4pc broasted chicken dinner with seasoned potatoes and cole slaw
James G.

I normally enjoy the pizza here / its super good!!! Sweet sauce and tasty toppings. This time we tried the Pasta and Chicken Dinner! Fettuccine Alfredo: definitely rich and buttery. It was amazing. A very large portion for the money. Cheese Curds: tasty little nuggets of cheese. Great! 4pc Chicken Dinner w/seasoned broasted potatoes: four pieces of chicken and seasoned broasted potatoes. Some bread and coke slaw too. The chicken was juicy and tasty. The potatoes were also great! The service was amazing as normal. Love this place!

Manager is extremely rude after it took 45 minutes longer than they originally stated.

Waited over an hour 15 for the pizza and when we got the pizza the cheese slid off the pizza and it turned into a mess of a pizza.

The atmosphere is dark but carries a distinctly club‑like vibe, which works well with the layout…read more Tables are nicely spaced, and the bar has an inviting appeal with some interesting lighting choices that add character. The wine list covers most regions, though noticeably missing any Zinfandels. Service was good overall, but substitutions are clearly discouraged, which may be a drawback for some diners. Appetizers lean heavily toward seafood, with a salad and brochette rounding out the options. They also offer rotating egg rolls; we tried the gyros version, which was flavorful but on the pricey side. The main menu isn't extensive, yet every major category is represented. Our fillets were cooked as ordered, and the baked potatoes were standard. However, the presentation was underwhelming--the filet looked quite bare on a large plate, with watery meat juice that didn't add much appeal. Desserts include a wide variety of cakes and cream‑cheese‑based options, though there's no crème brûlée or key lime pie for those who prefer classics. All in all, the experience and pricing were reminiscent of the now‑closed Gino's, though it doesn't quite reach the same level of execution. Still, it offers a solid night out with a few standout elements and a few areas that could use refinement.

On my second visit a year later, I decided to give it another shot--this time opting for the traditional version instead of the smoked one. It was better, but still only average at best. It was also served warm, and the ice melted quickly, suggesting the glass or drink wasn't properly chilled. The martini was also underwhelming--it tasted mostly like juice, with little to no noticeable alcohol. As for the food, the starters were definitely the highlight. The French onion soup was actually very good. However, the main courses didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the steak medium rare, but it came out closer to medium well--overcooked and under-seasoned. The chicken Vesuvio was also disappointing; the sauce tasted like it came from a jar, and neither it nor the rice stood out in any meaningful way. On a positive note, the ambiance was very nice. The lighting created a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, while the setting and service were enjoyable, the food and drinks didn't justify a return visit.

Beware you may need reservations - especially on taco night Wednesdays..prime rib tacos are popular at around $3.50 each ala carte. Most of the food on the menu is NOT ala carte - you get a relish tray (beets, beans & cottage cheese) for the table, then a choice of soup or salad (not both), and your entree should come with a potato choice or veggies (pretty darn good veggies!). We had three different entrees: Walleye (special), Blue Gill + Frog Legs (Combo Platter) and the 20oz. Charred Prime Rib - Medium. We also had a few drinks: MGD, Cabernet, and an old-fashioned (I do not recommend the old-fashioned. Weak, too many ice cubes, not traditional). The frog legs were excellent. The blue gill had some bones (to be expected, but otherwise tasty), the Walleye was fresh and excellent. The Prime Rib was just okay. It was cooked well, and although a fairly fatty piece of meat, it lacked some flavor...but was slightly charred. The service was good...wait staff were overwhelmed with multiple tables in the back with one other person helping to clear tables, refill drinks, etc. It's a one and done for me. Not terrible, but also not excellent. BUT - if you are looking for an old school, darker, poorly decorated, cramped seating-style tables/booths - then this is for you!

The restaurant represents as a tribute to Chicago, and the price is definitely reflect that. We decided to go there yesterday and sit in the outdoor bar area for my husband's birthday. We got there at the tail end of happy hour and we were able to order one drink each at a reduced price. My husband ordered the Thai chicken bowl and I ordered the buffalo cauliflower bowl. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, as were the drinks. The ambience makes you feel like you are at an Oceanside resort. The presentation of the food was a very pleasing aesthetic. During my first visited I was a little disappointed by the oysters we orders due to 3 out of the 6 of them being pretty much an empty half shell, they corrected the issue after we voiced our complaint with well sized and better looking oysters after. Other than that the drinks, appetizers and entrees came out quickly and were fantastic. The lobster roll was so delicious I got it both times I went! The calamari was some of the best cooked calamari I've had and their drinks are well crafted and I love the happy hour specials! I can see myself taking out of town visitors to this spot when we don't want to head to Chicago for great food!
