Went to AT&T Dana Point to purchase a phone as mine fell in the bay and I already had a AT&T contract. I specifically told the rep that all I wanted to do was to purchase a phone and not make any changes to any contracts. After leaving the store I found out that he added a 250.00 AppleCare plan that i didn't ask for. Cell phone sales is the new used car sales and shame On AT&T for allowing that behavior. Buyer beware and make sure you ask all the questions upfront and they are not upfront at all about the costs that you will incur. read more

Initial thoughts: - How is the manager there the manager? He was condescending and clearly had a great sales month because our business was not important to him. Came in a few nights ago to purchase a new iPhone. We were ready to pay the thousand plus dollars to buy the phone outright. We walked in at 7pm on a Monday night, two hours before closing. All of the associates were busy, which is understandable, but we were not once greeted or told that they would be with us shortly. We waited for 30+ minutes without any sort of acknowledgement from the staff. We finally left and went to the AT&T store on La Paz and we're greeted immediately. I have been to this AT&T store many times over the last decade, but felt compelled to write a review today because of Nicholas and his great service. He is the store manager and currently the ONLY employee at this location. They previously had two others, but they quit. He works there alone every day with no help. Today, even though we had to wait a while, he made sure to let us know he would help as soon as he could. He would greet everyone as they walked in and ask what they needed help with to help redirect them if it was something he didn't have in stock or couldn't assist with. For example, several people wanted the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which wasn't in stock, so he gave them options as to where to check. Someone else came in to try to pay their bill with cash, which he politely told her he couldn't assist with and informed her of the other locations who could take cash payment. I was there to help my dad switch from a Samsung Galaxy with Spectrum to an iPhone with AT&T and add him to my family plan. Nicholas not only assisted seamlessly with the sale, but also the transfer, setup, and knew more about how to navigate Spectrum's service to transfer the phone number than the rude Spectrum rep I was on the phone with while trying to obtain info on my dad's account. He even found a way to save us more on our family plan for the rest of my family members. While helping us, he assisted several other clients. It was pretty busy in the store and I felt bad that he was alone! He mentioned to me that he would have to close the store to take a lunch break after helping the rest of the customers currently in the store. I see that someone else left a review complaining about that. But what choice did he have?! He's required by state law to take a break and he also needs to eat and take a breather! If anything, I feel like his district manager or other management should be stepping up by either getting employees from other stores to go in and work with him or they can go in themselves to help. My dad and I are really grateful for Nicholas's patience and great service today. read more

I know some people will be upset with wait times and short staffing but you can't really do anything much as a customer other than voice your frustration. Ya they could use a system where you put your name on a waitlist but when it's your their. To be helped the staff here did a really good job fixing my needs and helping me. The manager Kim showed that when I needed help with my new device and also tried to accommodate those who were waiting. She and others do a really great job at this location trying to solve issues and problems. I get it we are in a area where other individuals think there time is more important than others and the entitlement of some who were very impatient behind me who had to wait. I would say horrible service but that would have required the employee to have acknowledged that i had been in the store for 10 minutes even though he hd only one other customer since the lady there before me have up and left. That after the store still wasn't open at 11 (says opens at 10 on the door) and employee had looked at me and another customer through the window and just waled away. We walked in three times in one day and we're not greeted. We stood awkwardly in the store for at the very least 15 minutes each time. Our first experience with Natasha was unfavorable, she wasn't helpful and somehow expected us to do her job. Our second trial run we waited about 10 minutes until greeted and the manager was nicer and provided lively conversation. We had to come in a third time due to our miscommunication with the account holder. As we came in the third time Natasha rudely asked us questions that we had already provided the answer to. She had asked us what color phone we would like and we ask which were in stock without breaking eye contact she one word replied with "black". Upon hearing this I was extremely dissatisfied. I was then told to simply check other att stores I asked if she could check on her iPad for us again without breaking eye contact she said no. She then directed me to call an att store and for once offered to help me with a conversation that I'm completely capable of doing on my own. All in all I do not have the words for how upset I am. I give my rating a minus 0... if there's such a thing. My dissapointment was that awful. I have never written a review before but I was appauled by her attitude. I will try to be brief... I visited this store and the manager "Kim" was beyond rude. I walked in and she dismissed me to one of her employees. I guess she was too good to help me out. Her body language was very dismissive and stand-offish. When I respectfully tried to convey my displeasure her attitude was very condescending. She is not aware of the concept of customer service. Her horrible demeanor was also apparent with one of her employees. When I tried giving her feedback she continously cut me off. During an interaction with her co-worker, I could hear complaining about not paying overtime to finish the transaction, she caused to be delayed. She blamed us for buying several phones. As my family and I walked away, she began to laugh out loud at us. I had to stop as I was shocked!!! I will pursue this further and contact a district manager as this person has no business being in a managerial role and managing people. read more

