Really really yummy!! Ordered the crème brûlée milk tea w/ boba 30% sweet and it was so good!! The boba is perfectly chewy, milk tea had a strong tea flavor and the crème brûlée top added a nice creaminess to the drink. Prob my favorite crème brûlée drink around the area. I've been searching for a solid crème brûlée milk tea after getting hooked on it from Machi Machi (not around here) but this place takes the cake for best crème brûlée milk tea. The inside is really cute and creatively themed. Some tables to sit and hangout as well. Bathroom is SO CLEAN. Loved it. Service was also really good and nice! They were giving away free disposable kitchen gloves today and tickets for potential to go to World Cup but ours only had free topping and BOGO drinks which was still a nice surprise. Would def come back again to try their other drinks. Parking in the plaza was not bad on a Sunday afternoon and had a good amount of spots.

Decided to check out this Vietnamese-inspired, space-themed coffee and tea shop, as the futuristic decor and creative menu caught my eye. The shop had a cool, modern atmosphere and did not feel gimmicky at all. My partner and I shared 2 drinks: Oreo Eclipse Matcha Brûlée (matcha-infused custard topped with caramelized sugar and served with crunchy oreo pieces) and Crimson Dragon (red dragonfruit green tea). Even with 30% sugar, both of these drinks were way too sweet. And with less ice, the drinks still contained a lot of ice. Taste-wise, the drinks were only tolerable. Although the parking lot here seems decently sized, this plaza's shared lot is notorious for feeling tight and cramped, especially on weekends. Seating inside the store is also pretty limited, with just a few small tables.

When I went a few nights ago, I had a few drinks. The tiramisu brulee milk tea was SUPER sweet, and I got it with brown sugar boba which tasted a bit old, mushy, the flavors didn't mix well. I also tried the house black milk tea with brown sugar boba, it was just a regular milk tea, nothing too special. Very cool interior! I'm going to have to come back to try the coffee

The store is pretty cute, space theme. Interior certainly makes you feel like your in a shop that's based in space. Decorations are quite visible and very much a good background for your pictures. There's two self ordering kiosks which is great to avoid wait times. Seem like a solid spot for people to hangout at as there's some tables/seats on the left. Other than that, just standing space. I was decently happy about my matcha Oreo brulee. However, I wasn't expecting the cup to be this small compared to my partner's drink. On top of that, the drink didn't look fully filled as it was topped with tons of ice even though my order had the ice less option. A bit disappointed on that end although the taste of the drink was pretty delicious. A great mix of brulee, Oreo flakes and matcha was a unique taste that's not too common in most shops. It's either one or the other but this had both. Highly recommend this drink, can see why it's one of the most popular drinks. Parking here however is a bit of a nightmare especially during peak hours. Although it's a sizeable lot, finding parking is a struggle which the amount of congestion around. Drinks came out pretty quick which was a nice plus. Would come back to try other options as their menu is quite extensive.

Astra Bean is a modern boba tea shop with some cool space-themed decor. This spot is located in a plaza with a decent amount of parking spots, but things can get tight depending on the day and time you come. Inside, they have about 3-4 tables for seating. For their menu, they have a nice selection of different matcha, fruit tea, and coffee drinks to choose from. I got the Manderine Acerola and wifey got the Matcha Jasmine Oolong. We both enjoyed the flavor profile of our drinks. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely check this spot out for your next boba run in OC!

This place is so different from regular boba shops it is definitely out of this world "wink wink" The jelly they make is so good I tried jasmine jelly with my jasmine oolong. They also use organic lactose free milk that is delicious in a drink. We also tried strawberry cheese drink and peach hibiscus and they were all pretty and yummy.

I've passed by this boba shop and seen posts on social media about this spot for a few months now, but I didn't get the space theme so I never stopped in. They are currently running a BOGO deal and I was in the shopping plaza & luckily found a parking spot. I told the cashier it was my 1st time and she was very helpful, even offered some samples of their milk teas. I ended up getting: 1. Matcha Jasmine Milk Tea 2. Dragonfruit Tea Both were refreshing & not too sweet. The cups & bag were also high quality. I'm glad I stopped in and definitely plan to come back again (if I can find a parking spot)

The drinks were pretty good. The packaging is cute and they use high quality bags for to-go. But behold my surprise when I took the drinks out of the bag and found that they didn't even fill the cups all the way. The drinks are priced okay but companies should always fill the drink cups to the rim. Parking in this plaza is pretty terrible. It's always been busy when I've come and all the stalls feel like they're meant for compact cars (I drive a small SUV).

