After a recent event I attended at Astraea I checked them out again. Ordered the Trial by Jury iced and an avocado toast to go. Service was friendly and the staff recognized me. Everything tasted great again and thrilled to update and upgrade this marvelous local coffee shop.

Two little birdies told me that if you haven't tried Astrea Coffee Cafe, i was missing out! They had Amazing food, delightful desserts, and handcrafted drinks. I loved this house turned into cafe. There is plenty of seating around the main house, upstairs, downstairs, and even more seating in their back barn. I love the atmosphere of the cafe and every one from the staff to the customers were all chill. What I had: Iced Hot Double Jeopardy - 4/5 Hot Irish Cream & Hazelnut Latte - 5/5 BLT Wrap - 5/5 Turkey Pesto Sandwich - 4/5 Orange Cranberry Scone - 4/5 Blueberry Muffins 4/5

The vibe in this coffee shop is fabulous! I love that Astrea is divided up into several different areas so you can sit and work inside, or enjoy their outdoor area (which is massive!). The drink I chose was trial by jury iced coffee. I appreciate that the cinnamon flavor was not overpowering, and it was lovely to sip on as I sat outside and worked on the front porch area. They had lots of pastry items on the menu, I would definitely like to try something fabulous the next time I go! The staff seemed joyful, and my drink was out extremely fast!

What a really cute gem to find after hitting the VB courthouse for officiating a wedding. The LOVE sign outside is adorable. The front porch with a swing and outdoor games (corn hole) is too cute. There were people filling every spot on my random Monday morning trek. The young women working were lovely! I told the front server that it was my first visit and she was super welcoming. I got the lavender latte, hot and a lox bagel, which was the best bagel I've had maybe ever. I was bummed not to have a mug to sit and stay with my latte but I didn't tell her my preference and she didn't ask, but likely assumed bc I was alone(?). My only qualm was the parking was full so I had to walk a bit but then I found a lovely path to a park and an old house. Like do I even know my city (definitely not these parts!). Oh oh oh. And the decor was adorable!!!!! Like very niche to justice and liberty, etc etc. So on the nose for being by the courthouse. Loved it.

Really great experience! The brownie was delicious, perfect texture and flavor. I also tried an iced coffee with lavender. It had a smooth taste with a light floral note. Not too sweet and not too bitter. The space is super cozy with plenty of seating, including indoor and outdoor areas. The customer service was excellent, everyone was very kind. Definitely a place I'd come back to!

The place is cozy and nice. I ordered a cafe latte and a peanut butter scone. Coffee was okay. The scone had a banana flavor for some reason it felt very artificial and very off putting, not a great scone . They had limited parking. The service was quick and people working were friendly. The had some good breakfast options too.

This cute local coffee shop is perfect to start your morning!! It is my first time in Virginia and I am SO glad we stopped here!! This coffee shop had a decent line but the drinks came out quickly and absolutely delicious!! I wish I lived over here so I could stroll in any day of the week and grab a fresh cup of coffee here to start my day :) There were plenty of spaces to sit and enjoy your coffee, both inside and outside. I think it would also be a great place to do homework and study or work. I highly recommend this coffee shop if you want to enjoy a great cup of coffee!!

Was decently busy inside but the ordering processes was quick. Got the signature latte double jeopardy. The coffee taste was good and the flavoring wasn't my favorite but was great for the price. Not pictured but my sister got the croissant muffin and she enjoyed it. Loved the interior layout of the house!

I recently stopped by and decided to try their Butterbeer Latte, and it did not disappoint. The combination of brown sugar, vanilla, and the deliciously creamy cold foam was perfection. I opted for almond milk instead of whole, and the drink was still rich and flavorful! A little sweet, but doable. The interior of Astraea is bright, clean, and perfect for getting work done. I brought my laptop and ended up staying for a few hours. The atmosphere is incredibly remote work-friendly, with plenty of seating and outlets. Plus, their playlist was a total vibe--just the right mix of upbeat and chill to keep me focused. I also have to shout out the staff, who were super helpful and patient as I tried to decide what to order. I'm pretty indecisive, but they helped me through the menu with a smile and made me feel welcome Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee or settling in to get some work done, I highly recommend.

