The store manager Jerman and the sales associate David stayed until the store closed trying to fix a mistake made by Brenda the manager and Fernando at the Corona del Mar ATT store which is not really ATT but a third party reseller owned by Prime Communications. Brenda sold me a phone and did not check to see if I had phone service and gave me a sheet on how to transfer data on my own. When I got home, I could not receive or make calls. I went back to the store 30 minutes later, and Fernando gave me nonstop excuses why he couldn't help me from : 1. "Why does this always happen to me when I have to close?" 2. "When did you buy this phone?" Excuse me, but you were sitting here next to Brenda one hour ago when I bought it. 3." Brenda will fire me if I call her again." 4. " You have to go to the ATT store in Costa Mesa for help since I can't help you" I asked him to call the ATT store in Costa Mesa to ensure that they could help and he said he can only call tech support but tech support is closed. 5. At this point I am upset since they know I need to take calls since I am a physician and I ask him to call his manager again and he gives a new excuse of "Brenda is at the emergency room at a hospital" 6. Best excuse of all, " I need to go or I will miss my bus." Clearly, he was completely disinterested in helping me knowing full well that I need to be accessible by phone for patients. Prime Communications is ultimately to blame for misleading customers that they are a true ATT branch and for having employees who are clearly disinterested in helping past the point of sale. Prime Communications should not masquerade as a true ATT branch since they sully the reputation of ATT. read more

I guess by looking at the reviews, this place is a hit or miss. Good thing it was a hit for me! I was checking all the AT&T stores around my house to get my new iPhone but they all had mostly bad reviews so I very nervous to actually go to an AT&T store. My brother lives in the area so this is why I came here. When we first got in, we were greeted and asked what we needed help with today. I needed my new iPhone and the lady said we're the first on the waiting list. The wait seemed a little long for me and there was only a few employees working. But when our name got called, Norma changed everything. She answered all of our many, many questions; about our bill, iPhones, etc. She was very friendly, very patience, and very helpful. Honestly this was the best AT&T experiences I've ever had. I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off or there were any hidden fees added to my bill. I went to AT&T to upgrade my iPhone but couldn't decide if I wanted the 7 or 7+. She told me how much I would be paying monthly for each, which helped a lot choosing. I live 40 mins away (no traffic) from this AT&T store and would drive all the way to Costa Mesa just for Norma to help with all of my AT&T needs. Thank you Norma! read more

Either their salespeople have no training and are absolutely clueless or the management of the store is too busy taking your money to care about customer service. Our salesgirl was Nancy... she gave us so much wrong information there's not enough time to list it all. If you try to call AT&T customer service they say they can't help you and that you have to go thru the store. The manager Fred is the ONLY person there that can authorize any kind of monetary correction and, big surprise, he's NEVER available and doesn't call you back!! Best AT&T store! Great customer care and service! I was having challenges with a phone, and my friends were trying to get me to change companies, but I wanted to stay loyal with AT&T so decided to get a new number and phone. I had already called AT&T corporate/611, but then needed immediate fix so went to the store in Costa Mesa I have been working with for all these years for a solution. I spoke with Steve the store manager and explained my situation and he was welcoming, friendly, and gave me hope that they could help the same day. Will B was knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful and addressed all my needs and I left the store happy. As I was waiting, I saw the interactions of the other sales representatives with other customers as the store was busy. Every single one of the staff at this store was kind, understanding of the customer's issues (as people get emotional about their phones! :) ), and provided supportive customer care. I love going into this AT&T store. The staff is very friendly, attentive, professional and they know their business. I had an iphone issue which 3 tech support staff on AT&T 611 could not help me resolve (don't get me wrong I really appreciate the tech support staff). However, when I went into this AT&T store I met a very smart retail consultant Jeffery Macias. In less than 10 minutes, Jeffery helped me resolve my tech issue. Jeffery was terrific in the way he explained my tech issue and how he helped resolve the issue. I know I am singling out Jeffery but I've had similar experiences with other retail consultants over the years at this store. I highly recommend this specific AT&T retail store. read more

