The drinks are really good, my favorite so far has been the grape lemon jasmine tea since it has a strong tea taste even at 30% sweet. However, the wait times have been pretty rough. Last night, I placed a pick up order through DoorDash at 5:55 pm and didn't receive my order until 7:30 pm, so a 1.5 hour wait for 2 drinks. Also, since I did not know my order number because it was an online order, I had to directly ask the staff multiple times if my order was ready. The staff were super nice though and I totally understand it isn't their fault, but I think their ordering system definitely needs to be changed. After this most recent experience I decided to get one of those prepaid phones at Ralphs specifically for the purpose of putting one's phone number into the kiosk. It was actually quite awful without one. My friend that had loyalty rewards for this place asked me to input their phone number while I was here when I put in an order for them. I wrote down the order number and there was a TV outside showing which orders were received and being prepared. I waited for about 30 minutes for the drink to be done since it was busy, and walked in when I estimated it was done, but it hadn't been done by the time I managed to squeeze my way into the pickup area. When I went there it turned out there was no indication of which orders were done so I had to squeeze my way back outside to check again, and finding that it was done, I then had to squeeze my way back in past someone that took up the entire doorway and refused to move because they were busy socializing. Because every single person waiting for a drink crowded around the pickup area and they did not have any audible or visible indication of whose drink was ready inside the store, all people did was crowd around the pickup area in an entirely disorganized manner showing the one staff member distributing the drinks their text messages saying their order was ready. And they received a text message? How was I supposed to get a drink when I didn't use a phone number I could receive texts with? Am I required to use Google Voice for text forwarding to get a drink here now? I think about 6 people with higher numbers than me got theirs first because the staff did not pay attention to me and there was no definite way to communicate numbers to the staff member. I might try this again if the congestion was a result of the specific staff member being inattentive (I noticed they spoke with an accent and switched with someone else while I was waiting). But if I'm not being acknowledged because they're not looking at me, then perhaps I should look at each drink and grab the drink with the right number without verbal confirmation like at Chipotle. However, when I drank it, the pearl boba popped in my mouth and it tasted nasty- turns out it was actually water-chesnut popping boba (which they show on their menu in store but do not explicitly say on their online menu). It was the complete opposite of what I was expecting, REGULAR BOBA. When I went back to ask if they could just remake the drink or switch the topping for me or add boba, the worker told me she could not do anything since it was not their fault. I told them it lowkey was because on the app, there were no descriptions for the topping and it was very misleading how there was no differentiation from "Pearl Boba" and "Brown Pearl"- like what if i didn't want brown sugar boba but just regular boba . Come on--look at Heytea in Irvine, where more than 10 staff members are working to fulfill orders. Everyone's time is valuable. Don't try to use those "hunger marketing" tactics here--it doesn't work, and sooner or later customers will lose patience. Your drinks are not irreplaceable. There are plenty of other great boba shops in Irvine, many of which are much faster than you. We won't be coming back--not because the drinks aren't good, but because our time is more valuable. read more

I finally gave this new spot a try as the long line from its soft launch was gone. To be clear, I still waited for about 30 minutes after ordering almost immediately, but there seemed to be two unusually large orders (8~10+ drinks) ahead of us that were holding up the line. The workers were definitely at capacity and giving their best- in fact, constantly working industriously and quite quickly. I ordered the Premium Jasmine Green Tea Latte for my first impression of the shop, which was certifiably delicious with a floral flavour that made me feel spring breezes, hear sparrow chirp and flitter by. The drink was really smooth and rich, sweet but not too sweet at all, more so than almost every other tea shop drink I've had around. The boba is OK. It had a decent texture, not much flavor, and came in a standard portion size. Nice to have, as in any milk tea drink, but tapioca is absolutely not the draw of this shop. The drink defaulted to 70% sweetness, which tasted great though I was worried it may be too sweet. I'll definitely be playing with the sugar level, seeing how low it can go before it changes for the worse or reveals masked flavours. I asked for no ice and boba, which came out to about $8 for a large drink- somewhat expensive, but unfortunately becoming pretty typical for boba drinks. The smaller size with no boba is a little cheaper at between $5-7+ dollars depending on the drink. Interior is small but nice, playing pop tunes that have become typical of boba shops like this. Honestly fantastic, and excited to try more drinks here, including their "super food boost teas" which I'm somewhat skeptical about but nonetheless curious. read more

