Finally waited in the line for the new Auntea Jenny opening in Irvine. I've tried Auntea Jenny before in New York and loved it there so I had high hopes. I waited about 45 minutes total on a Monday. Despite around 30% of the menu being unavailable, such as the taro mochi milk tea I was excited to try, I would say the experience was still worth it and I'll be back at a less busy time when more of the options are not run out. I'm a sucker for glutinous rice topping in my milk tea and find it hard to get in Irvine, so I tried the red glutinous rice milk tea here and loved it! They give you a lot of rice topping so it's almost a meal in itself but no complaints here, it was perfectly sticky and complimented the milk tea well. The mango coconut punch I tried was good too, but I do believe I've had better similar blended mango drinks elsewhere, like at HeyTea or Hui Lau Shan. I came here a few weeks ago and the wait was atrocious! Luckily there was both Mitsuwa and Tokyo Central nearby so my friend and I were able to kill time there. It was super cramped and crowded inside because everyone was waiting for their drinks, so we would just pop in and out to check. It took them about an hour to finish making them. I probably won't be back for a while until the hype dies down. I got the strawberry green fresh milk tea daifuku. A 30-minute wait is simply not worth it for a boba place. The real issue here is the service, especially at the order pickup area. There was one staff member calling out the orders, and I was honestly amazed at how slow the process was. For a good 15 minutes, she was just wiping down drinks while several completed drinks were already sitting there waiting. No orders were being handed out, even though she could have easily called multiple orders during that time. On top of that, she looked visibly unhappy and almost disgusted with what she was doing. If you're coming here, I would highly recommend ordering it in advance! There aren't that many seating areas, so definitely not a place to come and hang out. It's a place to go in and pick up your drink, though there are tables outside by the complex area. You can order through your app or you can order via kiosk. I ordered through the app and didn't realize there was a way to customize the drink so it came with the 70% sugar and regular ice, I would've adjusted it had I known. I tried to get the mango coconut saga but they gave me the one with grapefruit instead, I also got the six-berry glow boost tea, and finally the classic Matcha Boba Fresh Milk Tea. Mango Grapefruit - The drink was a little sweet but that was my bad, the mango tasted really fresh though and it was a great non-caffeine drink. I would see myself ordering this for dessert in the future. Six Berry Blow Boost Tea - This drink was really refreshing and light, the boba was popping boba so that was fun to drink. This was extremely hyped online when they first started opening stores here in SoCal so I've been wanting to try it. However I didn't want to drive out of my way and I'm glad I never did. I finally tried it today since I'm in the area. The plaza that it is located in is very popular with many other stores so the parking was packed. We were able to find a space but they are sort of tight. (Don't worry, didn't knock any stars off for this, just mentioning it.) The line to order was short because they had two kiosk to order from and one person who can take orders. They had several employees helping to make the drinks so it was pretty efficient but it was still about a 15-20 minute wait to get my one simple drink. I do very much appreciate that they had some cute seating for people to wait and take a seat. It's not many so don't plan to come and study here unless you get here early and you don't mind the crowds coming in and out often. The biggest reason I gave this place 3 stars was that the drink didn't taste like anything special--quite average or dare I say, less than average. I got the premium matcha boba fresh milk tea, less ice, 70% sugar (recommended) and it tasted watered down. My husband liked the boba since it was brown sugar and chewy. The drinks are decent compared to other boba spots. It's definitely cheaper than most places, but the drinks are also a bit less flavorful. The main pain point is their pickup process. They have a screen showing "Ready" and "In-Progress" order numbers, and it seems like the staff rely on that when customers ask about their order status. I ordered online, and nearly an hour later my number was still listed as "In-Progress." I asked a staff member if my order was ready, and they just looked at the screen and said no. Later I found out my drink had actually been sitting there ready the whole time, even though the screen still showed "In-Progress." Who knows how long it had been out. The inside is also extremely crowded, with limited seating and standing room. It felt like a lot of people were just standing around trying to figure out whether their order was actually ready. Their fruit drinks are definitely better than their milk teas, so if you're trying here for the first time, I'd recommend their fruit drinks. The Mango Pomelo tasted more like a mango smoothie with Pomelo pulp, and the sago wasn't very noticeable. Overall a good solid mango drink, I got it 50% sweetness and it didn't taste bitter or tart at all. The Glutinous rice drink was okay. The milk tea again wasn't very strong in tea