Awful experience. Came to this restaurant for a birthday dinner. 6 girls. Our server was Wesley took our order promptly and got our drinks very fast. Then we waited a total of 2 hours for our food to come out. Tables that arrived after us got their food, dessert and paid their bill before we received our entree. We asked our server more than once about the wait on our food and he would respond with a mere "sorry not sure". After about 1.5hrs of our wait we said this is getting ridiculous and the server responded "I know I've been fighting in the kitchen for you guys" which is a really awkward and weird response. What does that mean? Did they lose our order? Why is this an issue of "fighting for us"? This made us feel very uncomfortable. I'm not sure if this was another issue with prejudices or judging us but we were treated differently than other table. After we finally received our order the food was cold and tasteless. Not worth $50-60 a plate. We alerted our server to the cold food and he did not comp all the cold disappointing food. To end the meal the server offered the birthday girl a comped dessert however when we received the bill the dessert was not comped. We alerted the server yet again and we given a shallow luke warm apology. Never again will dine in and please do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO. read more

The Atlantis Steakhouse is a really upscale restaurant; the decor and attention to details (fresh flowers, rose petals on the table) were so lovely. The food was a different story. It was an our first time there, so we wanted to try several items. We had the escargot, which wasn't whole snails, more like bits and pieces. But it's smothered in butter, so it wasn't too bad. The abalone was very good, but again, battered and smothered in butter, what's not to like? One of us ordered the steak Diane, which was a great presentation, but the meat became overcooked. Another of us ordered the filet and lobster tail, which seemed to be the best meal of the night. The lobster was cooked well, the filet a nice medium rare. We also had the half rack of lamb which was raw, had to send it back unfortunately, and then it was just ok. It was missing most of the sides that came with the original dish, the carrot puree, the micro greens. It wasn't a good order, was fatty and really small pieces. The creamed spinach was good, but again, butter and cream? How can you go wrong? We think the best part was the salad, the blue cheese dressing was amazing. We'd probably try again for a special occasion, since it was a $400 bill without any booze. Yikes! read more

Had a birthday dinner here and absolutely loved the food and experience. Seated at a spacious and comfortable white booth with our name and a pretty rose at the table. The ambiance was lovely. Our server and also the back waiter were fantastic.. excellent service all around. For our meal we started with the clam chowder(to die for) and the salmon won ton app which reminded me of a sushi/egg roll combo(this was actually one of my favorite parts of the dinner) and for the main dish I had the table side steak Diane. Wow was that fun to have everything cooked next to you! We had leftovers. Included in our to go bag were two cakes for dessert. Can't wait to return. read more

Valentine's Day at the Altantis Steakhouse did not disappoint. One of the best meals we've had and service was amazing. We had the Valentines's Day special which featured the Ceviche, Duck Salad, Chateaubriand and for dessert Panna Cotta. It was delicious. We loved the atmosphere and ambience of this restaurant. At the end of the evening we are treated with a Thank You bag with a coffee cake. We will be back soon to try the regular menu. And I'll continue on with my review. read more

