This little house has been so many things. It has recently turned into a coffee cafe. I hope it stays this way forever. Great location. Great friendly service. Sweet and wonderfully decorated. Love the inside seating areas. Great selection of drinks. Both my husband and I love the Matcha Latte. Perfectly blended flavors and their homemade vanilla syrup. I'm wild about homemade syrups. They have a fun list of signature Lattes. Hung Jury, The Bail Out, The Lawsuit, and Double Jeopardy. All worth trying. And if that isn't enough they have awesome seasonal drinks too.. Get them while they last. They have a beautiful selection of locally made sweet treats. From cake pops, muffins, scones, mini pies and the list just keeps going. Talk about being happy to support local businesses. My husband said there is too much to choose from. And he says this because he wants one of everything. Everything has been great. We love going for lunch, The wraps are my favorite. Can't decide what my favorite is because all of them are fresh and delicious. Last time my husband got the BLT and I got the Chicken Caesar. We split them so we could try 2 different wraps. They also have bagels with toppings, Salads and Overnight Oats. I have not tried these yet but I'm working my way through the menu. So this is my updated review... last time I was not understanding why Astraea would close 18 minutes before their posted closing time. I was disappointed because I drive a long way... Today I have returned and my experience was so much better and possibly what could have been the first time around! It's a cute inviting place. You see the sign at the corner with our flag proudly waving in the wind (they give discounts to military, veterans). Lots of picnic benches and tables outside. A huge welcome sign standing by the door. When you enter there are so many corners that are so interesting and quaint. There's a corner that they have candles and another where they have earrings for sale and next to ordering line is a display of necklaces and beverage sleeves for sale. There's a long line but there's enough to see while you're standing in line. The beautiful view to the outside from lots of windows gives an airy feel. I ordered a lot of things since it's quite a trek for me. Ordered their sausage and kale quiche, bail out coffee (caramel brown sugar), cookies and cream pocket pie, big fudge pocket pie, blueberry scone,bacon cinnamon roll (whaaaat!). I've been wanting to come here for a while and we finally made it out today. The location is very cute and quaint, but also, not what I was expecting. Parking is behind the building and we came pretty early so we had no issues finding a spot. Though I could see parking being a challenge later in the day. The staff are all incredibly nice. For a coffee place, I expect bare minimum talking, grumpy people, but they were very personable and patient here. I got the seasonal hot holiday cookie latte and my husband got a hot bail out. We did have to add some Splenda to both drinks, but once we did, they were both fairly pleasant. Very rich on its own, but also nice and velvety. I also got a pocket pie, I am drawing a blank on the name of what kind, but it was really nice. The IG: Schneiderpocketpies is the creator of the pocket pies, and has the picture listed. I'm 99% sure the girl told me it was something else, not pumpkin, but I'm not sure. Either way, my husband and I ate it all. The donut was okay, not bad but nothing to write home about. I love visiting Astraea! There is a certain charm about the area around the end of Holland Road, and along Princess Anne. The coffeeshop is built out of an old house, and as soon as you enter the door you feel that charm. I always take family here for a cup in the morning when they visit. They have SUPER YUMMY coffee and food options. They always *pack* their bagels with toppings, their overnight oats are the perfect healthy breakfast (they're delicious), their wraps are great and super yummy too. I think this place has the cutest location! Great for hanging out and reading a book outside, meeting a friend, or taking the kids out. I probably wouldn't do remote work here often. It's fun to explore the way they've renovated the house for the coffee shop. The staff have been really nice. They have a variety of things to eat such as loaded bagels, baked goods, and overnight oats. I got the quiche option today which included butternut squash and sausage -- it was pretty good. They have smoothies and of course, an array of coffee and tea based options. I wouldn't consider this the place to go if you're looking for specialty coffee/roasting. This place is adorable! it's an old farmhouse and the rooms are seating areas! The staff is so nice and friendly. The coffee was delicious, there were 5 of us and we all loved our coffee. What a hidden gem! This coffee shop is nestled right behind the VB court house, on a quiet spacious lot. The converted