Horrible customer service. The manager told us we would be helped in 15 minutes and to wait outside. After 45 minutes no one came out to help us or ask us to come inside. It was in the 50's outside and we were freezing so when we saw customers leaving the store we went inside. Another 15 minutes go by until we are approached by an employee and told that we need to call customer service. They refused to call for us because they were closing in 25 minutes. So they can't spend 25 minutes calling customer service for us? We waited over an hour to be told we need to call a 1-800 number and be on hold even longer. The way they sell you is a technique I refer to as the "confusion close". Be careful because you might walk out in a confused state, thinking you got a free tablet and iPhone. In reality the next morning you'll wake up in a similar state to those who've spent time with Bill Cosby. They told me I could buy one iPhone and get one free. They would just ad a little to my bill. When I did the math not only was I not buying 1 phone and getting one free...I was paying for 3 iPhones but only getting 2. There would be much less confusion if they put a big sign in front of the store that read "PAY FOR 3 iPhones, get 2!" read more

The Laguna Niguel location used to be pretty good and had no problem giving credit where credit is due. Today I ran into Lisette C who was allegedly a store manager. Frankly, I am surprised she could manage her way out of a wet paper bag. Lisette has an absolutely horrible attitude and had no sense of professionalism. A few days ago I was looking for an HTC smart phone. I had one that I dropped and the phone would no longer hold a charge. Until then the phone was a champ for me. I was told they did not have that phone in stock and sold me a Motorola phone they told me was actually better. This Motorola phone dropped more calls like it was 1985. Not only that, the HTC could pick up a signal on the moon, this Motorola phone could not pick up a signal if I was standing next to a cell tower. So, I brought the HTC phone I wanted online and brought the Motorola phone into the Laguna Niguel store for a refund. I walk in the store and 3 AT&T people were assisting customers, and as I browsing the store a bit I noticed 5 others in a back room not doing anything. There was only 1 customer ahead of me yet it took 15-minutes for anyone just to say hello or put my name in this "list". 30-more minutes and finally Lisette C. made her way over to help me. Switching the SIM card and SD card was no problem. When it came time to refund my money from the shitty phone they sold me, this is where Lisette C. became a problem. Lisette tells me that there would be a $35 restocking fee for returned merchandise. No joke. I reminded Lisette C. that the phone they sold me dropped calls left and right...look at the call history where I had to dial and redial a number several times to complete a call. Lisette C., could have cared less. She tells me that she could replace the phone for free with the exact same phone or charge me a restocking fee of $35. Really Lisette C.? You sold me a phone that doesn't make phone calls and you want to exchange it for the same exact phone that still won't make phone calls? Not to mention, I just spent a couple hundred dollars on the HTC phone I originally wanted and you just provisioned. Lisette C. should definitely not be a manager in a retail establishment that deals with a healthy volume of people. Lisette C. knew she is not very good at this job because she did not even bother to send me the survey that is custom after every store visit. read more

Of course AT&T sucks. They sucked before they opened a bunch of AT&T stores. They sucked before they fired all their handset techs who used to troubleshoot and repair handsets in the stores and they definitely eyeball-popping-sucked after that where everyone now has to go to a "hardware support center" which seems to be modeled after the DMV (they have like 5 in a 100 mile radius) where you usually have to wait hours to get serviced. They suck with Uverse, their customer service sucks, their website sucks, and overall being a customer of them just sucks hot and hairy super monkey balls. But this store is awesome. It's actually the first sincerely friendly AT&T store I've ever been to. Samantha was awesome and I'm guessing will be to anyone who's lucky to get assistance at this store. The manager Matthew is attentive and chill. They keep things lighthearted in terms of vibe but really make the customer feel...ummm....not abandoned. They actually tried everything to help me instead of dismissing me (that's right Culver City Overland store, I'm looking at you). And even though I had to take it to the hardware support center (getting rid of handset support in all stores is another reason AT&T is about as loved as getting punched in the face), I was impressed enough to do a write up on these folks. read more

Now I know AT&T may not be so popular with many as they get badmouthed for their lousy coverage, but I've never had a problem. This review isn't for cell service, but for the customer service I received in the store. I went in to sign up for U-Verse and was promptly assisted by Taylen. He was able to waive my USBConnect early termination fee (over $100) and sign me up for U-Verse in less than 10 minutes. I was supposed to get a $300 rebate for signing up, but I guess he forgot and he called me a few days later to apologize for forgetting and to let me know that he'd resubmit my application so that I would receive my rebate in the mail. I'm really surprised that happened. Yes, he forgot about my rebate, but he figured out he made a mistake and took responsibility for it and called to tell me. That's what customer service is all about. I don't need someone kissing my you-know-what, but just acting like you care even if you don't says something. It makes me feel comfortable and shows you know what you're doing and that you actually care enough about your job to go the extra mile. Thank you. read more