flavor, and most of the flavor actually came through from the glutinous rice itself. I wouldn't recommend anything less than 70% sweetness as it wasn't very sweet overall. If you wait a bit to drink the glutinous rice, it may also be a bit difficult to drink since the rice clumps up at the bottom. Probably the worst experience I had at a boba shop. I arrived around 1:20pm on a Thursday afternoon. There was a line but it kind of quick. At first I thought there were three screens to order but I realized of them showed the menu and there was really only one screen to order from. After placing my order, I ended up waiting about 45 minutes which was a really long time. I was waiting inside the store and noticed that there were only 4 people making drinks and they were very slow at making them. They also didn't call people's orders right away. In addition, people kept coming up asking when their order would be done, which shows they aren't very efficient making the drinks quickly. I also noticed they didn't send a text confirmation despite asking for a phone number which I wish they did because 1. I forgot my order number. 2. If I was waiting outside (which a lot of people were) and my order was done, I would like to get a text to notify its completion. They really only called the number and I had to go up to check and make sure it's my drink. I ordered the taro boba fresh milk tea and it was a good drink. I like that they use real taro. I'm not a fan of boba but the boba pearls were good. Despite the drink being good, the wait was not pleasant. Here on their soft opening and in a city with so many boba tea shops, I'm not impressed. The drinks are fairly decent but not standout. I didn't dock any points for drinks since I did their preorder and I couldn't make any adjustments. The service however isn't great. I understand it's busy for soft opening but it just looks like none of the staff cares or enjoys their job. I was sent to the wrong line without even asking me what I was there for. I had to proactively try to get the attention of a staff to ask questions. Even when I asked the cashier if the drinks have dairy, they seemed so annoyed at my question. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect the staff to be all sunshine happy rainbows but I'd like to not feel like I'm a bother or a burden to be at the business. Their prices are also a bit higher compared to other boba shops. Without adding any toppings, some drinks already cost almost $8, which is insane since the size is pretty average. Considering how many boba places are close by with slightly better prices, I probably wouldn't return if there wasn't a promotion going on. It's located in the newly remodeled Heritage Plaza, so parking should be relatively simple, but it can get crowded at peak times. Finally got to try Auntea Jenny and see what the latest hype is about! Came on a Wednesday night around 7:30pm before they closed at 8 and there was quite a lot of people waiting inside. However, there was no wait in terms of ordering with the cashier, I was able to walk in and immediately order. The staff who took my order was patient and kind. I initially wanted to do the "buy three drinks for limited merch" but they were already out of it for the day (which made sense as it was close to closing and I saw somewhere online the horse plushie was only for first 15). Also didn't realize that the limited red cup was only for the premium jasmine green tea latte oops. So I just ended up getting two drinks for me and my friend. I got the strawberry green fresh milk tea daifuku while my friend tried the signature red glutinous fresh rice milk tea. After ordering, the wait was a bit long (~30 min), so it seems that there were just too many drinks for them to keep up with so it did feel a bit slow, but I do understand this was probably already pretty quick since they're still figuring out the flow and training the team. There are some seats and tables in the store, but it did get crowded very quickly and it was a bit hard to see when the drink is ready unless you're sitting right in front of the counter. There is a staff member capping the drinks (I do appreciate the extra layering aside from the sealing of the cups) and calling out the order numbers, as well as a screen that shows the completed orders and those in progress. As for the drinks, I will say they are pretty good! The strawberry fresh green milk tea daifuku at 30% sweet was just right for me. I would say it's a good mix of being slightly creamy and fruity. I like the strawberry bits that give the drink its sweetness. I also really enjoyed the daifuku, it basically tasted like mochi so it was slightly chewy and had a milky flavor. I do wish there was a bit more tea flavor, I could tell it was fragrant, it was just a bit on the lighter side and could be overpowered by the milk, strawberry, and daifuku topping. I didn't personally try the glutinous milk tea, but my friend did say she liked it! There was a lot of the rice bits, so definitely suggest mixing it thoroughly. Overall, a very solid Chinese tea shop addition to the Irvine area! I have been to their Rowland heights location but I came the the three drink and horse plushie deal! Their Irvine location is bigger than their Rowland heights location and there is ample parking on a weekday! It's in the same plaza as the Tokyo Central! I got the Kale Fiber Boost and the Peach Oolong Latte which I