A whole six weeks later and I am still excited about this restaurant! It was an experience that me and my wife will remember for a long time. My son was in Reno for the week and we had not seen him for about eight months so I decided to take him to a nice dinner. Little did I know that we would end up closing the place! As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a very friendly and accommodating host. He seated us and immediately we were engaged with Ariana, our wonderful waitress. Throughout the evening she provided great service, nice suggestions and had just the right amount of presence. You know, where they are around when you need them and are not intruding when they do inject that personal touch. Every course from french onion soup or salad, to the main course to the brulee and the wonderful coffee tasted as though it was crafted to accommodate us! Pandemic or not, the steak house at the Atlantis is the best restaurant I have been to in years. My husband had the prime rib and I had the blackened king salmon. Not only was the food fantastic but the service was impeccable. Our server's name was Allan, and he was very professional yet friendly and just outstanding in every. My husband and I have been to a couple of steakhouse in Reno, but Atlantis beats them all. We recently moved to Reno from CA. Therefore, we are very spoiled in CA with an abundance of steakhouses to choose from. Interior: We didn't know what to expect. We assumed that this steakhouse is similar to any other steakhouse in a smoke-filled casino. My husband doesn't care about interior design or the decor, but I do! The entrance to the restaurant is beautiful. You will see a tall pretty saltwater tank in front of you with fishes that are alive. The restaurant was empty for a Thursday night. *We need to get used to living in Reno where we don't need to wait 2-3 hours to be seated at a restaurant. We were greeted and seated right away. Service: Our waiter was Tim and he was amazing. He was attentive, but not overly. He made us feel like we were his only table even though he had 3-4 other tables. We splurged on Easter dinner 2020 at this steakhouse. We were a group of 6 families. Service was great, unfortunately the filet mignon I ordered medium rare was too red. I didn't want to wait for another one as I don't mind having it rare anyway but it was chewy. I couldn't even finish 8 oz. Both my sons had medium rare too but theirs were good. Hubby ordered the lamb special and said it was satisfying. Escargot was overcooked, oyster Rockefeller was good though. Crab bisque was too salty but I hear the Lobster bisque was spot on. read more

I found this steakhouse to be very average. So much so that I would label it below average. Maybe my expectations were set to high??? Server was Boring to say the least!!! The gentlemen helping him example: setting the table, getting our water, and bussing was actually way better then the server himself. I found him to be more interested in us then the server by far. Kudos to him. Food: the opening bread was delicious. The steak was just alright... the potatoes we ordered were so bland. Our spinach salad was fun to watch be prepared, but again the overall service was lacking tremendously. Dessert: the chocolate layered cake excited me until we tasted it. The cake tasted dry and possibly old. The berries were warm when I thought the should be cold. The lacking service is what really shocked me. I have been to the Peppermill steakhouse many times. We went there on the 27th for a date night, I'll be honest even from the start of my visit to the casino I was not happy. I found one of the bars to sit at to wait for my wife and ordered a drink. I was one out of 3 people at the bar as soon as I took one drink lower the glass the bartend told me to put on my mask. We went to another bar that only had one person at it with 3 bartenders. We stood there for about 10 minutes before the bartender asked if we needed anything else, I told them they hadn't even taken a order from us. We finally got our drinks and went to a very secluded area of this bar/ restaurant kinda in its only room to have a drink while waiting for our reservations. While sitting there talking while drinking a casino employee wondering the floor walked up to us and told us to put on our masks, I get it in these times but I feel like they were going out of their way to pester you when your not around anyone. I wanted leave and not go to the steakhouse but we ended up going. The steakhouse set us early but after all the pestering about masked we were put at a table that was all but elbow to elbow to the table behind and to the side of us, after all the mask comments earlier I thought this was interesting. Our waiter was a nice enough guy and I don't want this to sound bad but his accent was so think we couldn't even understand the specials they had that night. We wanted to order wine but the only wine list they had was on a iPad that was not user friendly. Their wine employee came over to try to help with our selection, to be honest though what he suggested comparing it to the wine we wanted wasn't even close. The steaks we got were well cooked, tasted good and even came with sides which seems to be rare anymore with steakhouses so that was nice. The banana fosters was done table-side and also was good. Other then the communication issue with the server every time he walked by he was filling my wife's glass even though it was full for a wineglass. As we were finishing up with our banana fosters the waiter walked over and poured the wine that was left in the bottle into our glasses, probably 3 or so glasses worth taking the bottle with him. I spent a lot of money on that wine and what we hadn't drank with dinner should've been corked and sent home with us. Over all the experience with both casino staff and restaurant staff I would not recommend this place and I will not be going back.b read more