After choosing a case he helped put my glass screen cover on as well which was much appreciated (I hate the bubbles). He was also quick (not rushing) because he knew everything he was doing. I walk int to literally just upgrade my phone which doesn't take much time anymore due to the advanced technology right.. There was one girl working who was helping a family already; not once for nearly 10 min did she acknowledge me as not one other customer was in the store other than who she was with.. While looking at the phones she happens to come by me (still no hello nothin) tells me to "move over" she needed in the drawer I was near...! I asked is there anyone else here working? She replies oh ya someone will be with you shortly. No joke I waited 20 min and no one ever came out to help not did she say anything more or apologize for waiting around basically wasting my time. This is for THE COMPANY, NOT JUST THIS STORE After many years of being a loyal customer, I now find myself in the midst of a very heated and frustrating battle with your company over what I consider to be a fraudulent policy, totally one-sided and misrepresented. I had several lines on my account, phone numbers and phones with my children. Unfortunately, we could not get reception at the beach, and switched all but one line to TMobile. I asked for and received a suspension on this account, for the line 619-993-5722, which has been in effect for the past year. I paid $10/ mo during the suspension period. I did not use the phone at all. Just wanted to be able to keep the phone number in case I wanted to use it again. In January (believe it was either the call on January 29, or February 2) of 2020, I called to ask for another extension of the suspension. That WAS GRANTED, and I was told I would have that in place until June 2020. I hung up believing my bill would continue to be $10/mo until June 2020. When I spoke to someone on the phone about this yesterday, they told me they can see ALL that in the notes on my account, around Feb 3, that this statement was true. Unfortunately, your system did not allow the extension, and instead automatically reinstated the original plan, WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR ACCEPTANCE, WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION OF ANY KIND. So, here I am at the end of January, having accidentally paid twice on my account, and seeing that I had a $45 credit on the account. In March I started getting phone calls that I was past due. How could that be, when I knew I had a credit? I went to my account, and saw I had a $189 bill!!! When I called they said the problem was that even though I asked for a suspension, the system couldn't renew the suspension, and the account was reverted back to my original plan, with a bill of $189! They said they couldn't do anything about my new bill, but would be glad to place me on a $.25/minute plan instead. But that they can't do that, until my bill was paid. Now, I ask you. Is it fair to tell me that my suspension was in place, only to replace it with the original plan, with no notice, or call that my request cannot be granted???? I don't care what your policy is regarding a suspension. If your policy is to have it for a short period only, that is fine, so long as YOU CONVEY THIS INFORMATION. If my suspension could not be granted, WHY WASN'T I INFORMED? WHY WAS THERE NO CALL FROM YOUR COMPANY TELLING ME MY REQUEST CANNOT BE GRANTED, AND THAT I NEEDED TO CHOOSE ANOTHER PLAN???? I cancelled my account today. I lost the phone number I have had for 20 years, thanks to you. I will NOT be paying the bill for February or March, and YOU OWE ME $45. You MUST make this right. read more

First off this company is FRAUD!!!! What ever you do DO NOT go to this location for any reason. Sales reps have no clue what they're talking about. There only goal is to sell you TV services and could care less about the reason you really came in for. They will LIE to you, tell you your monthly bill will be cheaper but when you get your bill its over 100 dollars more and cant do anything about it. We asked to speak with a manager hoping they would be more insightful, we were wrong! the manager CHRISTIAN was even worse and ended up walking us out of the store with an attitude. I know a lot of people who come to the same location as I and also have the same experience. Something needs to be done about their sales techniques. I have been with AT&T for about 7 years and have never had a problem with customer service, until about 4 years ago when I moved to Dana Point. It seems as though every time I come into this store that no one is willing to help. I am not usually one to complain, but after being disrespected three times in the last few months I had had enough. My first encounter was when I had tried to update my iPhone and my phone told me that it could not read my SIM card. So I thought that I should go to AT&T to replace my SIM card. after waiting patiently behind some customers that were being helped for 25 min. After they had left I walked up to the desk and the employee immediately asks "Is this going to take long?" I was insulted. Not even two weeks ago I had gone in to replace my iPhone charger. I was not greeted nor did anyone ask me if I needed any help finding anything. after searching for ten minutes for the iPhone chargers, I then stood in front of an employee that was at his desk. i waited there for another ten minutes to pay for my charger. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but I think if someone just wants to walk in and walk out quickly without starting a contract that it shouldn't take longer than 5 minutes for the whole process. Now today, I go into AT&T to sign up and get internet. Both employees are helping other people, I walk in and to pass some time while they help I just browse through the store. No one even greets me or tells me that they will be there to help me in a few minutes. after much time had passed i just left. Switched from Verizon to AT&T went to this branch to get set up, they took forever and added an extra line by accident; that shouldn't have happened as It wasn't done over the phone. A year later after all of that was fixed, I placed an order for an Apple Watch to be picked up here. I tried calling to get a status on my order as online it has stated it would be ready within an hour. Over a span of 5 hrs I tried calling and no answer what so ever. I'm very disappointed of this customer service. Sucks because this is the closet one near me. Don't bother wasting your time here, you're better off going to a different branch. read more

Went in very excited to spend $370 and renew a two year contract getting the galaxy note 4. All I wanted to do was play with the stylus (the main selling point of the phone) before I spent all that money. I asked Sandra if she could get us a stylus since they didn't have one in the phone. She laughed while walking away saying someone probably stole it. Okay? So I'm going to spend $400 dollars on a phone and you can't help me out and get a stylus from another box or something.
