Made a reservation for a Friday for the steak frites special. $37 for salad, steak and unlimited fries. We also got bread and butter. Everything was delicious and my steak was cooked perfectly. I loved the outdoor seating, especially on such a nice day and the service was great. We arrived around 6pm and it wasnt too busy. But id highly recommend making a reservation since it definitely was packed as the night went on.

Very nice French restaurant in Boston. We only went for drinks and dessert. The bartenders were helpful and friendly. I loved the atmosphere. The Creme brulee was ok. Not the best.

Brunch was great! The bar area has a nice vibe and the service was good. The tuna nicoise salad was very flavorful but there were too many things in it (they could have left out the cucumbers and artichokes). Both the omelette and the eggs benedict were tasty and pretty big. I'd like to go back for dinner.

This is such a pretty spot. It is 2 floors. Sweet server. Everything was delicious! The French onion soup was my fave in Boston so far! It was cheesy, bread was delicious and broth was light but flavorful.

I stopped at Rochambeau on a trip to Boston after seeing multiple recommendations to eat there, and I completely understand why now. I do have to take off a star because of a scheduling issue, but rest assured, it has nothing to do with the food. All sites (including their own) stated dinner started at 4, but when I arrived at 4:20, I was told I needed to wait until 5 because they only had enough staff to handle a private event. I had a flight to catch and was on a schedule, so this was quite frustrating. I had a great experience once I was seated. I started with the baguette, and it was fantastic. It was crunchy and buttery, and the salted butter served with it was creamy and delightful. The dining area is beautifully decorated and contributed to the overall ambiance of the meal. The stars of the show were the wood-fired sirloin and frites. Many people had commented on the fries at Rochambeau, and they were right to do so. They were perfectly cooked, and the bernaise served with the steak was excellent for dipping. The steak was incredibly tender, and the herbed butter on top was delicious. Something to note that I found odd: fountain drinks do not come with free refills, and they are $4 each. Be mindful of this if you are thirsty! Overall, I loved Rochambeau, and it has been added to my list of regular spots when I am in town.

Came here for Sunday brunch a few weeks ago after seeing it on TikTok, and it was just as good as everyone said! The weather was perfect, so my husband and I sat outside before heading to the baseball game. We started with mimosas (they have an awesome bottle deal, but we just stuck to one this time). We got some fresh oysters to start- so good, east coast fresh! My husband had the steak and eggs, and I went for the duck confit hash. Everything was delicious and well made. Great food and a beautiful spot. Definitely coming back to try the dinner menu next time.

Some friends and I came in for brunch at 10am on a Sunday and were able to grab a table right away upstairs. The space is beautiful with an art deco vibe and great ambiance. Shortly after we arrived a jazz singer came in which added even more to the experience. We had cappuccinos and Bloody Marys which were excellent and perfectly balanced. Another friend ordered sparkling wine which was just ok so she added a side of orange juice which surprisingly came with ice. I can't say I've seen ice in a juice that wasn't a cocktail. We split the lemon ricotta pancakes that were fluffy served with whipped cream and berries. They were fantastic and a perfect pop of sweetness. I ordered the mussels and frites which were great and served with a tomato based broth. They had great flavor and I used a spoon to eat as much as possible. The omelette was good but weren't expecting the bacon to be inside of it. The shrimp was fresh but the crab cake was very different and tasted like it had curry inside. It was just ok. Overall I recommend Rochambeau if you are in Boston!

We decided to stop by based on a recommendation from a friend who said their Brioche French Toast is really good. Well they weren't wrong! I didn't order it but I had the pleasure of cleaning up a plate! The slices of toast are really thick but light and airy. I'm not a big fan of banana in my food unless it's banana bread but it was definitely good. It served as a really good dessert for me! I ordered the Duck Hash because I like duck and hash and to have them together seemed too good to be true! So the duck wasn't really all that tasty. It could have used a little more seasoning but it really lacked that duck flavor. The duck itself sat on top of the potato hash which itself was nice and light. The poached eggs were done perfectly and again the bread, was nice. I didn't taste the Salmon Avocado Toast but it was all gobbled up with nothing but crumbs left on the plate so I assume it was good! I also had a Bloody Mary and it was nice and spicy. Our server was nice and very good. He's from New York and recently moved to Boston. I think he'll do well with the food scene.

