I realize these are challenging times for restaurants, but the staff made no effort whatsoever to ensure the safety of their customers by enforcing the mask mandate. People were entering the restaurant without masks and heading to the bar, most people were going to and from the bathroom without wearing a mask, and they hosted a large gathering in the banquet room and many many people were standing up and mingling without masks. They did not have QR code menus and we did not see anyone cleaning e menus. They sat tables back to back and I'm sure they were over 50% capacity. I have been to the Aubrees in Ypsilante and Dexter. The food is always really good and the experience is as well. Service is a bit slow when you sit out on the patio and they have a small selection of beers on tap, those are my only 2 cons. The pizza is delicious... all kinds. The old "the works" sandwich was my favorite! So bummed they took it off the menu. Some of the locations will still make it if you request it... and that would be what I would order. The BBQ Chicken Pizza was a total disappointment. Considering I had the exact same menu item from the Howell location a week ago, this one felt like a complete failure in comparison. Onions and cheese were undercooked, and they put so much BBQ Sauce on it I had to spit it out on the second slice. They can not handle outdoor dining along with the indoor and takeout...so outdoor suffers and they apologize ("the got slammed in the kitchen", "we didn't have a bartender", etc.). We sat for quite a while waiting for any hint of serve, and even longer for drinks and food. They also detour people by offering the 45 minute wait when tables are open, so beware--service issues add onto that wait. This is our third time trying here...and our last. Absolutely terrible service from management and only mediocre food. Find another place to go such as Red Brick or Zingermans roadhouse, Carlyle grill where you will be treated well and the food will be great. In a town like Dexter-Ann Arbor where we have many many choices for dinner, I am totally amazed when mgmt and/or servers are narrow-minded and rude. I ordered a draught beer and took a couple sips and decided it was not good, so I told the server it was bad and ordered a different beer. Then the server came back and said the manager told him I would have to pay for the beer I did not drink. I was totally surprised bc I have never encountered something like that. So I asked to speak with the manager. He came to our table and confirmed to me repeatedly that the restaurant could not afford to lose the cost of the drink and that is their policy. Are you kidding me? Srsly? So that manager is willing to take a stand on this silly issue? The food is not even that great. What if my food was gross? Would the mgmt refuse to take that off my check too? This is not the level of service I expect in the Ann Arbor area. You want to sit me in the bar with my 7 & 8 year old I am perfectly fine with that. What I am not fine with is the bartender who stood 5 feet away from us talking to a customer and using profanity. I am not one of those moms who doesn't swear in front of her kids....but there are words I am not okay with them hearing especially from an employee of an establishment I am paying to eat at. I love Aubree's, and this location seems just as good as the original. Feta bread is the reason I'm not 100 lbs anymore. I realize it's basically pizza as an appetizer for pizza, but screw it, it's worth it to get it. Get a beer while you're at it, you might as well. They have the best pizza sauce I've ever had! I just wish they'd give me more than a tablespoon full when I ask for extra sauce. I've also tried their calzones, greek salads, mac n cheese, and their Kentucky Bourbon burger (as a veggie burger, of course) is the best veggie burger I've ever had... It's all great. I ordered a turkey burger, which i am not sure is what's recommended, at a pizza joint, but I thought it hit the spot. First visit to this location yesterday at 4 pm. Nice location. Clean inside. A little busy but not like dinner rush. 8 of us seated right away. Heidi was our server. She seemed to be in a rush as we just got seated and she asked what we wanted to drink. We have not seen drink menus yet. They had a nice selection of beer for daily selections. We ordered drinks and appetizers. We tried the Cheese Bread for one and the Caramelized Onion Cheese dip for number two. Gotta tell you both of theses were very good. But we had to start eating without napkins, two plates, and utensils as there were none on our table, even after we requested to have them. My wife and I had the Sicilian personal deep dish pizza minus the mild pepper rings. Others ordered Mac n Cheese, Supreme Pizza and one of the sandwich selections. Everyone enjoyed their choices and we really did not mind that the mild peppers we did not want ended up on our pizza anyway. Thought everything was worth the price. Back to Heidi. Very nice but seemed to be unsure of herself and she was not very prompt with our requests for the necessities. She could have been busier than I observed so this may be a unfair review of her service. I would go back if I was in the area. Definitely want to see Dexter again. read more

This has been a place we have come to a lot. Favorites are tater tot nachos and fish tacos. Pizzas and cheese breads are always excellent. Drinks are always good, service is always Excellent! This last time in my wife ordered her nachos & fish tacos, they were so over seasoned and spicy she could not rat them. We let staff know but after starting to eat the heat had ruined her opportunity to eat , even though we also ordered other dishes, but her pallet was already burned by over seasoning.. the fish tacos side was supposd to be Crispy pita chips not sure how busy they were, but they were untoasted. We're local to this Dexter Aubreys, thought we'd get take-out and decided on Aubreys. My wife and daughter ordered the Turkey Reubens and I had a Deep Dish Supreme. My wife and daughter's Reubens were unrecognizable as such. The turkey meat looked processed from a roll \, there absolutely no coleslaw and the bread was burnt. What a lousy way to allow food to go out of the kitchen! My wife and daughter couldn't even eat their sandwiches they were so bad and decided to drive them back to the restaurant which ruined what we thought would be a quiet evening at home. At the restaurant all they could say was "oh they forgot the coleslaw" refunded their money and nothing more for our time & trouble. Although I thought my pizza looked all right at first so I didn't have them return it. After they headed back though I found out that the crust still had raw dough and there was an excessive amount of very spicy sauce which was over-powering. So I ended up paying for a bad pizza which we ended up throwing away. We'll never go there again and I would suggest you shouldn't risk it either. No pride, no quality, that's for sure! read more

