Before a recent brunch visit, it had been so long since I was last here. Was glad to return, and the brunch was a ton of fun. The breakfast burrito was tasty, but those queso potatoes were the absolute greatest. Apparently their make-your-own Bloody bar is quite the brunch favorite because that was out when we got there. Great Taco Tuesday at this fun place! This has a retro cool modern look and vibe to it. Long bar on one end and tables on the other. Its not very big but definitely feels super cosy and warm. Came here with a friend who is a regular here and highly recommended it to us. And Audubon did not disappoint! The hubs and I shared 3 tacos between us - the fish taco, chicken taco, and the chorizo taco. Quite filling and all were really tasty! Dear Audubon Boston, You are perfect. Love, Tiffiny OK, so I was just in Boston from Friday morning until the wee hours of this morning (Sunday). I was in town to walk in the Boston University College of Fine Arts ceremony, because I earned my MA in Art Education, in December. Friday night, my friend told us about Audubon and since it was a short walk from where we were staying and it sounded like a nice establishment, we all went. Upon arrival, a nice and handsome man with a Boston Red Sox cap on (with a pen tucked underneath), greeted us at the door. A table was not quite ready for us, so we hung out at the bar. Once our table was ready, the handsome man escorted us to our table. Our waitress was awesome, courteous, and genuinely nice. The food at our table was the pork schnitzel, the burger, the steak press, the veggie burger, and the cavatelli pasta. Everyone enjoyed their food. My burger was particularly delicious, it truly had a ton of flavor. Yummo!! Fast forward to Saturday night... My friends, family, and I had just endured a 2 hour graduation ceremony. We were hungry and the list of food establishments that I had made was not panning out. So, we decided to go back to Audubon. Part of my group got to the restaurant before I did. The handsome staff member was there again and had greeted them and inquired about the occasion that was being celebrated. When he learned about my graduation, he offered to print out a brand new menu, that said 'Congratulations Tiffiny!' on it. So, when I arrived I was looking at the menu and boom, there's a personalized message for me. How rad is that?! The food was once again delicious. Turkey Cubano, cavatelli, the special of the night, a swordfish kabob; a burger, and the steak tips. A member of our party is allergic to cumin and it turns out that it is in the carrot pureé that comes with the steak tips. Our waitress was so quick and efficient to get the situation straightened out. She was great the entire night, recommended items to people in my party and even brought us cute little glasses of champagne and sparkling cider, to celebrate. Both nights we were able to sit and chat for as long as we wanted, after the bill was paid. Most establishments say that there is no rush, but then you feel them piercing a hole in your soul, with their firey stare. Not here! They mean it. They want you to enjoy yourself. And it seems that many people other than myself do enjoy their time at Audubon, because it's hoppin' all night. If you couldn't tell by my essay, I highly recommend!! Audobon has the cutest patio for seating with fresh air, best dirty potatoes for a dish with the perfect ratio of ingredients (cheese, hot sauce and even some sausages), and strong drinks (my date and I had dirty martinis and the bee's knees)! Couldn't recommend this place enough for just the right amount of dimness and their impeccable service. After having Audubon bookmarked for months, I finally made it over for lunch one cold, rainy afternoon. I was surprised at how many people were there for lunch but I grabbed a spot at the bar. The bartender was also the waiter and he was super friendly and attentive. After looking over the whole menu, I finally settled on a burger with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. The burger was HUGE and cooked to perfection. The patty was thick and juicy. The only bummer were the side of potatoes. They were bland, cold, and a little greasy. I would have preferred a classic side of French fries with my burger. These were more like breakfast potatoes and they left little to be desired. I've heard that brunch here is phenomenal - so I will definitely be back to give that a try. But in the meantime, if you're looking for a nice spot to grab a bite to eat, a drink, and chat with friends, Audubon is a great option. read more

The cocktails were each fantastic. Obviously curated in house and prepared meticulously with interesting and top shelf ingredients. Atmosphere was great for a mid afternoon drink or two. That was clutch since other spits with a full bar aren't open before 5. Another bonus, the kitchen was open early and the food looked great although it will take another visit to report on their prowess in that regard. This is a place I've visited since pre-Covid. I finally got the chance to visit this place again. They changed their menu, but everything is just as delicious. I got to meet Sophie and Jack, the bartenders, and they were so friendly. I have give a great shoutout to Sophie. The minute I met her, she treated me like we've known each other for years. Can't forget about Taco Tuesday! Classic and brilliant. They have a patio with string lights in the back, which is where I would highly recommend to be a great date spot. Really impressed with this restaurant! I've developed dietary restrictions due to health