A rare gem of a bike shop--Atomic Cycles and Paul are the real deal. If you're lucky enough to stumble across Atomic Cycles in North Hollywood, you've found something special--an old-school, no-frills, soul-of-cycling kind of place. This isn't some sleek boutique with overpriced parts and cookie-cutter service. This is Paul's shop--a one-man operation, part museum, part workshop, part time machine--and entirely awesome. I recently pulled two bikes out of storage after 25+ years of collecting dust. One was a cruiser-style 21-speed, the other my old Klein Stage Comp road bike from my triathlon days. My son is just getting into cycling, so I wanted to see if they could be resurrected. Enter Paul. From the moment you walk in, you're hit with nostalgia--cluttered racks, retro parts, classic bikes stacked everywhere, and zero e-bikes (don't even mention them--Paul will make his feelings known! ). Then you meet Paul himself: a lean, strong, greying guy in his 50s with oil-stained hands, a frayed shirt, and the calm intensity of a mad scientist-mechanic who knows his craft inside and out. He's not there to upsell you or push gimmicks. Paul is a caretaker of bicycles. He brought both my bikes back to life for a price that was literally a fraction of what the big box bike shops wanted to charge. And his work? Impeccable. No BS. Just honest, high-skill labor from someone who clearly lives and loves the cycling life. If you want e-bike talk and shiny sales floors, go elsewhere. If you want someone who treats your bike like it's a piece of living history and will get it running better than ever--go see Paul. This place is more than a bike shop--it's a living piece of cycling culture. I'm grateful I found it.

Nothing good. Small, dusty. All the bikes were full of dirt still as they were being sold.

Atomic Paul is the man! Always has what I'm looking for and has it for cheap. The best little used/repair shop in the valley!

They automatically give you a credit card, over 30% interest! Before I got any paperwork for the 'free loan' they sent me an unsolicited credit card with interest on that card over 30%! I thought it was an unsolicited credit card so I cut it up and threw it away. Almost instantly, I got daily comments through text messages, why have you not activated your credit card? Your credit card needs to be activated immediately!! I don't want their over 30% credit card!! Followed by texts, counting down days to payment due! When I try and set up account on the Synchrony bank app., to make a payment, I find that without a Synchrony bank account or their credit card, They tell me that they can't find me and no payment can be made at this time. No Credit Card or Checking or Savings account, located with Synchrony. So I call them and get someone with extremely limited English at the Offshore Call Center!! This person tells me that they will only accept payments through the Synchrony Bank. Either mail a check or money order, or my personal bank debit card information. Tried to pay in FULL using my personal debit card, but would not accept payment more than $500.00. I am glad this is a one purchase only transaction, because I will never go back to a business that insists on me using their payment program, instead of letting me go ahead and pay for my purchase at the time of purchase! P.S. I do enjoy the trike, just not the company that I have to make the payments to!! I just won't be going back very soon to this business! I located a shop near me that lubed the squeaks and will do any future repairs I may need. Also, their "chat" is not actually live. They tell you they will contact you in a few minutes, but it's been over hours and I'm still waiting.

About an hour after pickup, the bike completely lost power and went into anti-theft mode. Another battery didn't solve it. I returned asking them to check whether anything could have been accidentally disturbed during the brake work--not to accuse anyone, but to troubleshoot what happened immediately after their repair. Instead, I felt dismissed. Rodney, the person in charge, repeatedly insisted that because they don't do electrical work, they couldn't have contributed to the issue, while talking over my concerns. I later contacted an independent e-bike specialist on my own--not an employee of this shop or someone they referred me to--who repaired the electrical problem. He couldn't conclusively determine the cause, although he said the lever repair could potentially have played a role. What IS certain: the very next day, the brake lever I paid this shop to repair failed badly and had to be replaced. Thankfully, I wasn't going downhill or riding in heavy traffic. I wasn't looking for an admission of guilt. I wanted my concerns taken seriously and a safe, dependable brake repair. Unfortunately, I received neither.

It is very pricey, but I understand because it's in a very interesting location so your options are limited for food, especially if you're a cyclist. I ordered the BLAT and added an egg. My total with tip for just a sandwich was $27. It took 40 minutes for me to get the sandwich. I knew it was exactly 40 minutes because my credit card charge had a timestamp. I understand it was busy, but it's just a sandwich. Additionally the sandwich wasn't even good. I didn't finish it and was very disappointed that I waited so long paid so much for something that didn't taste great. The bread was not toasted. The bacon was chewy and there was nothing special about it. Plus, I was roasting because it was hot. Overall, I would not do this again. Maybe I would get a drink, but I don't know if it warrants the price. If you're a cyclist and you have no other options sure but I was pretty sad that I didn't have a great experience.
