Buyer Beware: the sales team is great... but the business/finance dept. in charge of applications and contracts is SHADY (Jorge). He will sell you car options you don't need without fully disclosing that you may not need them, cause the car already comes with viable options. I had the horrible experience recently. When the underwriter got called out, they acted as if they had no clue I didn't need the option. Never apologized, very dismissive attitude... truly not a good look considering the sales staff/car consultants are great. Just beware of the finance office there. This dealer is a fraud. They post ads through CarGurus and their own website for a 2019 Tesla model 3 that the car has automatic lane change and self park which are the two features only available in the Full Self Driving package ($7000 option). When I came to check the car and asked for a test drive to check these features the rep said this car is not allowed for test drive and I asked why and was told it's a luxury car. I pointed out that they have much more expensive cars in the lot like Toyota highlanders suv and he said he was told by the manager as such. I also pointed out to him that this car does not have 20" wheel as advertised. The wheels are 19"! Another guy came and said we will edit the ads and I just checked again not only they have not corrected their listing they posted another ad thru cargurus with the same info. I want everyone to know my experience with Atlantic Toyota since buying a 2017 Tacoma. I had issues with the radiator over a few instances. The 3rd time Toyota sent a factory rep down to Atlantic Service and my claim was denied for what I thought would be just another warranty claim. I was on the hook for a very expensive repair of 2200 dollars. I made phone calls and pleaded my case and the Owner of Atlantic Toyota called me up at work and said he would eat the bill. This is above and beyond what I would expect. Denied from the factory only to have the owner say, " I will take care of it". I have bought three Tacomas at Atlantic and I will be buying my 4th there and continue to do business with Atlantic. You just don't get that type of valued customer service anymore. read more

Terrible. My wife bought a brand new 2018 Camry back in April 2018. Way over paid for the car. Had to take it in over the summer because the sun roof ended up being defective. All of a sudden, yesterday her radio won't turn off. Everything in the car is draining the battery. We take it to Toyota hoping to find some help. But no they are trying to say this is our fault. We are still under warranty and they won't even give us a rental car because they think we had something to do with it. So disappointing. We both have full time jobs. We really want our car fixed . I figured since we paid 40,000 for a brand new Toyota Camry , they would take care of us. Save yourself the headache, do NOT buy your car here! read more

had a good experience buying a used car here. I made sure no funny business. we settled on an "all in price" up front. Make sure it includes, taxes 6.25%, registration $25, title $75, and inspection sticker $35, and the stupid junk doc fees $200. i came in with check and that was it. there were no surprises which was good cause i told them i would walk if there were surprises. they even threw in free car mats. happy customer. read more

I wrote a negative review of Atlantic Toyota about a year ago after a sales manager gave me the run around. He actually lied to me and told the that the hub caps on my car could not be removed. That fact was that he could not remove them, I easily did. Underneath the hub caps are stylish alloy wheels. Anyway, they cried and had my review removed. Maybe because I called them out and they didn't like it. Note that I had bought three cars from them. I went in to trade in my current car and was told by Clyde, the salesman, that his sales manager remembered me from the previous incident and they he not welcome my business. Nice job. If you can buy the car you want anywhere else you should. The salesman who worked with me here didn't know anything about the car I was interested in (a Prius), and he didn't know answers to most of my questions about purchasing the car when I did decide to buy it. He had me come back the following day and when I did I brought the check and information they requested, but I wasn't able to get the car that day either, so I was stranded in Lynn. My one star here is a shout out to the finance and title guy who helped me and got me a rental car for the weekend since they had jerked me around so much. I appreciated that, even if it did take so long to get a straight answer that I wasn't able to leave town. The issue wasn't the car here - and in the internet age we pretty much shop for them online anyway. The issue was that once I arrived, and they realized I wasn't buying new, I knew what I wanted and wouldn't be talked into something more expensive, and that I wasn't getting financing through them, they essentially treated me like crap, never giving me a straight answer and even, at one point, laughing at my situation just outside the office I was sitting in trying to give them a lot of money. Atlantic Toyota took care of the situation and their "Property Tax" additional bill is actually for the City "Excise Tax", as it is still their property. This whole thing could have been clarified when I leased the vehicle. I have leased from other dealers and I paid Excise Tax to the city. Well, it appears that I might be the only one who has had a positive experience at this car dealership. Here's my story: My 12 year old car was falling apart and every month for quite a few months needed a few hundred dollars worth of repairs. So, it seemed cheaper to buy a new (used) car. I hate dealerships because of everything everyone has mentioned in their reviews... but after scouring cars.com, craigslist and every other website for used cars, I could not find a newish Toyota Corolla. My always helpful mechanic recommended this dealer and salesman Mike. With much cynicism, my husband and I trudged over there. But, not without ample preparation: Atlantic's website listed at least 5 Corollas (including the carfaxes) with prices slightly below the blue book value. I printed the listings and the kbb values. I got pre-approved for a loan at AAA and brought the email with the rate. We test drove two of the cars and bought one. Before we could negotiate, he came down on the price. It was more than fair, so we bought it. They also gave us a reasonable trade in offer, so we got rid of the old civic too. If you go here, ask for Mike. And, go armed with information on exactly what you want. I think it was clear that I was an informed consumer and knew what I wanted and maybe that helped. I was here two years ago looking for a car with my ex g/f at the time. I worked with a friend who previously worked here and he recommended I talk to one of the managers. I approached the manager and he looked at me and pretty much blew me off as if my business doesn't matter. I politely told him "good day". One year later a drunk driver crashed on the curb and flipped onto three of the cars in this Toyota lot. The drunk driver ruined over 5+ cars. That's karma and that's me laughing. read more