Wow! Finally changed to a different provider, kept the same number, phone is totally paid off and AT&T is still charging for the service. Interesting enough the cycle date is on the 13th monthly, but if the bill is not paid by the 3rd you have a late fee. Not sure how that works legally, but I guess we will find out in court since AT&T does not seem to recognize that they are no longer are the provider for the phone number- even though the new provider had to call them to get the number released. Derick, the friendly man that took care of me. You sir made my day! Derick you not only took care of me promptly but you also were patient in showing me the ways of my new iPhone. Recently purchased at the Apple store I came here to have my contacts transferred. When Derick found out that just a little over a week prior I had bought Verizon's lame attempt to make a phone similar to the iPhone called the DROID he was a little shocked. I too was shocked at how lame I was to of even of spent more money on such a crap phone in which I also got crap customer service at Verizon only wanting to stay with them for the "insurance" plan and reliable service which that service was non existent once I got the Droid. In short Derick had me in and out also showing me the ways of my phone. Helping me set up my email and showing me some other tricks to the phone. The phone is pretty user friendly so I had no problem maneuvering it but he went over things with me. Also, showing me different and better plans that I can sign up for. Note: when you get your phone at Apple you can not pick anything other than standard plans. So if you want a family plan you have to visit an AT&T store for this or do it over the phone. He told me to include the tablet with the purchase of a phone and sell it on ebay, which I did but then months later found out I was locked into a 2 year contract. Although I absolutely loath AT&T as my cable and internet provider (I had to cancel my cable and now only have basic because to turn it on is reminiscent of the algorithm for extra lives in Contra circa 1991....unplug, plug, reboot, repeat and rejoice when it finally powers up). I came in here for a new hands free as I accidentally dropped mine while walking my dog last week. Friendly and helpful, the staff helped me select a mid-priced hands free. I had phone issues and brought my one day old phone in for replacement after being advised by AT&T support that can do so. Ian, the store manager, refused to do so and ended up yelling at me in the store in front of other customers as I was trying to explain that AT&T support said it was within my 14 days return agreement. But Ian continued to get louder and louder repeating that same line. I have never been treated like this. Words can not explain the unprofessional attitude from Ian. Just because of him I will be canceling all my accounts (15 year customer with AT&T) and go to another carrier. He should be fired for the way he treated me. Came in to get someone to explain why my bill is $500 this month after adding an iPad to my mobile share acct last month. Of course theres a long wait, 4 people ahead of me on a Sunday afternoon, always busy here but they are always courteous and knowledgeable. Anyways, turned out the mobile share plan I added the previous month was added and the old plan was never removed so I was still paying for two plans, they get a dock off 1 star for that screwup but the guy helping me was awesome, he called customer service to clear things up and ended up crediting my account over $200 in charges. I waited another week and called customer service again and asked if they would also remove the $36 fee for setting up the iPad on the account and ended up removing another $80 in charges, amazed what large conglomerates can do to keep customers happy when they want to. read more

AT&T Store - U-verse wall - Mobile Phones Near Me - Costa Mesa, California

I've been a Verizon and Time Warner girl for about 10 years. With that said, I'm all about trying other companies/brands to get a better deal. My boyfriend and I needed to get cable setup for our new place. We popped in here to see what specials they were running. Within a few minutes we were greeted. After explaining our current situation and what we wanted, we were presented with a few different options. An associate and her manager presented an offer that sounded quite enticing. . . all the channels we wanted, plus some premium, HD, offered switching discounts, and even next day setup. . . all for $20 less per month than what I was currently paying with Time Warner Cable. We shook hands and walked out feeling excited and happy with our decision. . . . Fast forward to the next few weeks after that day, we were in AT&T hell. I will spare the details but we were essentially promised one thing, but delivered another. To this day (three months later) we have never received the appropriate bill amount. We had numerous calls, in-person visits with multiple managers and it was still not fixed. In short, we feel like we were conned. As you know (or may not know), with AT&T it's a year contract you are locked into. We're teetering on just canceling and dealing with the cancellation fee since the service in the store has been so awful and we've been having issues at home with our wi-fi speed (also not what was promised). My suggestion would be: A. consider your alternatives, time warner, cox, Dish, etc in place of AT&T B. work with another office (not sure if they would be better) C. carefully review your initial paperwork and make sure everything that was promised to you verbally is printed in computer ink on your contract (for example, HD is not automatic with AT&T, it is a $10 surcharge) read more