We went to Biminis Steakhouse the night before and thought it was really good. We chose Atlantis Steakhouse for my girlfriends birthday dinner and this place just blew our minds. Joseph and Karla were our servers and they went above and beyond. We mentioned that it was my girlfriends birthday when asked the reason for this visit. They served us a baked Alaska for dessert and packed us their coffee cakes to go! Both were delicious. The Shrimp scampi made at our table side was super dope! I really can't say enough about this place. This was our first time in the Atlantis resort but every time we come back to Reno, Atlantis steakhouse will be our must go dinner spot. read more

Got the foie gras here which wasn't composed very thoughtfully imho (very soft bread way too much foie poor sear not enough of the fruit sauce). But I thought, let's try it. Here's the kicker: One piece was fine and the rest was inedible, extremely bitter and metallic for no reason. I have been eating this dish my whole life and have never had an experience this bad with foie gras. Still, everything else was good and the service was friendly. Table side ice cream was wonderful. This is perhaps the most elegant steakhouse we have in Reno! I love the decoration! Look at the pictures I post with this review! I came here with my special one for Valentine's Day and we had the best experience! I called a week earlier to make reservations and they only had availability at 4pm, which was fine with us. When we arrives our host gave me a beautiful red flower (So sweet!). The staff was really nice, attentive and amicable. They suggested the V-Day special and we went with it. They ask you the kind of bread you want for your table, we got sourdough and it was really good! The special included an appetizer: an oyster with some caviar hummus. Delicious! Soup: Cauliflower cream with strawberries. This soup was super interesting! It was salty and sweet, nothing like I've had before. I hope they keep it on the menu. For the main course the special included a Filet mignon, lobster, mashed potatoes and veggies. The food was amazing!! The steak was cooked to perfection! The lobster was so amazing! And they have us Two generous lobster tails. The mashed potatoes were delicious. The special also included a dessert! Omg! Everybody know how I feel about desserts. They brought a hear shape white chocolate mousse with raspberry filling! Best dessert ever! After the meal, they gave us little chocolate mints and Coffee cake for breakfast next day! How awesome is that?! I've been to a fair amount of steakhouses and this one has great quality food and excellent service! I was so bummed with our experience at the steakhouse. We came here on Friday night and I had never been before so I was excited to try it out. We are locals and have heard good things. I had high expectations, given the price. First problem - there are a million employees running around the main dining area so it is totally chaotic, not relaxing and intimate at all. There are waiters, hostesses, busboys, people refilling water, people preparing tableside dishes - so it is just loud and chaos. They really should make a side area where the waiters and the rest of the staff can hang out, because for now, it's a dining hall with people hovering everywhere. Next problem - the fire alarm went off for 30 minutes during our dinner. Like reeer-er-reeer-er loud! Flashing lights, etc. We had to wait for the fire department to come. I understand these things happen - but when it's 30 minutes of sirens and flashing lights, I do expect some sort of comp, maybe something as small as a free desert, even an apology would be sufficient. The staff just ignored it like nothing was happening. Lastly, the food was just meh. When you're paying $65 for a steak it should be stellar. To be fair, the escargot and soup was good. But the pork and the steak were totally raw and had very weird textures. So sad because I had such high hopes. Won't be going back. read more

Had a great birthday dinner for my husband last night. The Steakhouse was very accommodating, making sure the special that night was the bison tomahawk which my husband loves (Note to Steakhouse: You should add this to the main menu. Several of your staff have mentioned it is very popular). After I mentioned when making the reservation that it was my husband's birthday, the pastry chef called to see if I wanted a special dessert. One thing you do not want to miss is the soup. Every time we have dined at the Steakhouse we have ordered the soup and it is always spectacular - what I imagine the soup on the Seinfeld Soup Nazi episodes must have tasted like! Had dinner here last night with a business associate and we had a very nice dinning experience. The wait staff was very attentive and the atmosphere was also very nice. We both had the lobster bisque which had a nice portion of lobster meat in it. I had salmon on cedar plank with crab meat that came with a side of potatoes. Both of these dishes were very rich and I could only manage to eat half of my main course. This is why I am giving Atlantis only four stars. This is my second review of the Atlantis Steakhouse, where our first visit wasn't the best. But our NYE dinner made up for all that and then some! Although we weren't expecting much from this visit based on our 1st visit there, we decided to give it a go! We knew the food was okay and that maybe service would be better. Afterall, it was NYE and we were down the street at the Peppermill. To our great surprise and delight - the service was great but most importantly, the food was amazing. I got the Kansas City Ribeye with the Shrimp Scampi. The hubby got the Prime Rib (smaller order), with extra mashed potatoes, no asparagus. We also got the Creamed Corn. My steak was perfectly cooked in Medium. My husband's Prime Rib was heated to a perfectly seared Medium+. The creamed corn was fantastic! And we polished off a bottle of champagne. YUMMY all around! I just have to say that we really had an amazing dinner this time around. So bravo to the steakhouse for bringing some great cheer to our NYE. read more