Honestly, one of the best meals I've had! We ate at the steak room and got the fixed menu. The fixed menu included bread and butter, salad and steak with French fries. The steak was cooked perfectly and the salad was sooo delicious despite it being just lettuce and dressing! The bread melted in your mouth and the burrata was sooo yummy. Would come back again!

It started a little bellow expectation as the area we reserved to sit in was taken by a private party so the anticipated ambiance wasnt achieved. None the less were seated in a comfortable area with no exposure to cold or the kitchen traffic. The food was prepared exceptionally well. The roast duck was prepared better than I have ever experienced. Duck tends to be oily and or gamey this was neither. The bolagnase was perfect blend. The combination with proportion to the pasta .Great flavor. Our server Angel was both engaging and attentive with out hovering. The only draw back was bar service. A simple proper amaretto sour seemed beyond their abilities. Wine list and recomended selection appealed to other members of our group w smiles all around.

I made this reservation about three weeks prior because I flew in town for my graduation and I was so excited to try it. I saw the octopus on the menu and I couldn't wait for some fresh octopus so close to the water. Well.. when I ordered the octopus the server informed me that they were out.. Instead, we ordered a dozen oysters, the Tuna Crudo, the Steak Tartare, Shrimp Cocktail and Salmon with Ceasars Salad. The oysters were delicious and fresh, very enjoyable. The Tuna Crudo was also fresh and it had really good flavor and the sour dough pn the side was a nice touch. The Shrimp Cocktail was simple but so so fresh that it was so delicious! Some of the best shrimp I've had yet. The Samon was seared perfectly that it was crispy without making the Salmon dry! And the Ceasar Salad was so fresh and dressed perfectly as well. After our meal, they brought out a swan ice cream dessert because we were celebrating and the server poured a chocolate sauce on it. It was okay but the bread was not good quality sometimes kind of got stale while eating it. And the Moltent Lava cake was pretty good, perfectly gooey in the center and very enjoyable. The inside of the restaurant was very beautiful and inviting with lots of ambient lighting. Overall, the food was pretty decent. I'm glad I got to try Rochambeau but I probably wouldn't come back.

The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff provided impeccable service. The Prix Fixe menu is a great deal; the steak frites were very tasty. My only small note was a slightly salty salad, but it didn't take away from a great meal. Highly recommend

I had a good brunch at Rochambeau. I ordered the veggie French Omelette, and it was good - I did need to season it a bit, but it was flavorful and the portion was generous. My friends also enjoyed the meals they got - my friend especially enjoyed her Eggs Benedict. As for the ambience, the place is absolutely stunning. It is so elegant, intimate, and has beautiful decor. It feels very chic and upscale without seeming stuffy. The service was good - the food came out quite quick. Overall, a good brunch experience!

I've also never had anyone tell us they do not like the restaurant once they try our recommendation. It's a small, cozy, dimly lit restaurant located at a corner near MGH. Street parking may be tough but there are garages around. The hospital garage may be a bit pricey; I believe the restaurant can validate for another garage nearby. Our must order items from the menu include seared foie gras (5/5), duck magret a l'Orange (5/5), escargot (5/5), french onion soup (5/5, and steak tartare (4/5). I love using their bread to dip with the escargot and eat with the foie gras as they do not come with carbs. During my last visit, I tried the boneless short ribs Bourguignon, I felt like it was a bit dry. I loved the potato croquette that came with the dish though, creamy on the inside with a crispy exterior. The meat did not fall off and melt, maybe it was just that one day. I will stick to ordering duck as my entree as it has never failed us and the cook and flavors are also supreme. Creme brulee is always great to end the meal! Service is alway is great, every server we've had were always attentive. We were given free champagne one year when we told them it was our anniversary too! Definitely a restaurant I will always recommend and visit every now and then.