I was very disappointed in the quality of service offered at this AT&T store. Many of workers here were rude and unhelpful. Don't go here! I was searching several AT&T stores in order to find a blue tooth headset called the Jawbone Era. It was a brand new product at the time and several stores ran out of inventory. I had called ahead of time and spoke to an individual who confirmed that it was in stock there. Within twenty minutes, I had arrived at the store. A man approached me and asked if I needed help. I told him I called ahead of time looking for the Bluetooth headset, he then put his hand up to me and said to hold on with an assertive voice like he was the boss of me. I wait for 30 minutes while plenty of workers were roaming around the store. The man who I initially meet then gets lunch, comes back, but still sees me sitting there! He does nothing. After sitting there for almost 40 minutes, another man then says its not there and gave me the worst attitude ever. I've never had good service at this location and have only gone back because its so close to my house. Best thing is it's clean and air conditioned. When I went in..had to wait with my name on the board...while other sales people were standing around or talking to each other. When I was helped it was a very strange encounter. The sales guy got overly personal. He commented on my age, my looks (not in a "coming on" kind of way) and didn't really listen to what I wanted. Our family has been with AT&T for almost 7 years. Over the past year customer service has been substandard both at the 611 number as well as in the stores. I believe that AT&T has growing too fast to accommodate customer demand effectively. In fact,  just yesterday, the AT&T Store on 17th Street in Costa Mesa let us walk out the door knowing that we were off contract may be ready to move on to another carrier.   The employee/representative of AT&T just did not seem to care. We did just that. We walked out of the AT&T store to the Sprint store.....to see what Sprint had to offer. As it turns out,    my son is switching from AT&T to Sprint and we will probably switch to Sprint as well. This has not been the first incident that we have been unhappy with with AT&T. There has been numerous over the past year. We have been excellent customers for almost 7 years and it appears that AT&T does not really care. read more

This rating is for AT&T TV not the store. I called the 800 "Customer Service number on my bill to inquire why my rates went up. More than 12 months ago I bundled tv, internet, (fiber) and landline. After spending 15 minutes with the first representative I am happy to report she was able to restore my $40.00 per month savings for streaming tv. She then said she would transfer me to the U-verse division so they could help with my internet and landline. After 10 minutes on hold a male representative greeted me. Given his extremely hard to understand accent and incredibly poor connection I presume he is out of country. I spoke 5 times even though I am calling AT&T (A phone Company) he could not hear me and hung up. Should be easy, I will call back. NOT so. I called 10 more times was connected to a busy signal and all 10 times was disconnected. Call #11 I finally worked my way through their maze of voice generated options and was connected to a real person. No fault of hers she was unable to take me back to my original pricing plan which is the whole reason I bundled all 3 with AT&T so they could save me money. Seems they only want to save you money for 12 months then jack your rates up. Terrible business model! Maybe that's why they lost 600k subscribers????? Why not reward existing customers for loyalty with the same price your lure them in with and keep them? Truly disappointing given the size of AT&T they can't provide and efficient 800 service and choose not to reward valued customers with consistent pricing. read more

