Really love the interior of this place. Makes you feel like you're in Italy - it's really well done. The service here was impeccable. Friendly, knowledgeable, and served us well. They give you bread with focaccia and the focaccia is excellent. As for the food the portions are great! I ordered the Speghetti carbonara. It was pretty good but a bit over salty. I wouldn't get it again. We also got the farfalle alla buttera and we added shrimp. Both the shrimp and chicken unfortunately were over cooked. The sauce was on the bland side. Just wasn't for us this time around. We also got a spicy peach tini- it was pretty good but had too many jalapeño seeds on it. read more

The food is delicious. We went on Mother's Day so we expected it to be busy. The bread truck had not made a delivery we were told. In that situation, I would have sent someone to Strak's to purchase their freshly baked Italian bread. You could count the peas in the chicken vessuvio. My family came in January for a birthday and everything was wonderful! So 8 of us decided to meet on Sunday 9/21 for another family member's birthday. What a disappointment!! The food this time was terrible. We started with a couple of appetizers one of which was the frito misto. The calamari was like rubber & we sent it back. They brought out another plate which was almost just as rubbery as the first. The meal came with minestrone soup which was like tomato water with a few undercooked vegetables floating around. No one of the 8 at the table finished it !! No one! That should tell the chef something! One entree, pollo francaise, was under cooked & looked disgusting. That went back completely. The bolognese sauce was ok but overly salty for my liking. What happened?? Did they lose the original chef? We spent a lot of money on awful food. We won't be back. read more

We landed here on karaoke night. It was very loud. While the restaurant is separated, the wall does not go to the ceiling. A few of us complained as we could not hear ourselves talk across the table and they did lower the volume. There was also a party there that evening which caused the waitstaff to be short. It took a while to get a waiter but once he acknowledged us, it was good after that. We started with the grilled calamari. Not my choice as I prefer it fried only but my friends enjoyed it. I tried a piece and it was seasoned well with peppers for heat. I had the chicken parm. It was okay but not good enough for me to eat leftovers. It was a decent size and came with fingerling potatoes which were good. My friends had the farfalle which was better as i stuck my fork in one plate. Ambiance =6/10 Service = 3/10 Food = 2/10 My beautiful wife and I walked in on Sunday evening, decor ambience was promising, We had reservations and they sat us at a 4 top the host, who was very friendly. We were then approached by a waiter who was ready to take our drink order after less than a minute. Did not clear out the other 2 glasses and napkins that was equipped for a four person table. But just decided to ignore that we only needed 2 water glasses and 2 napkins... We then put our appetizer order in which was a sub par grilled calamari mixed with vegetables as to try and hide the quantity of the calamari. ( don't order) . We were then waiting on drinks and blue cheese salad for over 10 minutes (which by the way they charge $3 dollars for dressing that comes on a free salad. The buss boy was more on it than our waiter who in between orders was showing his phone to the host. He the buss boy asked if we wanted bread.. I thought the waiter should have been on top of that.., he forgot my wife's salad dressing, he forgot my glass of wine which I had to remind him of.. and saw another waiter asking customers if they wanted fresh pepper. Which our waiter never asked.. on top of that he was very touchy feeling which is very uncomfortable and unprofessional. Please don't touch me on my back like we're friends or family. Also having a" circus mustache " at an Italian restaurant as a waiter is very unsanitary. If you want subpar experience and quality of ingredients and amateur Italian cuisine, this the place. My suggestion would be to go to Olive Garden. At least they are consistent with subpar quality. My advice to the owner would be to hire a " chef" not a breakfast cook , trying to cook Italian. 2 outa ten . Pricing is ridiculous for the level of quality. read more

For the first time in my life I returned to a restaurant to again have the same lovely dish I enjoyed the prior night. From my list of 10 local possibilities, my Lady chose Ciao Bella for her birthday. I had a special, a veal rib chop stuffed with proscuitto & cheese served with mashed potato, a cream/mushroom sauce and grilled asparagus. Tender, moist veal, harmoniously paired with sides, especially the cream/mushroom sauce. Fabulous plate of food. As Miss Lady was busy the following evening, I returned to Ciao Bella and had 2 specials, stuffed and fried zucchini blossoms and again "the treat" of the same veal chop. On Wednesdays bottled wine is half off, dinner was elevated by a well-known Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Live music, lounge was packed. I will be thinking about those veal chops uniquely on 2 consecutive nights for a long time. read more

