Best seafood I've had in years! The stuffed scallops were fabulous! My friend order the crab imperial and said it was the best she ever had. So much food we had to take some home. I ate it the next day and enjoyed it just as much. We live in Leesburg, but plan on driving up to Urbana for seafood from now on. Prices were reasonable as well. This place is great for a meal that you know is going to be good every time. They have great prices for lunch, you can get a meal with an app and a main course and be out for under $20. I'm totally obsessed with their crab bisque, I get it every time I go!! The atmosphere is great, although sometimes the bar can get a little loud. Here you have a neighborhood style bar/restaurant in a strip center in the middle of a brand new development. We stopped in for a late lunch and sat at the bar. It was kinda noisy but it was an NFL playoff game day. Some of the patrons had spent a fair amount of time there that day but I digress. Staff was very competent & friendly. I had the steak & onions (think small cheese steak sub) with fries. My girlfriend had a house salad & hummus. Everything was delicious and served quickly. Not sure about the bad reviews - maybe we caught them on a good day? If we ever find our way to Urbana again we'll be sure to stop in. read more

Went to AG to celebrate my daughter's 5th grade graduation, particularly because she wanted to try calamari for the first time. We checked the lunch menu before visiting and thought the options and pricing were very good. All employees were especially nice, very professional, and perfectly attentive. The calamari was delicious! My daugter wasn't completely sold on it, but my mother & I loved it. The meals we ordered, 2 chicken Chesapeake and a soup & sandwich combo, were served just as we were finishing the calamari. My mother substituted Brussels sprouts for fries on her order, we were happy to be told that wasn't a problem at all. The way the sprouts was unique and they had some delicious sauce or seasoning on them that my mom insisted I try as well. They were so good, I attempted to recreate them for my dinner that night. My cream of crab soup was ridiculously delicious. The chicken Chesapeake was very well-prepared with a nice chicken to crab to cheese ratio for maximum flavor. My husband and I have been to AG a few times before but after our last two underwhelming experiences we will not be back. The good news is tht AG does three things right, fresh yeast bread with warm butter, a nice bar area and freshly brewed iced tea. Other than that be prepared for disappointment. The cream of crab soup is full of salt, nutmeg and cream with a few small pieces of crab. My husband had two bites and refused to eat the rest.. The tomato based crab soup tastes like it came from a can and again it had just small amounts of crab. We received our second course and sadly the disappointments continued. Our drinks were refilled once and two of the three entree came out wrong. We ordered the French dip, chicken Marsala and a burger. The French dip has potential, the bread seemed fresh, but the meat and au ju were so salty it completely overwhelmed the sandwich. We ordered sweet potatoe fries, but it came out with regular fries. We sent it back to get the right side. The chicken marsala came with two pieces of chicken which were pounded and breaded. The sauce was more of a Marsala paste ( it looked like applesauce) that was spread on top. We just scraped it off and ate the chicken which was cooked nicely without being too dry. There burger was fine, except we asked for cheese, mushrooms and onions and it came out plain. Our waitress took it back to the kitchen to add the extra toppings and it still didn't have the mushrooms. We ate what we could of our food, paid the check and vowed to never return. Overall, the waitresses here have always been very kind, but in my opinion under trained. Our server wrote everything down and repeated it back so we don't fault her for the mistakes that we're made. In my opinion, if AG wants to stay open, then the management and owners need to step up, retrain the staff, obtain new recipes and hire chefs/ line cooks. read more

My co-worker told me about this place, first order to go was wrong and I was irritated at myself for not checking my bag prior to leaving. I convinced myself to go back for the cream of crab soup I initially ordered and to my edification, it was exactly what I imagined, taste bud wise, the base is strong and price is reasonable. The only feedback would be to add more crabmeat. Otherwise this is a delicious treat for myself after a long day of work. More of a 3.5-4; it is solid overall. Good service, convenient. Great pizza. We go there regularly and stick with the foods we know they do well- hummus is fantastic. Burgers, Atlantic Delight Sandwich, French Dip all good. Haven't had many entrees but did like the Prime Rib. They have good specials, like half price wine night. Disappointing lunch. This was my first time here, and it will be my last. My daughter order Mac and Cheese for lunch, which looked and tasted like the cheapo boxed stuff you can buy at any grocery store, for which they charged a substantially un-cheapo price. I ordered from their lunch menu, but they wouldn't allow me to switch out the fries on my plate for a small salad or cole slaw, which was available with other lunch combos. My sandwich, a "TLT" (turkey) featured chipotle mayo, but still was the blandest thing I've ever tried. I have eaten here several times when I am passing through Urbana and it is consistently good food. Some of my favorites have been the flat breads - especially the seafood flat bread - and the tomato and mozzarella (I add grilled chicken). If you are a sandwich person like me - ask for the Atlantic Grille delight. It wasn't on the menu last time I went, but I asked if they still made it and they did. Basically deli meat or chicken (I prefer deli turkey) covered in melted cheese and crab dip. SO GOOD. They also cater parties as a friend had her baby shower catered through here with small sandwiches, crab dip, and hummus/flat bread and it was a hit. The bottom line is, if you're looking to have a great meal, try a different change of pace from the typical chain restaurant, and support small, local, family owned businesses - then this is a great place to start. read more

