I usually never order samosas anywhere (because the filling is usually not very good), but my daughter wanted to try them, so we did. We had the fried chicken wings, my top favorite! They were large, plump, juicy and gluten free! Also fiery beef which was very tasty, coconut rice, lotus root chips (large portion, creative and yummy; will be great later airfried a few minutes), vegetable pumpkin curry with added shrimp (for me, needed a bit more salt, but that's easy to fix. Also, I generally like it a little thicker with the pumpkin mashed in, more so than many chunks of pumpkin, just my preference.) in addition, we got the tea leaf salad and thought it could use more dressing. I should've asked for more. Really loved the flavorful iced tea. It was strong and not watered down like at many places. I'm really looking forward to going back sometime to try more dishes! Food is good but I gave a 2 stars because I ordered the sea bass and was chewing ehat I thought was the skin but it would not dissolve. Found out it was a small piece of plastic wrap. The waitress said its because they use the plastic to wrap in the marinade. So just a warning when eat here, double check yur food before biting into it. Oh also the flies indoor were a nuisance. Another year has gone by and these guys are still our favorite East Bay restaurant, even our very picky 9 year old loves this place. The food is still so good and the staff very friendly. Welp this last weekend I came back to concord n decided to give this place a try since my bf mother lives in concord and been wanting to try it. The waiter there are so nice and explain everything if you're new to their cuisine. Tried a little of each and it's was pretty good my fav was the salad (tea leaf salad) It was very light and refreshing (don't get it if your teeth is sensitive since they have hard nuts and seeds in them) their chicken curry hmm it wasn't bad just wish it was a bit more thick? Since the consistency is like water I'd say it's more like soup. Their palatha was my second fav dish only because the flaky bread I had to order two of them!(it is oily but my god so simple n good) their coconut vege curry it came with was bland. Their chicken biryani was very tender my bf loves how tender their chicken was and it has more flavor than their other dishes there.. overall good experience good food but with a little bit of work and effort it can be amazing. We ordered the veggie samosas, tea leaf salad, and Aung Burma noodles salad Pros: all food was tasty and fresh, quick timing for takeout, friendly staff. Tea leaf salad was really good. Aung Burma noodles salad was a huge portion - got 2 meals out of it! Cons: samosas were pretty small. I was really crazing a rainbow salad. Unfortunately they don't have that and the Aung Burma noodles salad was the closest thing on the menu. But, it was a warm dish and not nearly as flavorful as a classis rainbow salad. We first ordered the crispy pork belly and tea leaf salad for our appetizer. The portions of the order were big. The tea leaf salad is good for 3-4 people. It was perfect for our case. For our entrees, we order the coconut veggie curry and the honey beef with a side of coconut rice for each of us. For the curry and honey beef you can choose your spice level (mild, medium, spicy, extra spicy). We got the honey beef with mild spice level and the curry with a medium spice level. Great outdoor seating right on the corner. Delicious food that has gradients of Indian, Chinese, and Thai. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu but I recommend the Pumpkin Chicken (just in time for pumpkin all of the things). My personal favorite though is the House Fried Rice with Chinese Sausage. This takes me back to my childhood ala the animated movie, Ratatouille. Chinese sausage was my 'bacon' growing up and it's hard to find restaurants that serve it. Especially in this way which is pretty close to how mom and grandma made it. A surprise find - Garlic Noodles. Different from the Vietnamese dish. Medium flat egg noodles are used instead of the rounded chow mein variety, paired with a tangier garlicky sauce. read more

Stopped by here on a whim. Passed by and said, let's check out the menu. When I saw it was burmese food, my sensory of memories remembered the time I traveled to Myanmar and ate the yummy tea leaf salad. I looked at the menu and immediately saw they had it. I knew I had to go in and order to go. By the time I got home I opened the bag. Saw it was wrapped nicely. I had also ordered shrimp on the side. The dish has a tangy flavor from the tea leaf and pepper inside. It didn't taste like I remembered, but none the less I grew an appetite to enjoy their version. Excellent Burmese spot in Downtown Concord. Has that Burma Superstar vibe, for those that know of that place. Dishes are very similar and of course very flavorful. Service is very courteous and nice. What the dishes lack in terms of flavor was made up in terms of quantity! The quantity is huge, easily shareable between two but the taste not so good. I gave 2/5 for taste and 4/5 for quantity. For details, read on. I ordered house fried rice (vegetables option) and mango tofu. The house fried rice comes with basmati rice with carrots, huge broccolis, eggs, peas and that's it. Absolutely no seasoning! Although I like the fried onion (beresta) on top. I love mango tofu, have tried mango tofu in pretty much all Burmese restaurants in Bay Area. This one I will not go back for! I chose the spicy option (I am Indian so I love spicy), but tasting mango tofu I can only taste chilly spice, nothing much. I am even missing mango chunks, which is one of the thing I like about mango tofu. Anyway overall an average Christmas lunch. Although the chef can focus on some improvements to boost the taste. Last but not least, huge quantity! For $9 and $12 fried rice and mango tofu, the quantity is much more than the competitors I will say. read more

I ordered food for takeout after all the rave reviews but my experience was disappointing at best. 1. TERRIBLE customer service- ordered an hour prior but food was still not ready. 2. Then the food itself- the "salt and pepper" was more like salt and salt. I prefer things on the saltier side but this was just salt and more salt. Nothing else. 3. The spicy noodle is not so much spicy. No distinct flavor. Just tasted like the cheaper version of one of those instant ramen noodles. Do NOT recommend. read more

Chicken curry $12.99 - quite salty for me, but very good with rice. The portion is really good and can easily be shared by 2-3 people. Whole tilapia with "spicy" sauce $17.99 - not really spicy at all. The sauce was really sweet, but good. I will ask for very spicy next time. Tilapia has an "earthy" taste (not specific to how they serve it here, it's just how tilapia is). I think this dish woild be better of they serve the sauce with grouper or rock cod. Crispy pork belly appetizer $9.99 - quite alright. The pork is, indeed, really crispy but still tender. However, it needs more seasoning. The dipping sauce isn't that good either, tastea like watered down tabasco sauce. Biryani rice $3 - not much to comment on. It goes well with the curry. We decided to come to Aung Burma after finding that there was slightly limited parking around Aung MayLiKa. The service was great and the food came out quickly. 1. Palatha with Veggie Curry Sauce The curry sauce was delicious and very flavorful. The palatha was also quite good, just very oily/deep fried, which was different from the palatha I've tried in the past. 2. Butter Noodles (Plain) I loved the butter noodles! My friend thought they might have been a bit overcooked, but I really enjoyed the flavor. I wish they made a version that came with mixed vegetables instead of tofu. 3. Veggies Pumpkin Please note: this dish is not a curry! It was like a watery soup with boiled vegetables (not very flavorful). The pumpkin used was also a bit strange -- it didn't seem to be kabocha. I would recommend you try a different dish. 4. Coconut rice I normally wouldn't comment on rice, but we were served rice that didn't seem to be cooked properly. Some sections were very dry (not crunchy), and others very wet/creamy. Overall, each dish we ordered, besides the butter noodles and the honey beef (which I didn't try) had some issues. This restaurant is located in a good area with lots of other shops around, though, so I might be willing to give it another try. read more