My girlfriend and I dined here and explored a local Italian restaurant to see if it could be our new. It's a rather small dining room consisting of tables with chairs. I was hoping for a booth, but that was alright. The tables did have a nice and neat tablecloth with an elegant touch. I ordered the Lasagna for my entree. They served a bread basket with a bottle of oil at the table. They also accompanied the bread with a bowl of cheese and herb mixture. It was a great combo to add on the bread after it had a topping of oil. The bread was a medium texture. It wasn't too soft, nor too hard or crunchy. The lasagna arrived piping hot, so I had to let it cool for a moment. The cheese definitely had an authentic taste and gooey vibe to it. The sauce was loaded onto the plate and surrounding the Lasagna. The meat was alright. The portion size was average for the price. The service was great with our attentive waiter who was on top of things whenever we needed. He held up a friendly conversation and didn't hesitate to ask us if we needed anything else in a calm manner. August 2021 - I am glad I didn't read the reviews before we arrived. We were actually going to the Red Robin next door but we didn't want to wait 30 minutes. Ciao Bella was much more high end than we were looking for but it's nice to splurge once in awhile. We were seated by an older gentleman. Everyone was professional and polite and the service was good. The hostess was a young goddess and she was very sweet. The warm fresh bread and olive oil and seasoning for dipping was excellent! We had two side salads with Italian dressing. My wife commented on how good the dressing was and a compliment from her is rare. We ordered a 12" pizza with cheese and tomatoes. The cheese was so thick and stringy that we could have used some scissors. LOL. We finished all but two slices of pizza and took it home in a very nice plastic container. The only negative at all was the band playing in the other room. The 1970s songs were ok but they couldn't play them or sing them. No problem. The online menu doesn't match what's being offered in the restaurant. My mother in law really was looking forward to a dish that wasn't available. Additionally, when my husband ordered his dish he was then told they were out. Had to scramble to find something. Service was very awkward and slow we were there for 2 hours. We received some waters but not all, then asked for whole table to get some the support staff still missed my son. I wasn't a fan of the food, my scallops and shrimp were drowning in butter sauce. We came to this restaurant for the first time. We were new to the area and we were looking for an Italian restaurant to replace the many fantastic Italian restaurants we frequented in chicago. We found it! The food was excellent. The service was also excellent, our waitress was very friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. The manager who I believe was also, the owner, came to us and asked us if everything was to our liking, and we told him we were very happy with our choice. The ambience of the restaurant was great... Not too formal and not too casual. A perfect place for any business dinners, but also a good place to take the family out to dinner in casual attire. We came here on a Friday night around the holidays with 8 people (4 adults and 4 children). We were a little unsure if it was kid friendly but they did a great job welcoming us! Our waiter was great with kids and asked us right when we sat down if we wanted to put in some half orders of pasta for the kids (ummm yes!!). We started with the anti pasta platter which was big and delicious with some interesting items on it that you don't get everyday. I'd highly recommend this. The wine was great and reasonably priced as well. For dinner I had the whitefish. My husband had the salmon and my friends had the tuna and the chicken Parmesan. Everything was incredible! Everything was cooked perfectly. I also thought the kids spaghetti and pizza was great. Their red sauce is awesome. I hate Italian restaurants whose red sauce tastes like Prego. This does not at all! It's more of a true marinara, more acidic and less sugary...so good! To finish it off we had to get dessert (it was my birthday after all) we shared the limoncello ice cream, the tiramisu, and the cheesecake. The waiter offered to split the chocolate gelatos for the kids and brought out special little kids spoons! (Guessing they were espresso spoons). I like that the desserts weren't massive, just the right size. I also noticed they didn't seat anyone super close to us so they didn't have to put up with our kids but we enjoyed that as we didn't feel like we were bothering anyone. Our kids aren't bad, but anyone who has dined with 4 kids under 5 knows it can be hectic at moments. The restaurant handled us like pros and made us feel so welcome! I mentioned it and was told the server told me "he doesn't make it". That is very disappointing. The service sucks.... the staff ignores the guests as they enter. The staff is clearly annoyed by the same customers who may tip them. "Unprofessional" is the only word to describe the treatment I received when I asked a simple question. It may be because the staff literally "hates" working there. People are packed in like sardines; so it's obvious it all about the quantity and not the quality. We stopped by to get some lunch and my aunt had questions about the menu and the greeter up at the front was beyond rude, answering in clipped questions, and didn't know the answer to some of the questions. First of all, the food is outstanding. The very very best! I have had tuna, white fish, pasta, desserts and many of the entrees. What is missing for me is the service. I went here on the my birthday, was shoved in the very back, it was cold, the ambiance was terrible and the wait staff seemed uninterested in helping us with any of the menu selection.