The service department is a joke. I am not one to complain much, but these people are very unprofessional! I go to change a tire and they scratch the side of my new car (which they said they would fix but never bothered to follow up with me on it). The mechanic also left dirty grease stains inside. Then I go to fix a dealer installed remote starter and they break something else. Forget about contacting the service dept mgr - Peter Carey - he is M.I.A. and doesn't return calls or emails. The buying experience was equally unprofessional with the sales man asking for $50 as a friendly gesture. Who does that!?!?!! Then had the audacity to tell my friends and family to buy cars there. If this review deters at least one customer from buying or servicing their car there - I've done my job. read more

If I could give this place less than one star, I would! I have only dealt with their service department, but have never in my life encountered anyone in the customer service industry as rude as Peter, their service manager. I took my old Toyota in or a cooling system problem (after 6 trips to Sears for the same issue), they claimed to have found the problem, and I happily paid to have it fixed. 3 days later, on a country road in Vermont, my car overheats again. I had already made a down-payment on a new car someplace else and was to get $500 on the trade-in for my Toyota. The tow back to Boston would have cost more than the trade-in amount, and it was a holiday, with no Toyota dealer nearby. We ended up scrapping the car and renting one, which was the solution with the least financial impact: losing $500 on my trade-in, the $240 I paid for the repair, and the $250 for the rental car. I left a voicemail with Peter and he did not return my phone call. When I went to speak with him in person, he didn't offer to work with me to find an acceptable resolution, and he was not only extremely rude and stand-off-ish to me, but he was extremely rude to my mother as well. I have never met anyone in the customer service industry as rude as this jerk. The work done included no parts, only labor. I asked for my money back (as their work is "guaranteed") and he was only willing to return half - very begrudgingly. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, writing a letter to the owner/manager of this Toyota location, and sending a letter to the VP of Service for Toyota USA. I can't recommend against this place enough. Take your Toyota elsewhere. NOTE: Those of you who are unhappy with businesses you deal with should file complaints against them with the BBB. Atlantic Toyota has had only 4 complaints filed against them and I know they have a lot more unhappy customers than that. These jerks have an A+ rating from the BBB that they don't deserve. The people at this dealership have always been very nice, but each time my husband has brought our vehicle in here to do any service outside of an oil change the car has come back with something else wrong. This time was the worst. The car came back with the heat shield blatantly ripped downward exposing the exhaust and it was completely bent. I would not recommend getting your car serviced here ever. read more