Cute concept for a boba shop and I do love themed dining all sorts. I'm not sure exactly what inspired the space theme but I found it thoroughly entertaining. I got the coconut Vietnamese coffee and and man, was I wide awake the whole afternoon. I was a little bummed when the coffee didn't fill up the cup. I'm not sure if this is typical but there's just something about getting a partially empty cup of coffee that doesn't feel right. Parking is a bit rough in this complex. There's just way too many businesses and not enough spots and all of them are super small.

The shop is so cute and right now they're doing a promotion scratch card! I got the Oreo matcha brulee which was a 3.5/5 since I should have gotten 100% sweetness because I like it sweet. My friend got the Durian Avocado smoothie which was a 4/5 for her because she likes the strong durian taste!

Astra Bean is a cute shop located in a strip mall with ample parking. I went pretty late at night though so the parking lot was fairly empty. The inside is decorated really nicely and themed around outer space. You can order at the kiosk they have in the front or also place an order for pickup. They were pretty quick to make our drinks and they all turned out pretty good. I would definitely consider this as an option again. Staff: 5/5 Sanitation: 5/5 Acerola Dragon Fruit (4/5) The acerola drinkn was interesting. There were bits of what seemed like kumquat or maybe lemon rinds in it that I wasn't expecting but didn't hate. It tasted really fruity but I wouldn't say I could taste the dragonfruit in the drink. Matcha Jasmine Oolong (5/5) This drink was really good. The matcha was light but you could still taste it through the Oolong tea. I think the tea in this drink was well brewed. I would definitely order this again.

Came for some late night boba and the Durian Avocado drink caught my eye. As a Vietnamese person, these are my favorite flavors. However, the drink was not good at all. The aftertaste was really bad, tasted like throw up. I'm disappointed because I assumed this was Viet owned considering the location, therefore, I believed the quality of this drink should've been better. Will not come again.

I like their jasmine milk tea with matcha foam, but it has to be 50% sweet, or else it is extremely sweet. One time, I had to add extra ice when I got home because I forgot to tell them to adjust the sweetness. read more

first time i tried out astra bean with my friends, i tried one of their matcha drinks and it was pretty decent. second time i came back and tried this fresh avocado coconut drink and it was sooo good! you would think it's blended like most asian avocado smoothies are, but this one was iced surprisingly and it's almost like drinking silky, creamy avocado with hints of coconut. absolutely loved it and came back a third time just for this drink! the space is rather small, however they have small tables and some chairs for customers to hangout inside. service has always been nice and fast, but i always ordered through their kiosks. read more

Went for free promo! Cute decor! Clearly a lot of effort was put into the interior design! Played space theme songs! 9/10 Got the Oreo brûlée matcha less ice less salted foam The sweetness couldn't be adjusted but actually glad it was perfect sweetness for me as a normally 30- 50% sweet preference person at other places! Tried the jasmine oolong milk tea and it was really good floral, smooth, and perfectly sweet. I got it with the oolong chewy topping, which I thought would be like regular boba, but it had more of an agar texture and a weird oolong leaf taste. Next time, I'll stick with the classic boba. The inside is clean, small, and a few seats inside the boba shop. Ordering is easy with the self-serve kiosk, but not all drinks are listed, so I recommend ordering with the cashier. Parking is easy at night but can get hectic during the day since the plaza is small and busy with restaurants. Looking forward to coming back and trying more drinks! read more

Immediately entering the building the staff greeted us with a smile and a friendly "hello." The drinks came out really fast. We ordered the Matcha Jasmine and the Egg coffee. I've never had Jasmine Matcha, but now, it'll be my new thing forever! It's so different, delicious, creamy, and perfectly blended! The boba was soft and chewy and I just love the Jasmine floral notes. I've had Egg coffee from Airoma and it's the best and my fav, but Astra... dare I say.... compares! They gave us 1/3 cup with no ice. We've ordered no ice a few times before, and the matcha used to fill about half the cup. Today, it's only about one-third. If you see other people's cups look full, it's because they fill the rest with ice. We've ordered drinks with no ice at other matcha/boba shops, and it's never been just one-third of the cup like at Astra Bean. read more

