I finally had a chance to go here because I've been wanting to go here for quite some time. I came here with another person and I had the chicken franchaise with ziti on the side and a cup of Chicken Soup beforehand. My food was very good , although I think the franchais sauce could have been a little bit thicker. The person I was with got chicken Cacciatore with the side of ziti and a salad beforehand. We each had a glass of soda. For dessert, we shared the apple crisp with vanilla ice cream. I found the service to be good. They were attentive and they didn't make any mistakes. They did seem a little bit rushed, but then again, the restaurant was packed that night. It was a comfortable but casual environment. We had a booth and it felt private enough even though it was pretty close to the door. We got there at about 5 o'clock, and by the time we were almost ready to leave people were waiting to get in. Since I went here, I recommended it to the rest of my family who all want to try it now. I would recommend it because for starters, the prices are affordable and comparable to similar casual restaurants, the menu is quite varied with lots of choices, it's comfortable and the service was good. read more

We went in for a catered party that included salad, Buono's fresh Italian bread, pasta with red sauce, and stuffed chicken with green beans and potatoes. The service was excellent...water was always filled and bread was always replenished. We were in the side room with the A/C kicking. The salad was excellent! Black olives, kalamata olives, peperoncini, onion, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and croutons finished with a refreshing balsamic vinaigrette. The pasta was decent, the kids all attacked it, but I passed. They were very accommodating to the children as well. Ravioi, chicken tenders, and fries were offered in place of the stuffed chicken. The stuffed chicken was tender and filling...stuffed with rice and vegetables. The green beans were frozen or canned, but the potatoes for fresh roasted. Food was good, service was horrendous. Our party of five were seated at 4:55 and our drink orders were taken fairly quickly as was our food order, which were all standard menu items. After giving our food order our soups, bread, and salad arrived very quickly. When we were sat and during our time at the restaurant it was not busy. The main dishes were not so quick. After waiting almost an hour after we put in our order with no info from the waitress we were told our ticket was lost and they were just starting our food, this message came at 6:05. Many parties around us that sat after us received their food ate and left while we waited for our food to come out. The first entree came out at 6:28 and the final one not till 6:40. No meaningful remediation for our wasted time was ever given or offered. We finally left the restaurant at 7 pm. I will never return to an establishment that has such disrespect for my time and I recommend others to not waste their time either. read more

Average. Bar looks fun. Italian meals taste a bit like a pizza place. Staff is friendly and attentive - hostess set up for failure because they are leaving the host station unattended as they walk away to seat people. The sign reads, "wait to be seated" so when one walks in the door and no one is there at the host stand - guests start walking in to seat themselves. And then they are walked back creating chaos and a unwelcome feeling to EVERYONE at the door! Not good. My suggestion Atwood Grill, put a sign that reads: "Our host is seating others guests and will be right back to seat you too! Thank you!" read more

Hadn't been here in years, and when a friend suggested meeting here for dinner, I was happy to give it a try. Our party of 5 was seated immediately on. At 7 pm on a Wednesday night, the restaurant was busy, but there were wer estill a few empty tables. Our server was courteous and had just the right amount of attentiveness. Our drink orders were taken quickly and arrived at our table soon afterwards. The Italian bread was fresh and plentiful. The menu was large - lots of choices so I feel that this would be the type of restaurant that would be good for a group with something to satisfy everyone. Our entrees all came with salad or soup, and we were all impressed by how large the salads were, and the house dressing was very tasty. I appreciated the dressing being served on the side so I could determine how much I wanted. I ordered Chicken Francaise over linguine and it was very well prepared and the portion size was large enough that I got to enjoy it for lunch the next day. What an AFFORDABLE lunch! My buddy & I sat at the bar...I got the chicken pot pie special, he got the veal parm & we both were satisfied. The bartender was very welcoming, friendly to all the patrons at the bar or who may have said hello passing by going to a table and was right on top of the whole bar's orders (both food & drink) quickly...very efficient. My neice and I went here for lunch at 11:45 this place opened at 11:30. We became very disappointed with the service. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 ribeye meals. The waitress asked how we wanted our steaks. When our meal came out (only one meal) we asked what happened to our 2nd meal the waitress said I thought you were going to share. My neice was upset and said never again, she thought we couldn't afford 2 meals. The problem was the waitress lied because she changed us for 2 meals and 3 drinks which in turn we only had 2 drinks. We decided not to leave a tip and not go back. Pay close attention to your bill because you just never know. read more

I remember eating here awhile back and especially loving the chicken soup. So we decided to go back and try the soup. The soup was good and our waitress was very nice. And that's where the niceties ended. The atmosphere is tired. We tried the pot roast special with mashed potatoes and green beans. While the pot roast did break apart with a fork, it was tasteless, grey and covered in a light brown watery sauce. The mashed potatoes were flavourless too. The worst item on my dish was a mushy plop of canned green beans and a canned piece of artichoke. I tried one bean to confirm. It was repulsive. Another person at the table had mac and cheese with buffalo chicken. It too was mostly inedible. What's with the watery gravy and cheese sauce. Half star is for the chicken soup, the other half, for the nice waitress. My recommendation... keep driving. read more

