I was pleasantly surprised when I found this little restaurant which had flown under my radar. This was the first time I have experienced savory crepes and they were excellent. I also had a dessert crepe as a second course and it was great. There are so many selections on the menu and I think you would be hard pressed to find something that didn't meet your taste expectations. The food is light, the atmosphere was laid back, nothing fancy if that is what you are looking for. The owner was very personable. Excellent crepes. Friendly service. Great variety. Fresh ingredients. I love the turkey avacado roasted red pepper crepe (#13) adding Brie and egg on top. The dark chocolate varieties are wonderful of course. The fruit is always fresh and ripe. Only suggestion to make this five stars is faster service during peak hours. Staff accordingly. Very cute little place in Hershey. It was a little hard to find and there is no parking (but there is public parking around back near the church). Inside reminds me of my Grandma's house, but it was nevertheless cozy. The tables were made of chalkboard, which was fun! There was only one man 'running the show' but he was very kind. If you sit near the back, you can watch him cook the crepes. The Belgian chocolate crepe with blueberries was so delicious! I was nearly licking the plate. They did have savory options, but I'd most likely only come here for dessert. Overall, this is definitely a true gem, hidden within the streets of Hershey. read more

Was visiting Hershey for a few days and before we drove back to Buffalo, my family (3 kids and wife) stopped by because we read good Yelp reviews and we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time - it was not your normal meal hours (about 4-5pm). We ordered a # of savory crepes and they were WONDERFUL (we weren't sure how well our kids would eat so we only ordered like 4 at first). Our kids tried it out for the first time and they were more interested in plain crepes - but then we tried the sweet ones and they were just as wonderful. The owner - who is also the chef/waiter - is a very nice gentleman from Morocco who clearly spoke French (because he was on the phone while he was preparing our order). The entire atmosphere reminded us a typical small restaurant we had been to when we visited Paris ages ago. This place is a bit tricky to find - you have to drive into a small "rear" parking lot and it is one of the buildings in the rear end of the lot. Our GPS was not very helpful in guiding us there but we eventually found it. Personally, I loved the specials #100 (with an egg on the top), the smores (also a special) was excellent (we ordered it without peanut butter because our son didn't like it) and it was great without it. There weren't anything that we ordered that we didn't like - no food was left on our plates by the time we were done and we ate like 8 crepes! Would definitely visit if we ever stopped by Hershey again - this place is better than some of the big city's crepes that I've been to! I noticed some reviews had negative comments about the speed of the chef making their orders, the use of paper plates, and writing down your own order. All I have to say is try to visit other parts of the world and you'll find out that it's quite a common practice to write down your own orders in a lot of places - maybe not so in America but certainly in a lot of other parts of the world. With respect to the use of paper plates and speed of the food coming out - I am in there for their awesome food and paying a very reasonable price for such - I could careless about some fancy plates holding my crepe - you are there to eat the food, not the plate. Plus that's the beauty of the crepe - it's freshly made, one at a time - which is why it is wonderful. read more

I ordered through doordash as I was craving a chocolate snack. I ordered the chocolate peanut butter crepe with a latte. No latte, only coffee or hot tea. Fine, whatever. The part that got me was, when I opened my order, it was egg and cheese. Not remotely close to what I had asked for. I complained through DoorDash, with no response. I am completely blown away by this beautiful little creperie. A friend and I noticed a new place had opened up in downtown Hershey, and grew increasingly giddy as our time inside passed by. The crepes were incredible- we had the Bavarian dark chocolate with strawberries, the Ratatouille crepe, and one with avocados, eggs, tomatoes, and Brie. To add to the excellent food, the atmosphere was perfect- calm, cozy, and relaxed. The owner was very easy to talk to, charming and full of stories. Be sure to park in the downtown garage parking, only a minute's walk down the street, or in the back.. Parking out front is for Phillip Arthur's customers. Definitely adding it to the top of my list for places to eat in Hershey! read more

Whoever knew that when you had been to Hershey, you are going to be talking more about a nondescript place next to a coffee shop more than the Chocolate World and the tours within and outside of it??!!! It was actually totally a chance thing that landed us up in this shop. No sooner I entered in, I could clearly make out that the chef, the owner, the waiter - they were all the same!! This did translate into enormous waiting times.. but Hey - they got some abacus to play around for the kids.. they allow you to do your art on the table with multi colored chalk pieces. So, you can definitely entertain yourself :-) Also, its not a very large or swanky place. So, the limited seating also translates to a limited greed for expansion of the number of customers at the same time I guess - and good job to the partners on that note! Alright, moving to the actual food part er.. the good part of it - there was an extremely simple menu card that also had some nice numbering system. So, we actually could have it both ways - order as if we are @ a Dunkin Donut but also have the privilege of being seated to dine in without having to deal with saying out the fancy names on the menu card. The suggested vegetarian options were excellent. The chocolate filled crepes and the various logos on the crepe also made it look and feel so different. And it tasted awesome! So, if there is any reason I am going to be driving up anyone to Hershey, it is going to be dine in here than go around the chocolate world. read more

