The sales staff at Auburn Honda are not ethical people. Since Auburn did not have the car I was looking for, I was tricked into "agreeing" to a price of a mythical non-existent car that turned out to be well in excess of the MSRP Of the car I ultimately received. Note that I was NEVER shown the MSRP sticker or even any pictures of the mythical car on which the exorbitant price was based. When the car was finally delivered after multiple delays, I discovered the MSRP sticker hidden in the glove box the day after I drove the car home. I believe the MSRP Sticker was intentionally not shown to me. I called Jake Overland, my sales agent, who said there is nothing that can be done since I drove the car off the lot. Unsatisfied with this response, I placed a stop payment on my check in hopes that that would give me some leverage to negotiate the price on the actual car now that I FINALLY saw the MSRP on the car I received. I wrote a 4 page letter and sent it to Tom Cline and hoped we could rectify this situation. Instead of reaching out to me in a positive way, Sales Manager Trae DeBeaubien called me today and threatened to call the police and have me arrested for stealing their car unless I immediately delivered a cashier's check to replace the check I put a stop payment on. This is an INSANE way to treat a once loyal customer built over 9 years with the service department, especially Jeff Prestidge, who has always treated me with respect and honesty, characteristics that are evidently not promoted in the sleazy, underhanded sales department. There is a GLARING lack of integrity that permeates this operation. I will pursue a Better Business Bureau complaint, since I realize I will get nowhere trying to get Auburn Honda to own up to their misrepresentations and make things right. They claim to care about customer satisfaction, but they obviously DO NOT. DO NOT BUY ANY CAR FROM AUBURN HONDA. read more

I recently retired and moved to Auburn. My 2018 Ridgeline RTL-E was due for some routine maintenance. Auburn Honda was my closest Honda Dealer. I went in and met Jeremy Kraft, the Assist Service Manager and asked them do the Fluid replacement on the transmission, Transfer case, rear differential and coolant system. Jeremy also did two of the Honda recalls for my truck, the Hood recall and the Back-up camera recall. I found Jeremy to be polite, professional and very knowledgeable about my Ridgeline. He updated me on the job and let me know when it was ready for pickup that afternoon. About 1 week after the service my truck displayed an Emissions Problem information warning light. I was pretty concerned as it had just been serviced. and hoped it was something minor. I called Jeremy and let him know what was going on with the truck. Jeremy was able to get my truck in that morning with a promise they would be able to diagnosis it that day and depending on the problem may have it completed that afternoon. He told me that based upon the code the truck was displaying he suspected it was the Fuel Injectors that caused the light to come on. He advised me if that was the case it would all be covered under the warranty by Honda at no cost to me. They completed the diagnostic on the truck and it was the Fuel Injectors. Honda replace all 6 of them and the problem was solved. Jeremy called me and I picked up my truck that afternoon as he had promised My experience with Auburn Honda on these two occasions was excellent. Although the staffing and technicians have always done their best to take care of my car, I've been dealing with heater problems for the last year and a half on my 2017 crv. It's under warranty and honda is aware that this model year vehicle has a heater issue, but there's no fix for it. In fact, they admit that it does not really work that well, but it's still within the specs that they say you should allow. I actually had to shut the heater off because the cold air coming through was too cold. Hard to be happy about that after spending over thirty thousand dollars on a new car. Every add-on they could think of including a $1000 vehicle tracking device we have no interest in that they wouldn't delete. When we showed them offers from other area dealer they bad-mouth them and say that they aren't legit. We ended up buying from another dealer. I had a noise coming from the front wheel area of my Ridgeline that was bad enough I didn't want to drive it. And then suddenly the noise stopped. I told our sales gal Michelle, and she suggested I talk to either Jess or Stuart in service. I called and was able to talk with Jess. After I explained the noise Jess' first question was "do you drive in gravel ?" I live on a gravel road. Jess was able to diagnose the problem as a probable piece of gravel that first scraped and then fell out. And sure enough, the noise has yet to come back. He saved me a tow. Do not trust this dealership! I should have looked more closely at other reviews before trusting them. Look at the newest reviews and you will see. They play friendly and seem like they have your interest in mind, but they will make as much money as possible off of you to the point that you might as well go to a shady used car lot. I bought an older vehicle, a van, from them. I should have looked up the value of the car using the VIN rather than just googling similar cars for sale. Now that I have actually valued the car through KBB and other sites, it is valued at 7,000 - 10,000 dollars less than what I bought it for. That is not normal or okay! The average that dealerships make off of used cars is around $2,300. I went in there 8 months pregnant and with my 8 year old daughter, looking of a vehicle that would fit out growing family, and they completely took advantage of me and my desperation to get a car before the baby arrived. It is my fault for not looking into the value more prior to purchasing, but I had really thought I could trust them. In addition, the vehicle already has issues. This is after they told me that they only take in used cars that are of good quality and replace anything that is not in great condition. It is a lie! When I reached out to them due to my unhappiness with the vehicle, the sales manager agreed that I owed a LOT on the car for what it was actually worth, but basically told me that they couldn't help. He was so unhelpful and rude. I have owned Hondas since I could drive and have dealt with various Honda Dealerships. My experience has never been this bad. If you love Honda, save yourself trouble and go to Folsom Lake Honda or the Honda in Roseville. read more

We found a used CRV EX at a decent price. We made an appointment at 1pm with the Sales Manager to see the vehicle and made the drive over the hill to Auburn, California. We arrived at 12:50 and we were promptly greeted and the vehicle I wanted to see was ready...kind of. It had just gone through an exterior car wash but the inside was dirty. It had stains on the seats like a soda exploded and red fine dust in all of the vents and some wood chips all over the back. I drove the vehicle and we decided to buy. The vehicle was sent to be cleaned. I assumed that since they were selling a vehicle it would be beautiful when I was ready to drive off into the sunset. We signed the papers and at 4:30 pm the vehicle was supposed to be ready and clean. It had been vacuumed, but that was it. It had already been in their detail shop from 1:30 to almost 4:30, so I didn't think that they'd do a better job if we gave them more time. Since we don't live in California, leaving the vehicle to be properly cleaned wasn't an option. We took the CRV and drove home. We have since bought a shop vacuum to reclean the carpets and I will be taking the vehicle to have the seats professionally shampooed. I have tried two different car cleaners and the stains are not budging. But I am now slightly high from the miscellaneous car cleaning fumes. All in all, we got a fair price for our trade, a fair price for the new CRV, the staff was friendly enough, but the detail shop needs to work on their cleaning skills. I also didn't see that the CRV was missing the back shelf cover. So if you buy from Auburn Honda, make sure the vehicle is spotless when you test drive the car, and all the accessories are in the vehicle, or you will be in my boat and have to properly clean the car yourself and buy a missing accessory. read more