I was excited to try the "Rouleaux" since they remind me of the eggrolls, my mother learned from her Vietnamese mother-in-law. It was very crispy, which unfortunately is the only good thing I can say about it. The flavor was so off. It's almost as if the ingredients in the Rouleaux were loudly competing for my attention simultaneously! It didn't really melt in your mouth either, it just felt heavy. The other appetizer we ordered was called Dumplings croustillants au poet epics. This was actually worse than first appetizer. I like lemongrass, but MAN the lemongrass was so overpowering. I got inspired by watching youtube to make a jambon buerre sandwich - supposedly a popular quick sandwich for Parisians. The sandwich is half a baguette with butter and French bistro ham. I tried searching all over for the French bistro ham with no luck. The only options were online sources with expensive shipping and/or expensive minimum order sizes. Somehow I stumbled upon MA-France nearby in Arlington and they sell jambon-buerre sandwiches. It's a small shop that sells sandwiches, pastries, and a small offering of French food products. Lots of pastries and baked goods like quiche, tarts, cookies, croissants, etc. The cheese offerings were very limited and basic. I can imagine that the cheeses that they sell are the same types and brands that they use for making sandwiches. For example, they sell President brand Brie - that you can also buy at Costco and market basket. Disappointing, but understandable because they can't afford to buy more variety and more expensive offerings without a big enough client base to buy those cheeses before they go bad. Getting back to the sandwich - it was half a baguette with some thick slices of butter and two pieces of French bistro ham. The bread was kind of dense and the crust was more chewy than crispy. I was disappointed that they didn't bother to spread the butter, but if they're not selling enough sandwiches then they're probably keeping the butter in the refrigerator - making it too difficult to spread. When I got home I fixed up the sandwich to my liking. Overall, the sandwich was okay, but not good enough to make me want to go back. At least I was able to solve my hunger for the jambon buerre sandwich.

The menu refers to these as "Greek cheese bread" but somehow that doesn't do it justice - these were immensely pillowy and cheesy, with an amazing crust, with homemade honey butter on the side. I could have had just these for dinner and been satisfied. They really nailed the bread. My other favorites: 1. Hipiti: spicy whipped feta with crispy potatoes on the side. I don't do well with spice but I absolutely loved this. 2. Marouli: winter lettuce with the most amazing vinaigrette dressing. My only knock to this is, presentation-wise, they serve it with half of the plate empty and the other half with salad. I don't understand why restaurants do this because - one, it only highlights the smaller portion and two, we're just going to mix the salad all around in the bowl anyway. 3. Boudeto: daily catch in a beautiful tomato broth. For a seafood dish at a restaurant in Back Bay, this was priced at a fairly reasonable $28. The only dish that fell a little flat for me was the tzatziki - needed a bit more seasoning. As it was, I was eating mostly just plain yogurt. The table-side preparation was cool, though. The space is its own visual dinner, there's simply a lot to look at (including a drawing of Poseidon riding a surf board). We got the big table in the back, which was a beautiful glass structure with a whole terrarium underneath. We couldn't stop marveling at it throughout the meal. Our waiter was wonderful - very helpful recommendations, came by to check on us often even though we were pretty far in the back, super patient with our questions. Hard to get reservations but worth it! Don't bother driving / trying to find parking unless you're willing to eat a hefty garage fee, it's Back Bay.

They had everything from eggs to sausage to french toast to pasta to tiramisu to muffins to much more. They also have juices, coffee and hot chocolate. The brunch does not include alcohol as that could be added. The service was amazing, our waitress was constantly filling up our waters throughout the meal and checking up on us. The managers were also walking around checking up on everyone. I highly recommend checking out Batifol for brunch on the weekends. You will not leave hungry!

There were very few redeeming aspects to the meal, and we left feeling both disrespected and unsatisfied as customers. The issues started right away. We ordered drinks--including a pear mocktail--but were brought the wrong ones, and then they attempted to charge us for those incorrect drinks. In hindsight, the cocktail mix-up should have been a warning of what was to come. The pear mocktail itself was also quite bad. The service felt chaotic throughout the night. We asked multiple times for additional servings of steak and fries, but were largely ignored. Meanwhile, nearby large tables were repeatedly served, cleared out entire trays, and still received more attention from staff. For an all-you-can-eat steak frites offering, we each received only one serving despite several requests. As for the food itself, it did not make up for the service. The steak was just okay--some pieces were chewy and overly fatty, though acceptable if refills had actually been provided. The fries, however, were terrible. Our first serving was so hard it was nearly inedible, and the only refill we received was just as bad. I also ordered the spinach risotto, which was slightly better than the steak, but it was so salty I couldn't finish it. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.
