I had thought for years about having the old mixed insulation in my attic replaced. Debris from a recent roof shingle replacement job caused me to look for an insulation company to have the work done. I was very favorably impressed by the work done by the crew from Attic Crew company. First a nice man named Hakan visited the house to describe the work that would be done. He mentioned the company's five year warranty, and how they would seal openings to prevent rodent intrusion. He offered what I thought was a good price, and he was able to schedule the work soon. The crew arrived with a big box truck, and unloaded two large vacuum machines, hoses, debris bags, and the new insulation. Manuel was the team leader, and the crew members were Juan, Raul and Ezequiel. They put on white suits and respirators and went to work. They worked hard all day in the attic area that was confined by a low pitch roof. At the end of the long day they cleaned up everything and took the filled debris bags with them. Manuel mentioned that he had found and blocked a couple of places where rodents could come in. When I looked at the area later, I saw the new thick white insulation, and the seals they put around all of the vent pipes going up through the roof. The next day I was on the roof, and was surprised to see that they had also put screens in the top of the vent pipes so that rodents could not enter. I think that the Attic Crew are hard working men who did an excellent job on my house. read more

We appreciated the service provided by Jay, Roberto and the Attic Crew team. We hired them initially to address a mice problem and they provided thorough service that eliminated the rodents. We called them back two more times during the length of the contract to check out another rat that got into another area of the house and then to seal a hole that a skunk dug under our foundation. It was nice to know that the contract covered other types of rodents, not just rats. read more

We ended up not using Attic Crew as their quote didn't meet our expectations. So technical, I'm not qualified to rate their services but the experience wasn't great and so I wanted to express my thoughts here: My husband - an interior architect - has had good experiences with the services from Attic Crew at a house in Atherton. He said: "They did an amazing job!" So needless to say, when we needed rodent control in our house, we reached out for a quote. The inspector/evaluator came out and the entire time we already could tell: they don't want to do this job. We heard: - "Your house is really tricky to get to, our truck probably doesn't even make it up your small windy road." - "We need to make a profit somehow and your job is a bit too small for us, but we can do it." - "We only take jobs that are 15 minutes away from Highway 101 - it looks like you barely just fit into this radius." Sure enough, a few hours later we received a quote for $5000: for rodent control and fixing the insulation in our basement. We honestly didn't even bother responding. We ended up getting a quote for $2500 from We Care Pest Solutions and really liked working with them. Like I said: it seems like they are doing a great job when you hire them, but I really didn't enjoy this experience and so we can't really judge that for our house. read more

I hired attic crew for rodent exclusion, after I hired two other companies. One thing that stood out about there offering was their 5-year warranty, after finding rodents. After my first two companies decided to try to find a company with a longer warranty who seemed the most experienced and handling complex situations like this. They definitely did a thorough drive clicking our crawl space and attic, but now I'm experiencing more sounds in the attic! While they were initially responsive when I had still found evidence. Not too long after it there cleaning and exclusion. I now have to wait a month before they come to examine what is going on with the sound in the attic! A lot can happen in a month and while I'm very grateful that we have a five-year warranty, I'm very disappointed that I have to wait over a month to deal with rodents when I have a warranty. read more

I have mixed emotions about this company. There were 5 guys that showed up for my job. They arrived at 8:10 and the last guy did not leave until 7:30 pm. It didn't need to be this way. The 4 guys that worked in the attic worked none stop until they completed removing the old insulation and installed the new insulation. At that point they were done and sat around playing on their phones. There were still things that needed to be done but when I talk to them after they had their lunch about it, they didn't want to discuss with me. I suspect it has to do with the fact that I'm a woman as this was the second time that day they didn't like me asking them questions. Needless to say the rest of the work was left for the 5th guy to do when he got back from the dumps. When he finally returned at 4:30 the 4 other guys left. I was told they would inspect my crawl space, they did not. I was told they would seal my canned lights. I asked for pictures and there are none for that part of the job. Wasn't it done? I don't know as I can not go into my attic as I'm afraid of heights and small spaces. My washer would not work after they left and thankfully it was just a simple fix. They did not turn the water back on. I had to vacuum as there was a layer of dirt on my surfaces and flooring. Today I washed clothes only to find they switched the hot and cold water lines so everything that should have been washed with cold water was washed in hot. Hopefully nothing shrank or is ruined. I've also discovered they scraped the paint on my door jamb and cabinet so now I have to do paint touch up. I had rodents in my attic. My insulation was old and needed to be replaced. The cost of this job was not cheap. I expected so much more from a 5 star diamond certified company. And yet what I'm left with is work I now have to do. read more

EDIT: The company has done what they can to try to address the situation, so I appreciate their efforts. What an absolutely horrible experience. Day one: Crew never shows up with no notification, Day two: crew shows up, works all day, then lies and tells me the job is done. After they left, I inspected the attic and it was still covered in rat poop. Day three: A crew shows up at 5:30pm to finish the job, then informs me there is still so much work to do, they don't have the time or equipment to do it. While here, they break multiple panels in the garage ceiling. Day four: a crew shows up unannounced while I'm in the middle of a meeting. They work all day, but can't fix the broken panels. Day five: repair man supposed to come fix the panels, he never shows up. I'm now told no one can come back until next week. Horrible communication, untrustworthy employees, and lots of excuses. I was offered a measly compensation for the experience, but that doesn't even come close to fixing this. Stay away. read more