Terrible service. Every time I make a regular service appt, I have to wait over 3 hours. For a simple service appt! Nonetheless, I have been a loyal customer of Atlantic Toyota since I moved to Massachusetts from Carolina 2 years ago since it is located 10 mins away from me. After another 6 months of service, I was given a $800 quote on Bridgestone tires in October. However, when i came the first week of November price with installation became $1034. I said that Costco was charging about $700 for the identical tires and I wondered if Atlantic Toyota could give me a discount. They said they would give me a $60 discount. The discount was small but I value my time so I got my credit card out to pay $1034 to get done with it. However, Atlantic Toyota service man told me that since they were giving me a $60 discount, they would not give me a car for a day to drive to work and I have to pay $35 for renting it. Seriously?! This was the last drop. I was ready to spend over $1000 on tires at Atlantic Toyota but they really dont care about their customers. It was the last time I step my foot there. Yesterday I went to Costco and they installed the same set of tires for $645. Well let's face it. These Salespersons are there just to make their SALES COMMISSIONS. They want to put you into the most EXPENSIVE vehicle you can afford & negotiate. Atlantic Toyota has been going down the tubes for several years. The management there put such pressure on the sales staff that many just walk out the door because they just can't live up to the sales numbers management put forth. Enter now the customer like me. I had a certain price & mileage in mind but they never had what I wanted. So I went to leave. Did you ever see a Sales person cry? They beg you to the point you are compelled to look at even more cars that are out of your budget. Just like the saleman from Sears years ago selling vacuum cleaners. My car was services as requested. I come here often but always leave and question why i return. I laways leave feeling a little bad - never good or hapoy. They always check over my car and the service is about $35. Today, I got the same service for around $56. I'm not sure the charges for service are clearly explained prior to service. Also, my car has a full warranty yet I have had to have my car serviced elsewhere as they often do not have the parts for my Nissan. One time i had to go to Goodyear and spend $200 because they refused to fix my warrantied tire sensor statng i need to go to Toyota. Total run around! They sold me the car and the warranty but have failed to honor the warranty continuously. I did have a problem with the springs in the car I purchased immediately after purchasing the car. They fixed the car free of charge and then fixed it for free the next time I had the same problem (generous yet I probably should not have had the same exact problem twice on a car I had for a year.) Shady but not nearly as shady as their neighbor dealership, Pride. The lesser of two evils! read more

Absolute worst service ive ever received. Purchased a used car and the person who helped me never answered any of my calls. I finally got in touch with him and we went through with the deal. ONE DAY after driving my car and the tire pressure light went on even after they said they ran every check and made sure everything was up to date. I made an appointment and came back to get it checked out and i waited 2.5 hours for something as simple as a tire pressure light to be checked. READ THIS BEFORE BUYING A CAR HERE.... I went into this place with my wife looking for a 2nd car. We took a test drive and then went inside to see what the price was. Meanwhile, we had googled car prices and had an idea that the car should cost between $8000-10,000. The dealer quoted me at $12,900. No way, and we left. The manager then chased after our car before we left the lot and tried to convince me that it's a $12900 car even when I told him that the car was shown online as $8000-9000. He wouldn't even negotiate and we left. That night, my wife was online and found the exact car that we test drove on Atlantic's website for $8700!!! I texted the salesman that we talked to and he said that was the online price. What's the difference? Why is there a $4000 difference between their website and what the dealer is quoting me in person for the SAME CAR? They said they'd "honor the $8700 price" since that's what I saw online but that's very sketchy. These guys clearly sized me up in the dealership and thought they could get away with a higher price than the car is worth. Purchased a 2013 equinox with 60,000 miles 3 weeks ago and have already had issues. Took it in to have ac fixed (it was cold when I tested it so the air felt cold) and they said they recharged it but it didn't have a leak, if it needs to be recharged that means THERES A LEAK. Back washer fluid wouldn't spray so I took it back again, after sitting for 3 hours I finally asked what was taking so long and they said they fixed the back but now the front isn't working and they have to ship it to Chevy and now I have no clue what is going on with my car. Jorge in The finance department also didn't note on my contract that I put down a down payment and the other financial manager tried to get me to pay ANOTHER down payment. I havent bad this car even a month and just so many avoidable issues. Financial department needs to slow down, check their work and make sure everything is there. Bait and switch is alive and well at this dealership. My Tundra is coming off lease and I am looking to replace it with a new one. Turns out there is a lease special on the Tundra I'm looking for. I called dealership and told them what I was looking for, to include body style and color. Guy says come on down and fill out the paper work. Sounds good, right? I said, "look, I'm a busy guy to have the truck or not?" He says he'll call me back. 20 min later he says we can have it here in 2 days. Great. Not. I drive 45 min to the dealership - no truck now, in 2 days or next month!!! What? I called the Sales Manger out for engaging in deceptive trade practices. So he suggests getting in a different model. We leased a 4runner here about 3yrs ago. It took 4hrs!!!! Of course we did some negotiating but everytime he had to check with the manager, we were sitting there for 20minutes only to find him come back without the answer we wanted. I would ask, how much for our trade in? He would leave and 20minutes later have a Highlander pulled around front for us to test drive. So, at the end of the lease, because we positive equity in our car, we thought about leasing a Highlander because it made more sense and take that equity as a downpayment on a new one. It was signficantly more expensive so we declined. $600/month for a Toyota???? yeah, right. We then decided to buy it. They didnt like that. That would mean no sale for them. So they wasted another 1.5hrs doing God knows what only to tell us that we would lose our car for 2wks because of Title transfer and other crap. Then they seemed irritated because we werent going to buy one off the lot. So they conjured up enough professionalism to rent us a low cost vehicle in the meantime. RENT? Wow, talk about losing a customer. I talked to the right person in Toyota finance and he fixed it without a problem. No wait time, no giving up the car. So, now we have to return to get out new plates. While there, my wife decided that we should just get an oil change because it needed it. 3 HOURS later, they returned the vehicle. The plate change took 15minutes. They of course blamed it on the recall. We called with an appointment 2 wks ago! I will not be returning to the dealership ever! Really annoying. Average wait time for the oil changes done over the 3yr period: 2hrs 15minutes. Also, apparently our brakes are below the lowest point and need to be changed immediately! It was unsafe to drive with the brakes that bad. I was just at IRA Toyota for the 30k tune up(now has 33k) and they said we had 50% left on the brakes and it was ok for another 15k miles or so. I wish I could give this place two reviews, one for the salesmen and one for the service. The service department deserves many more stars. They are all excellent employees, they were quick and polite and overall I had a great experience. The salesmen, on the other hand, are on the opposite end of the spectrum. Imagine Gil from the Simpsons. Or any used car salesman stereotype. That's pretty much what you get here. The salesmen avoid direct questions, say they're being honest when really they're giving you the run-around, and are kind of sketchy. The man who sold me my car was unprofessional as well. He kept saying that he was new on the job and using that as an excuse to mess everything up (even my insurance agent complained about that to me). Between the first day stuff and him dropping references to him and his ex wife having mental issues, it seemed like he was trying to guilt us into a sale more than anything else. I would have looked past the sketchiness and unprofessional comments, but the thing that really made me hate this place was the way this salesman treated me. One of my friends came along to look at the car before I bought it, and she pulled me aside to say how she couldn't believe how much the salesman spoke down to me. I may be a female but I was giving him a sale -- and he treated me like an idiot. Oh, and I called him over a week ago about an issue with the car and he still hasn't called back. Luckily the amazing people in the Service dept. came to the rescue and fixed it all up for me. read more