Great bar and the women behind the bar were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We were escorted to our table and again we were greeted by our waiter, very gregarious and explained menu items on special that night. I had the special which consisted of 2 lobster tails and a filet mignon. We were served in a fair amount of time with our soup and salads and bread and there was plenty of wine and water available. This was our special night, in lieu of exchanging gifts, this is the beginning of a new tradition whereas we will go out for fine dining after Christmas. Since we are all adults, my wife, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, and me, we can go wherever we want and have adult bevarages. I had order a grilled lobster and it arrived at the table as steamed. I felt compelled to send it back and it came back with a scant of grill marks, barely visible, it went right back to the kitchen. I thought it was rather strange that they would serve me the same food 3 times and still not get it right. The last time, I highly suspect that a kitchen butane torch was used because the lobster was caramelized on the outside and cold in the inside. I was very curious at this point and I related my concerns to the waiter, which he said he would relate the info to the Chef. I did not hear from the chef and asked the waiter. He politely told me they would take it off our bill. So half a meal was plenty by the time I demolished my dessert and a couple of cups of coffee. The last cup of coffee we were served was almost at room temperature and the waiter was made aware. Our biggest disappointment is in the fact that we were expecting a 5 star meal, not a 3 star meal. A great looking interior, excellent selections of wines, great service, but you can't cut corners when it comes to food prep and you are paying a 4-5 star prices. The Atlantis will improve if they know what is going on the kitchen. At least one person that is making it difficult for clients to enjoy fine dining. I look forward to going again and hoping that I and the rest of their clients have a better experience. I will remain positive and hope this was just one of those nights that will not occur again. read more

Our servers - Logan and Kim made the whole experience outstanding. I had the chicken dish - which was great. My husband did the sirloin - which was cooked to perfection. Along with the crab legs - which were so flavorful and the 'best he's ever had.' Accompanied by the house bread, an appetizer of bacon wrapped scallops, the soup or salad that comes with the meal, the entree itself, and then they provided a complimentary dessert for the evening also. Couldn't get the waiter back to order our entries. Had to track down another waiter to get our waiter back so that we cold order out entries. Ordered the Surf and Turf combo, Prime Rib and Scallops. When my order came, one of the scallops had a strong "Ammonia" smell and taste. The other two scallops were fine. Got one bad scallop. :-( Didn't complain to the waiter. Wife ordered the Fillet Mignon and Foie Gras. Was too salty. Not that great. Overall, we experienced it and it was BAD. Not coming back. Going to the other steakhouse down the street. read more

I have found my new Gold Standard for steak, here at the Atlantis. I never knew you could have "designer" meat. They serve Allen Brothers of Chicago wet aged meat. It truly does make a difference. They provide a nice personal atmosphere where the waitstaff address you by your surname every time they come to your table. The lighted onyx accents are very calm and sophisticated at the same time. The Robert Sinskey Vineyard wine went very well with our meal. The ribeye was perfection. Crusty on the outside and perfect medium rare on the inside. The meat flavor was incredible. The sides of asparagus and baked potato were perfectly executed. Overall, a great place to celebrate a special occasion with a perfect meal. I believe this will be our anniversary dinner spot from now on. read more