Great drinks, cute decor, good service, and okay $$ (average for OC lol)! I got four different drinks: two lattes and two milk teas. I got majority matcha drinks, all of which have pretty good quality matcha-- not too strong (coming from an avid matcha drinker ). Line was long, prob because I got there like an hour or so before it closed and it was the last day for BOGO, but it wasn't that long of a wait. Service was patient and very nice they ran out of certain things, so we did have to wait for an extra few minutes, but I think it was pretty worth it! They were quite apologetic, too, lol The decoration and space theme was cute, along with their seats and tables! Overall, a comfy wait for drinks, and not that long for a store with only a few employees at the front and a LONG line. All of the drinks were great and either what I expected or better! I recommend to get what you know you like already, because they will probably make it pretty good! I do recommend to go to this place at least once! Very nice to go with people and chill. My new favorite coffee and tea shop! The decor - SOOOOO CUTE and love the details like stars in the ceiling and tiny astronaut hanging with moon textures throughout. The drinks I've tried - coconut coffee, acerola cherry with hibiscus jelly and jasmine oolong with oolong jelly. ALL three were fragrant and not too sweet. Coffee was strong af. The jelly texture is dense and addictive. All were around $6-$7 and they have a promotion you get any coffee for FREE! Parking is in a busy plaza with lots of other businesses so be careful about that Only disappointing thing is they are out or stopped offering certain toppings, foams or flavors on their menu. They need to update it. read more

We stopped by during their soft opening and the inside did not disappoint! All the decoration and the entire aesthetic of Astra was incredibly beautiful and on par with their concept. The staff is also incredible being super energetic, helpful, and friendly. They gave us recommendations and hooked us up with their soft opening deal! The four stars come from the drinks. The egg coffee was pretty good! It is definitely on the sweeter end of a coffee so if that's your style I would definitely recommend a visit. The matcha with salted cream, although the flavor was there, my drink came out still with large chunks of unmixed matcha. Definitely on the milkier and grainier side which is a little disappointing.. Other than the drinks, the rest of my experience at Astra Bean was nothing but amazing! read more

Went early morning with my friend. This plaza is typically super busy, but it seems super free while we're here around 10AM. The ambience is calm, and the inner decor is pretty novel with the space/astronaut design. The ceiling had star light built in, and there are rock decorations along the wall reminiscent of the texture of space rocks and the moon. I got myself a mandarin acerola with hibiscus jelly and the matcha foam oolong latte, and they both were solid. The mandarin was definitely refreshing, and the jelly definitely contained that hibiscus flavor. I'm a huge fan of the matcha foam though. It's rich and full bodied, and I'm happy that there is depth in its taste :) read more

If you are looking for a late night boba spot, this may be the spot for you. The theme of this boba shop is Space, and it's very well decorated with plenty of seating to chat with friends. You can order on two self-checkout tablets or with the worker. The worker was very friendly and helpful. Today, I ordered the Peach Hibiscus drink with boba. The boba was decent, but can be more QQ. I ordered the drink with no adjustments, normal sugar and normal ice. The drink was on the sweeter side, but very refreshing. Don't forget to check the bottom of the drink because there was an actual piece of peach. Will be back to try their other drinks on the menu. read more

Discovered the cutest little drink spot and had to try their egg coffee -- it did not disappoint! The egg foam was rich, creamy, and clearly made from real eggs -- you can taste the difference. Perfect balance of bold coffee and smooth sweetness. Definitely a must-try if you're into unique drinks or Vietnamese-style coffee! read more

New coffee shop alert! I pleasantly surprised by the quick service and the cool space-themed interior. There's also lot of free parking in the front since it's in a small plaza with a public parking lot. I got the Oreo Matcha Brulee, which is perfect if you have a sweet tooth like me! It tasted like dessert in a cup with the oreo crumbles and the custard filling decorated on the side! Solid 8/10 in my book! The only downside is the limited seating. Definitely more of a grab and go place to get your drinks. read more

Both drinks we got were great! I liked how fragrant the teas are and the matcha didn't taste grainy or earthy. Cup portion is also large which I always appreciate. Location is convenient with lots of parking and close to other popular restaurants and shops. They're new in town so come and try them for yourself:) read more

I ordered 3 drinks and I am incredibly disappointed in the quality today. Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea: 1/5 The tea flavor was not strong today and tasted very bland. I usually get this drink, and was very excited since the floral notes of this drink is amazing, but today the tea flavor was not there. Jasmine Oolong: 4/5 This drink was great! No complaints since I did taste the jasmine flavor and the matcha mixed well with the drink. Coconut Coffee: 2/5 It just tasted like coconut creamer. And the cup was not filled all the way. Very disappointing. Maybe the staff was having a bad day because this place usually has high tea quality. Hopefully the next time, my drinks will be good. read more

I had such a great experience here yesterday that I just had to leave a review !! The staff were super welcoming when I walked in yesterday. The cashier was incredibly friendly and helpful as she patiently walked me through the menu and recommended me drinks catered to my preferences!! She recommended me the Strawberry Cheese which was delicious and im definitely going to come back to try their King Durian Avocado and Egg Coffee next time. The service was fast and thoughtful when I went, which made the experience feel very genuine. Definitely love the space theme of the cafe and the decorations were very cute! Overall, I enjoyed coming here and I'll definitely be returning soon and recommending this place to others! read more