I love me some coffee. In all ways. I will take it how I can get it and when I travel, I always look for a cute coffee shop to try. Astraea Coffee isn't new - it's been a place I've been dying to try for a while but just haven't been able to sneak over for one reason or another. I like the location because I like the Princess Anne Courthouse area of town. I liked it even more when Their parking lot is small and I must've shown up during a really busy lunch rush bc there was absolutely no parking and their lot is small so I had to back out at an angle... but, it's right beside a local park with tons of parking and you can easily park and walk over, which is what I did so crisis averted, I'm back on track! Inside is cute with various rooms and mismatched furniture. I was really impressed with the menu with loads of wraps and salads and smoothies as well as breakfast foods and an açaí bowl and such. Large menu. In the end, I went with a chicken Ceasar wrap and iced oat milk latte. The latte was really really good. The wrap was out very quickly and a huge portion size. The gals working behind the counter was also super nice. I plan to come back when it's warmer and enjoy a walk around the park and lunch. Great first experience.

Mini donuts. Bagels. Pastries. Coffee that's perfectly crafted all tucked in the tiniest little cottage. Absolutely so cozy & a perfect place to feel like you're having coffee with a friend at your dining room table. All unique chairs and tables to gab. Parking is behind the building & a tight squeeze but worth the shimmy to get in! Prices that of Starbucks.

The best coffee and atmosphere in Virginia Beach.. might actually be competing with Three Ships here

New favorite! Went when they had an antique pop up a few weekends ago & have been back at least once a week since. I've tried the salted caramel added white mocha & the bail out both with almond milk. I was pleasantly surprised how perfect the bail out was as is - I didn't have to add any extra sweetener (I like my coffee pretty sweet) this was mild & delicious! This spot is so cute & cozy. Plenty of space. I love the upstairs back room. Plan to have this as my friday treat (:

I stopped by during their pop up at Farmhouse Brewery and, once again, they did not disappoint. One thing you need to know: their burritos are massive. We're talking "the size of your head" big, so come hungry or be ready for some epic leftovers. The menu is small and focused (usually around four burrito choices), but every single one is packed with quality ingredients and flavor. The Coop spends most days serving on base, but keep an eye out for their local pop-ups. They're always worth chasing down. This time around, I ordered the Pepper Jack Chicken Burrito which was grilled chicken breast, maple bacon, melty pepper jack cheese, and their signature Coop Sauce, all bundled up in a warm tortilla. Every bite was the perfect balance of hearty, savory, spicy, and just a hint sweet from the bacon. Their Coop sauce is one of a kind. Tangy, and delicious. I'm sure adding an egg would take it to the next level (that's an option on all burritos). My friends had the Breakfast Burrito! This one comes with fluffy scrambled eggs, sharp cheddar cheese, juicy sausage, more of that craveable maple bacon, herby potatoes, and (of course) the signature Coop Sauce. They raved about every bite. I appreciate that The Coop keeps things simple with their streamlined menu and focus on top-notch burritos. Whenever I see them around town, I make it a point to stop ... even if there's a line, it moves fast and is absolutely worth the wait. Whether you're looking for a new lunch favorite or just crave seriously great street food, The Coop is a true gem on the Virginia Beach food truck scene. We both ordered the Bacon, Egg and Cheese on Croissant. First off, the drinks. The Blueberry Muffin Latte delivered exactly what it promised. It was creamy espresso with a hint of blueberry and a subtle muffin like sweetness. It wasn't overly sugary, and the blueberry didn't taste artificial. She aid it felt like a comforting hug in a mug. The Coconut Cream Cold Brew was fantastic. The cold brew had a nice boldness but wasn't bitter, and the coconut flavor was smooth and not overpowering. The cream added just the right amount of richness, making every sip refreshing and indulgent. If you like cold coffee drinks, this one's worth a try! Both of us ordered the Bacon, Egg and Cheese on Croissant, which came out perfect! I had my egg over medium, hers was overy easy. The croissant was perfectly buttery and crispy, and the bacon was thick-cut and flavorful. The eggs were fluffy, and the cheese melted just right. It was hearty enough for breakfast or brunch and paired so well with our drinks. They have a case filled with delicious looking pastries, which I must try next time. Service was friendly and quick, and the café itself had a relaxed vibe that made us want to linger. The vibe of it kind of reminded me of the rainforest cafe haha! We'll definitely be back.

