WARNING! This store lies about its inventory and treats people like crap for being right. I purchased a new iPhone online in the morning for pick up when the inventory said they had two more. I show up in the evening just to find out they said they never had it even though I had a confirmation number. If that wasn't upsetting enough, I called the store to submit a complaint with the manager that the system isn't accurate. His response was aggressive telling me that they have no idea what they have in stock and that the numbers online take up to 48 hours to update, making it sound like it was my fault. It wasn't until I told him there was no mention of that ridiculous faulty online inventory update in the terms on my online purchase and that this all replicates falsifying information for financial gain (aka illegal), at that point that the store manager suddenly started speaking politely, changing his tone and calling me sir. This was the peak of their positive customer service for me. This place is full of clowns, stay as far away as possible if you don't like dealing with shady business practices. read more

Dustin and Aaron were great! I went in with my mom, her iPhone 7 was broken so she needed a new phone. Apple was having some issues with software updates and I was complicated to boot. I was going to give my iPhone 8 to my mom, and get the new iPhone 11. They were so helpful and patient as we sorted through some tech issues. They did a ggreat job trouble shooting, setting up both phones and making sure everything was sorted out and ported over. Kudos to both Dustin and Aaron. read more

Great customer service and product/offer knowledge from Misael. When I switched from Sprint to AT&T 2 years ago, I looked at Verizon as well and compared plans. Im glad I went with AT&T. They have been consistent with services and offers provided and the great customer service has always been appreciated. My husband and I came in and felt with manny who was a great customer service rep. However, I came in two days later because the iPhone battery charger that wasn't working after dropping over a grand on two brand new largest iPhones. I was not added to the account unfortunately so I called my husband and put the new rep DUSTIN on the phone with him. While he was on the phone he rudely interrupted my husband mid conversation saying 'are you done' I was shocked myself as I was awkwardly in person with this rep. I had the worst experience here with an employee named Mika. I was simply trying to pay for a phone case, I stood at the sales desk and nobody would acknowledge me or help me. I was in a rush and instead of helping me pay, the employee Mika was screaming at a woman on the phone for over 10 minutes. I had to interrupt to try to get help which enraged him and made fun of my urgency to pay for a cell phone case. I asked just to pay and leave so I didn't have to listen to him go on and on berating her and being angry. I didn't come in for that kind of energy or anger. It was awful. I went in to purchase a cover for my phone, thinking going to ATT would be best. I explained I needed a cover for my phone and showed the sales person Nancy my phone. She chose a cover, during the purchase I realized she gave me a screen cover. I told her I just needed to protect the phone. She proceeded to scold me on how I used the incorrect terminology (forget the fact she missed an upsale)..as I needed a case. case/cover I just wanted to protect my phone! Paid ATT prices for a guest experience instead was scolded.. What happened to customer service, treating the customer with kindness. Terrible experience with greedy, dishonest staff, stay away. Dustin Martinez is a lying, scam artist who offered false promises that costed me a lot of time on the phone with customer service to fix what he lied to my face about, while upgrading my iphone. He offered fake discounts to my bill in return of me trying their streaming TV service. That was a lie, there was never a discount applied like he said. I also told him I didn't want any iphone insurance, but he just signed me up for it anyway. Beware of the employee's at this store they will do anything to make a quick buck off of you. This store is a nightmare. The employees lie directly to your face every time you have to go in, even when you work consistently with the same employee at the store. Additionally, the employees hid in the back of house of the store for hours at a time hoping that you will become sick of waiting & leave as I have observed every time I have visited this location in addition to customers simply asking employees why normal policies in existence for their entire tenure have drastically changed without viable reasoning & walking out in frustration & disgust. We only have internet service with them because spectrum sucks ass so much that we thought we might could catch a break with AT&T. A joke. They promised us a $100 visa gift card because we had no option but to pay for modem installation on our internet (which I know how to install and certainly didn't want to pay for but they won't give you the modem or service unless they install it) which you pay for- then "get" a visa gift card as reimbursement. Why not just let the customer install for themselves & not go through the entire process? Oh yeah...because they want to promise the gift card which doesn't arrive for 3 to 4 months- not exaggerating remotely. I am on month three of "service" after visiting the retail store 4x in the past month in pursuit of the promised visa gift card reimbursement. If there can be worse customer service than spectrum....tada!!! You found it. Stay the fuck away from this place. I will be getting new phone service & internet as soon as possible & breaking every contract possible with this dishonest & archaically managed company. read more

