    So cute inside
    Joyce Y.

I was pleasantly surprised by my watermelon and coconut slush with agar boba (I believe)- I got it 50% sweet and it was perfect and delightful, and you could taste the freshness. This location is by Blaze Pizza and Amazon Hub inside the University Center plaza (where Target, Trader Joe's and Chick-Fil-A all are). The service was great- a sweet girl working today (7/31 in the morning) was so accommodating- I was with my toddler in a stroller. The ambiance inside is super minimal and pleasing. The menu is broken down in categories, which I think will help the overwhelming-ness on what to order. There's a lot of boba and drink spots in this plaza, but I think Owly will do well, because they also sell crepes! Parking is all around this center, but I parked by Trader Joe's and got some shopping done afterwards.

Such a cute boba tea and crepe shop! The atmosphere is very welcoming, clean, and nice. The owl theme is adorable for the cups! The drinks and crepes are tasty! The service is kind. I would definitely go again! The ube sticky rice drink at 50% was perfect!

Such a cute spot for crepes and refreshing drinks! The $9 Summer Combo is an amazing value, and the old-school crepe with their house-made custard is a must-try. perfect place to stop by for a sweet summer treat. IG: socalhkfoodies

Love myself a good crepe so I was really happy when owly opened. They don't have a big variety of crepes but I think the ones they do have are solid. I tried the old school crepe which has strawberry, banana, and Nutella topped with a crepe brulee type topping. It was good and definitely will soothe any rich sweet craving you may have! I have not tried their drinks yet but would love to come back and try. The inside is neat and has a playful atmosphere. There was plenty of parking (summer weekday evening, might be more crowded when uci students are here). You can order via kiosk or with a cashier.

Such a cute coffee shop! I ordered the Banana Matcha Latte and the Strawberry Banana Brûlée Crepe. The staff were friendly, and everything came out in about 10 minutes. The Banana Matcha Latte was good, but it didn't really stand out. I could barely taste the matcha, though the banana foam was delicious and tasted like real banana. I just wish it had been a little thicker. The Strawberry Banana Brûlée Crepe, on the other hand, was sooo good. Definitely worth ordering! They also have a variety of unique drinks that looked delicious, so I'll definitely be back to try more!

Owly is now my new favorite sweets spot. Good drinks and amazing crepes! I got the butter sugar crepe. It was amazingly delicious hot and crispy. It's so affordable and at the best price! I got their mango pomelo drink and it is also delicious. The area is clean modern and quirky with open space. Enough spot to hang, study or work. Waited about 10 mins max for everything. Everyone was friendly and helpful!

I went midday during the week and there was no wait at all! I'm thankful the lines have calmed down. The service was great and gave me some suggestions since I wasn't sure what to get. I ended up with the mango avocado at 50% sweetness and it was so good!! Perfect amount for sweetness for me. The agar boba, pomelo and mango combined so well with the avocado. I'm obsessed with avocado smoothies and the toppings really elevated the drink. Inside was really cute and minimalistic. I could see this as a great place to catch up with a friend or do some work. I will definitely be back!

Cute new boba shop in UTC! I arrived around 12pm on a Monday. The store had plenty of tables and seats but it was pretty empty. I ordered at the register and my drink came out a couple minutes later. I ordered a banana matcha with less sweetness. The banana flavor was spot on but it was overpowering the matcha. It was also a bit too sweet for me. Still a good drink. Would come back and try more, especially the ube drink :)

    Kristine Y.

The new IT spot that lives up to the hype IMO. We did have to stand in line but the line moved pretty quick. Was greeted with a super friendly smile. The menu is different and fun. Not huge, which is a plus! The cashier was great at suggestions and describing what each drink or crepe was. Love how you can see everything is fresh and made to order. I suggest if you do get a crepe eat it straight away. My favorite was the mango drink. Heavenly! The sitting area is fun and whimsical. Best thing is it was kept clean even with all the foot traffic. We wanted to try everything so I know we will be back!

