After 30+ years of loyalty with ATT, I'm done fighting with them…read more STRIKE 1. My phone had been paid off for a while and needed an upgrade. Was told I could get good trade of $900 on my old so my bill would only go up by $12. Sounds good, I thought. But! My phone trade in is a monthly credit of $25/month over 3 years!! So, if I want credits they pay out through 3 years of my installment payments of $12. Locked in for 3 years! Pay off early and miss the trade credits. Oh, nobody said that part out loud. I always try to pay off balances early, but penalties with ATT. STRIKE 1 STRIKE 2. When I upgraded my phone, I mentioned how my mom has issues with her cell phone and uses it primarily for reading and games. The rep then menioned that I could get a tablet for free since I got the phone. Then said I could forward her phone number to the tablet and use as phone. I thought, perfect! After a week of messing with the tablet I went back to ATT to have them set phone. That's when the other rep said it can't work as a phone. He talked about work arounds. This is for an 85 year old with a brain injury, no work arounds! STRIKE 2 STRIKE 3. Also found out after a couple billing cycles that my tablet wasn't free as rep told me. Its only $240 off the $600 which is given back in monthly credits of $6.68/month over 3 years!! Those 3 years have the remaining installment payments of $34.97/month. Again, pay off tablet early and miss out on credit. STRIKE 3 STRIKE 4. Oh, and there is a $20 service fee/month for the phone line even though the tablet cannot be used as a phone and only used within her apartment wifi. STRIKE 4 Today, I have moved our other 4 lines to a different vendor. Still trying to figure out these 2 that are hung up in 3 year contracts for the $credits. With my husband on disability due to injury this year and being financially responsible for my parents, I manage our budgets closely... no thanks to ATT Corp either.

The area AT&T Store moved into a new building in Heartland Crossing this summer, and offers a wide…read morerange of services. Located across from the Meijer Store, you can only get to it by taking the access road (Heartland Blvd) even though you can see the store from the highway (SR 67). Once there, you can find parking in front of the store with additional parking in the rear. Going inside, I was greeted right away on both of my visits. The staff person who assisted me was very knowledgeable about the different services (phone, cable, internet) and even help me understand a bit about streaming services since I am not the most tech savvy guy. I will say that there is a bit of disconnect between the information the store personnel have and that of the customer service people for AT&T. Both the Manager and the staff person told me about a discount on a premium channel but were unable to set it up for me (which required contact Customer Service). The Customer Service rep let me know that the offer cited by the store was obsolete which is a bit annoying. However, the rep found other discounts that could be offered to offset the lack of the discount I had been promised when I switched from satellite to cable. So, even though it wasn't the quickest and easiest switch over, the folks at the store did a good job (and customer service followed through). Just wish AT&T could get the store information up to speed to avoid the confusion. Side note: If you switch from the satellite (DirecTV) to U-Verse, the store can get you scheduled and signed up, but you still have to cancel the DirecTV on your own. It makes no sense when they are both AT&T companies and share the same billing and Customer Service. Seems like they ought to know that customers don't need both satellite and land lines. Seems like they could have less customer complaints if they did. Review #2937

So we have had issues with our home phone ( landline ) for about a year. I really didn't care about…read morefixing it since most of the calls we get are sales, scams, political or charity all wanting money. It wasn't until it started effecting the WiFi that I cared. I finally called and talked to a guy named Dan. I could tell Dan was sorta a computer geek. He was talking to me about ports, overlapping signals etc... He actually seemed knowable and trustworthy. We have been getting mailers about AT&T doing "Free" upgrades to fiber optics. So decided to up grade which is supposed to get us a better router, multiple signals and faster uploads. Appointment set for a few days after the call between noon and 4 to get it all set up. Supposed to take up to 4 hours. Two days later: Got the call from the tech about 1:05pm he was on his way. About an hour after the tech showed up I got another visitor. A young man who said he was my consultant. So he came in and we set up the Smart Home Manager app. Then he wanted to talk to me about our cellphones. I told him the companies we were with and that we were happy with them. He mentioned free phones and a $$gift card. I said nope wont be changing cell phone carriers. I didn't tell him but I don't believe in giving one company all my business. If that one company has issues then you are screwed. And my WiFi in my car is AT&T and it constantly drops my signal. Right at 4 hours later the tech was done and everything seems to be working. With new technology I didn't have to reset passwords on every item that was connected. That was great. He left behind the old battery backup for the broadband phone. He had to come back in and take photos of the new outlet and I asked him about it. He said it was costing the company too much to dispose of them so they just leave them behind. Im hoping I can at least take the battery someplace to be recycled. So far so good. Time will tell if this was a mistake.

Terrible. I called to cancel my service and the representative (Ashley) tried at least 5 different…read moretimes to sell me other services or alternate services. I was like um, I'm calling to cancel my internet because it's so bad where I live. They don't offer Fiber where I am located (Sobro area). I explained it's been spotty ever since I got it. Finally, I was told I'd have an email with further instruction on equipment return (modem and power cord) within 24 hours. I'm not certain that I'll receive it, but we shall see. If not, I'll be calling AT&T back.