I'm once again disappointed with how AT & T runs their business and their employees aren't very knowledgeable I am needing a simple charger but as they are well overpriced and I just bought three chargers that all broke within 30 days I now need another charger thinking AT& T would honor their 20 % off accessories for business customers they or course don't! So I guess this doesn't exist at all..I pull up Att 20 percent off accessories online but yet they state " that's only online" how I look at it " what in the hell is the difference????" Just received my first bill that was supposed to be around $120 for two lines and it is $220.38 -- wow. I was totally surprised and this is an auto deduction on 7/4. I called my rep Rahiim. He told me "the bill is higher in the beginning and then will drop per the white paper I gave you". Unfortunately he never gave me a "white paper". If he had, I would certainly have remembered it. I did not even get a receipt for the new Samsung Galaxy I purchased. He said that he'd look into our file but to date, I've not heard back. I called AT&T and got someone in India who helped me to reduce the monthly to $128. If this is the way AT&T works, I will be changing to a new carrier. I can go with T Mobile for the Magenta plan, over 55 and pay $90 for 2 lines unlimited talk/text. Disappointed. read more

Ask for Jose. He has been there for 13 years and has a "can do" attitude unlike the guys at the Orange, Ca location. He showed me a plan where you get a new phone every single year. He knows the system and has a "can do" attitude. It was rally quick to get in and out. He also suggested a plan where I get a new phone every year. It is a little more than buying the phone, but the cost is buried into the monthly fee. My company only gives me $200 for a phone, Since it is not my money (I get reimbursed) this plan works better for me as there was not all this cash outlay and the monthly fee still works within corporate guidelines. I would not have figured out how to do this on my own and Jose suggested it after listening and determining the best way to proceed. Previously I went to the Orange location and this salesman was giving me every reason why I could not get the phone that day. Porting issues, the time to complete, etc. Jose in Costa Mesa does not do this and finds ways to make things work to actually GET you a phone, port over, and address your needs. Other AT&T reps are not as familiar with the plans or how to do things. read more

Total bummer. Just left this store as I needed a solve for a broken phone. Walked in, fella checked things out. There were a ton of employees walking around talking to each other, not serving customers. Dude looked at my phone and sent me packing to Apple (retail stores are closed right now, btw - ask me how I found out). He didn't pull up my contract, barely asked me a question about my account (outside of asking about insurance, which I wasn't sure I had - didn't even look me up), he did nothing. Horrible experience, crap customer service. I jumped online with AT&T and reported the store whilst getting a solve. Horrible service and attitude by the staff and manager, " Brian" (no last name). We had a problem, which a customer service rep on the phone said could only be fixed by going into a store. We talked to an employee, who didn't know what to do and didn't want to try to figure it out. I asked for a manager to see if he knew what to do. I ended up calling the 611 number and having the customer service rep talk to the manager. She spoke to him and after their conversation she instructed me to go to another location as this location was not willing to help to get the problem resolved. Wow really! We went to the location on Bristol in Santa Ana. Jose at that location had the problem identified in 5 minutes and we were all resolved and out the door in 30 minutes. I highly recommend Jose at the Bristol location. Don't waste your time going to the 17th street location. read more