been here several times during their soft opening and after their grand opening! i love their drinks but they definitely need to work on service & efficiency - i assumed their wait times were long due to their bogo deals or grand opening .. but my last visit took 45 minutes for 1 tea drink.. when we got in line, it was the shortest i've seen it compared to the last time i went. when we walked in to order - we ordered on the kiosk as there was no one taking orders at the counter. usually inside is packed with people waiting for the drinks and it's a very narrow waiting area with some seats and tables against the wall. i luckily was able to snag a seat right infront of the pick up counter and would watch the same people walk in and out asking their order was ready yet - mind you these are all people that ordered before we even got in line... my 2 friends that ordered only a smoothie after me got their drinks 10 minutes before mine. when my number was finally called - i got up quickly and literally took 2 steps to the counter. the employee that had JUST called my number walked away, came back a minute later and isn't making eye contact with any of the customers waiting in front. another employee walks over and they're both not making eye contact and just handling and looking through the drinks in front of them. i ask them if order #267 is ready and the one employee is frantically looking through the drinks when she had just called my number and set my drink down - i just pointed to my drink and said "it's that one" also the POS system they use - chowbus - did not notify anyone through text when their order is READY. only when your order is placed - so they definitely need to sort that out because Molly Tea uses the same one and i'm always notified when drinks are ready. this also explains why so many customers had to come back inside to ask for an update on their drinks. i saw coffee options on their website but they said they don't have it at this location - not sure if it's only that location or all US locations other than that, drinks were great! but as for the strawberry green tea crystal punch i wouldn't let that sit in the fridge for over a day as it got rlly sour. * classic mango pomelo sago (smoothie) * strawberry green milk tea daifuku * matcha strawberry fresh milk * premium jasmine green tea latte * strawberry crystal green tea punch read more

From a basic milk tea latte perspective, this place is not bad. Their lattes have flavor, unlike other boba shops that seem watered down. However, the wait alone to come here is not worth it. Grand opening day, long waits are expected. But as weeks went by, the wait hasn't gotten any better. And mind you, there are other shops that have long lines but the amount of time it takes at time of order placement until order readiness is wild. Today it took 52 minutes from the moment our order was submitted. What I notice is that there's also a dependency on a single machine. When the employee is delayed working on it, the queue just continues to grow so the staff just can't keep up. Placed an online order around 6:40pm last night and the app said it would take 50 minutes for drinks to be ready. We arrived at 7:00pm and checked in with the lady at the counter, she said it is not ready yet. It was very crowded and you can see how overwhelmingly full the place was. I asked the lady when our drink would be ready, for her to reply that they are only working on drink order number 550 when ours was 606. Thinking that our drinks may take another 20 minutes, we went for a walk. When walking out, I realized that there was a queuing screen at the front of the store that would tell you when drink are ready or in progress. Referring to the kiosk, we waited another 15mins, our number finally showed up for the ready. Happy approached the counter, and they were still behind with their drinks and working over time. All in all, we waited an extra 1.5 hours from when they said the drink was going to be ready... We did not get our drinks until 8:30pm. Other people were also asking for refunds. The system is outrageous and this place needs to be more organized. They should cap the amount of cups/ orders per hour. Unfortunately, this would be the first and last time we visit this store. do not come here until they've figured their stuff out... their drinks are not bad by any means, and pricing is fine, but the wait is ridiculous. i have never had to wait this long for drinks EVER. your ticket times should be 15 minutes max; management needs to put more people on shift or staff need to have some sense of urgency because there's no way people should be waiting for over an hour AFTER placing their order to get one or two drinks. there's only one way to place your order and that's through the single kiosk they have. it doesn't really matter if you can place your order faster because there's guaranteed a queue of like 40 people before you anyway. hungrypanda will state they're closed but they've just shut down their mobile ordering to prioritize guests in store. if you do come here, place your order first and go walk around tokyo central or something :/ or just go home and come back when they text you the boba was soft and chewy, but it felt like they REALLY skimp on how much boba they give you. and you can't tell cause of the cups! i ran out of boba like halfway through my drink, which is super rare for me. the orchid tgy milk tea is light and floral. 50% tasted like a typical 25%, so you can afford to order at 70% or 100% sweetness tbh. was told the mango sago drink was also good! sadly i'll have to come back when the hype dies down and they figure themselves out. price is decent and taste is good but does not warrant an hour wait! read more