reasons which have prevented me from going to a lot of restaurants. When my friend planned a going away dinner here, I reached out via email asking if it was possible for them to accommodate me. They wrote back an extremely kind response saying they were looking forward to hosting me- that really made my day. I called to place a catering order for a baby shower 24 hours in advance and the owners were happy to oblige. We ordered plenty of tacos + guacamole + queso. The food was rather mediocre, nothing to rave about. My sandwich tasted like a cubano and that's pretty much all I have to say about that. However, I absolutely loved the cozy patio out back!! The area's not too large, enclosed with wood and bamboo, plus lights strung overhead. Ambience was vibey and their beer selection rather impressive. My friend introduced me to Trappist beers, which are only produced in twelve monasteries across the world (only one in the US: St Joseph's Abbey in Spencer, MA). Amazing gem near Fenway, but mostly neighborhood crowd. Got there when they opened and had the patio to ourself and they even let us pick the music. Another yelp find. This place was great. We came in the late afternoon after arriving to Boston and taking a walk around. We were the only people dining at this time, which was nice. We ate on their patio and it was minimalistic and chic. The drink menu offers a nice array, all great choices honestly. I was in between a wine or a downeast cider. Went with the cider. Great choice. The food was great. First, we ordered their "dirty potatoes" and the salt and pepper shrimp. Then the burger which was cooked to perfection. Everything was flavorful and tasty. I was so pleased we came here. Service was not lacking either. Our waitress was kind and laid back and super patient when we couldn't decide on our meal. This place is truly a hidden gem. My fiancé and I were visiting Boston for two days and were looking for a place that offered strictly outdoor dining. Audubon's menu looked great and the food did not disappoint! My fiancé had a cheeseburger and I had the burrata caprese and buffalo Brussels sprouts, all were absolutely delicious and beautiful presentation. We were also very impressed with both the atmosphere on the patio, the friendly and quick service and how much they were adhering to social distancing and cleaning measures. I'm sad we don't live in the area to dine there more often! Truly a wonderful experience. read more

I've lived by this place for ages and stopped in for the first time under its current management tonight. I don't know why I hadn't come in sooner but I will definitely be back. Tasty drinks, great vibe (a nice quiet hang for a Saturday night, but still lively), wonderful and friendly staff, and a menu that looked awesome. My wife and I were in Boston for two nights and picked Audubon for dinner on night one because it was close to our hotel. We were thrilled with our pick! We had some wine, whiskey and the Brie & fig flatbread with the Farro salad. The food and drinks were a solid four stars, but the service absolutely boosted this review to five. We felt like we were at our favorite neighborhood bar back home - everyone was so warm and friendly, we cannot express how much we loved this restaurant! Hamburger - Good stuff, I think it's their specialty so would recommend this over other entrees. The roasted potatoes that came with were good.. and thank goodness for them since I was craving fries which they couldn't offer without a fryer in-house. Veggie salad with chicken - This was solid, but the dressing was nonexistent. I took my leftovers home and jazzed it up with some buffalo sauce which made me much happier. The chicken was nice and moist and actually worth the full $5 extra. Chips and guac - Tiny portion of bland chips and guac for $10. I feel robbed, definitely don't order this. Roasted cauliflower - Not roasted enough for me, pretty soggy and doused with cheese. My friend enjoyed it, but I found it to be bland. I didn't grab drinks, which they specialize in, so will be back for sure. I had an underwhelming experience with plain old dinner, but will grab some other dishes next time. I've been here a few times now mainly for lunch and after work drinks and I have to say this is a really great restaurant/bar! I love the interior of the place especially the bar set up which has plenty of seating. They also have a patio which is very beautiful and I love to sit out there when the weather is warmer. I've always had great services the times that I've come here, never had to wait long for my food or drinks. I'm only giving the place 4 stars instead of 5 mainly due to the limited menu. Had a very poor lunch experience at Audobon. Went with two friends and started with a round of cocktails. My old fashioned was decent but my friends Bloody Mary was undrinkable, tasting like pure horseradish. Our waiter was not friendly and was unable to explain any of the drink options. We ordered some chips and guacamole and the chips were stale and inedible. The power actually went out during the meal, which I get happens. Instead of apologizing and offering some type of compensation, our server offered to keep our credit card information so they can charge us later. Extremely pleased with the refresh. Audubon keeps nuances of its predecessor's menu, space and edge, while bringing in fresh takes that complement the old masterfully. Not a ton has been done to the interior, and I'm not complaining. Dark panels, sharp angles, killer patio. Played out over the past few years, but Audubon always had an effortless way