17th st. Store in costa mesa. Great experience especially for a cellular provider. Open during covid, safe and clean practices. I would have given them 5 stars if they can handle all my customer service and maintenance requests. Some things still have to be handled by their 1-800 phone technicians.... I CANT STAND AT&T PHONE SUPPORT! I Wasted 50 minutes of my time on the phone yesterday. The phone technicians are VERY hard to understand. ATT NEEDS TO GIVE THE IN-STORE EMPLOYEES ALL THE POWER THEY NEED TO FULLY SERVICE THEIR CUSTOMERS! I would have bought a new phone during my visit if the employee had the ability to help me. Oh the dreaded upgrade. Like buying a car, it can be stomach-churning and time consuming. So after I fell in the pool with my phone secured in my pocket (alcohol was NOT a factor which is a pity because the story would be better) I had to outright purchase another Apple phone. That was painful since before this, the Company paid for everything. So when I abused THAT phone, alas, another upgrade was required and now we are at present day. The AT&T store on 17th is very nice. Its clean, accessible and well-stocked. I went in at around 10:45 am on a Wednesday and really only had to wait maybe 10 minutes before Ryan Carr greeted me. Lets just cut to the chase: EXPERIENCE is a wonderful thing in service folks and Ryan is outstanding. As consumers we often have to deal with service personnel on the phone or in person or in Chats online. Ryan was solid in all aspects of sales/service and that is why this is a 5-STAR rating. He listened to my needs, gave me solid advice, offered accessory products that were necessary, found the best deal, and handled the transaction like a PRO. In this day and age, efficiency is very important to me. I have the time but I abhor wasting it and to have an experienced person like Ryan is worth a premium to me. Fortunately, all this came at the regular price. If you need an upgrade for your phone and you're an AT&T customer, and reside in the Newport/Mesa vicinity, check out the shop on 17th. And if you have to wait for a salesperson, wait for Ryan Carr and you will be as happy as I am with the experience. read more

These guys are complete crooks. They told me they were giving me a deal and then charged me overly for my sons and my cell service and for the AT&T TV "deal." At the end of it all and after MANY phone calls, I was over-charged a total of about $1965.00 for two extra phone lines that these guys had signed me up for without my knowledge and after overcharging me for AT&T TV. The Corporate office of AT&T was only able to get me $279.88 back and "wave a separate $143 cancellation fee." I discovered that the guys that cheated me are still working there even though their associates at that location said there was "no one that worked then that still currently works there." Beware of doing business with this establishment. MY RESPONSE TO STORE MANAGER'S MESSAGE BELOW: I came in twice already about this and the only responses I got were lies proven to me later by your corporate office. Worst customer service! I went in to pick up a phone I purchased online and was assisted by Bruno Pomalaza. He handed me my phone (still wrapped in the box) and said here. Being a brand new phone I asked if he could help me set it up and his response,' just log onto your iCloud and everything should transfer'. I asked If he could just help me and he insisted on 'how easy' it is to set up then he offered me a bag. I asked for the case I had also ordered online and the one he gave me looked used. I hadn't checked the case since it was in the box. When I got home I realized it was used. I would have understood if the store was packed but it wasn't. There were quite a few workers just standing around chatting. I purchased a $1200 phone and would have appreciated some assistance setting it up. Never going there again. My mother and I came to hopefully look at her phone, as it won't turn on. We walked into the store and was greeted by a lady named Ashley. She was rude and so short on responses and had no knowledge of anything. Making us feel unwelcome & stupid. All staff were sitting around on their phone or goofing around with each other. This is the worst customer service we have ever dealt with. I came into this store a week earlier to this and the same unwelcome and that I'm the nuisance was felt. So instead of any manager coming to figure out what was wrong he decided to pop off on me and my mom. I took photos of staff not doing anything. He came over and immediately got hostile with me. Saying it's not stores policy to allow that, and if it is, I do apologize. But the way him and his staff then treated us to "get out of the store now". Keep being hostile even as we were walking out, then standing inside the front door, staring us down with us outside smoking, trying to intimidate us, so uncalled for. Rather than trying to figure out WHY, he just wanted to feel superior. If this was the actual store manager, well that's very unfortunate. So as he said I am NOT welcome back and to never return, I will more than gladly drive twice the distance to avoid this rude and unwelcoming location. read more