The dismal reviews here are pretty accurate. I've had the displeasure of dealing with both the sales and the service department. I can't decide which one was worse. The sales department LIES and tells you all sorts of stuff that isn't true. I would HIGHLY recommend coming in with your own financing before coming to this dealer. The service department has a serious communication problem. They don't tell you anything at all and when you ask nobody knows or cares enough to help you. I am in the market for a new vehicle and decided to give this place a second shot. This time they didn't want to bother with me at all because I asked them to beat another dealers price. I bought a Camry at the beginning of 2019 from a different Toyota dealership but I take my car to Atlantic to get serviced. My interactions with them has been nothing short of fantastic. They always treat me very well. Janette helped me on my last visit and she was awesome. I have full coverage on my tires and rims but they couldn't find the policy in the system. She took pictures of my tires and once we found the policy she followed up with me and helped me make another appointment. Review applies to service department. Went in for two recalls. Service advisor emerged from garage with list of recommended repairs totaling over $2500. He was especially insistent on selling rear brake repairs, repeatedly mentioning that pad linings had worn to 1mm. I refused repair and a few days later pulled the wheels off and had a look at the brake pads. They had 6 or 7 mm of lining on them, about half worn. this is just flat out crooked or dishonest. Second, as if above was not enough. ad visor pointed out (correctly) that a rear sway bar link was broken. I authorized repair ($250 or so). A few minutes later, he came back to say they had discovered the other of the two links was also broken. The item in question has a threaded stud that sticks through a plate on the car and has a couple of rubber washers on it and a nut. The lower (broken off) end of the stud, rubber washer, and nut were gone;, having fallen off the car when the stud broke. They showed me the second one. and amazingly, the tech had the lower half in his hand. The break was clean shiny metal, with no dirt or rust and was obviously a recent break. I strongly suspect they put a wrench on the nut and broke the other link in order to sell another $250 repair. I had to agree. What else could I do? I would avoid this service department except for recalls. Go to a trusted independent service facility. read more

Jack in the Finance departments was pleasant and knowledgable. The entire experience was not what I had expected. It was a refreshing change. I bought a used Camry which is fine. The problem is the salesman promised me 2 items I asked for. An "owners manual" that was not in glovebox and a set of "toyota wheel covers" (they had no name covers on them). Please note the wheel covers go on steel wheels, so they are not costly and an owners manual should be a no brainer. So I took his word for it, he told me to give him 2 weeks. When I called after three weeks he told me I would have to go on the internet and buy owners manual myself as well as pay for the "toyota branded covers" which should have been on in the first place. Do not trust unless in writing. So for 2 items promised that there cost would have been under $25 or $30 they lost me and anyone I speak to about this. read more