I love Aubree's. I lived in Ypsi for several years and recently bought a home in Dexter. I was psyched to see that Aubree's was moving in. We have eaten in a few times and ordered delivery a few times. On Superbowl Sunday we ordered delivery (a few hours before the game) and our pizza was delivered in fewer than 30 minutes - hot, fresh and delicious. Staff has always been super nice when we've eaten in. It's pizza. It's not a high-end steak joint or anything.... they do the pizza thing very well. If you want to eat carefully crafted, creative, expensive food go down the street to Terry B's (seriously, it's really good, but it carries a price tag). If you like really yummy pizza, Aubree's is the place. read more

I've been to the one in Ypsi and this one is Dexter and I definitely prefer this one if you're not going to drink. Do NOT go here if you are looking for any semblance of social distancing. Both indoor and outdoor seating are right on top of each other, and people do not wear masks when leaving their table. It seems like the kitchen staff doesn't care what they're serving which speaks to a larger management issue... The only reason I come back is a select few servers and bartenders who are great, and the decent although limited selection of beers. Bumped up to a three star after my last visit. Everyone else in my group had satisfactory food. The feta bread and pizza we ordered were cut haphazardly, but tasted fine. Ordered the Italian wrap again, hoping the quality would improve. However, it was strike two. Just as bad as last time. At least they're consistent? To make thing worse, the manager who brought our food watched me pick off the onions that I specifically requested NOT be on my salad, offering nothing to correct the situation. I really wanted to like Aubree's. It's close to my husband's office and we frequented North Pointe which occupied Aubree's space previously. We've gone there on several occasions and received okay service, but nothing really to write home about. We went there on December 30th for the pizza buffet as we have many times before. The entire time we were there, the buffet never seemed to have enough pizza for the patrons and there were long lines waiting for food. Due to this, I was only able to have one piece of pizza for the buffet cost. What truly surprised me is no one from management seemed to care or come around to the tables to apologize for the inconvenience. After this last experience, I would eat at Aubree's only if Red Brick or Dexter's Pub weren't open. read more

My friend and I went for dinner on a Monday night. The place was packed, maybe because it has just recently opened. There was a short wait for a table and we ended up sitting at one of the tables near the bar. There were televisions blaring. The noise level was way too high for me. My friend and I had to shout to hear each other. I ordered a garden salad and got the Greek salad instead. Mistake in the kitchen, per the waitress. The salad was huge, enough for two people easily. There was a gluten free pizza which I wanted to try. The sauce was great and the crust was passable. This is the first gluten free pizza I have ordered in a restaurant so I don't really have anything for comparison. I would not go back for dinner because of the noise level. I've eaten here three times. The graph of quality of food and service is a steep downward slope. Yesterday was the worst I've experienced. Service was inexperienced, slow, Big-Boy quality. Actually, we went to Big Boy's afterwards for coffee and dessert (after we were flat out ignored by our server after our meal), and the service was much better. The menu very recently changed; it is now uninspired, mediocre, and chain-restaurant-ish. I feel like I'm at a Ruby Tuesday at the mall. Hosts were tacky and unprofessional; it feels like they hired every high-schooler in the area with little to no training. Food was good not great; did not make up for the immature service all around. Even the bartenders and other servers we ran into managed to be rude and/or indifferent. I'd like to like Aubree's. I live in the area and want to support local business. But it's following in North Point's footsteps of starting out strong and going straight downhill. I won't be back, and I recommend you go elsewhere - Red Brick is a better option. Heck, I'd rather eat at the Dexter Pub across the street - at least the service is decent. read more

The carry out service was horrible! First they didn't take the name on the order when my husband called. Second they never gave me a receipt when I paid in case. I had to wait for my order. When I got home and open the box.... It was the wrong order!! I kept saying I ordered burgers! They called my husband that placed the order but didn't leave a message. We called them back and asked if we can get our right order. Another 10 minutes back to the restaurant, we got our order and no receipt after we asked for the 2nd time. We're from the area and decided to give this new place a try on a Thursday evening. Prior to our visit, we heard from friends that the service was not very good. My husband and son had the pizza (it was pretty good) and I ordered a sandwich. When our food was brought, I quickly realized that was not the sandwich I had ordered. So, I called our waitress over and politely told her that's not what I had ordered and asked for a new one. She responded with "Oh, I thought that wasn't it. I'll take it back".... If you thought that wasn't the right sandwich why did you bring it out? After waiting 25 minutes for my new sandwich that still hadn't arrived, the rest of my family was done eating, my son was getting restless, so we needed to leave. I waved down our waitress and explained to her that we didn't want to wait any longer and asked her if she could simply take it off our bill (since I had never gotten it!!!) She then, rolled her eyes and stormed back to the kitchen without saying a word. Now, by this point, I'm not happy! I understand mistakes happen, and I am not the type of person to complain, but this young girl was so rude and unprofessional! Food is consistently good but never excellent. Wait staff is good but never great. Went for lunch today, had the pizza buffet, everything had been sitting and was either soggy or dried out. Others had the BBQ chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries which they reported as good. Cheese bread and bristle sprout apps are the best things on to he menu.
