My dishwasher broke, and I called to see if they could fix it. It cost almost $70 for them to come out and tell me it would be another almost $400 to fix the dishwasher. The technician told me that they would have to completely remove the dishwasher from my counter and disconnect the hose to fix it because one of the plastic parts that had come off had a broken piece lodged in the hose. I ended up having the actual makers of the dishwasher come out and they fixed it without doing any of that. They said the piece wasn't broken and that it had just come out of where it was supposed to be. They fixed it in like 15 minutes. I give them credit for coming out so quickly, but after this experience I'm not sure I trust them. read more

I will not recommend this place unless you would like to be charged a $69 service fee for a 10 minute visit and be cursed when you dispute the charge and their bad-faith attempt at a repair. We have a newborn, so having a washing machine available and running is a priority, as we need to wash cloth daily. Our Miele W1 broke. I explained to the person over the phone that the power for W1 does not turn on. I have tried checking the breaker, and plugging and unplugging does nothing to turn it on. I explained our situation and the importance of getting it fixed immediately. The caller, without hesitation, said they could fix the machine and come the day after. I agreed on the service charge based on that promise. The tech came, did literally what I did by unplugging the machine and plugging it back in. He then said, "Oh, the board is out and needs to be replaced." What I did not know at the time was that he said he didn't have the part to fix the problem and needed to contact a warehouse to get it. He then left after a short 10-minute visit to our place. He said he would contact the warehouse and let us know about the part availability the next day. Behold, he did not give me a call the next day. He did not give us a call until the Miele technician came and fixed the problem eventually. When I called them after the Miele technician came to waive the service charge, the manager argued with me and eventually cursed at us, saying, "This is karma. If you don't want to pay, sure, however, you will pay somewhere else." How about the karma of not following through on your words? How about the karma of charging a service fee of 69 dollars just for a 10-minute visit and never updating us with the parts or an actual quote? I would encourage people in desperate need to have their appliances fixed to look elsewhere. read more

A power surge recently "fried" our over-the-range microwave. We use the device quite often so I wanted to get it fixed or replaced as quickly as possible. Having used Atlantic Appliance Repair twice before and having been very impressed by their work ethic and skill at repairs, I called them. A technician was at our house the same day I called. He was (as expected, based on prior experience) extremely skilled, very personable and wasted no time. He even offered to go purchase a new unit and install it that very afternoon. We took him up on his offer and within a couple of hours we had a perfectly new, functioning microwave above our stove again. And, the price was just what I had calculated based upon ordering from Lowes or Home Depot and having them install the new unit...in other words, the price was very reasonable. While I don't know if Atlantic Appliance Repair can always replace a burnt out appliance this quickly and efficiently, I do know that they are who I will continue to call whenever I have a problem with an appliance. I called them on a Saturday and had a technician inspecting my refrigerator within about 2 hours. The technician (Sonny) immediately diagnosed the problem as a failing evaporator fan unit. He ordered a replacement part, which he had to pick up two days later and installed it. It works perfectly now. He also cleaned the coils and other parts of the refrigerator as a courtesy. Based on the positive reviews here I scheduled to have my refrigerator repaired. I am very pleased. Vic was fantastic. Very polite and very thorough. I had another company look at my fridge years ago and they said nothing could be done about the frozen drain for the frost free freezer. Vic on the other hand crawled behind the narrow space to access the back panel and took the time and effort to clear the frozen drain. I am delighted I do not need to replace my fridge. We recently experienced issues with our very expensive oven. The heating unit stopped working. We purchased our home over 2 years ago and the oven came with the home - previous homeowners purchase, not ours. Like most appliances etc. within the home, previous owner did not keep up with maintenance and assessments of appliances, air conditioning etc.. within the home. Thankfully, our neighbor recommended Atlantic Appliance Repair, as they had issues with their oven as well. Hicham came out to our home and assessed the issue(s) with the oven. He informed us that the heating element did not work and needed to be replaced. I stated that I believed the fan was on the fritz as well and we may need to replace the fan. He was professional, gracious and articulated solutions to me. He stated he will try to get the heating unit etc.. for us but may not be able to. I understood completely due to supply chain issues and that the oven was on the pricer side etc. He informed me he would search around and try to find it. I honestly thought even if they did locate the part(s) we would be looking at months and months to get it. Thankfully, not the case. They identified the part(s) within 2 weeks. Called me and gave me the price for the parts. Ordered them and came out on a Saturday to install. Oven works perfectly now. What would have cost us $$$$$ to replace the oven only cost us a few hundred bucks. Plus, he identified the fan worked - took that off the invoice. It was a pleasure working with Hicham. I appreciated his transparency and follow up. I did not have to chase them down as to status on parts, they contacted me as they stated they would. What a great experience. Our refrigerator didn't seem to be cooling as it should and after trying all the tips Google suggested we knew we needed a pro. The shop was technically closed (this was during the Covid time) but Ravi talked us through a number of "diagnostics" to save us the expense of a visit. After a 24 hour unplug it still wouldn't cool, so he came out to check the systems. It turned out we needed a part which he ran off to get from one of his suppliers (on a weekend). Honest, inexpensive, polite, responsive, and experts in their field. I've tried many appliance repair places in my life. Many will charge you the largest amount possible and are of marginal competence, especially the larger companies, who seem to hire anybody off the street to do their work. Not these guys. They have been unfailingly honest and the least expensive I have worked with. For example, today is New Year's Eve, and when we got home this afternoon, I discovered that our furnace was blowing cool air and the temperature in the house was gradually dropping on a day when the outside temps are in the teens. After futilely fumbling around to troubleshoot the 15-year-old furnace myself, I called Atlantic, and within a few hours, they came and assessed the situation. Only the cleaning of a sensor and the interior of the furnace were required -- no new parts, and no extra fee for "emergency" service, because I'm a regular customer (this is my third time using them). I'm pretty sure that if I'd used one of the "big boy" repair companies, they would have gladly swung by, charged me $200+ for an emergency repair, and replaced various parts unnecessarily -- or maybe even recommended replacing the whole furnace, since it isn't implausible to think that it would fail at its advanced age. I thanked the repair guy profusely for his help and honesty. He said that communicating well with customers and being honest helps you sleep at night because your conscience is clear.