Hershey location: visited twice so far in July (2016) since it is closer to us. There was a very pleasant gentleman making the crepes on both visits. All I can say is this is officially our favorite eat out place now. Absolutely fresh, delicious crepes(savory or sweet options). Our favorite so far is the #3 - Smoked Salmon Crepe. Very fast service. Just enough space to squeeze inside our baby in her stroller or basinet. We will be going there a lot!! Downtown Harrisburg location: so we visited their downtown venue as well. Great relaxing brunch with amazing customer service and affordable. My husband and I stopped by on a whim and were pleasantly surprised by this sweet little space. Delicious food, each of us had both savory and sweet crepes and it was all good. Coffee was perfect too! Loved the chill atmosphere and the server and chef were friendly and welcoming and made you feel special, trying to make the meal an experience and not just food! Will definitely be back! The owner is SO kind. He got to know my siblings and me on a personal level, and gave us free samples as he was making our crepes. The caramel was homemade, powdered sugar was organic, fruits were sweet, and Belgian chocolate was decadent. They were the best crepes we've ever had!!! Y'all I can't say enough nice things about this place. It's a little hidden gem in Hershey, but worth the drive up alone. We tried a multitude of both sweet and savory crepes, 6 in total, and loved every bite. I was trying to decide if I wanted to try caramel or chocolate (we needed up getting both) when the owner brought me out some of the caramel to try. His wife makes it homemade, and no joke, it was the best I've ever had. The crepe cooking area is in full view of the seating area. It was really nice to be able to watch. Once you start your ticket, by writing down the numbers you want, you can just verbally tell them from there and it's to you in minutes. Everyone coming in while we were there, and ourselves, were first timers. The owner was kind and patient explaining everything and offering recommendations. We come up to Hershey a few times a year, and will 100% come back for more of these amazing crepes. read more

We dined here for dinner after a full day of Hershey Park. When we entered there were two other parties with young children and a table that hadn't been bussed yet. Two little girls watched the chef finish preparing their crepes as we entered an hour before closing. The three of us were brought our menus by the owner/chef/waiter/busboy of the one man operation after a brief wait. We were instructed regarding ordering - write the numbers of the items in the order you want them and help yourself to cold drinks in the cooler. 2 savory and 1 sweet crepe arrived shortly just as the three of us had requested. We all thought they were great. By the time we were ready for our dessert crepes the other patrons had left and the owner had bussed the tables and swatted some pesky flies. My wife and 16 yo daughter went to watch him prepare the dessert crepes. After a little talk, the owner invited my daughter behind the scenes to make her own crepe. He had her make a lemon and sugar crepe as opposed to the one she ordered. He demonstrated technique on ours and instructed her as she prepared hers. We were all delighted at the care and passion he had for the art of the crepe and his ability to teach. The one my daughter made turned out fabulous as did mine and my wife's. Dinner was delightful and the whole experience almost magical. We left with smiles and a determination to come back for dessert the next night even in the midst of the "sweetest place on Earth". What this quaint place lacks in parking and polish, the owner makes up for with passion, customer service, and quality of food. read more

This place has two locations-one in Hershey and one in downtown Harrisburg. The down town location is smaller but has a better building. The Hershey location is behind another restaurant and there is no parking. The crepes are average. The batter is really good but the fillings aren't standard. Once I had a great Nutella and banana crepe and the next time I went either they must have run out of Nutella or the crepe maker was different; the crepe I got was soggy and with very little Nutella inside. The prices they charge for the crepes are a little much. I also don't like the chalkboard tabletops. The chalk gets all over you when you sit there. read more

Small, quaint shop run by one person (who called in help when a party of 15 showed up, which consumed the place). He gives you a ticket for you to write the menu number for each crepe you want to order. Tip: star the ones you want served first if you're ordering more than one each. This way they come out fresh to you. Make sure to check the special menu board on the wall. He can make a variety of coffee drinks or has bottled beverages available. This is a low-key place tucked away behind the main road, but it's worth a visit. We parked in the free garage across the street. Good for families and small parties. read more

Puzzled by the good reviews for this spot. One person operation trying to take care of everything. We were instructed to write the number of our crepe to self order. Mine was 23, but I was served a 22. My Mrs. ordered a 41 with spinach, garlic, onion & feta. Not only was there no sign of feta cheese, but the crepe itself was overcooked to the point being thin, dry & brittle like phyllo. Flavorless. The service was so slow, which means after waiting 30-35 minutes we had plenty of time to notice how dirty this restaurant was. OK, I have to apologize to the owner of this place. After visiting California and saw how this one place made their crepes, I have to say the crepes from Au Bon Lieu are excellent. Have been here twice now, and have left extremely pleased both times. The workers are friendly and informative, while not being over bearing. The environment is cozy and family friendly. The food speaks for itself, absolutely fantastic. It took about an hour and a half for a family of four to each get a savory crepe and a sweet one for dessert, but it is well worth the wait.