really love. I forgot the Kale Fiber Boost is very sweet and even though I opted for 50% sweet, I wish I did 25%. I tried the Strawberry Daifuku drink at Auntea Jenny and thought it was just okay. It was creamy with a light strawberry flavor and not overly sweet, but nothing about it really stood out. It tasted decent, just not memorable enough to justify the hype. The ambience was alright -- I actually liked the decorations and the overall store vibes. It felt cute and trendy, which made the experience a little better while waiting. Service was polite, but it felt a bit hectic because of how busy it was. I waited about 30 minutes in line and then another 30 minutes for the drink to be made. For a drink that tasted pretty average, an hour total just didn't feel worth it. We waited 50 minutes for our drinks. -Lemon Jasmine Tea Punch 5/5 -Strawberry Green Fresh Milk Tea Daifuku 4/5 -Brown sugar milk tea 5/5 -Glutinous rice milk tea 4.2/5 Other than the long wait times, the PROMOTIONS going on are falsely advertised or they ran out the same day of the promotion. Ie. The buy 3 drinks and get free lunar new year merch, the deal on the very same day was supposedly sold out by 11am and there will be more avail tomorrow. I'm sorry but I don't believe they ran out that fast, on a rainy day. Either way, a management issue. A very cute small shop and overall, good teas. read more

Came here during soft opening weekend randomly after we ate lunch nearby. There was a small line to order but that went by fast. The wait for the drinks after ordering was about 20 mins. I tried the Da Hong Pao latte which the employee explained is a really strong roasted oolong vs the tie guan ying as a really strong green oolong. The tea latte was very good with nice strong tea flavor. I normally get tie guan ying at other places but I will definitely get the da hong pao here again. The store is nicely decorated and staff were nice. The only suggestion I have is that it would have been better if they placed a screen showing the order numbers facing the front of the store as well instead of only having it at the back facing the side. The store was very crowded inside with people waiting for their drinks and it was very hard to see the screen with the order numbers. read more

Came to auntea Jenny to see what the hype was about and they didn't disappoint! Came on a Tuesday and ordered 3 drinks. We got the jasmine tea latte with oat milk, kale fiber boost, and kale vitamin c boost. All were very good. We added boba to the jasmine milk tea and it was yummy. The kale drinks were also super yummy. The fiber one had crystal popping boba that we weren't expecting but also super good. We got our drinks 4 mins after ordering. I would come back! read more

I think about Auntea Jenny's mango pomelo sago way too often, so I'm thrilled they opened in OC. This location is more spacious than the Rowland Heights one, but still no seating. They're in soft opening and open until 8pm. Even though it was super busy, it didn't feel crowded at all because they were efficient. The counter looked a little chaotic (like 10 people back there, 8 making drinks), but orders moved fast. You can also order select drinks for pickup on Hungry Panda. Soft opening has a deal of 2 drinks for 20% off. My go-to is the mango pomelo sago, and it easily beats any other version I've had. Fresh mango, nicely sized sago, and super refreshing. Sadly, they were out of grain tea jelly on a Friday night. Overall, their teas and fruit drinks are solid. I haven't tried their matcha, but it looks pretty strong and dark in color. I swung by today for their soft opening, which includes a combo discount if you download the hungry panda app you can either pick between two different combos: Combo A: with jasmine milk tea, and strawberry daifuku milk tea (i got this one) Combo B: which includes a glutenous rice milk tea, as well as a fiber tea. Overall, it was really well organized, and the wait wasn't too long. The milk tea is so interesting-- and it's my first time seeing those mini straws that are very popular in China! the purpose of the mini straws so that you could savor the pure taste of the milk tea! I'm unsure how that is supposed to work, but the tea is indeed delicious! Super excited to welcome them into the neighborhood and I hope I can try more things from their menu ! read more

i've been seeing this place literally everywhere on social media, so i had to try it out! i went on a wednesday around 5 pm, and it was sooo crowded, so do be prepared for a rather long wait after ordering your drink (my drink took about 1 hr to be made)! i would say ordering online, or ordering in person and then going to eat at one of the restaurants nearby or supermarkets, would probably be the best way to spend your time waiting. for my drinks, i tried the signature red glutinous rice fresh milk tea and the premium jasmine green tea latte (not pictured). i really liked the glutinous rice added to the fresh milk, but i wouldn't get this drink regularly because i feel like the milk tea base itself wasn't as flavorful in comparison to match the rice. however, where they really shined was with the jasmine green tea latte! even though waiting an hour for just a jasmine green tea latte sounds atrocious, it was so good and had a great balance of sweet and tea flavor. i would definitely get this again once the hype dies down and the wait isn't too bad! read more