    Guava Peach

Another boba shop at UTC but they also have crepes! Banana matcha was on the sweeter side even with the "less sweet" adjustment. I personally like my matcha to be on the stronger side, so to me, this drink was a little lacking of that. The banana cream was very good and pairs well with the matcha. Because of the sweetness of the banana, I personally would get this drink with "no sweet/sugar" next time. Guava Peach is a blended guava drink with peach bits. I got this with "no sweet/sugar". This drink is very refreshing. It was a bit icy at the beginning but my drink melted after sitting in my office and it was still great. Crepes smelled amazing but I didn't get a chance to try. Perhaps next time. Customer service was ok lol. They were there to do their job and didn't go out of their way to do anything beyond that. They seem to be a little co fused when I asked them if Guava Peach was a blended drink and they were like "no it's not and then said oh it is actually" lol. Like did yall not learn what you are selling? The store itself is small (they replaced Pink Pig). I think I waited about 10 minutes to order and another 10-15 minutes to receive my drink but granted they were quite busy during lunch hour.

    mango pomelo
    Sharon C.

Finally got to try the newest boba shop at UTC that replaced Pink Pig! My friend and I came around 12:30pm and thankfully there wasn't a line out the door since the past few days whenever I passed by there was always a line outside. The ordering process was easy, you can just order with the staff member, and the person who took our order was nice. I got the Luminous crepe while my friend got the Old School. We also got drinks to pair with our crepes, which I had gotten the mango pomelo while my friend got the peach jasmine tea. Drinks came out pretty quickly, while the crepes did take a bit longer (to be expected). There were a few staff who focused on the drinks while the other staff did the crepes, so our number had to be called twice (so be alert if you order two different things). But I think we got everything within 15min which was good. Starting with the drinks, they were pretty good! For my mango pomelo, I got the least sugar (which they said was about 25% sweet) and it was just right. I liked the fresh mango flavor and the coconut milk went well with it. It also comes with some agar boba which was nice as well. I'm glad that this met my expectations because I know nowadays a lot of drink places have this type of drink. For my friend's drink, she got less sugar (50%) and it was refreshing. The sweetness mostly comes from the peach bits, so I definitely recommend mixing it thoroughly because the first sip was a bit on the tart side. As for the crepes, I will say it's just okay, wasn't anything special. The first few bites were good because all the toppings balanced each other out (for Luminous, I enjoyed the mango and peach bits as well as the mango ice cream), but towards the end, it kind of got way too sweet with the custard cream. I struggled to finish because it was so sweet (but also because I got full pretty quickly). It also got really soggy by the end. I will also say that although the packaging was cute, it was kind of hard to eat the rest of it without ripping the paper cone, which got kind of messy. Overall, a solid drink place at UTC! Their concept of being a tea and crepe place is unique and the interior was pretty cute and had a good amount of seating (there were tables with chairs as well as two bigger couch chairs). However, personally, I would just stick to getting their drinks, and only rarely would I come for just the crepes (unless I share with someone). I would definitely come back again to try their other drinks!

    Vivian C.

Super cute interior and couple tables to chill and do homework! They have variety of drinks and crepes options but not overwhelming! I wish I get to try the Oreo crepe maybe next time!! Love the creme brulee crepe! The drinks are not too sweet which is perfect! Got the Sumer combo for $9 with lime jasmine latte + sweet butter crepe

    Stephanie C.

Cute spot with a small, but fun menu. Our two drinks came out pretty tasty, service was friendly, and prices very fair for the size. Love the attention to detail at this new boba spot :)!

Sure, I wish I had more because I was sharing this (I could have eaten a large one by myself but I had to restrain myself). It was light, fresh, and not too sweet-which is what I really prefer. Both items looked delicious...but the flavors were quite bland. The pomelo & mango with sago had a mini amount of pomelo sprinkled on the top while there's an overwhelming amount of sago. The mango chunks were good but not too sweet. The mango pudding, mango ice cream and coconut milk lacked distinct flavors. We've had the same dessert at Hui Lau Shan in Hong Kong as well as other Asian dessert specialty shops in OC...the one at Hui Lau Shan Irvine just does not taste right. Same problem with the egg waffle...not sweet enough, and although the paper container is adorable, the design also made the egg waffle get soggy quickly. The cashier told us the credit card machine wasn't working, so the only payment options were cash or sending a Zelle payment directly to the owner. There was a small handwritten sticky note with an individual's name and phone number for the Zelle payment, which felt a bit odd. To be fair, there wasn't a large selection available when we visited, so it's possible they have other pastries or desserts that are much better than what we tried. However, based on our experience, the item we purchased was disappointing, and the $12 definitely didn't feel well spent.
