Biggest waste of a month and a half. Needed a transmission for my 1985 Dodge Ramcharger. Reached out to Atlas in mid-March, and they informed me they had one that was an exact match. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Despite the plethora of bad reviews, I took a chance and purchased it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was shipped out from Oregon en route to my place in Virginia on March 23rd. Two weeks later when I checked the shipping status it had only made it to Utah. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called Atlas and they explained that there were "driver issues" and that they would be resolved shortly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Another three weeks passed (now over a month from when it was shipped out) and it was still only in Missouri. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I once again called Atlas, and they told me that it was actually scheduled to be delivered to my mechanic by 4pm that day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I informed my mechanic that it would finally get there that day. Four days later my mechanic called and said nothing had been delivered. I once again called Atlas and they told me that the truck had been in an accident all auto parts were destroyed. Huh?????? What????? Accident??? All auto parts destroyed??? Made ZERO sense. They did refund my money, but what a complete waste of a month and a half and I still don't have a running car. I purchased an engine from atlas auto for a 2010 Toyota tundra from this company in Feb 2026. during this purchase I was sent multiple msgs about the quality engine I would be receiving and I need not be hesitant about purchasing the engine, I was reassured through msg and phone conversation I would be receiving a high quality "tested" running motor,they claim that there engines they are selling are still currently in the salvage vehicles in good running condition, I requested pictures of the engine and the salvage vehicle prior to purchasing, once you pay for the part then they claim they give the mechanic the green light to remove/ package/ ship. I requested pics of the salvage vehicle, pics of the Odometer video of the engine running along with vin tag, I was sent pics of a wrecked tundra "not a 2010" but the truck in picture was a 2015-17 and parts were interchangeable from 208-2017. It that had absolutely no front end damage, pics of the engine, refused to give me vin# and said they were unable to take video due to the number of vehicles and parts they move. I questioned the sales men on the phone why I could not be provided this information, and was again told they only sell quality parts and I would receive a good, running , quality engine! The engine cost was about $3900 after tax, the engine was purchased and I was provided a tracking #. it showed up at the shop 7-10 days later, the engine looked immaculate, my mechanic even said I hope this isn't one of those to good to be true things. Days later the truck was pulled into the shop, engine was placed in engine compartment, mounted, installed and as they were attempting to add fluids noticed large chunks of metal in the oil Filter, not only the filter but large chunks of oil in screen, he then pulled the oil pan and the entire oil pan was full of large chunks of metal covering the bottom of the oil pan, the engine was junk! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The engine was never started or fired! It came in this condition the wiring harness had not yet been attached, I called atlas auto immediately after being told the news, had to specify ask for a supervisor who they were hesitant to let me to speak with.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] "Martin" the supervisor assured me he would make the situation right! the contract they provide at time of purchase says the customer would be receiving a high quality, "tested" running engine, and that if anything went wrong with the engine they would replace the engine if it was within 90 days, or a refund could be requested, however they would not cover cost of mechanics fees, undecided what I wanted to do as far as taking a chance of receiving another piece of crap engine from atlas auto,which obviously they lied to me from the very beginning ,telling me this engine was "tested" and a clean running engine, the only thing clean was the exterior of the engine because they sprayed it down in degreaser and pressure washed the crap out of it prior to shipping, I provided "Martin" with multiple pics showing obvious damage to this engine and questioned how this engine was considered a quality engine and made it past any inspection, If and I mean If this engine was running it had to sound like a freight train and be pooping, missing, banging. And this engine was shipped to me as a quality part from atlas auto, he said an investigation would be conducted on the mechanic that provided the engine and a engine like that should have never been sold "but it was" I asked Martin who was paying for my mechanic that just charged me almost $1700 for the useless work he had just completed? And I was told that the contract says mechanics fees are not covered, my reply way your contract also states that I would be receiving a "tested" high quality engine that was in good running condition, again he said it was the mechanics fault that they purchased the engine from and that they are a 3rd party that just sells these parts they do not inspect them, they use trusted mechanics that they trust, I asked for the 3rd party mechanics info so I could send him the bill and I was told he couldn't do that and there was nothing any one could do about me racking up a bill for a junk engine that got sent to me from atlas auto, current I am waiting on my refund of $3900, I had to have my mechanic fil out a diagnostic report send pics and vouch that this engine was junk, that was all done. I am currently talking to an attorney and will post an update to see if atlas auto resolves this issue to "make it right" or I had to sue them to make it right. I believe the pics I received were fake, i believe what they promise is a lie! I believe they tell you what you want to hear and can not validate what your receiving is the same product you think your purchasing, atlas auto is responsible for me loosing thousands of dollars and being responsible for me not having a running vehicle for an extensive period of time! if you need a good quality engine with the security you arent getting scamed this is not the place!! read more

BUYER BEWARE! Atlas Auto Parts are real crooks! They claim to stand behind the engines they sell online and that they will replace any defective engine that they ship, but they don't. In my case, I paid $1,100 for a rebuilt 2010 Ford Focus engine. Atlas shipped a rusted-out engine that would not start to my mechanic. Then they argued with the mechanic and demanded that he install it anyway. When he refused to install an obviously defective engine they demanded that I, the consumer, pay another $256 to have the defective engine shipped back to them. They refused to send a replacement engine unless I paid an extra $256.00 to ship the defective engine back. None of their advertised policies ever said the customer would be required to PROVE the parts they shipped were defective! I never agreed to pay for returns of defective parts at the start of this transaction. No reputable business does this! Atlas lied repeatedly, they claimed they would arrange to immediately pick up the est defective engine test it, and if it was indeed defective, they would return my $256. and refund my $256. They lied. Finally 14 days later, shipped a replacement engine, but they NEVER picked up the first rusted-out, defective engine. They NEVER REFUNDED my $256 extra charge supposedly for the cost of returning the defective part. Atlas Auto Parts simply ripped me off for another $256. I urge you, never deal with these folks.