I took my mother to the store today to get her a more reliable phone; she's been using an old flip phone just for emergencies or when she travels. Andrey helped us. He showed us all the options and, not only didn't try to upsell us, he actually told us which more expensive ones we shouldn't buy, as they had more upgrades than she needs! Aside of the fact that he was very honest, Andrey was very patient. We took up a lot of his time and he spent extra time explaining how to use the phone and which accessories we did and did not need. SCAM ALERT! This store is swindling customers. I brought in a sealed un-opened phone case that I purchased here with receipt in hand and just wanted to do a simple exchange. It was hardly simple. First, the aggressive sales tactics at this store are out of control. We walked in and immediately face to face with a sales rep, damn near a spear tackle. We sidestepped the sales pitch and went to another representative to do the exchange. Even though I had the receipt and the case was sealed, they told me that the case was 50% off and that I would only get 50% credit! That's highway robbery! I've been trying to do this exchange for a screen protector for a couple weeks now and every time I called they said they were out of stock and to call back. Finally today they have it in stock, so I went in and now they're trying to fool me out of 50% of my money! I asked for the store manager and he tried to make it seem like he was doing me a favor. Unreal. I took the case and walked out, I'd rather keep it than give them the satisfaction of ripping me off. Avoid this store. read more

I was charged a HUGE cancellation fee. This is back in late 2016 when Directv and AT&T had just joined together, and they were putting together big promotions and pushing the product in stores. I was told when I signed up that there was no contracts or fees involved if I wanted to cancel within 90 days. I went into AT&T in Costa Mesa off 17th St to cancel my cable, and was sold on Directv because I was promised all these amazing things. The sales guy told me I would be able to DVR 10 shows at a time because I told him I never watch tv only things I record, I said i don't want to deal with contracts or cancellation fees, he said there was none and I wouldn't be charged if I cancelled within 30 days and I wouldn't have to deal with fees if I cancelled within 90 days, just pay for what I used....he said everything to sell me. So I went for it because it was going to be a lot cheaper, no risk, and I'd have all the DVR options. Guy comes to install it, he's awesome, is patient, works with the owner of my building to talk him through mounting a dish on the building....he's great. After it's all installed he shows me how to work the system, and I ask about DVR. Tells me this system doesn't come with it, I'd need a different box, would have to place an order for it, and it's going to cost me extra. The guy at the AT&T who sold me on how amazing Directv was didn't tell me any of this. I'm upset, but told I can cancel within 90 days. I'm out of town for the next 2 weeks, and once I come back, I go into the AT&T store to cancel. They say this guy who sold me the package no longer works there for a reason, because he over promised and was giving wrong information. I'm upset and tell them I want to cancel. They say it's late at night, the number we need to call is closed, but they'd do it for me in the morning but I should call too. I get another bill a couple of weeks later and no box to return my receiver, so I go back in again upset. They tell me they'll do what they can, cancel my account, and I need to return my receiver. I get a box a couple of weeks later and return the receiver. I am now trying to close and bring my account current, it won't let me view the bill online, and gives me a huge total. I call and find out that sure as shit there is a contract/cancellation fee. I was told when I went in to cancel my UVerse that Directv was not going to have these fees and I was going to get this awesome product that doesn't exist where you can DVR 10 shows at once. I get that this sales guy doesn't work there anymore, but then AT&T should be eating the cost of people's fees if he told them there wouldn't be any fees. I'm currently unemployed, frustrated that it took so long to close my account only to find out it's because I didn't pay the bill because I have been trying for months to close this account and shouldn't have been billed at that time. If you look at my usage you'll see I didn't use it after going into AT&T to cancel it because I assumed it wasn't active still. I tried calling to sort this out and they said I had to use an online form that I submitted this statement to. Also, the number that came on my bill in my email that ends in 5000 doesn't work. I get a letter from a collections company, tell them the story, send them this statement, they say I need to send it via snail mail. I went ahead and did that. I never heard back, called again to get it resolved since I'm now employed and trying to work on my credit, and they say Directv has taken the account back. I call and the first girl gets all my info, transfers me, without telling me and I have to repeat everything to someone else. He says he'll escalate it, but that I'm up a creek and should have read the contract and not just trusted the guy at the store who was pushing me to sign and get it done since they were closing. Great customer service and care through the AT&T store by my apartment, I'm now being told I owe hundreds for a product I was wanting to cancel while the installation guy was still there. Some follow up regarding my account would be greatly appreciated. I really do want to settle my account in a fair manner and hope to hear back from someone soon. Thank you. read more