Extremely Unprofessional Meh Another great example of a local legend frequented by an older crowd of locals with taste bud issues. Your told how great a spot is and visit and find out in reality it's a 5 out of 10 for food. You then get mesmerized by a portion that could feed 3 people, but you here from locals what a great deal it is. So you pay 12 bucks for a big plate of mediocre food when you could spend 16 bucks at a better place on a smaller but much better flavored dish of food. Here's the details: Ordered a Blackened Chicken Alfredo dish and my wife ordered a steak sandwich. Her sandwich was a 5 out of 10, but where this really went wrong is my dish. Chicken Alfredo made with what ended up being completely unflavored vodka like sauce. There was nothing Alfredo about it. It was about a 3 out of 10 dish, just no seasoning. I know this place is a bit of an institution in the area and is always packed. I am still trying to figure out why, but I think I already know. You see a lot of cars so you tell that it's a local joint. I walked and guess what. It was a local joint where everyone knew each other. A lot of an older crowd. The hostess was very informative and nice. I took a seat at the bar. They do have partition that extends past the bar table. VERY PLEASED. I ordered the "Chef Francaise Special. Everyone has been telling me to try this little hidden gem but Everytime we tried to go, there was a substantial wait. NOW I KNOW WHY. The food was amazing and the portions were ridiculous. I could only finish half my meal of Lasagna and was stuffed. Just the right ratio of meat to Ricotta cheese and tomato gravy to make it extra enjoyable. My wife had the blackened Chicken Alfredo and she wholeheartedly enjoyed it. I would recommend everyone try them at least once but I guarantee you will go back again and again. Today I called The Atwood Grill to make a reservation for 8 people for August 20. After being on hold for about 5 minutes, a girl come on the line to take my reservation. She asked me the number of peoples, time of the reservation and then asked if the reservation was for today. I explained that it was for the 20th and she pulled the phone away from her ear and said to someone "I'm dealing with this fucking rude bitch on the phone". Huh? When I questioned her she said she wasn't talking about me but about someone else. Lies! I asked to speak to the manager who apologized for the girl's behavior. NOTE TO OWNER: The 8 of us are now going to Twin Oaks for our meeting. How can you allow such a low life, unqualified person speak with your customers? Needless to say I won't be going back to your restaurant. Maybe you should send this girl for training because she clearly needs help. read more

People in this area have lots of Italian roots. This also means lots and lots of great Italian options in the area. Atwood Grill is a great lunch option - their menu is HUGE. It's almost overwhelming, but at least you have many options if you are picky. They have specials, pitchers of Sangria, great beers on tap. No complaints! Last time I had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo. The serving was awesomely large - it has that home cooking kind of feel to it. I was able to get three meals out of one serving. The chicken was juicy, perfectly seasoned and with a tiny bit of a kick. It was SO good. I need to learn how to make it because I can see it be awesome on a salad or on pretty much anything....The sauce was also good. It's pink not white Alfredo sauce. It is not something I would normally expect. The waitress warned me that it is made with white and red sauce and that they also have the white sauce, but recommended the pink. I trusted the suggestion and rolled the dice. I wish the sauce was a bit more seasoned but with a bit of salt, pepper it was fine. At home I did add a bit of garlic to it. Either way, it was good. It has a very "local eatery" feel to it, and attracts the older crowd for the most part. I am willing to come back and try it again for sure. The service was quick, drinks cold and food was good. My only suggestion is that the place needs a bit on a face-lift - just needs to be refreshed. It looks outdated. Definitely new booths, tables and chairs. Had a terrible experience for a late dinner, last Friday, Dec 9. My boyfriend and I had ordered at 8:42pm, he had seafood pasta with the white chowder. I tasted one scallop and said it tasted fishy and didn't want more. He ate about 25% of his dinner and didn't want anymore. His stomach was upset before he left and was deathly ill, all night from food poisoning from the seafood. We immediately called the next morning to complain. Mark the GM, said he will escalate to owner. We called again Dec 12 because we didn't hear from anyone - spoke with Nicole (?) and she was rude, dismissive and wanted documentation that he was sick. I expected a refund 100% plus an apology. Nothing more, nothing less. Terrible food, bad atmosphere, awful customer service, will never return. read more

We ordered take out from here today. Food was delivered hot and my fries were not soggy which is hard to do when getting take out. My husband got the Buffalo Mac and Cheese. The pasta was well cooked the cheese sauce was rich and tasty we will definitely be ordering that again! I got the chicken parm sandwich and fries which was good, juicy and a good sauce bread cheese chicken ratio in my opinion ha ha. My husband loved his wings from here also and stated he'd get those again for sure. We also got the Mozzarella wedges which we weren't fond of. They were cooked fine but didn't taste great.