I really appreciate Jay coming through and working within my budget while explaining the pros and cons of different types of insulation, including safety (priority #1), environmental soundness, cost, and longevity. Ahmad and his crew showed up at 8:15, right on schedule, toured the space and reconfirmed the work I needed done. His crew worked safely and efficiently. Every member was fully suited and protected. I called Attic Crew and a competitor for quotes on a Monday. Attic Crew sent a representative on Tuesday to provide a quote and the competitor wanted to send a representative 10 days later. I accepted Attic Crew's bid and they performed the work on Thursday. Zabi and his crew of four appeared at the promised time and promptly went to work. They all wore masks and appropriate safety clothing. They cleaned and sanitized the crawl space and attic. and replaced all the attic insulation and damaged insulation in the crawl space. They also replaced sections of damaged ducting. They rodent proofed the house and set traps for monitoring their work. The crawl space was awful and filled with skunk, mouse, and rat poop. They used plastic sheeting to isolate work areas from the rest of the house. The entire job was completed in about 5 hours. Zabi was professional, knowledgeable courteous, and friendly. The crew installed attic insulation and moisture barrier to help with mold issues . Whole house was drier and warmer . They returned after a year and inspected for new mold and Laith did wonderful job explaining the huge rains impact . The new mold was temporary and easily cleaned. Scheduled them a while back to check into a potential rodent prob in my attic. Thank God the problem wasn't serious because they scheduled me for two weeks out...and then called this week to cancel. When I asked why the rep talked around in circles and said they can't come out until next week. She was calling me in SoCal from NoCal so I'm guessing they're a marketing company for contractors, couldn't find any in my area and cancelled. Have no idea how good they are yet but if you have an urgent issue these guys ARE NOT the best choice. read more

5 STARS for Attic Crew! They "measured" twice and cut once. Dan and Boris came over twice to assess the situation just to make sure they were preparing for the job correctly. When it was time to do the work, Ben (the Supervisor) and his team of 7 came and did a really clean job. They lined all the openings with plastic to minimize dust, they lined the window they came through to minimize dirt and damage. There was NO damage, NO clean up. They did it all! YAY!!! At the end of the job, they surveyed everything thoroughly and even helped us with identifying wires and pipes since we did not know what they were. Just finished a huge job at our home in Tiburon. Attic clean, reinsulate, Crawl space clean and lay vapor barrier + replace all heating ducts. I picked Attic Crew because Don our appraiser was extremely detailed, had sincere advice and worked with me to build out the right quote. on job day, Ahmed the foreman called before he showed up with 12 workers And they got right to work. Sealed off their entry and exit points, wore their PPE and worked nonstop. 8 hours later job done. Our attic and crawl space haven't looked this clean and good ever and the heating has improved dramatically. We had the beginnings of rodents getting into our crawl space and 4 failing ducts. Omid and his crew did a cleanup and sanitized the entire space, then came back to replace our vapor barrier. We had 3mm and should have had at least 10mm (confirmed by 3 different companies). They did the job quickly and extremely well. Also used them to clean our ducts and the guys were extremely thoughtful and sensitive to our space, especially as we have young children. I was really happy with the crew and the supervisor, Ahmad, that came on site. It was a big operation and i was walked through the plan for the day before starting and walked around after the job to see that everything was working. I had all insulation taken out, cleaned attic, sanitized, rodent proofed, and new insulation was laid down. They took very good care of the wallpaper, baseboards, and made sure there was plastic hung everywhere to keep any mess out of the house. My pest control contractor informed me that our attic needed clean-up and the ductwork repaired due to rodent damage. (Interestingly, my contractor would not give me any recommendations of companies that provide that service.) I called "Lisa" at Attic Crew, and she scheduled an estimator to meet me in just three calendar days. The estimator described a comprehensive amount of work (more than I expected), gave me a verbal quote, and promised to get a written estimate to me within twenty four hours. He didn't give me his business card, so I had to go back through Lisa (two days later) to get in touch with him. After he called back, the estimator was unusually hesitant -- for reasons I don't know -- to give a written estimate. In return, I was hesitant to give him my business, so I went with one of his competitors. We had a rodent problem in our attic and it was very scary because we have little children. The inspector showed us photos of what was going on in the attic and the droppings everywhere. We were shocked! We immediately booked the cleaning and the sanitation! Luckily, Attic Crew were able to come 2 days later and even finished everything on the same day! We replaced the contaminated insulation and even a couple of air ducts that were damaged by the little critters. Thank god we took care of this so quickly! I highly recommend Attic Crew. Their workmanship was excellent and they were very professional. There is a noticeable difference in my house now: it heats up faster, holds the heat longer, and the floors are not nearly as cold as they were beforehand. It's winter and the house is one block back from the bay - it was like living on a glacier prior to Attic Crew's work. I expect that their work will keep the house a little cooler in the summer too, but won't be able to confirm for several months still. Jay, the tech/sales rep who did the initial assessment and quote, was excellent to work with. He discussed in detail all the things he saw in my attic and crawl space that his team would fix. He took photos throughout the attic to show me the gaps where heat was escaping and photos of the crawl space where he saw the beginnings of mold. I had Attic Crew install a moisture barrier, crawl space insulation and attic insulation. They cleaned out the attic of everything (old insulation, roof debris, filth), disinfected it (and showed me the pictures), air sealed every single gap in the attic and crawl space and installed the new insulation. Ahmad and his crew of about 8 arrived on time (8:30am, and he called 30 minutes beforehand to let me know they were on their way), covered my garage in plastic to catch all the dust and dirt, were very professional, and finished up around 3:00. Plus they set rat traps before they left and will be back in a few weeks to make sure nothing got it. My contractor went into the attic the next week and commented that it was very clean.