I needed a new phone, unfortunately my iPhones went for a swim in the pool. I walk in and request an iPhone X. I was asked if I wanted to buy insurance and I said no. I then was asked if I wanted a free iPhone 8. I said huh, I was then told that because I have such a old and great plan and because I'm grandfathered in I should take advantage of the free iPhone 8. Again, simply because I'm buying an iPhone X they want to give me a free phone. I said no thank you because again I've done this before and nothing is ever free here at AT&T. I was told not once, not twice but five times that I am passing up on the deal of a lifetime. They treated me like I was stupid because I wouldn't take the free phone. The sales person even went over and got the manager who sat down next to me and again told me how I was passing up a free phone. He told me that my plan allowed me to have a total of 4 phones for a flat fee and because I only had 3 phones currently I could get the free phone and not have to pay a dime. I was told I didn't even have to activate the phone. He told me that I could walk out the front door and sell the new phone to the next guy walking in. All because of the program that I'm signed up with and the fact that I'm grandfathered in. Thinking to myself that the deal sounds too good to be true so I said no thank you. One more time I was told that again I was passing up an amazing offer and that he wanted to confirm with me that there are no hidden fees and or other charges. So I decided to take the free phone. Thank God I threw it in the drawer at the house and didn't activate it because sure enough my bill came and I was charged the first of thirty three installment payments, yep they were charging us like $700.00 for the phone along with another $100.00 worth of activation fees, taxes and miscellaneous charges. OK, so I get on the phone with AT&T for about an hour where I learn there's no grandfathered in program for me and there's no free phone for me and that "unfortunately sir somebody gave you wrong information" So as you can imagine I was pissed and I drove down to the AT&T store. So after waiting about 20 minutes I finally talk to the girl at the front counter and said I wanted to return the phone. She was very nice and did indeed take the phone back for me and told me that she reversed all charges and cleaned it up so that I will not have the extra phone on my account. She refunded me all monies involved and she apologize for the misunderstanding. Fast forward a couple weeks and we go to pay the bill and and we find out that not only did they never ever process the refund but that AT&T shows that I still have the phone and that there's nothing they can do about it and that I'm going to have to go back to the store and talk with a manager. So I drive back to the AT&T store, I walk in and I can see on the girls face that they already don't like me, about 90 minutes later I return home and I told my wife that everything's OK. She wakes up the next day and goes to pay the bill and again AT&T tells us that yes we returned the phone but that the phone number is still active and they we were still paying for this new line. Are you kidding me!! So as you can imagine my wife and I both this time drive back to the AT&T store. We walk in and talk to a employee who offered to help us, he was very nice but we absolutely had to speak to a manager this time. So 20 minutes later a manager walked up and offered to help us. I was a little pissed and because of this unfortunately the manager had a little bit of an attitude but did help us and he did resolve the problem. The manager fixed everything and the phone was returned properly this time. He gave us an additional $25 credit that was going to be on our next bill for all the inconvenience. I will be honest with you I think I should of received a $500 credit for all the crap we went through. I have to tell you what I really wanted to hear is that he was going to personally make sure that this was never going to happen again to another customer. What I wanted to hear was that he was going to stand up for the consumers that are being ripped off by the sales staff because according to the girl at AT&T on the phone this kind of thing happens all the time. If you add up all the time I spent driving back-and-forth to the store, talking to people at the store and talking to the people on the phone at AT&T I wasted six hours of my life. All because if you ask me the sales team lied and cheated me so that they can earns commission or hit their sales quota. read more

I had an issue that AT&T couldn't fix on the phone. I was a bit aggravated that I had to go into the store but made the trek in. Pierce was professional and fun, very competent and made good conversation. Brandon, the manager, stopped by to see how we were doing and stayed to talk with us for a while.