farmhouse coffee shop has totally been utilized for maximum usage. There are plenty of places to hang out here-whether you want to study with a friend, grab lunch with your whole family, or hide away with a book in the nook upstairs! (Hey, that rhymed) There are picnic tables outside, a gazebo with picturesque boho swings, a decked out front porch, a few rooms inside with seating, and a nook upstairs as I mentioned-this nook being my favorite part of the whole place(it had a bookshelf full of books, comfy couches, even toys for the kiddos!). I thought it was cute that all of the menu items have cheeky courthouse inspired names. I ordered the "Bail Out" latte and it was ready super fast! The ladies working were so friendly as well and we chatted about the Coastal Coffee Trail which is what brought me out in the first place. Why have I never been here before?! This is the CUTEST little coffee shop! I'm so thankful the Coastal Coffee Trail led me here! I will 100% be back! I ordered the lavender and white chocolate latte (I think it was called the lawful?) and it was good! I could've used more sugar or milk, but that's because I'm more of a tea girl than coffee girl. I also got an everything bagel with cream cheese (it also had a name to do with being a lawyer...) and it was good. It has a TON of cream cheese, so I had to scrape a bit off. This is such a fun coffee shop! The coastal coffee trail brought me there, but their theme will keep bringing me back! It's very close to the courthouse in VB which is why they have a law theme for their food and drinks! I loved that because I work for the Trial Department on the Norfolk Naval base! I used GPS to find it and appreciate the signs with arrows directing you to the parking. They have a small lot, but their service is quick so you are in and out. However, they have plenty of seating areas inside and outside for you to relax while the caffeine flows through you! If you are like me and try finding all the LOVE signs in VA then you are in luck!! They have a very cute one right outside to take pictures with. I got the Double Jeopardy iced latte and the Lawful bagel!! They also have seasonal drinks which I will be back for! I've been coming here since this place first opened, I'm still not sure why it took me so long to review it! I have had nothing but absolutely amazing service with a smile every single time I come in. The coffee is delicious and fresh every time! I've had the bail out, the hung jury, some smoothies and some treats, it has all been delicious! This place is big enough for groups and there's so much seating inside and out. Couches, tables and chairs, hammock seats, you name it! There's a kid's play area upstairs and books as well! I highly recommend stopping here for either a quick coffee or to relax for awhile! The cafe is cute, but the customer service isn't great. I came here when I had a quick break from class and ordered a hot matcha latte w/almond milk - that's it. It got busy after I ordered and I watched everyone in my party get their drinks, people who ordered after me get their drinks, and I sat there ignored for about 15 minutes. I stood up and that's when I saw my drink finally being prepared. No apology, no acknowledgement of the length of time I had to wait, nothing. The latte was lukewarm and didn't taste the best. Their coffee + food is named after all things "law". Super cute. When passing by, it's shop is in the building of a home. The parking is right past the house around the back. Along with the inside seating, they have plenty of benches right outside, along with other chairs, and a lawn big enough if wanting to bring along the kids or pets. I ordered "The Bail Out" which was the brown sugar + caramel iced latte. With all the iced lattes, you can choose to get it hot. And if you don't like the set flavors they have, they have additional syrups, allowing you to customize to your liking. You're also welcomed by a display case of goodies (donuts, pastries, etc) along with their own merch (shirts, mugs, etc.). They also offer military discount. Their coffee was very pleasant. Compared to some other local coffee shops, it's hard to find a place where they have the perfect balance between the flavoring and keeping the actually taste of the coffee - but this coffee met both my expectations. It wasn't overly sweet, and with every sip I could taste the espresso without getting lost in the syrup/milk it accompanied. The cinnamon roll was soft and warm - all that you ask for in a cinnamon roll. You have the option to either eat it as it is or have it warmed up. Pretty nice quiet atmosphere, where you can have a conversation without it being too loud. Their wrap was pretty hefty and delicious! I came in for a birthday breakfast for champions and got a actually wonderful chai latte but the bagel..boy was that thing heavy. I thought oh maybe she is just a nice dense bagel, wrong she is cream cheese with a side of bagel.
