass was filled with a lot of ice that took up much of the space. Since the restaurant offers small to medium plates which are shareable, Yazmin advised us to get 5 to 6 dishes for 3 people to share.  We decided to get 5 savory dishes and 3 desserts to share: Savory dishes: - Chickpea Fritters ($20), goat yogurt, green chutney, sev spice crunch, pickled rhubarb. - Pan Roasted Halibut ($37), miso-Marcona almond butter, spring onion blueberry nuoc cham. - Roasted Pig Face ($28), sunny side egg, tamarind, cilantro, red wine-maple, potato stix. - Goat Empanadas ($24), smoked tomato-corn salsa, roasted poblano crema queso fresco. - Confit Goat Belly ($38), strawberry goat braise, smoked yogurt drizzle, pickled strawberries. Desserts: - Vacation, Please! ($16), toasted coconut crunch, lemon passion fruit sorbet, rum-soaked pineapple cake. - Berry Yummy Par-tea ($16), earl grey soaked sponge cake, yuzu curd, spiced blackberries. - Chocolate Basil Brownie Bash ($16), olive oil semifreddo, chocolate fennel crunch, basil granita. The meal was just phenomenal!  All the savory dishes were cooked perfectly with bold flavors; the meats were tender and full of flavors.  There were dishes that we normally would not have ordered if we saw them on menus of other restaurants.  Here, we tried them and were delighted that we did!  Our consensus is that Roasted Pig Face is our most favorite! It is everything we love in a comfort dish -- crispy on the outside, meltingly tender inside, and packed with rich, balanced flavor.  We will definitely order this again!  The Confit Goat Belly is a close second, with buttery, fall-apart meat and just the right balance of richness, acidity, and crunch. For dessert, "Vacation, Please!" is the one that we will always come back for. The toasted coconut crunch adds texture, the lemon passion fruit sorbet brings a refreshing tang, and the rum-soaked pineapple cake ties it all together with just the right amount of sweetness.  The other two desserts that we ordered were also very good.  The staff even brought out a scoop of Chocolate Ice Cream on the house, with two lit candles to celebrate our anniversary - a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more memorable.  This dessert spread was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. I'd like to mention that the restaurant added a 4% surcharge to the bill, which the customer may request to have the surcharge remove if you choose.  We let them keep it. We spent about two hours at the restaurant. The savory dishes came out very quickly, the pace probably was even a tad too fast, but the desserts made up for it by taking a longer time.  We did not mind as we were still full, and had time to enjoy the ambiance more.  I would say it is a restaurant great for group gathering and celebratory functions, but not so much for intimate romantic date night.  All in all, it was a wonderful dinner, we look forward to returning again.

I was there the other week (I've been here at least five times before), and a busser--not our…read morewaiter--started clearing both of our plates before we were finished eating. We each only had a couple of bites left, but it definitely gave off an "okay, you're done now" vibe. Then he went to take the green beans (arguably the cult classic on the menu), and we still had more than half of them left. I had to stop him and say, "Yeah, we're not done with those. We paid for them. Can you put them in a to-go box instead?" For context, it was about 20 minutes before closing, but we ordered with plenty of time and were already eating with a "get in, eat, and get out" mindset. I've just never had someone at a restaurant start clearing plates while we were still actively eating--without asking, "Are you finished?" "Can I clear this?" or "Would you like a to-go box?" It was just... "You're done, these are leaving now." We were there for less than 45 minutes, left about 15 minutes before closing, and spent over $200 (not including the tip). With so many options in Chicago, I don't see myself coming back here.