Forgot to snap a photo but I got the matcha Jasmine oolong milk tea with the jelly. The oolong and Jasmine was very fragrant and not diluted. Love that the matcha was thick, almost the same consistency as creamy avocado, so it just layered nicely on top of the drink. I came for the BOGO deal but would definitely come back to try other drinks. read more

Very out of this world kinda place, it's spaced theme which is unique! I like the theming, even the ceiling is like outer space with stars. For the matcha jasmine oolong tea, it is the milk tea with matcha foam and mixed together you taste mostly the tea and light matcha. I asked for honey boba and oolong chewy, which when you sip initially, it's like there's nothing at the bottom so I think they floated lol but after you drink more then you get it with each sip. Oolong chewy? more like oolong jelly, I thought it was gonna be like honey boba but oolong flavor. It is crystal boba. Also was nice they allowed add ins for the free drink:) Durian egg coffee tasted like the name, egg foam with durian flavor and viet coffee on the bottom. It kind of tasted salty to me but maybe it's cause I had salted cheese foam before that lol? I stumbled upon this new coffee shop and decided to give it a try since they had a buy one, get one free deal, definitely a nice incentive to check them out. Unfortunately, my first impression wasn't great. The inside of the shop was really hot and stuffy, with no AC or proper ventilation. It made sitting inside uncomfortable, especially in this summer heat. The wait time was also long . I waited 30 minutes for two cups of coffee, and the number system was all over the place. I saw customers with higher numbers get called before mine, which was confusing and frustrating. When I finally got my drinks, the coffee itself was disappointing. The flavor was weak, bland, and watery. Also, the ice cubes were oversized, which watered down the drink even more. I'd recommend they switch to smaller ice for better consistency. That said, I know they're new, and every business has growing pains. I think with better organization, improved recipes, and a comfortable environment, they could become a solid spot in the future. read more

I found this place through multiple social media apps! It hasn't "officially" opened (they have their grand opening on July 4th). Tomorrow, July 4th they are giving out free drinks to any kids under 22 years old! Yes, one free drink for every child (no need for a purchase). Adults aren't left out as they are also offering a BOGO deal on ALL drinks. This new establishment offers a variety of handcrafted drinks from Vietnamese coffee to matcha drinks! We ordered the King Durian Avocado, Strawberry Bubblegum, the Matcha Oreo Brûlée, and the Caramel Brûlée Iced Milk. Out of all of these drinks the Caramel Brûlée Iced Milk was my favorite. This drink had a thick, salty cream and it was slightly burnt on the top, giving the cream a smoky flavor. Also, the furniture looked really nice, futuristic, and modern. Instead of a smooth, caramel-roasted flavor, the coffee had an overwhelmingly charred bitterness -- almost as if the beans were burnt. Even with only one other customer ahead of me, it took about 15 minutes to get two drinks, which felt unnecessarily long. While the space-themed decor is visually appealing, the quality of the coffee didn't live up to the aesthetics. I was able to try the Banana Latte and the Matcha Jasmine Oolong Latte. My brother got the Egg Coffee and the Durian Coffee. -The banana cream was really yummy - the banana flavor did not taste artificial at all, which made me happy. -The jasmine oolong base was quite refreshing, though the matcha cream is more on the sweeter side. -The egg cream on the coffee was smooth and delicious, and it is a solid drink for anyone who likes coffee. -The durian cream was not too overpowering, and I recommend it to durian-lovers. The interior is really consistent with the space theme and it looks great! A decent amount of seating and there are outlets spaced around the store. The king durian avocado drink was pretty good, the durian layer was really authentic durian. The avocado is blended and was a little thick, but overall the drink is a 8.5/10 for me. My friend got the Acerola Dragon Fruit and that one had more muted taste and she got full sweet (she rated it a 3/10). She asked for more sugar and they were very gracious when fixing it. Astra Bean is hands down one of the best boba spots I've been to! The drinks are perfectly balanced--not too sweet, with just the right amount of flavor. Their boba is always fresh, chewy, and delicious. The menu has a great variety, and every drink I've tried so far has been amazing. Great service and such a cute place! I got the matcha with salted cheese cream on top. I really liked the cream which was rich and flavorful. The matcha itself was good too. When you mix the cream in, my friend said it just tasted like milk, but personally, I thought it was well-balance not too sweet, not too bland. I would have love to come here and study because it has such a nice atmosphere but there aren't no tables. read more

This boba shop is so good! Stopped by this little gem today and was pleasantly surprised. The Jasmine Oolong Matcha was on point. You could tell the matcha was high quality.
