Where do I begin... We had an activation issue with a new phone that ended up deactivating both my phone and my daughter's. We were completely dead in the water. We went to the AT&T store at Sequoia Station for help. When we walked in, there were 4-5 employees standing near the door talking. After an awkward silence, someone finally asked what was going on. Felt like we were interrupting them. I explained the situation, and without even looking at the phones, one employee immediately said, "It takes two days before anything can be done." No troubleshooting, no attempt to help, just a quick dismissal. As an IT manager, that response was extremely frustrating. We weren't expecting miracles, just effort and basic troubleshooting. None was offered. I would be embarrassed as to the support in that establishment as a manager As i could not believe it was that bad, we left and drove to the Belmont AT&T store, which we had used in the past, just a bit farther. The difference was night and day. A gentleman greeted us immediately, listened carefully, took all three phones and said, this is a simple fix. In less than 10 minutes, all phones were working again and my daughter's new phone was properly activated and ported with the correct number. That is what real customer service looks like. I will never return to the Sequoia Station location and have already told daughter same and pas to your friends to avoid it. If something truly can't be fixed, that's understandable, but this clearly could have been resolved with the right skills and willingness to help. read more

This store sucks because they never have enough people in here. I come and have to wait at least a 1/2 hour everytime. Today it's 45 minute so far. They try and be nice but know they're understaffed. I like the employees but the franchise needs more employees. Stop cheating out scummy franchise owners. Pay a living wage and good people will work for you! Update 60 minutes. Alan was super friendly and helpful and had us up and connected again immediately. Then he helped us out with set up and migration of our phones. This store will force you to buy a phone case and/or a screen protector for $50+ with a phone purchase. It's a total scam. We went to another store and this is not AT&T's standard policy. In addition to this, the representative was incredibly rude and snapped at my partner and I for asking her a question. She accused me "confusing her(my partner)" when in reality we were asking her a question because she couldn't give us a straight answer. I felt like the whole time she was trying to confuse us so we'd spend more money. We ended up leaving the store and going San Carlos where they were incredibly helpful and nice. I never write Yelp reviews, but after this experience I was forced to. Overall, a terrible experience. Skip Redwood City and go to San Carlos. read more

Monique was amazing! She helped both my mom and I trade in our iPhone 12s to iPhone 16. We had zero issues with this process and she even helped us transfer all of the data at the store. Thomas was AMAZING. I had a super old iphone (8) which apple couldn't even do anything about. He got me a new iphone and transferred everything, went out of his way to set everything up so it was completely seamless for me to use the new phone, including providing discounts on peripherals like the case. He set me up with the proper earphones and stuff I needed for the car. I didn't have to wait and I was done in less than an hour. I am super grateful, especially because when I tried to trade in another phone at the belmont store, they lied to me and I got stuck with a phone I hate and can't use and that cost a fortune. The Belmont store is awful and the people are really incompetent but the people at the Redwood City store have been unfailingly nice and super skilled and helpful . read more

Stopped in today to setup new iPhone. We were greeted as soon as we walked into the store. Nedia was our staff member and she was super helpful! She had our new iPhone updated and data transferred in a matter of minutes. Total time in store (including waiting on the phone to do its thing) was 26 minutes. Not sure why this location has poor reviews but it was certainly a good experience for our visit. I would recommend you visit them. read more

I went in to activate my phone and they were all busy with customers so I waited. One of them was done soon but, instead of approaching me she went and sat down and started reading a book. I went up to her, apparently she never saw me. Anyway, moving on; bad attitude, unfriendly and I was to find out 2 days later that she had changed my name on my iPhone service to a "Armando Bo...". I was getting text msgs saying I had used up all my unlimited data and account was deactivated. What a pain! So I visited the store a couple times more to correct this. I was really upset but regardless kept my cool and did not make a fuss or anything even though it locked me out of some of my accounts due to authentication issues. She completely denied doing it (who else?). Anyway, I returned that iPhone and went in to the store to buy another. Out of the four employees only one was with a customer, but they couldn't help me because the IPhone 15's were in a safe and the safe unlocks only at certain times. Instead of engaging with me, or even pretending to, they noticed my impatience (had been there for 1.5 hrs) and one of them told me that there were other stores I could go to and than ROBERT jumped in and asked me to leave the store. When I asked for the store managers name, Robert said I could call and find out. I couldn't get out fast enough! As I was getting in the car, he opened the door to the store and yelled across to never come back to the store! They don't have to worry about me going back or even staying with AT&T. Went in to return a phone cover that I purchased with a new phone and a lot of accessories about 3 wks ago. No return policy printed on the receipt. Worker checked with boss and said "it's a 14 day return policy." I asked to speak to manager. I asked where it was posted -(NOWHERE obvious and NOT on the receipt) It is in tiny writing on a desk where most people sit to do their order.....the day I was there it was so busy (2.5 hrs wasted) I never even got to sit at the desk to do my order I stood or sat on a stool across the room. Absolutely the worse customer.service.ever. The manager is great but the two individuals (Paul) and his colleague were totally unhelpful and Paul was the most useless individual on the face of the earth besides being rude with no customer service skills. Just today I spent aLmost 2 hours in the store. Between the two and on the phone with ATT customer service, my problem was not resolved. I went to the ATT Belmont Sore and my problem was resolved in less than 5 minutes. If needed, Matt at the Belmont Store resolved my issue. If I could give this location no stars I would. Made the drive to the store. The store employees literally sitting down and just staring. No hi or can I help you. I had to approach and initiate my question, which based off the ATT's return policy: head to a local store or go online to make a return. The guy literally said I can't help you. Didn't even try, said that my return would mess up their inventory account. I don't even know what that means. I said thanks, crickets from the employee and turned around and left. Just went to this store for a replacement phone because my husband took his phone for a swim. The service was fantastic! We were in and out in an hour. We witnessed a very bad scene caused by an unreasonable customer who kept trying to argue with the service provider. Then her husband got involved and they were yelling at the supervisor. He kept his calm and asked them to go to another store. Very volatile and rude customers!!! read more