Plant Bingo at Sage Kitchen was a fun evening overall. Check-in was smooth, and the staff did a…read moregreat job explaining how the game worked and what to expect before everything got started. The game itself was lively, well-paced, and everyone seemed to have a great time. The patio where the event was held is beautiful, and it was spacious enough for the crowd. The only downside to the seating was that some guests ended up behind a wall where they could hear the caller but couldn't actually see her or the plants being awarded. One suggestion that I think would make the event even better is the prize structure. When there are ties, the winners have to play rock-paper-scissors to determine who gets the plant. While that's part of the fun, I felt bad for the people who won their bingo card but ultimately went home with a donated T-shirt, soil, or plant food instead of a plant. Even a small, inexpensive plant for the runner-up would make the experience feel more rewarding, especially since the event is centered around plants. The food and service were a bit of a mixed experience. I ordered the California Club with sweet potato fries, and it was delicious. However, the menu was more limited than expected, and we were told some of the regular menu items (including the tacos!) weren't available during the event. Our server was genuinely pleasant and did the best she could, but she appeared to be covering more tables than one person reasonably should. Service was slow, and we had to remind her about our drinks after our food had already arrived. It felt more like a staffing issue than a service issue. One thing I didn't care for was the payment process. We were only brought a credit card slip with the total to add a tip and sign after our card had already been charged. We had to specifically ask for an itemized receipt to review the charges. I would have preferred the opportunity to see the bill before my card was run or at least have the option to use a different payment method. The event advertising was also a little misleading. The description said, "Join us for 20 rounds of bingo, raffle entries, plant prizes, tacos & drinks!" Based on that wording, it certainly sounded like tacos and non-alcoholic beverages were included with the ticket price. Instead, everything had to be purchased separately, and we were told the tacos (which are on the regular restaurant menu) weren't even available during the event due to the limited event menu. Clarifying that food and drinks are available for purchase would help set better expectations. Despite those issues, we genuinely enjoyed ourselves. I was fortunate enough to win one of the plants, and it's beautiful. My suggestions are simply things I think would make an already fun event even better for everyone. The energy of Plant Bingo, the beautiful patio, the organized check-in, and the friendly atmosphere made for an enjoyable evening, and with a few improvements to the prize distribution, staffing, payment process, and event advertising, it could easily become an even better experience.

I recently attended plant bingo hosted at Sage Kitchen located inside the Anderson garden Center…read more  I was promptly greeted and directed to the check-in table. The check-in process was seamless; my group received our bingo cards and the flyer outlining the 20 game plays, and we appreciated the flexibility of the indoor and outdoor seating. The service was both friendly and efficient. We were required to start a tab; I was unsure if this is standard policy or specific to the event, but either way it worked out well. I ordered the Baja bowl: grilled chicken, black beans, corn, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and avocado served on cilantro-lime rice topped with tortilla strips and Aji Verde sauce. My bowl was delicious, fresh and portioned just right. The plant selections for the prizes were great, I actually won a Pothos Yellow Flame. I do have two suggestions: 1. Consider having extra plant prizes available for tie-breaking rounds instead of playing rock-paper-scissors. If you win you deserve a plant. 2. It would be helpful if guests were provided with a copy of their bill to verify for accuracy before their card is charged and the tab is closed. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the event. I look forward to returning to Sage Kitchen soon.