of pulling off comfort and modern style. Bring a group; sit at the triangle. The yuca cakes are dense - split them. Four dollar dips and spreads are portioned right, sided by lightly grilled pitas. White bean is just that, and a nice starter, although the thought of the same plate being complimentary at Franklin Cafe echoed. Cocktails: Fire in the Orchard ($12), with its smokey mezcal meeting a sweet and savory pear liqueur/apple brandy combo, handily beat out the Ward 8 ($10), an unbalanced take on the Locke-Ober classic. Too much lemon, too little grenadine and if the orange juice was fresh squeezed, it may have been on its last leg. Props for giving origin props - nice touch. The Corn Husk Flounder was the star of the night. A flaky, toasted filet of white fish atop a warm salsa of grilled corn, edamame and red pepper, wrapped in a roasted husk upon a hefty serving of sticky brown rice and arugula. An excellent meal that'll have you scraping the plate, and a steal at $15. Had a bit of her oozing BBT (grilled cheese with basil, bacon and tomato), and wanted more. The touches that makes Trina's and Silvertone successful are there, and I can't wait to see how the new Audubon grows in to them. read more

Service is more important to me than anything. We've been here a handful of times, and usually the service is knowledgeable and pleasant, so I was surprised when right off the bat, our server was less-than-friendly. I'm not a fan of crab, so I asked if the shrimp and crab risotto was pre-made at all. She made a face as if to say "of course not," yet when I asked for it to come without crab she said she didn't think that would be possible. When I started to inquire why it wouldn't be possible since it's not pre-made, she literally cut me off and said "I'll just have to check on that. I don't know, I'll just have to check," and proceeded to walk away. Rude! She ended up returning saying it was in fact pre-made (no apologies), so I decided to go with the burger instead (with gluten-free bun, which is a plus at least)! However, when I ordered my burger I asked for it to be cooked medium. Right before she left our table she said "ok great, medium-well!" So I corrected her to have it be cooked medium. It came back well-done. Like, extremely well-done! It was charred on the outside and dark on the inside. When I brought this up to her, instead of apologizing or even looking at my plate, she just took the plate and said she'll bring another one. At this point my boyfriend had practically finished his food, and I had to wait for an entirely new burger to be cooked. The fact that she didn't even acknowledge the inconvenience or feign empathy was disappointing from a customer standpoint. Yes, she took the plate without question, but it definitely felt like it was just a bare minimum of effort. It felt like she was having a palpably bad day, and your customers should just not feel that while dining. That said, the back patio itself was warm and lovely, the host was extremely friendly. I have not given up on Audubon as our other experiences there were so pleasant. read more

I ordered Audubon for delivery late at night when I just needed a salad but everything was closed. I ordered the kale salad which was... not what I got at all? The listed salad was two kinds of kale, shallots, asparagus, portobello, parm, and balsamic, which I added shrimp to. I received a salad of arugula, quinoa, golden beets, peas, carrots, almonds, radishes, and goat cheese. It's a good thing I actually enjoyed the salad (and that I'm not allergic to nuts...) it was just weird because it wasn't even close. I'm assuming the menu had changed and was never updated on delivery apps, so they just substituted with a random salad. Weird, but the salad was very good and I'm not sure if it's the fault of the restaurant or the delivery app. Only thing I didn't like was the dressing, which kind of tasted the way a spa product smells, so I didn't dress my salad. My boyfriend ordered the burger with cheese, avocado, and bacon, which came with roasted potatoes. The potatoes were great as was the burger, juicy thick and flavorful. Stopped in here for dinner while visiting Boston. My friend had read some reviews online. The ambiance was very cozy and super cute. It was warm, friendly and super inviting. We were seated right away and the staff was super friendly. We had a couple questions about the menu and specials. They were more than helpful. I ended up ordering the roasted chicken which was amazing. It came with polenta that was so good. The presentation was beautiful. The whole meal was delicious. My friend ordered the stew, which was also amazing. The portions were more than filling and the perfect amount. The food was cooked perfectly. Errrmaagawwd! Where has this place been all my life!!? I heard it had new owners which made me excited. Also saw it on Phantom Gourmet and knew it was a sign that I must go. Let me tell you that there are so many great things on the menu you have no other choice than to go back. Possibly several times. So the drinks were so good... I ordered a Pina Colada (yes I know that is for like 12 year olds who hate booze) but it was SO good! Just get one ok... We ordered the grilled cheese and it had chips in it! Yes chips! The rosemary bread was so perfect I could cry. The shrimp was also really good. The pear sauce was a perfect reason to lick your plate. Also had the wings and they were a very different but good flavor (or so I heard - I don't eat meat duh). I didn't have a huge appetite but I want to try the avocado, corn and so much more.