My wife compares going to a cell phone store to going to the dentist. She hates it. I am not a fan either. Thomas and his staff at the Redwood City location are a pleasure to deal with. They took the time to ensure everything was done correctly. I also appreciate they weren't pushy or salesy about their accessories & care plan (their plan is great, but I prefer Applecare.) My recent visits began in late December to get a new phone for my oldest daughter. It was not easy, iPhones were out of stock everywhere. They help me coordinate and even call the local Apple store to check stock status. They did finally got one from another store to ship to them for us. Last month, I dropped my phone and figure I will just get a new one since it was not too painful when we shopped here before. Thomas was so attentive that he recommended a store with the lowest price to get my screen fix so that it get me maximum rebate for the trade-in. Without me asking, he called the repair place and went over details and timing with them for me. It was great, he even suggested a restaurant by the repair place while we wait for the repair. Unexpectedly, a few days ago, my younger daughter phone's mic broke. It is an old phone; since we had great experience before, I just figure we will buy another one from them. Three phones in 3 months. They are great, but I hope I don't need to visit with them for a while. I have been there numerous time recently. One thing - since they do take their time with clients, if there is a long line you may want to go get a Starbucks or Noah's Bagel and come back later. read more

If I could give this place a negative 5 review I would give it negative 7. I probably had the most unsatisfying experience at this store. I went in to see what they can do about my new phone that had an accidental damage but the att representative was so rude and now now willing to even give me suggestions on how resolve the issue, they don't know the meaning of customer service despite I've been a loyal customer for 14years, I was almost at the point of having them release my phone number and join another carrier because of lack of customer service. The store representative was condescending, gave me inaccurate information, insulted me, did not listen to the issue, and most importantly could not offer me any sort of solution or resolution. If you just have to buy the newest iphone, and need someone with no experience or knowledge to guide you through this process, then this is your location. My wife just came here to get the new iphone..luckily we knew what we were looking for before walking in the door. After being there a few minutes and talking with the clerk, it was seeming like his job was talking us out of buying a new phone, rather than trying to sell us on one. That ain't how sales works buddy! Furthermore - and this is our own fault - AT&T cell service sucks. We called to complain the other day, and they told us the closest tower was 3G. 3G??? A forced hello upon entering is fine but it went downhill from there for poor Joseph, the "customer service" rep at the RWC AT&T store. After demanding that I sign my name on the sign in sheet, I was ignored for over 30mins. That's fine, but odd. Joseph was being super attentive with his one customer and apparently unable to multitask. After being patient and quiet, I asked his trainee about my reasons for being in the store... and Joseph interrupted my story with saying he wasn't paying full attention to me (as he was staring a spinning pinwheel for the last 10 mins). Again, super odd as I was talking to the nice trainee. The nice trainee and I exchanged a look, he knew that was odd behavior and later told me he was embarrassed and wished he could help. Bored, i pulled a case out of the package to try it on my phone (I've brought home the wrong one before) and Joseph got a little control freaky and asked me to put it back in the box. I had every intention of purchasing it since it fit the phone. Now having his full attention? He wasn't a fan of his trainee pointing out that he was being rude and providing bad customer service. He reprimanded him saying he should have his back, we both disagreed. I reminded him that his job is based on providing good customer service and that there's and app for it, he had the nerve to say he was being threatened and asked me to leave before he had to call security. This is the most ghetto AT&T retailer I've ever been to. I went there last November to upgrade my iPhone. I walked in and had to practically beg for someone to actually wait on me, even though there were two service people on the floor, and only one was with another customer. The girl who finally did help me acted like I was bothering her, and seemed irritated that she actually had to do her job. I thought about leaving at that point, but my phone wasn't holding a battery charge and I was kind of desperate. I should have left. During the checkout process, I specifically asked the salesgirl about AppleCare. I keep my phones longer than a year, and I like to know that I have protection if they break. She assured me that I had one year of AppleCare that automatically came with the phone. I asked her if I could purchase more than one year, and she said "Yeah, you can do that at any time before your one year of AppleCare expires". I paid for my new phone, and she handed it to me without so much as a thank you or have a good evening, and went back to whatever she was doing before I "interrupted" her, totally ignoring the line of 3 new customers that had come into the store while she was assisting me. Imagine my surprise when I go to purchase AppleCare+ today, and I'm told that I'm not eligible because I purchased my phone more than 60 days ago. Now I have to just pray that nothing happens to my phone for another year after my one year of AppleCare expires. This place will never get my business, my family's business, or my friends' business ever again. read more