What is there to say about another bland entry into the restaurant world in Suburbia? Not much. Atlantic Grille is a typical restaurant that preys upon unsuspecting patrons who live in the suburbs and are either bored with the weak choices of dining that exist or are too lazy to drive to DC or Baltimore (like I was on Saturday). Much like Mangi y Bevi tries to pass itself off as an authentic Italian bistro, Atlantic Grille tries to pass itself off as an upscale seafood house. Both fail miserably, but both are popular and well liked which is more of an indictment of the patrons than the restaurants themselves. We started with the crab dip appetizer which was essentially cream cheese with streaks of crab meat in it, served piping hot but that turned into a tepid glue within minutes. My wife ordered the salmon dinner. The house salad was nothing one could not have made at home, the fish while moist lacked any real flavor except for the mustard sauce that drenched it. The fries were standard fare. The cole slaw a gloppy mess that had far too much dressing on it. I ordered the BLT (I know BLT at a seafood place? I just had a craving for one). The BLT was exceptionally anemic consisting of two slices of bacon, wilted lettuce, and a grainy tomato. A real BLT has fresh ingredients and enough bacon to make a second sandwich. My daughter ordered the filet mignon sandwich. Again tired fries accompanying an incorrectly cooked piece of meat. Ironically, the server was a fan of rare meat having grown up on a farm. That is how my daughter likes her steak and burgers, rare. What she got was a chewy piece of meat cooked on the side of medium well with hints of pink here and there. The service was very good. Our server was attentive and efficient and regularly checking on us to see if we needed anything. Overall, this place is quite pricey especially for the lackluster quality food it serves. Maybe we suburbanites will wise up one day and expect more from area restaurants. read more

My fiance tried AG a few times right when it opened. He began loving it, but then things just got progressively worse. After a few months we went together, sat at the bar, and I ordered a glass of wine and must have gotten a three oz pour for $7 (?). Anyway, went to the bathroom and it was filthy, so we decided to leave without ordering food. Went back a few weeks ago at the request of his cousin, and actually had a decent meal (could have been because we had already had at few drinks at Dutches Daughter and were STARVING by the time we got to AG.) i had the Atlantic salad and he had the sub club. We went back last night because we were again, with the same cousin, pressed for time, and wanted to eat close to home. We were EXTREMELY disappointed. I ordered the same salad, and it was nothing like last time. They gave me a very small tail end piece of salmon on my salad and the seasoning was off, and all the skin was left on. fiancee got the chicken cordon bleu sandwich at the recommendation of the waitress and said it was awful. (In her defense, she was brand new.) Chicken finger app was greasy and standard, and my fiancees cousin got penne vodka, which he said had no flavor whatsoever. They also charged him $4.99 to add a house salad on to his entree!! When you are paying $15 for a crappy pasta entree you should at LEAST get a house salad to go with it. They also charged my fiancee 49 cents to "add onion" to his sandwich...they were raw onion slices added to a plate with lettuce and tomato...they really had to charge him for that? They also screwed up the happy hour drink prices and when i questioned them about it they refused to change the bill. Let me point out this review is not about the prices...we have no problem paying a lot for a great meal. We always have amazing food and service at Firestone's...but when we are paying a lot for food I wouldnt serve in my own home...then we have problems. Food OK if you get what you order and the order is taken properly, but there is a habit of servers trying to do the "I'm so veteran I don't need to write your order down"...Inevitably, the order is not placed or the good comes out incorrectly. Scenario: THE ONLY customers in the restaurant on a Saturday morning, the waitress takes our orders verbally and lo and behold, the simplest order, a pizza, can't make it out of the kitchen in a timely fashion. Eat at your own risk, and if you get your food in a timely fashion and your order is not forgotten, consider yourself lucky. I did get a free drink out of it, but I'm hungry as hell. read more

I wanted *badly* to love this place. It is clean, pretty table cloths, smiling staff that greets you when you arrive. Our server was friendly taking our order and answered all of our questions. The food took quite some time to arrive. My burger was cooked just the way I ordered it- still pink! I thought that was a very good sign. I paid extra for sweet potato fries and they came out cold. The server took them back for me. I expected new fries, THEY REHEATED THEM! Holy moly, I do not go to a "nice" restaurant for reheated food. Then I found some hard substance in my burger. I do not know what it was (probably something from the meat I am hoping).... I kind of was turned off by the whole experience after that. The server took the fries off the bill, but I kind of feel like I should have just gone to Red Robin. I am so sad to say that! Server took way too long on refilling beverages/checking in on things. Nice, casual place in Urbana. We came in as a party of four on a Sunday and sat in the dining room. Dining room is spacious and decor is modern. We ordered the crab pretzel which was ok, the pretzel center was a little cold but the rest of the pretzel and cheesy crab topping was very good. My in-laws liked the french onion soup. My father-in-law and I ordered the chicken Chesapeake which taste exactly like I would expect it to taste, and it was rather large so I boxed up half to take home. We also had sweet potato fries on the side which were excellent and tasty. The balsamic dressing (house) was tasty and the salad is chopped up well, so no awkward large lettuce bites :) and the croutons were buttery! My husband had the double crab cakes, coleslaw, and sweet potato fries which he thought was good for the price, but smaller and wetter than what we are use to in Baltimore. My mother-in-law had the Reuben sandwich, she said the meat was a little dry but was not chewy and the french fries are the good double-fried deli fries. We came here because we had a coupon, but the prices were very reasonable and we'll definitely be back for a family meal again. I was happy to support local, Towson alum business owners! read more
