Lox platter with hashbrown casserole and coffee
    Fawn M.

Visited here on a Sunday for brunch during a work trip, last meal in Hersheybefore heading home. I Google local breakfast spots, this place came up and had good reviews; it was worth the stop. I was seated immediately, the restaurant was 80% full. My server was attentive. I ordered the lox platter with a side of the hash brown casserole; both were yummy and filling... I ended up taking some home with me. I love that they have a coffee station, they had 3 coffees to choose from, I tried 2 of them. A cute spot that is family friendly.

Emily our server was incredibly sweet & kind. Checked in multiple times and made sure we were good. The food is amazing; really goes with the name of the restaurant - savory. The cafe is family oriented and homey/comfortable.

Savory Cafe has been my go-to for meeting with friends and business associates, so when I was planning my Father-in-Law's 85th Birthday celebration, I wanted to give their catering a try. All I can say is Wow!! They made the process so easy and stress-free. The food was packaged up neatly and securely, making it easy to transport with little effort to set up. ( we opted for pick up) Food was fresh and as delicious as always, everything was a huge hit!! I'll definitely be using them as my go-to caterer from now on!!

    Bentley's Bakery

This business moved from Palmyra to Hershey. It's a unique concept because the space is shared with the Bentley Bakery. I stopped in for the grand opening. The menu looked enticing. The server brought me water & asked if I wanted something else to drink. I told her that I was still deciding on what would go with my lunch. Hot or iced coffee, iced tea, or soda. She didn't come back for over 15 minutes so the hostess took my order. I had the overstuffed Italian wrap which was mostly shaved ham. It was made with shredded cheddar cheese, which was odd with salami & an Italian sandwich. While the non-gender bathrooms were clean & nice, it is odd that the doors open towards the gift shop/lobby area. Patrons need to be cognizant of closing the doors when they leave. Nice parking area but it did get full. The one thing that I noticed, single diners were sat at the two tables near the door rather than in the main dining room. Parties of 2 or more were directed to the main dining area. If you order from the bakery, you pay for your purchases at their register. If you order your "savory" food, you pay for it at their register. I'm not sure how it works if you order dessert with your meal. It's a little confusing with the two businesses where one is full service and the other is cafeteria style.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Savory Cafe. Great food and service AND the staff is so nice and attentive. My chicken salad croissant and salad was delicious. My husband really liked his Reuben. We also got scrumptious eclairs and left with local coffee for a gift.

I've heard good things about this place online, so I thought I'd give it a try. The parking lot is very small and a bit cramped, but I think they're a new establishment and it can't be helped due to the location. Inside I was immediately impressed with the décor; everything was festively decorated for Christmas and it gave off a warm and cozy feeling. There are about 10 seating areas and a cozy nook with a window-facing bench and a few comfy chairs. There's a self-serving coffee station, but you can order a signature coffee. I got the salted caramel and, while the size and appearance of it was appetizing, I felt it was watered down and I couldn't taste any caramel at all. I thought the staff was attentive and accommodating. I ordered the Greek yogurt. While it was tasty, I feel it serves better as a side dish; it was served in a small cup and I was almost afraid it would spill out. The fruit carried most of the flavor, though I got some vanilla notes at the end, and there was no honey on it as advertised. All in all, I'll give this place another shot as it's a decent eatery, but I'm hoping for a more flavorful experience next time.

Warm honey goat cheese 10/10 Loved this! The creaminess of…read morethe goat cheese paired great with the sweetness of the honey. I liked the crispiness from frying the panko crust too. This is fantastic both with or without the crostini bread. The menu did say truffle and hot honey glaze however, I only tasted the traditional honey flavor. No heat or truffle flavors. Crab cake - single 8/10 Crab cake was good. I liked the panko crust on it. It was just a hair dry, so it really needed a sauce. However the whole grain mustard "sauce" that it came with was actually just the mustard, it was not a sauce at all- which does not pair well with the crab cake at all in my opinion- It really needed a Remoulade or aioli, just something more on the creamier side rather than straight mustard. The risotto was cooked perfectly for me, it was hard to tell what the flavor was though without reading the menu (it was lemon Parmesan). I didn't understand how the risotto got its reddish-orange color though since neither lemon or Parmesan are that color. The asparagus was cooked perfectly, and was pretty good. Center cut Filet 9/10 Ordered medium, it was cooked perfectly with a warm pink center. The mashed potatoes were super dry, they needed cream or butter or something to make them better and more flavorful. The red wine Demi was pretty good, you could definitely taste the wine and it kinda also tastes like mushrooms in a way. Asparagus again, was cooked perfect. Vanilla bean Crème brûlée 9/10 The custard was amazing- definitely a 10/10. The sugar on top is what brought me down a point because it was just so thick, it really overpowered the custard a little bit, so a thinner caramelized sugar layer would have been perfect. Chocolate Lava cake 8/10 Yummy chocolate cake with a molten lava center, paired perfectly with vanilla ice cream. The "lava" in the center though was not very much, and definitely needed a little more.

Even on a weeknight, the restaurant was adequately packed, so I would strongly recommend making a reservation if you're planning to dine here. A few things to know before you go: Popular restaurant that can be quite busy, even during the work week. Reservations are a good idea, especially during dinner hours. There is a small parking lot surrounding the restaurant, as well as street parking. Both were full when I arrived. There is a free parking garage across the street behind the storefronts, which ended up being the easiest parking option. For drinks, I ordered the Peach Sangria, and it was excellent. Refreshing, flavorful, and not overly sweet, it paired nicely with dinner and was one of the highlights of the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the: Chicken Marsala Sautéed chicken breast with mushrooms in a marsala wine sauce served over house-made linguini or mashed potatoes & asparagus. Unfortunately, this dish didn't quite meet my expectations. The Marsala sauce itself was decent, but by the time the meal arrived, the linguini was somewhat cold. As a result, the noodles had begun to harden and stick together, which affected the overall experience. Considering the price point, I didn't feel the dish offered good value, and it's not something I would order again. That said, the restaurant's popularity, lively atmosphere, and excellent sangria make me interested in returning. I'd be curious to try some of the other menu offerings on a future visit, as there were several dishes that looked appealing. Overall, while my entrée was disappointing, the atmosphere and drink selection were enough that I'd be willing to give Chocolate Avenue Grill another chance.

The plate had tender, smoky brisket burnt ends mixed with scrambled eggs, melted cheddar, BBQ sauce and crispy onions, all over a generous portion of hash browns, with toast on the side. The combination of the smoky brisket, creamy eggs, melted cheese and crunchy fried onions gave every bite something different. The burnt ends were definitely the star of the plate, and the portion was large enough that you won't leave hungry. The Pumpkin Spice Latte was a great match for the breakfast. It had espresso, pumpkin spice and milk, topped with pumpkin cold foam and whipped cream. The cold foam really made this one stand out. Instead of being just another overly sweet pumpkin drink, you get that creamy pumpkin flavor

The "baby greens" had both chopped up romaine and a spring mix. Again, smaller pieces would have been good. Or even just an arugula and spinach mixture. The romaine wasn't my favorite to pair with this. Alsatian Flatbread 7/10 Bacon was super crispy. Caramelized onions were cooked great.