They were friendly enough when I came in with my broken phone and took my order for a replacement. A week later, it has not arrived and I've received no updates. I dropped in today to find out when I should expect it, and the guy unapologetically informs me that they don't do that. Remember that SNL skit with Lily Tomlin, "we don't care. We don't have to. 2 star makes... I bought a chip for a smart watch at a different location. I spent an hour on their customer service 611 line and they couldn't solve the issue of the internet not working. So I came to this location and the rep didn't want to help me fix the issue because she did not want to take sales credit away from the other location. So much for customer service. read more

I has horrible experience with their sales person Joseph. Went in to upgrade to a I phone 14, told him I didn't want to activate it now, he was a very strange guy with sunglasses with mirrors on them so you can't see his eyes. The worst customer service I have even experienced -no people skills at all, and he completely messed up my current phone.I upgraded while there to another plan, but he cancelled my phone service entirely! Didn't find out until I left and it took hours on ATT customer service to reactivate my phone. they said who ever did it at the ATT store messed it up. He did not have a clue what he was doing and was just rude and strange, something was wrong there... is the only way I can describe him. I will never go there again. This place is horrid, disorganized, and does not worth it. I arrived at 6.45 and a desire to spend $$$. I urgently needed a new phone. Somehow I imagined that a place that sells phones would have trained staff to do so. As I came in I noticed how very few phones they had on display. Three different songs were blasting from TV, and Ipads. The lighting was dim and harsh at the same time. IT felt as if someone designed this migraine inducing environment with the purpose of driving people into despair so they would give up and buy expensive phone to just get out of this place. As I came in and started looking around an elderly lady yelled, "The line starts here", I could not understand why she was doing it until I joined the line myself. This store has no line management tools. They do not have numbers or sign in times. Truly, considering how long the wait is to get help, they should give people beeper so they can be summoned form nearby coffee shop when someone is ready. Many people in line were their to pay their bill. Why this store does not have a dedicated terminal and a payment staff is not clear. I also observed a staff member just standing there with absent gaze moving Iphon box from one hand to another and playing with his giant gold chain until someone said, "Hello, help me" at which point this man reluctantly moved to assist the cranky old lady. I think they all work on commission. It was painful to watch another staff member badgering a couple into buying two phones they did not need,and a screen protectors with the promise of free Ipad mini. When the husband asked "Well, it is free but how much is the tax" the answer was, "I do not know, percentage of some sort" Finally my turn was coming up and I understood why the old lady was so cranky. The sales lady almost allowed someone ahead of me. Once I said "I need an Android" the enthusiasm of the sale lady evaporated. They only had one model from the manufacturer I wanted. It was about $300 more than I wanted to spend but I was ready just to pay and be over with this experience. Well, they did not ahve any in the backroom. They offered me to look at other, even more $$$$$ model but at this point I was fed up and I left for Best Buy where I bought an excellent phone from the maker I wanted and for the price I wanted. read more

This should be zero star review because I have zero level of satisfaction with this store, which I visited about noon on Friday July 27 2018 My phone had no wireless connection so I visited the Sequoia Station AT&T store to check on wireless signal strength. I was greeted by an employee who later refused to give his name. I asked him if there was trouble with the local signal and he said that the towers were down. I asked hum why. He told me to call "corporate". Then he said the problem had to do with the "eclipse" (total lunar eclipse due later that day). I told him that seemed impossible: the eclipse was not due for hours; and anyway would only be apparent at night in Europe and Asia. I pointed out that the demo phones all showed full bar signal strength. He said that the screens were photos. Since I was interested in a new phone I asked him about several on display. He said that they did not sell them - I would have to go to Best Buy. I asked why bother to show them, and he said that the models could not be removed because they had security locks. They could only be removed by "Corporate". He told me that people only wanted iPhones so that is what they sold. I pointed out the Samsungs. He said people only wanted them too. The conversation was getting weird so I left. But after a few minutes I came back to ask the other 3-4 people sitting at a desk about their signal strengths (They may or may not have been sales people). Two people responded that their AT&T strengths were 4 bars. The salesman then said he had 1 bar. So I pointed out to him that the towers were clearly working so why tell me otherwise?. I told him I have been AT&T customer for 20+ years and never have I encountered such poor service with AT&T staff. He refused to give me his name and told me I should talk to "Corporate". Again. I call corporate and of course get looped into the silly interactive non-person on the other-end-of-the-line nonsense. read more

I have to give Puneet Shrivastava 5 stars as well. I walked into the AT&T store on Wednesday night a little unhappy that I left AT&T in the first place. I ended up walking out with a pre-ordered iPhone 7 Plus, an iPad mini and an awesome data plan. I was a little bummed that I lost my grandfather plan (No fault of AT&T) but left satisfied.
