We had the original aluminum single paned windows from back in the 70s on our house. They were drafty and we could pretty much hear anything going on outside. We have 4 sliding doors, which are quite pricey. We got multiple quotes from different places, and Scott got us the best price by a long shot; I think close to $5K. Also we liked that Scott was a local business that had a local fabricator. After getting all the required approvals by our HOA, the team came over as scheduled and were able to get everything done in like 6 hours. We definitely notice a more consistent temperature within the house, and street noise has decreased a lot. Over the past 2 years, everything is still functioning well. read more

GREAT GLASS SLIDING DOOR REPLACEMENT! Great service, great quality slider and stands by work: Had called Lowe's and Home Depot. For the lowest quality sliders they stock it was still more expensive, at least $500 more. Decided to try Atlas since they carried a better door brand and no middle man meant better labor rate. Everything about it was a top-notch professional experience. From the estimate appointment to installation day. They are excellent of scheduling and timeliness, the installer walked us through everything and was finished in the time frame he estimated. Left everything immaculate when done. Had a minor hiccup a month later. Apparently we ya led the door too hard and banged it up off the track. Could t tell that's what happened from just looking at it, but we called and they had warranty contacting us within. A day. Warranty person came out and explained what we did, added an extra bumper and showed us how it goes off and how to put it right back on. It slides so smoothly, one of us probably flung it unknowingly. Especially since the old slider was junk and we'd have to strong arm it to get it open. I had three sliding doors and four windows installed by Atlas Windows and Doors. I'm writing this review quickly to warn others of my personal experience and doing business with this company. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: The Good - Competitive pricing for doors and windows. We will see if the old saying is true, "you get what you pay for". This was definitely true in regards to working with Scott and his crew in the end. We'll see how the windows and doors hold up over time. The Bad - Doors ordered - 03-15-23. Had to wait two weeks for the doors/windows to be installed (04-08-23) after the windows and doors were finished being built and then Scott scheduled the painting of the trim (for doors only) on Easter Sunday (04-09-23, I didn't want to say no because I didn't want to wait any longer to complete the project - project just finished yesterday 04-16-23). They cut corners on installation process, watch them like a hawk if you end up using them. Installer will act friendly and knowledgeable until your not in sight or paying attention and will cut corners. Purchased the three installers lunch, I was helping them clean up messes as they did their job and they still did crappy work. Two installers where almost completely worthless on the job site (main installer had to go back and fix/clean up most of their work). Do yourself a favor, do your own research on the install process so you are educated on the steps of a proper install (whatever type of install you do, retro fit...), there are a lot of online tutorials. Sloppy caulking work and workmanship overall (put trim nails through vinyl doors where he wasn't supposed to, left messes around the entire house....). The Ugly - Installer lied to my face twice saying that he had used foam to insulate around the doors, he didn't. When I sat and watched him on the last door install, all of a sudden he needed to go to Home Depot to get more spray foam... I don't want to waste any more of my time explaining all details, the head aches and troubles dealing with Scott and and his installers... but if I treated my clients the way Scott treated me, I would not have any clients. All the five star ratings here, I question now, because that is what I expected and got one to no star rating/service at best. There was so much other stuff/crap/details/time I had to deal with this project, that i just don't want waste another second more explaining/dealing with the horrible experience I had with Scott and his company. read more

Scott is awesome! He was my first person I contacted through the Thumbtack app. We had 30 year old single pane windows in 112 degree heat. It just wasn't conducive for the area we live in. We hired Atlas to do our windows. From the time we did measurements to install was 2 weeks with an install time of 1 day. They were the lowest bid yet best quality we found. After the windows being installed on a hot day and our AC on for an hour the house was already cooler than what it would have been with our old windows!!! A year later we've only had one problem where the caulk wasn't all the way around the window during a rain storm but I texted Scott and he got someone out right away! After coordinating with Scott to schedule an in home estimate, he bailed hours before scheduled to arrive. I had provided my address days prior for the estimate and we had agreed on a day and time. I received a text message to confirm the visit 3 hours before the scheduled estimate. Within 15 minutes of confirming, I was informed that they "do not service my area" (Los Angeles). Misleading website and ads. Apparently the only part of "Los Angeles" they serve is Long Beach, which is not specified on their website nor ads. Unprofessional and VERY unreliable! read more

On schedule Atlas Windows & Doors installed all of my window and 3 sliding Glass doors today. I called Atlas two weeks ago and set up an appointment with Scott Ahlmeyer. I told him that I needed to get a quote ASAP. He met me the following morning. I had gotten 3 quotes. Scott was the only one who came out to my house. The others just quoted me over the phone. When I met up with Scott he went over everything in great detail. He actually talked me out of spending more money and recommended that I stick to the same color window and trim instead of purchasing a window and slider with a different color trim on the outside. That would have cost me a lot more money ( I'm really glad that I listened to him). I asked him if there was any way that he could fast track my install date. He told me that he would do his best. Within two weeks from the time that Scott measured I had my windows and Sliders in. Scott's installers were extremely professional. They were clean and well organized. There work was outstanding. I was pleasantly surprised on how quick and efficient they were. The end result was a perfect 10. I would definitely recommend using Atlas to my friends and family. I'm a very picky person, but Scott of Atlas Windows & Doors exceed all my expectations. I ordered a sliding glass door and a small glazed windows from Scott back in July 2015. After 5 months the sliding glass door to my patio started to have some issue. One of the glass panel started to bend & bubble. I was very worried and call Scott immediately. After 5 months, Scott still remembered who I was. He sent out his installer the next day to see what was going on. A week later my defective productive was replaced. First time I've ever left a review on yelp but felt compelled to do so. Scott & his team are great. Windows were ordered and installed in less than 3 weeks! I didn't believe Scott when he said the windows would be ready in 5-10 days, but sure enough, they were. The service was excellent and the windows are great. We had the windows installed in my mother's residence in Laguna Woods. There are a few extra hoops you have to jump through when installing in LW & Scott handled it all with no problems. I've had horrible experiences with other window companies in OC. I'm so happy I found an honest, reliable window company to use. read more
